யோவான் 4
1 யோவானைவிட இயேசு அநேகம் பேரைச் சீடராக்கி, அவர்களுக்கு திருமுழுக்கு கொடுக்கிறார் எனப் பரிசேயர் கேள்விப்பட்டார்கள்.
When therefore the Lord knew, that the Pharisees had heard—Jesus, more disciples, is making and immersing, than John, —
2 ஆனால் திருமுழுக்கு கொடுத்தது இயேசு அல்ல, அவருடைய சீடரே அதைச் செய்தார்கள்.
although indeed, Jesus himself, was not immersing, but his disciples,
3 பரிசேயர் கேள்விப்பட்டதைக் கர்த்தர் அறிந்தபோது, அவர் யூதேயாவைவிட்டுப் புறப்பட்டுத் திரும்பவும் கலிலேயாவுக்குச் சென்றார்.
he left Judaea, and departed again into Galilee.
4 இயேசு சமாரியா வழியாகப் போகவேண்டியிருந்தது.
Now he must needs pass through Samaria.
5 எனவே அவர் சமாரியாவிலுள்ள சீகார் என்னும் பட்டணத்திற்கு வந்தார். அது யாக்கோபு தன் மகன் யோசேப்புக்குக் கொடுத்த நிலத்தின் அருகேயிருந்தது.
He cometh, therefore, unto a city of Samaria, called Sychar, near the parcel of ground which Jacob gave unto Joseph his son.
6 அங்கே யாக்கோபின் கிணறு இருந்தது. இயேசு பிரயாணத்தினால் களைப்படைந்தவராய், கிணற்றின் அருகே உட்கார்ந்தார். அப்பொழுது நேரம் நண்பகல் பன்னிரண்டு மணியாயிருந்தது.
Now Jacob’s fountain was there. Jesus, therefore, having become toil-worn with the journey, was sitting thus, upon the fountain. It was about the sixth hour.
7 அவ்வேளையில் சமாரிய பெண் ஒருத்தி தண்ணீர் மொள்ளுவதற்கு வந்தாள். இயேசு அவளிடம், “நீ எனக்குக் குடிப்பதற்குத் தண்ணீர் தருவாயா?” என்று கேட்டார்.
There cometh a woman of Samaria to draw water. Jesus saith unto her—Give me to drink!
8 அப்பொழுது அவருடைய சீடர்கள் உணவு வாங்கும்படி பட்டணத்திற்கு போயிருந்தார்கள்.
for, his disciples, had gone away into the city, that, food, they might buy.
9 அந்தச் சமாரியப் பெண் இயேசுவிடம், “நீர் ஒரு யூதன், நானோ ஒரு சமாரியப் பெண். என்னிடம் நீர் எப்படித் தண்ணீர் கேட்கலாம்?” என்று கேட்டாள். ஏனெனில் யூதர் சமாரியருடன் பழகுவதில்லை.
The Samaritan woman, therefore, saith unto him—How dost, thou, being, a Jew, ask to drink, of me, who am, a Samaritan woman? [for, Jews, have no dealings with Samaritans.]
10 இயேசு அவளுக்குப் பதிலாக, “நீ இறைவனுடைய வரத்தையும், உன்னிடம் குடிப்பதற்கு தண்ணீர் கேட்கிற நான் யார் என்பதையும் அறிந்திருந்தால், நீயே என்னிடத்தில் தண்ணீர் கேட்டிருப்பாய். நான் உனக்கு ஜீவத்தண்ணீரைக் கொடுத்திருப்பேன்” என்றார்.
Jesus answered, and said unto her—If thou hadst known the free gift of God, and who it is that is saying unto thee, Give me to drink, thou, wouldst have asked him, and he would have given thee living water.
11 அதற்கு அந்தப் பெண், “ஐயா, தண்ணீர் மொள்ளுவதற்கு உம்மிடம் ஒன்றும் இல்லை; கிணறும் ஆழமாய் இருக்கிறது. எங்கிருந்து இந்த ஜீவத்தண்ணீர் கிடைக்கும்?
She saith unto him—Sir! not even a bucket, hast thou, —and, the well, is, deep: —Whence, then, hast thou the living water?
12 நம்முடையத் தந்தை யாக்கோபு எங்களுக்கு இந்தக் கிணற்றைக் கொடுத்தாரே; இந்த கிணற்றிலிருந்து அவரும் அவருடைய பிள்ளைகளும் தண்ணீர் குடித்து, தங்கள் ஆடு மாடுகளுக்கும் தண்ணீர் கொடுத்தார்களே. எங்கள் தந்தை யாக்கோபைப் பார்க்கிலும் நீர் பெரியவரோ?” என்று கேட்டாள்.
Art, thou, greater than, our father Jacob, who gave us the well, —and, himself, out of it drank, and his sons, and his flocks?
13 இயேசு அதற்குப் பதிலாக, “இந்தத் தண்ணீரைக் குடிக்கிற ஒவ்வொருவரும் மீண்டும் தாகமடைவார்கள்.
Jesus answered, and said unto her—Whosoever drinketh of this water, will thirst, again;
15 அந்தப் பெண் அவரிடம், “ஐயா, அந்தத் தண்ணீரை எனக்குத் தாரும்; அப்பொழுது நான் இனிமேல் தாகமடைய மாட்டேன். தண்ணீர் மொள்ளுவதற்கு இங்கே வரவேண்டிய அவசியமும் எனக்கு இராது” என்றாள்.
The woman saith unto him—Sir! give me this water, that I thirst not, neither be coming hither to draw.
16 அப்பொழுது இயேசு அவளிடம், “நீ போய் உன் கணவனை கூட்டிக்கொண்டு வா” என்றார்.
He saith unto her—Go, call thy husband, and come hither!
17 “அதற்கு அவள், எனக்கு கணவன் இல்லை,” என்றாள். இயேசு அவளிடம், “எனக்குக் கணவன் இல்லை என்று நீ சொன்னது சரிதான்.
The woman answered, and said [unto him]—I have no husband. Jesus saith unto her—Well, saidst thou, A husband, I have not;
18 ஐந்து கணவன்மார் உனக்கு இருந்தார்களே, இப்பொழுது உன்னுடன் இருக்கிறவன் உன்னுடைய கணவன் அல்ல. நீ சொன்னது உண்மைதான்” என்றார்.
for, five husbands, thou hast had, —and, now, he whom thou hast, is not thy, husband: This true thing, hast thou spoken.
19 அப்பொழுது அந்தப் பெண், “ஐயா, நீர் ஒரு இறைவாக்கினர் என்று நான் கண்டுகொண்டேன்.
The woman saith unto him—Sir! I perceive that, a prophet, art, thou: —
20 எங்கள் தந்தையர் இங்கிருக்கும் மலையிலே இறைவனை வழிபட்டார்கள். ஆனால் யூதர்களான நீங்களோ, வழிபட வேண்டிய இடம் எருசலேமிலேயே இருக்கிறது என்று சொல்கிறீர்கள்” என்றாள்.
Our fathers, in this mountain, worshipped; and, ye, say, that, in Jerusalem, is the place, where, to worship, it behoveth.
21 அதற்கு இயேசு: “அம்மா, நீ என்னை நம்பு; நீங்கள் பிதாவை இந்த மலையிலும், எருசலேமிலும் வழிபடாத காலம் வருகிறது.
Jesus saith unto her—Believe me, woman! There cometh an hour, when, neither in this mountain, nor yet in Jerusalem, shall ye worship the Father.
22 சமாரியராகிய நீங்களோ அறியாததையே ஆராதிக்கிறீர்கள்; யூதர்களாகிய நாங்களோ அறிந்திருப்பவரையே ஆராதிக்கிறோம். ஏனெனில் யூதரிடமிருந்தே இரட்சிப்பு வருகிறது.
Ye, worship, that which ye know not; We, worship, that which we know; because, salvation, is, of the Jews.
23 ஆனால் ஒரு காலம் வருகிறது, அது இப்பொழுதே வந்துவிட்டது. உண்மையாய் ஆராதிக்கிறவர்கள், அப்பொழுது பிதாவை ஆவியிலும் உண்மையிலும் ஆராதிப்பார்கள். ஏனெனில் அவ்விதம் தன்னை ஆராதிக்கிறவர்களையே பிதா தேடுகிறார்.
But there cometh an hour, and, now, is, —when, the real worshippers, shall worship the Father in spirit and truth; for, even the Father, is seeking, such as these, as his worshippers.
24 இறைவன் ஆவியாயிருக்கிறார். அவரை ஆராதிக்கிறவர்கள் ஆவியிலும் உண்மையிலும் அவரை ஆராதிக்க வேண்டும்” என்றார்.
God is, spirit; and, they that worship him, in spirit and truth, must needs worship.
25 அந்தப் பெண் அவரிடம், “கிறிஸ்து எனப்பட்ட மேசியா வருகிறார். அவர் வரும்போது எல்லாவற்றையும் அவர் எங்களுக்கு விளக்கிக் கூறுவார் என்று எனக்குத் தெரியும்” என்றாள்.
The woman saith unto him—I know that, Messiah, cometh, who is called Christ, —Whensoever, he, shall come, he will tell us, everything.
26 அதற்கு இயேசு அவளிடம், “உன்னுடன் பேசுகிற நானே அவர்” என்று அறிவித்தார்.
Jesus saith unto her—I, that speak unto thee, am he.
27 அப்பொழுது இயேசுவின் சீடர்கள் திரும்பிவந்து, அவர் ஒரு பெண்ணுடன் பேசிக் கொண்டிருப்பதைக் கண்டு வியப்படைந்தார்கள். ஆனால் யாரும் அவரிடம், “உமக்கு என்ன தேவைப்படுகிறது? நீர் ஏன் அவளுடன் பேசுகிறீர்?” என்று கேட்கவில்லை.
And, hereupon, came his disciples, and they began to marvel, that, with a woman, he was talking. No one, however, said—What seekest thou? or—Why talkest thou with her?
28 அப்பொழுது அந்தப் பெண் தண்ணீர் குடத்தை அங்கேயே விட்டுவிட்டு, பட்டணத்திற்குள்ளே போய் அங்குள்ள மக்களிடம்,
The woman, therefore, left her water-vessel, and went away into the city, and saith unto the men—
29 “வாருங்கள், நான் செய்த எல்லாவற்றையும் எனக்குச் சொன்ன ஒருவரை வந்து பாருங்கள். ஒருவேளை அவர்தான் கிறிஸ்துவோ?” என்றாள்.
Come! see a man, that told me all things that ever I did: Can, this, be, the Christ?
30 அவர்கள் பட்டணத்தைவிட்டு வெளியேறி இயேசு இருந்த இடத்திற்கு வந்தார்கள்.
They came forth out of the city, and were coming unto him.
31 இதற்கிடையில் அவருடைய சீடர்கள், “போதகரே, சாப்பிடுங்கள்” என்று அவரைக் கேட்டுக்கொண்டார்கள்.
In the meantime, the disciples were requesting him, saying—Rabbi! eat.
32 அதற்கு இயேசு அவர்களிடம், “நான் சாப்பிடுவதற்கு நீங்கள் அறியாத உணவு எனக்கு இருக்கிறது” என்றார்.
But, he, said unto them—I, have, food, to eat, of which, ye, know not.
33 அப்பொழுது அவருடைய சீடர்கள், “யாராவது அவருக்கு உணவு கொடுத்திருப்பார்களோ?” என்று தங்களுக்குள்ளே பேசிக்கொண்டார்கள்.
The disciples, therefore, began to say, one to another—Hath anyone brought him, to eat?
34 இயேசு அவர்களிடம், “என்னை அனுப்பினவருடைய சித்தத்தைச் செய்து, அவருடைய வேலையை முடிப்பதே எனது உணவு.
Jesus saith unto them—My food, is, that I should do the will of him that sent me, and complete, his work.
35 ‘இன்னும் நான்கு மாதங்கள் இருக்கின்றன. அதற்குப் பின்பு அறுவடை வந்துவிடும்’ என்று நீங்கள் சொல்வதில்லையா? நான் உங்களுக்குச் சொல்கிறேன், நீங்கள் உங்கள் கண்களைத் திறந்து வயல்களை நோக்கிப்பாருங்கள்! அவை விளைந்து அறுவடைக்கு ஆயத்தமாக இருக்கின்றன.
Are, ye, not saying—Yet, a fourmonth, it is, and, the harvest, cometh? Lo! I say unto you—Lift up your eyes, and gaze at the fields, —that, white, are they unto, harvest. Already,
36 இப்பொழுதும்கூட அறுவடை செய்பவன் கூலியைப் பெறுகிறான். இப்பொழுதே அவன் நித்திய ஜீவனுக்கான விளைச்சலை அறுவடை செய்கிறான்; இதனால் விதைக்கிறவனும் அறுவடை செய்கிறவனும் ஒன்றாய் மகிழ்ச்சியடைகிறார்கள். (aiōnios g166)
he that reapeth, receiveth, a reward, and gathereth fruit unto life age-abiding; that, he that soweth, together may rejoice, with him that reapeth. (aiōnios g166)
37 இவ்விதம், ‘ஒருவன் விதைக்கிறான், இன்னொருவன் அறுவடை செய்கிறான்’ என்ற பழமொழியும் உண்மையாகிறது.
For, herein, doth the saying, hold good, —One, is the sower, and, another, is the reaper.
38 நீங்கள் வேலைசெய்து விளைவிக்காததை அறுவடை செய்ய நான் உங்களை அனுப்பினேன். மற்றவர்கள் கடுமையாய் உழைத்தார்கள். அவர்களுடைய உழைப்பின் பலனை நீங்கள் அறுவடை செய்தீர்கள்” என்றார்.
I, sent you forth, to be reaping that whereon, ye, have not toiled: Others, have toiled, and, ye, into their toil, have entered.
39 அந்தப் பட்டணத்திலிருந்த சமாரியர் அநேகர் இயேசுவை விசுவாசித்தார்கள். ஏனெனில், “நான் செய்த எல்லாவற்றையும் எனக்குச் சொன்னார்” என்று இயேசுவைக்குறித்து அந்தச் சமாரியப் பெண் சாட்சி கூறியிருந்தாள்.
And, out of that city, many, believed on him—of the Samaritans, —by reason of the word of the woman in bearing witness—He told me all things that ever I did.
40 எனவே அந்தச் சமாரியர் அவரிடம், தங்களுடன் வந்து தங்கும்படி அவரைக் கேட்டுக்கொண்டார்கள். இயேசு அவர்களுடன் இரண்டு நாட்கள் தங்கினார்.
When, therefore, the Samaritans came unto him, they went on to request him to abide with them; and he abode there two days.
41 அவருடைய வார்த்தைகளைக் கேட்டு இன்னும் அதிகமானோர் விசுவாசிகளானார்கள்.
And, many more, believed by reason of his discourse;
42 அவர்கள் அந்தப் பெண்ணிடம், “நாங்கள் அவரை நம்புவது நீ சொன்னதைக் கேட்டுமட்டுமல்ல; இப்பொழுது நாங்களே அவர் சொன்னவற்றைக் கேட்டோம். இவர் உண்மையிலேயே உலகத்தின் இரட்சகர் என்பதை அறிந்துகொண்டோம்” என்றார்கள்.
and, unto the woman, began to say—No longer, by reason of thy talk, do we believe; for, we ourselves, have heard, and know that, This One, is, in truth, the Saviour of the world.
43 இரண்டு நாட்களுக்குப்பின் இயேசு கலிலேயாவுக்குப் புறப்பட்டுச் சென்றார்.
But, after the two days, he went forth from thence, into Galilee.
44 ஒரு இறைவாக்கினனுக்கு தனது சொந்த நாட்டிலே மதிப்பு இல்லை என்று இயேசு தாமே குறிப்பிட்டுச் சொல்லியிருந்தார்.
For, Jesus himself, bare witness, that, a prophet, in his own fatherland, hath not, honour.
45 இயேசு கலிலேயாவுக்கு வந்தபோது, கலிலேயர்கள் அவரை வரவேற்றார்கள். பஸ்கா என்ற பண்டிகையின்போது அவர் எருசலேமில் செய்ததையெல்லாம் கலிலேயர் கண்டிருந்தார்கள். ஏனெனில் பண்டிகையின்போது அவர்களும் அங்கே இருந்தார்கள்.
So, when he came into Galilee, the Galilaeans welcomed him, having seen, all things, whatsoever he had done in Jerusalem during the feast; for, they also, went unto the feast.
46 இயேசு மீண்டும் ஒருமுறை கலிலேயாவிலுள்ள கானாவூருக்குச் சென்றார். அங்குதான் அவர் தண்ணீரைத் திராட்சைரசமாக மாற்றினார். அங்கே கப்பர்நகூமிலே இருந்த ஒரு அரச அதிகாரியின் மகன் நோயுற்றுப் படுத்திருந்தான்.
So he came again into Cana of Galilee, where he had made the water, wine. And there was a certain courtier, whose son was sick, in Capernaum.
47 இயேசு யூதேயாவிலிருந்து கலிலேயாவுக்கு வந்தாரென்று இந்த அதிகாரி கேள்விப்பட்டதும், அவரிடத்திற்குப் போய், மரணத் தருவாயில் இருக்கும் தனது மகனை இயேசு, வந்து குணமாக்க வேண்டுமென்று அவரைக் கெஞ்சினான்.
The same, hearing that Jesus had come out of Judaea into Galilee, came away unto him, and began requesting him, that he would come down and heal his son; for he was on the point of dying.
48 இயேசு அவனிடம், “நீங்கள் அடையாளங்களையும் அற்புதங்களையும் கண்டாலொழிய, ஒருபோதும் விசுவாசிக்கமாட்டீர்கள்” என்றார்.
Jesus therefore said unto him—Except, signs and wonders, ye see, in nowise will ye believe.
49 அதற்கு அந்த அரச அதிகாரி, “ஐயா, எனது பிள்ளை சாகுமுன்னே வாரும்” என்றான்.
The courtier saith unto him—Sir! come down, ere my child die!
50 இயேசு அதற்குப் பதிலாக, “நீ திரும்பிப்போ. உன் மகன் உயிர்வாழ்வான்” என்றார். அவன் இயேசுவின் வார்த்தையை விசுவாசித்து புறப்பட்டுப் போனான்.
Jesus saith unto him—Be going thy way: thy son, liveth! And the man believed in the word which Jesus spake to him, and at once went his way.
51 அவன் வழியில் போய்க் கொண்டிருக்கும்போதே, அவனுடைய வேலைக்காரர் அவனுக்கு எதிர்ப்பட்டு அவனுடைய மகன் பிழைத்திருக்கிறான் என்ற செய்தியை அறிவித்தார்கள்.
And, when he was even now going down, his servants, met him, saying, that, his boy, was living.
52 தனது மகன் சுகமடைந்த நேரத்தைப்பற்றி அவன் விசாரித்தபோது, அவர்கள் அவனிடம், “நேற்று பிற்பகல் ஒரு மணிக்கு அவனுக்கிருந்த காய்ச்சல் நீங்கியது” என்றார்கள்.
So he enquired the hour, from them, when he began, to amend. They said, therefore, unto him—Yesterday, at the seventh hour, the fever left him.
53 இயேசு தன்னிடம், “உனது மகன் உயிர்வாழ்வான்” என்று தனக்குச் சொன்ன நேரம், சரியாக அதே நேரம்தான் என்று தகப்பன் புரிந்து கொண்டான். எனவே அவனும், அவனுடைய குடும்பத்தாரும் இயேசுவை விசுவாசித்தார்கள்.
So the father took note that it was, in that hour, wherein Jesus said unto him—Thy son, liveth! and he believed, he, and all his house.
54 இது இயேசு யூதேயாவிலிருந்து கலிலேயாவுக்கு வந்தபின் செய்த இரண்டாவது அடையாளம் ஆகும்.
Now, this again, as, a second sign, Jesus did, after coming out of Judaea into Galilee.
