யோபு 8
1 அதற்கு சூகியனான பில்தாத் மறுமொழியாக சொன்னதாவது:
Then answered Bildad the Shuhite, and said,
2 “நீ எதுவரைக்கும் இவைகளைப் பேசிக்கொண்டிருப்பாய்? உன் வார்த்தைகள் சீற்றமாய் வீசும் காற்றைப்போல் இருக்கின்றன.
How long wilt thou speak these [things]? and [how long shall] the words of thy mouth [be like] a strong wind?
3 இறைவன் நீதியைப் புரட்டுவாரோ? எல்லாம் வல்லவர் நியாயத்தைப் புரட்டுவாரோ?
Doth God pervert judgment? or doth the Almighty pervert justice?
4 உன் பிள்ளைகள் அவருக்கு விரோதமாய்ப் பாவம் செய்தபோது, அவர்களின் பாவத்தின் தண்டனைக்கு அவர்களை ஒப்புக்கொடுத்திருக்கிறார்.
If thy children have sinned against him, and he have cast them away for their transgression;
5 நீ இறைவனை நோக்கிப்பார்த்து, எல்லாம் வல்லவரிடம் மன்றாடுவாயானால்,
If thou wouldest seek unto God betimes, and make thy supplication to the Almighty;
6 நீ தூய்மையும் நேர்மையும் உள்ளவனாயிருந்தால், இப்பொழுதும் அவர் உன் சார்பாக எழுந்து, உன்னை உனக்குரிய இடத்தில் திரும்பவும் வைப்பார்.
If thou [wert] pure and upright; surely now he would awake for thee, and make the habitation of thy righteousness prosperous.
7 உன் ஆரம்பம் அற்பமானதாயிருந்தாலும், உன் எதிர்காலம் மிகவும் செழிப்பானதாக இருக்கும்.
Though thy beginning was small, yet thy latter end should greatly increase.
8 “முந்திய தலைமுறையினரிடம் விசாரித்து, அவர்கள் முற்பிதாக்கள் கற்றுக்கொண்டதைக் கேட்டுப்பார்.
For enquire, I pray thee, of the former age, and prepare thyself to the search of their fathers:
9 நாமோ நேற்றுப் பிறந்தவர்கள், ஒன்றும் அறியாதவர்கள்; பூமியில் நமது நாட்கள் நிழலாய்த்தான் இருக்கின்றன.
(For we [are but of] yesterday, and know nothing, because our days upon earth [are] a shadow: )
10 அவர்கள் உனக்கு அறிவுறுத்திச் சொல்லமாட்டார்களா? அவர்கள் தாங்கள் விளங்கிக்கொண்டதிலிருந்து உனக்கு விளக்கமளிக்கமாட்டார்களா?
Shall not they teach thee, [and] tell thee, and utter words out of their heart?
11 சேறில்லாமல் நாணல் ஓங்கி வளருமோ? தண்ணீரில்லாமல் கோரைப்புல் முளைக்குமோ?
Can the rush grow up without mire? can the flag grow without water?
12 அவை வளர்ந்து அறுக்கப்படாமலிருந்தும், மற்றப் புற்களைவிட மிக விரைவாக வாடிப்போகின்றன.
Whilst it [is] yet in his greenness, [and] not cut down, it withereth before any [other] herb.
13 இறைவனை மறக்கிற அனைவரின் வழிகளும் இவ்வாறே இருக்கும்; இறைவனை மறுதலிப்போரின் நம்பிக்கையும் அப்படியே அழிந்துபோகும்.
So [are] the paths of all that forget God; and the hypocrite’s hope shall perish:
14 அப்படிப்பட்டவன் நம்பியிருப்பவை வலுவற்றவை; அவன் சிலந்தி வலைகளிலேயே நம்பிக்கை வைத்திருக்கிறான்.
Whose hope shall be cut off, and whose trust [shall be] a spider’s web.
15 அவன் அறுந்துபோகும் வலையில் சாய்கிறான்; அவன் அதைப் பிடித்துத் தொங்கினாலும் அது அவனைத் தாங்காது.
He shall lean upon his house, but it shall not stand: he shall hold it fast, but it shall not endure.
16 அவன் வெயிலில் நீர் ஊற்றப்பட்ட செடியைப்போல் இருக்கிறான்; அது தன் தளிர்களைத் தோட்டம் முழுவதும் படரச்செய்து,
He [is] green before the sun, and his branch shooteth forth in his garden.
17 தன் வேர்களினால் கற்களுக்குள்ளே தனக்கு இடத்தைத் தேடுகிறது.
His roots are wrapped about the heap, [and] seeth the place of stones.
18 அது அதின் இடத்திலே இருந்து பிடுங்கப்படும்போது அது இருந்த இடம், ‘நான் ஒருபோதும் உன்னைக் கண்டதில்லை’ என மறுதலிக்கும்.
If he destroy him from his place, then [it] shall deny him, [saying], I have not seen thee.
19 அதின் உயிர் வாடிப்போகிறது, அந்த நிலத்திலிருந்து வேறு செடிகள் வளர்கின்றன.
Behold, this [is] the joy of his way, and out of the earth shall others grow.
20 “இறைவன் குற்றமில்லாதவனைத் தள்ளிவிடமாட்டார்; தீமை செய்பவர்களின் கைகளைப் பலப்படுத்தவும் மாட்டார்.
Behold, God will not cast away a perfect [man], neither will he help the evil doers:
21 அவர் இன்னும் உன் வாயைச் சிரிப்பினாலும், உன் உதடுகளை மகிழ்ச்சியின் சத்தத்தினாலும் நிரப்புவார்.
Till he fill thy mouth with laughing, and thy lips with rejoicing.
22 உன் பகைவர்கள் வெட்கத்தால் மூடப்படுவார்கள், கொடியவர்களின் கூடாரங்கள் இல்லாதொழிந்து போகும்.”
They that hate thee shall be clothed with shame; and the dwelling place of the wicked shall come to nought.
