யோவான் 3
1 பரிசேயர்களில் நிக்கொதேமு என்னும் பெயருடைய ஒரு மனிதன் இருந்தான். அவன் யூத ஆளுநர் குழுவின் உறுப்பினரில் ஒருவன்.
There was a man of the Pharisees named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews:
2 அவன் ஒரு இரவிலே இயேசுவினிடத்தில் வந்து, “போதகரே, நீர் இறைவனிடத்திலிருந்து வந்த ஒரு போதகர் என்று எங்களுக்குத் தெரியும். ஏனெனில் இறைவன் ஒருவரோடு இல்லாவிட்டால், நீர் செய்கிற அடையாளங்களைச் செய்யமுடியாது” என்றான்.
The same came to Jesus by night, and said to him, Rabbi, we know that thou art a teacher come from God: for no man can do these miracles that thou doest, except God be with him.
3 இயேசு அதற்குப் பதிலாக, “ஒருவர் மறுபடியும் பிறக்காவிட்டால், இறைவனுடைய அரசை அவரால் காணமுடியாது என்று மெய்யாகவே மெய்யாகவே நான் உனக்குச் சொல்கிறேன்” என்றார்.
Jesus answered and said to him, Verily, verily, I say to thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.
4 அப்பொழுது நிக்கொதேமு இயேசுவிடம், “வயதான ஒருவர் மீண்டும் பிறப்பது எப்படி? அவர் மீண்டும் பிறப்பதற்காக, தமது தாயின் கர்ப்பத்தில் இரண்டாவது முறை போகமுடியாதே” என்றான்.
Nicodemus saith to him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother's womb, and be born?
5 இயேசு அதற்குப் பதிலாக, “மெய்யாகவே மெய்யாகவே, ஒருவர் தண்ணீரினாலும் ஆவியானவரினாலும் பிறவாவிட்டால், அவர் இறைவனுடைய அரசுக்குள் செல்லமுடியாது என்று நான் உனக்குச் சொல்கிறேன்.
Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say to thee, Except a man be born of water, and [of] the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.
6 மாமிசம், மாமிசத்தைப் பிறப்பிக்கிறது. ஆனால் ஆவியானவரோ, ஆவியை பிறப்பிக்கிறார்.
That which is born of the flesh, is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit, is spirit.
7 ‘நீங்கள் மறுபடியும் பிறக்க வேண்டும்’ என்று நான் உனக்குச் சொன்ன வார்த்தையைக் குறித்து நீ வியப்படையக் கூடாது.
Marvel not that I said to thee, Ye must be born again.
8 காற்று தான் விரும்பிய இடத்தை நோக்கியே வீசுகிறது; அதன் சத்தத்தைக் கேட்கிறீர்கள். ஆனால் அது எங்கிருந்து வருகிறது என்றோ, அது எங்கே போகிறது என்றோ உங்களால் சொல்லமுடியாது. ஆவியானவரால் பிறந்த ஒவ்வொரு பிறப்பும் இப்படியே” என்றார்.
The wind bloweth where it will, and thou hearest the sound of it, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit.
9 அப்பொழுது நிக்கொதேமு, “இது எப்படி ஆகும்?” என்று கேட்டான்.
Nicodemus answered and said to him, How can these things be?
10 இயேசு அவனிடம், “நீ இஸ்ரயேலரில் போதகனாய் இருக்கிறாயே, உன்னால் இவைகளை விளங்கிக்கொள்ள முடியவில்லையா?
Jesus answered and said to him, Art thou a teacher of Israel, and knowest not these things?
11 நான் உனக்கு மெய்யாகவே மெய்யாகவே சொல்கிறேன், நாங்கள் அறிந்ததைப் பேசுகிறோம். நாங்கள் கண்டதைக் குறித்துச் சாட்சி சொல்கிறோம். ஆனால் நீங்களோ எங்களுடைய சாட்சியை ஏற்றுக்கொள்ளாமல் இருக்கிறீர்கள்.
Verily, verily, I say to thee, We speak what we know, and testify what we have seen; and ye receive not our testimony.
12 பூமிக்குரிய காரியங்களைக்குறித்தே நான் உங்களுக்குச் சொன்னேன், நீங்கள் அதை விசுவாசிக்காமல் இருக்கிறீர்கள்; அப்படியிருக்க பரலோக காரியங்களைக்குறித்து நான் பேசினால், அதை நீங்கள் எப்படி விசுவாசிப்பீர்கள்?
If I have told you earthly things, and ye believe not, how will ye believe if I tell you heavenly things?
13 பரலோகத்திலிருந்து வந்த மானிடமகனாகிய என்னைத்தவிர, ஒருவரும் ஒருபோதும் பரலோகத்திற்குள் சென்றதில்லை.
And no man hath ascended to heaven, but he that came down from heaven, [even] the Son of man who is in heaven.
14 பாலைவனத்திலே மோசே பாம்பை உயர்த்தியதுபோல, மானிடமனாகிய நானும் உயர்த்தப்பட வேண்டும்.
And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up:
15 அப்போது மானிடமகனாகிய என்மீது விசுவாசமாயிருக்கிற ஒவ்வொருவரும், நித்திய ஜீவனைப் பெறுவார்கள்.” (aiōnios g166)
That whoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life. (aiōnios g166)
16 இறைவன் தமது ஒரே மகனை ஒப்புக்கொடுத்து அவரில் விசுவாசிக்கிற ஒருவரும் அழிந்து போகாமல் நித்திய ஜீவனைப் பெறும்படி இவ்வளவாய் உலகத்தினரை அன்புகூர்ந்தார். (aiōnios g166)
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only-begotten Son, that whoever believeth in him, should not perish, but have everlasting life. (aiōnios g166)
17 உலகத்தைக் குற்றவாளி என்று தீர்ப்பதற்காக இறைவன் தமது மகனை அனுப்பாமல், தமது மகனின் மூலமாய் உலகத்தவர்களை இரட்சிப்பதற்காகவே அனுப்பினார்.
For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through him may be saved.
18 இறைவனுடைய மகனில் விசுவாசிக்கிற யாவருக்கும் நியாயத்தீர்ப்பு இல்லை. ஆனால் அவரை விசுவாசிக்காதவருக்கோ ஏற்கெனவே நியாயத்தீர்ப்பு வழங்கப்பட்டு விட்டது. ஏனெனில் அவர்கள் இறைவனுடைய ஒரே மகனின் பெயரில் விசுவாசம் வைக்கவில்லை.
He that believeth on him, is not condemned: but he that believeth not, is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only-begotten Son of God.
19 அந்த நியாயத்தீர்ப்பு என்னவென்றால்: உலகத்திற்குள் வெளிச்சம் வந்தது. மனிதர் வெளிச்சத்தை அல்ல, இருளையே விரும்பினார்கள். ஏனெனில் அவர்களது செயல்கள் தீயவைகளாய் இருந்தன.
And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men have loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.
20 தீயசெயலைச் செய்கிற ஒவ்வொருவரும் வெளிச்சத்தை வெறுக்கிறார்கள். தமது தீய செயல்கள் வெளியரங்கமாகிவிடும் என்று அவர்கள் வெளிச்சத்திற்குள் வரமாட்டார்கள்.
For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved.
21 ஆனால் சத்தியத்தின்படி வாழ்கிறவர்களோ வெளிச்சத்திற்குள் வருகிறார்கள். தமது செயல்கள் எல்லாம் இறைவனுக்குள்ளாகவே செய்யப்பட்டிருப்பதால், அது தெளிவாய்த் தெரியும்படி அவர்கள் வெளிச்சத்திற்குள் வருகிறார்கள் என்றார்.
But he that doeth truth, cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.
22 இதற்குப் பின்பு, இயேசுவும் அவருடைய சீடர்களும் யூதேயாவின் நாட்டுப் புறத்துக்குச் சென்றார்கள். அங்கே இயேசு சிறிதுகாலம் அவர்களுடன் தங்கி, மக்களுக்குத் திருமுழுக்கு கொடுத்து வந்தார்.
After these things came Jesus and his disciples into the land of Judea; and there he tarried with them, and baptized.
23 யோவானும் சாலிமுக்கு அருகே இருந்த அயினோன் என்ற இடத்தில் திருமுழுக்கு கொடுத்துக் கொண்டிருந்தான். ஏனெனில் அங்கே தண்ணீர் அதிகமாய் இருந்ததுடன், திருமுழுக்கு பெறும்படி மக்களும் தொடர்ச்சியாக வந்து கொண்டிருந்தார்கள்.
And John also was baptizing in Enon, near to Salim, because there was much water there: and they came, and were baptized.
24 இது யோவான் சிறையில் போடப்படும் முன்னே நடைபெற்றது.
For John was not yet cast into prison.
25 யோவானுடைய சீடர்களுக்கும் சில யூதர்களுக்கும் இடையில் சடங்காச்சார சுத்திகரிப்பைக் குறித்து விவாதம் ஏற்பட்டது.
Then there arose a question between [some] of John's disciples and the Jews, about purifying.
26 யோவானுடைய சீடர்கள் யோவானிடத்தில் வந்து அவனிடம், “போதகரே, யோர்தானுக்கு அக்கரையில் உம்மோடிருந்த ஒருவரைக் குறித்து நீர் சாட்சி கொடுத்தீரே. அவரும் திருமுழுக்கு கொடுக்கிறார். எல்லோரும் அவரிடத்தில் போய்க்கொண்டிருக்கிறார்களே” என்றார்கள்.
And they came to John, and said to him, Rabbi, he that was with thee beyond Jordan, to whom thou didst bear testimony, behold, the same baptizeth, and all [men] come to him.
27 யோவான் அதற்குப் பதிலாக, “ஒருவர், பரலோகத்திலிருந்து கொடுக்கப்படுவதை மட்டுமே பெற்றுக்கொள்ள முடியும்.
John answered and said, A man can receive nothing, except it be given him from heaven.
28 ‘நான் கிறிஸ்து அல்ல, அவருக்கு முன்பாக அனுப்பப்பட்டவன்’ என்று நான் சொன்னதற்கு நீங்களே எனக்குச் சாட்சிகள்.
Ye yourselves bear me testimony, that I said I am not the Christ, but that I am sent before him.
29 மணவாளனுக்கே மணப்பெண் உரியவள். மணவாளனின் தோழனோ, மணவாளனின் அருகே நின்று அவன் சொல்வதைக் கேட்கிறான். அவன் மணவாளனுடைய குரலைக் கேட்டு மிகவும் மகிழ்ச்சி அடைகிறான். அந்த மகிழ்ச்சியே எனக்குரியது. அது இப்போது நிறைவடைந்தது.
He that hath the bride, is the bridegroom: but the friend of the bridegroom, who standeth and heareth him, rejoiceth greatly, because of the bridegroom's voice: this my joy therefore is fulfilled.
30 அவரோ மிகுதிப்பட வேண்டும்; நானோ குறைந்துபோக வேண்டும்.
He must increase, but I [must] decrease.
31 “மேலே இருந்து வருகிறவர் எல்லோருக்கும் மேலானவராகவே இருக்கிறார்; கீழே பூமியிலிருந்து வருகிறவனோ பூமிக்கே சொந்தமாயிருக்கிறான். அவன் பூமிக்குரிய காரியங்களைப் பேசுகிறான். பரலோகத்திலிருந்து வருகிறவரோ எல்லோரிலும் மேன்மையானவராகவே இருக்கிறார்.
He that cometh from above is above all: he that is of the earth is earthly, and speaketh of the earth: he that cometh from heaven is above all.
32 அவர் தாம் கண்டதையும் கேட்டதையும் குறித்து சாட்சி கூறுகிறார். ஆனால் அவருடைய சாட்சியையோ ஒருவரும் ஏற்றுக்கொள்ளுகிறதில்லை.
And what he hath seen and heard, that he testifieth; and no man receiveth his testimony.
33 அவருடைய சாட்சியை ஏற்றுக் கொள்கிறவர்களோ, இறைவன் உண்மை உள்ளவர் என்று உறுதிப்படுத்துகிறார்கள்.
He that hath received his testimony, hath set to his seal that God is true.
34 இறைவனால் அனுப்பப்பட்டவரோ இறைவனுடைய வார்த்தைகளைப் பேசுகிறார். ஏனெனில், இறைவன் அவருக்கு ஆவியானவரை அளவின்றிக் கொடுத்திருக்கிறார்.
For he whom God hath sent, speaketh the words of God: for [to him] God giveth not the Spirit by measure.
35 பிதா மகனை நேசிக்கிறார். அவர் எல்லாவற்றையும் மகனுடைய கைகளிலே ஒப்படைத்திருக்கிறார்.
The Father loveth the Son, and hath given all things into his hand.
36 இறைவனின் மகனில் விசுவாசமாயிருக்கிறவர் எவரோ, அவருக்கு நித்திய ஜீவன் உண்டு. இறைவனின் மகனைப் புறக்கணிக்கிறவர் எவரோ, அவர்கள் அந்த ஜீவனைக் காணமாட்டார்கள். ஏனெனில் இறைவனுடைய கோபம் அவர்கள்மேல் நிலைத்திருக்கும்” என்றான். (aiōnios g166)
He that believeth on the Son, hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son, shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him. (aiōnios g166)
