யோவான் 19
1 பின்பு பிலாத்து இயேசுவைக் கொண்டுபோய் சவுக்கால் அடிக்கக் கட்டளையிட்டான்.
Then Pilate tooke Iesus and scourged him.
2 படைவீரர்கள் முட்களினால் ஒரு கிரீடத்தை செய்து, அதை அவர் தலையில் வைத்தார்கள். அவர்கள் அவருக்கு ஒரு கருஞ்சிவப்புநிற மேலுடையை உடுத்தி,
And the souldiers platted a crowne of thornes, and put it on his head, and they put on him a purple garment,
3 “யூதரின் அரசனே வாழ்க!” என்று சொல்லி அவருடைய முகத்தில் அறைந்தார்கள்.
And saide, Haile, King of the Iewes. And they smote him with their roddes.
4 மீண்டும் ஒருமுறை பிலாத்து வெளியே வந்து யூதரிடம், “பாருங்கள், அவனுக்கு விரோதமாகக் குற்றம் சாட்டுவதற்கு எந்த ஆதாரமும் இல்லை என்று நீங்கள் அறியும்படி, நான் அவனை வெளியே உங்களிடம் கொண்டுவருகிறேன்” என்றான்.
Then Pilate went foorth againe, and said vnto them, Behold, I bring him forth to you, that ye may knowe, that I finde no fault in him at all.
5 இயேசு முட்களால் செய்யப்பட்ட கிரீடத்தைத் தரித்துக்கொண்டும், கருஞ்சிவப்புநிற மேலுடையை உடுத்திக்கொண்டும் வெளியே வந்தபோது, பிலாத்து அவர்களிடம், “இதோ அந்த மனிதன்!” என்றான்.
Then came Iesus foorth wearing a crowne of thornes, and a purple garment. And Pilate said vnto them, Beholde the man.
6 தலைமை ஆசாரியர்களும் அவர்களுடைய அதிகாரிகளும் அவரைக் கண்டபோது, “சிலுவையில் அறையும்! சிலுவையில் அறையும்!” என்று சத்தமிட்டார்கள். அப்பொழுது பிலாத்து அவர்களிடம், “இவனை நீங்களே கொண்டுபோய் சிலுவையில் அறையுங்கள். ஆனால் நானோ இவனுக்கெதிராய் குற்றம் சாட்டுவதற்கான ஆதாரம் ஒன்றையும் காணவில்லை” என்றான்.
Then when the hie Priests and officers sawe him, they cried, saying, Crucifie, crucifie him. Pilate said vnto them, Take yee him and crucifie him: for I finde no fault in him.
7 அதற்கு யூதத்தலைவர்கள், “எங்களுக்கு ஒரு சட்டம் இருக்கிறது. அதன்படி இவன் சாகவேண்டும். ஏனெனில் இவன் தன்னை இறைவனின் மகன் என்று சொல்கிறான்” என்றார்கள்.
The Iewes answered him, We haue a lawe, and by our law he ought to die, because he made himselfe the Sonne of God.
8 பிலாத்து இதைக் கேட்டபோது, இன்னும் அதிகமாக பயந்தான்.
When Pilate then heard that woorde, he was the more afraide,
9 அவன் மீண்டும் அரண்மனைக்குள் போய் இயேசுவிடம், “நீ எங்கிருந்து வந்தவன்?” என்று கேட்டான். ஆனால் இயேசுவோ பதில் ஏதும் சொல்லவில்லை.
And went againe into the common hall, and saide vnto Iesus, Whence art thou? But Iesus gaue him none answere.
10 அதற்கு பிலாத்து, “நீ என்னுடன் பேசமறுக்கிறாயோ? உன்னை விடுவிக்கவும், உன்னைச் சிலுவையில் அறையவும் எனக்கு அதிகாரம் உண்டு என்று நீ அறியாதிருக்கிறாயோ?” என்றான்.
Then saide Pilate vnto him, Speakest thou not vnto me? Knowest thou not that I haue power to crucifie thee, and haue power to loose thee?
11 அதற்கு இயேசு, “பரத்திலிருந்து உமக்குக் கொடுக்கப்பட்டாலொழிய, என்மேல் உமக்கு எந்த அதிகாரமும் இராது. ஆனால், என்னை உம்மிடம் ஒப்படைத்தவனுக்கு அதிக பாவமுண்டு” என்றார்.
Iesus answered, Thou couldest haue no power at all against me, except it were giuen thee from aboue: therefore he that deliuered me vnto thee, hath the greater sinne.
12 அப்பொழுதிலிருந்தே, பிலாத்து இயேசுவை விடுதலை செய்வதற்கு முயன்றான். ஆனால் யூதர்களோ, “நீர் இந்த மனிதனை விடுதலை செய்தால், நீர் ரோமப் பேரரசன் சீசருக்கு நண்பனல்ல. தன்னை ஒரு அரசன் என்று சொல்கிறவன், ரோமப் பேரரசனுக்கு எதிராய் எழும்புகிறான்” என்று சத்தமிட்டார்கள்.
From thence foorth Pilate sought to loose him, but the Iewes cried, saying, If thou deliuer him, thou art not Cesars friende: for whosoeuer maketh himselfe a King, speaketh against Cesar.
13 பிலாத்து இதைக் கேட்டபோது, அவன் இயேசுவை வெளியே கொண்டுவந்து, தனது நீதிபதியின் இருக்கையில் உட்கார்ந்தான். அது கற்களால் செய்யப்பட்ட ஒரு தளமேடையில் இருந்தது. அந்த மேடை எபிரெய மொழியிலே கபத்தா என அழைக்கப்பட்டது.
When Pilate heard this woorde, hee brought Iesus foorth, and sate downe in the iudgement seate in a place called the Pauement, and in Hebrewe, Gabbatha.
14 அன்று அது பஸ்கா என்ற பண்டிகை வாரத்தின் ஆயத்த நாளாயிருந்தது. நேரமோ பகல் பன்னிரண்டு மணியாயிருந்தது. பிலாத்து யூதர்களிடம், “இதோ உங்கள் அரசன்” என்றான்.
And it was the Preparation of the Passeouer, and about the sixt houre: and hee sayde vnto the Iewes, Beholde your King.
15 ஆனால் அவர்களோ, “இவனை அகற்றும்! இவனை அகற்றும்! இவனைச் சிலுவையில் அறையும்!” என்று சத்தமிட்டார்கள். “உங்கள் அரசனை நான் சிலுவையில் அறைய வேண்டுமென்றா சொல்கிறீர்கள்?” என்று பிலாத்து கேட்டான். அதற்கு தலைமை ஆசாரியர்கள், “ரோமப் பேரரசன் சீசரைத் தவிர வேறு அரசன் எங்களுக்கு இல்லை” என்றார்கள்.
But they cried, Away with him, away with him, crucifie him. Pilate sayde vnto them, Shall I crucifie your King? The high Priestes answered, We haue no King but Cesar.
16 கடைசியாக, பிலாத்து இயேசுவை சிலுவையில் அறையும்படி அவர்களிடம் ஒப்படைத்தான். எனவே படைவீரர்கள் இயேசுவைத் தம் பொறுப்பில் ஏற்றுக்கொண்டார்கள்.
Then deliuered he him vnto them, to be crucified. And they tooke Iesus, and led him away.
17 இயேசு தம்முடைய சிலுவையைத் தாமே சுமந்துகொண்டு, மண்டையோடு என்ற இடத்திற்குச் சென்றார். அந்த இடம் எபிரெய மொழியில், கொல்கொதா என அழைக்கப்பட்டது.
And he bare his owne crosse, and came into a place named of dead mens Skulles, which is called in Hebrewe, Golgotha:
18 அங்கே அவர்கள் இயேசுவை சிலுவையில் அறைந்தார்கள். அவருடனேகூட வேறு இருவரை, அவருடைய இரு பக்கங்களிலும் அறைந்தார்கள். இயேசுவோ அவர்களுக்கு நடுவில் அறையப்பட்டார்.
Where they crucified him, and two other with him, on either side one, and Iesus in the middes.
19 பிலாத்து ஒரு அறிவிப்புப் பலகையைச் செய்து, அதைச் சிலுவையில் மாட்டினான். அதிலே, இப்படி எழுதப்பட்டிருந்தது: நாசரேத்தைச் சேர்ந்த இயேசு, யூதரின் அரசன்.
And Pilate wrote also a title, and put it on the crosse, and it was written, JESUS OF NAZARETH THE KING OF THE JEWES.
20 யூதரில் அநேகர் இந்த அறிவிப்பை வாசித்தார்கள். ஏனெனில் இயேசு சிலுவையில் அறையப்பட்ட இடம் நகரத்திற்கு அருகே இருந்தது. அந்த அறிவிப்பு எபிரெய, லத்தீன், கிரேக்க மொழிகளில் எழுதப்பட்டிருந்தது.
This title then read many of the Iewes: for the place where Iesus was crucified, was neere to the citie: and it was written in Hebrewe, Greeke and Latine.
21 யூதரின் தலைமை ஆசாரியர்கள் பிலாத்துவிடம் போய், “யூதரின் அரசன் என்று எழுதவேண்டாம். இவன் தன்னை யூதரின் அரசன் என்று சொல்லிக்கொண்டான் என்று எழுதும்” என்றார்கள்.
Then saide the hie Priests of the Iewes to Pilate, Write not, The King of the Iewes, but that he sayd, I am King of the Iewes.
22 அதற்கு பிலாத்து, “நான் எழுதியது எழுதியதே” என்றான்.
Pilate answered, What I haue written, I haue written.
23 படைவீரர்கள் இயேசுவைச் சிலுவையில் அறைந்த பின்பு, அவர்கள் அவருடைய உடைகளை எடுத்து, ஒவ்வொரு வீரனுக்கும் ஒவ்வொரு பங்காக, அதை நான்காகத் தங்களுக்குள்ளே பிரித்தெடுத்தார்கள். ஆனால் அவருடைய உள் உடை தைக்கப்படாமல் மேலிருந்து கீழ்வரை நெய்யப்பட்டதாயிருந்தது.
Then the souldiers, when they had crucified Iesus, tooke his garments (and made foure partes, to euery souldier a part) and his coat: and the coat was without seame wouen from the toppe throughout.
24 எனவே அவர்கள் ஒருவரை ஒருவர் பார்த்து, “நாம் இதைக் கிழிக்கக் கூடாது. இது யாருக்குக் கிடைக்கும் என்று பார்ப்பதற்குச் சீட்டுப் போடுவோம்” என்றார்கள். “அவர்கள் என் உடைகளைத் தங்களுக்குள் பிரித்தெடுத்துக் கொண்டார்கள், எனது உடைக்காக சீட்டுப்போட்டார்கள்.” என்ற வேதவசனம் நிறைவேறும்படி இது நடந்தது. இதையே அந்த படைவீரர்கள் செய்தார்கள்.
Therefore they sayde one to another, Let vs not deuide it, but cast lots for it, whose it shall be. This was that the Scripture might be fulfilled, which sayth, They parted my garments among them, and on my coate did cast lots. So the souldiers did these things in deede.
25 இயேசுவின் சிலுவை அருகே அவருடைய தாயும், தாயின் சகோதரியும், கிலேயோப்பாவின் மனைவி மரியாளும், மகதலேனா மரியாளும் நின்றார்கள்.
Then stoode by the crosse of Iesus his mother, and his mothers sister, Marie the wife of Cleopas, and Marie Magdalene.
26 தமது தாயும், தான் நேசித்த சீடனும் அருகே நிற்பதை இயேசு கண்டபோது, அங்கே அவர் தமது தாயிடம், “அம்மா, இதோ, உன் மகன்” என்றார்.
And when Iesus sawe his mother, and the disciple standing by, whom he loued, he said vnto his mother, Woman, beholde thy sonne.
27 அந்தச் சீடனிடம், “இதோ உன் தாய்” என்றார். அந்த நேரத்திலிருந்து இந்தச் சீடன் மரியாளைத் தன் வீட்டிலே ஏற்றுக்கொண்டான்.
Then saide he to the disciple, Beholde thy mother: and from that houre, the disciple tooke her home vnto him.
28 பின்பு, எல்லாம் முழுமையாக முடிந்துவிட்டதென்று இயேசு அறிந்து, வேதவசனம் நிறைவேறும்படி அவர், “நான் தாகமாய் இருக்கிறேன்” என்றார்.
After, when Iesus knew that all things were performed, that the Scripture might be fulfilled, he said, I thirst.
29 அங்கே ஒரு சாடியில் புளித்த திராட்சை இரசம் இருந்தது. எனவே அவர்கள் ஒரு கடற்காளானை அதிலே தோய்த்து, ஒரு ஈசோப்புச் செடியின் தண்டிலே வைத்துக் கட்டி, இயேசுவின் உதடுகளில் படும்படி அதை உயர்த்தினார்கள்.
And there was set a vessell full of vineger: and they filled a spondge with vineger: and put it about an Hyssope stalke, and put it to his mouth.
30 இயேசு அந்த பானத்தை ஏற்றுக்கொண்ட பின்பு, “முடிந்தது” என்று சொன்னார். இதைச் சொன்னதும் தலையைச் சாய்த்து ஆவியை ஒப்புக்கொடுத்தார்.
Nowe when Iesus had receiued of the vineger, he saide, It is finished, and bowed his head, and gaue vp the ghost.
31 அது பஸ்கா என்ற பண்டிகைக்கான ஆயத்த நாளாயிருந்தது. அதற்கு மறுநாள் ஒரு பெரிய ஓய்வுநாள். அந்த நாளிலே உடல்கள் சிலுவையில் இருப்பதை யூதர்கள் விரும்பாததனால், சிலுவையில் தொங்கியவர்களின் கால்களை முறித்து அவர்களைக் கீழே இறக்கும்படி அவர்கள் பிலாத்துவிடம் கேட்டார்கள்.
The Iewes then (because it was the Preparation, that the bodies should not remaine vpon the crosse on the Sabbath day: for that Sabbath was an hie day) besought Pilate that their legges might be broken, and that they might be taken downe.
32 எனவே படைவீரர் வந்து, இயேசுவோடு சிலுவையில் அறையப்பட்ட முதலாவது மனிதனின் கால்களை முறித்தார்கள். பின்பு மற்றவனுடைய கால்களையும் முறித்தார்கள்.
Then came the souldiers and brake the legges of the first, and of the other, which was crucified with Iesus.
33 ஆனால் அவர்கள் இயேசுவிடம் வந்தபோது, அவர் ஏற்கெனவே மரித்திருப்பதைக் கண்டார்கள். அதனால் அவர்கள் அவருடைய கால்களை முறிக்கவில்லை.
But when they came to Iesus, and saw that he was dead alreadie, they brake not his legges.
34 ஆனால் அந்த படைவீரரில் ஒருவன் இயேசுவின் விலாவை ஈட்டியினால் குத்தினான். அப்பொழுது இரத்தமும் தண்ணீரும் பீறிட்டுப் பாய்ந்தது.
But one of the souldiers with a speare pearced his side, and foorthwith came there out blood and water.
35 அதைக்கண்ட மனிதன் சாட்சி கொடுத்தான். அவனுடைய சாட்சி உண்மையாயிருக்கிறது. தான் சொல்வது உண்மை என்று அவன் அறிவான். நீங்களும்கூட விசுவாசிக்கும்படியாகவே அவன் இதைச் சாட்சியாய்ச் சொல்கிறான்.
And he that sawe it, bare recorde, and his record is true: and he knoweth that he saith true, that ye might beleeue it.
36 “அவருடைய எலும்புகளில் ஒன்றும் முறிக்கப்படுவதில்லை” என்று எழுதியிருக்கிற வேதவசனம் நிறைவேறும்படியே இவையெல்லாம் நடந்தன.
For these things were done, that the Scripture shoulde be fulfilled, Not a bone of him shalbe broken.
37 “தாங்கள் ஈட்டியினால் குத்தியவரை அவர்கள் நோக்கிப் பார்ப்பார்கள்” என்று இன்னொரு வேதவசனமும் சொல்லுகிறது.
And againe an other Scripture saith, They shall see him whom they haue thrust through.
38 பின்பு அரிமத்தியா பட்டணத்தைச் சேர்ந்த யோசேப்பு, இயேசுவின் உடலைத் தரும்படி பிலாத்துவிடம் கேட்டான். இந்த யோசேப்பு இயேசுவின் சீடனாயிருந்தான். ஆனால் அவன் யூதருக்குப் பயந்ததினால் இரகசியமாகவே அவருக்கு சீடனாயிருந்தான். அவன் பிலாத்துவின் அனுமதியுடன் வந்து இயேசுவின் உடலை எடுத்துச் சென்றான்.
And after these things, Ioseph of Arimathea (who was a disciple of Iesus, but secretly for feare of the Iewes) besought Pilate that he might take downe the bodie of Iesus. And Pilate gaue him licence. He came then and tooke Iesus body.
39 அவனுடன் நிக்கொதேமுவும் கூடப்போனான். இவனே முன்னொரு முறை இரவிலே இயேசுவைச் சந்திக்க வந்தவன். நிக்கொதேமு வரும்போது வெள்ளைப்போளமும், சந்தனமும் கலந்த ஒரு கலவையைக் கொண்டுவந்தான். அது கிட்டத்தட்ட முப்பது கிலோ எடை இருந்தது.
And there came also Nicodemus (which first came to Iesus by night) and brought of myrrhe and aloes mingled together about an hundreth pound.
40 அவர்கள் இருவரும் இயேசுவின் உடலை இறக்கி, அந்த நறுமணப் பொருளை மென்பட்டுத் துணிகளில் வைத்து உடலைச் சுற்றிக் கட்டினார்கள். இது யூதரின் அடக்க முறைப்படி செய்யப்பட்டது.
Then tooke they the body of Iesus, and wrapped it in linnen clothes with the odours, as the maner of the Iewes is to burie.
41 இயேசு சிலுவையில் அறையப்பட்ட இடத்தில் ஒரு தோட்டமும், அந்தத் தோட்டத்தில் அதுவரை யாரும் அடக்கம் செய்யப்பட்டிராத ஒரு புதிய கல்லறையும் இருந்தது.
And in that place where Iesus was crucified, was a garden, and in the garden a newe sepulchre, wherein was neuer man yet laid.
42 அது யூதருடைய பண்டிகைக்குரிய ஆயத்த நாளாய் இருந்ததாலும், அக்கல்லறை அருகே இருந்ததாலும் அவர்கள் இயேசுவின் உடலை அந்தக் கல்லறையில் வைத்தார்கள்.
There then laide they Iesus, because of the Iewes Preparation day, for the sepulchre was neere.
