யோபு 34
1 தொடர்ந்து எலிகூ சொன்னதாவது:
And Elihu commenced, and said,
2 “ஞானமுள்ள மனிதர்களே, என் வார்த்தைகளைக் கேளுங்கள்; கல்விமான்களே, எனக்குச் செவிகொடுங்கள்.
Hear, O ye wise men, my words; and ye that have knowledge, give ear unto me.
3 நாவு உணவைச் சுவைப்பதுபோல், காது வார்த்தைகளை நிதானிக்கிறது.
For the ear proveth words, as the palate tasteth the food.
4 வாருங்கள், சரியானது எது என்பதை நாம் நிதானிப்போம்; எது நல்லது என்பதை நாம் ஒன்றாய்க் கற்றுக்கொள்வோம்.
Let us choose for ourselves what is just: let us acknowledge between ourselves what is good.
5 “யோபுவோ, ‘நான் குற்றமற்றவன், இறைவன் எனக்கு நீதிவழங்க மறுக்கிறார்.
For Job hath said, “I am righteous; and God hath taken away justice from me.
6 நான் சரியானவனாய் இருந்தபோதிலும், பொய்யனாகவே எண்ணப்படுகிறேன். குற்றமற்றவனாய் இருந்தபோதிலும், அவருடைய அம்பு ஆறாதப் புண்ணை உண்டுபண்ணுகிறது’ என்கிறார்.
Should I lie concerning the justice due me? incurable is [my wound from] the arrow I bear in me without any transgression.”
7 தண்ணீர் பருகுவதைப்போல் கேலிசெய்யும் யோபுவைப் போன்றவர் உண்டோ?
What man is there like Job, who drinketh scorning like water,
8 அவர் தீமை செய்கிறவர்களின் கூட்டத்தில் சேர்ந்து, கொடிய மனிதர்களுடன் வாசம்பண்ணுகிறார்.
And is on the road to keep company with the wrong-doers, and to walk with men of wickedness?
9 ஏனெனில் அவர், ‘இறைவனுக்குப் பிரியமாக நடக்க முயற்சிப்பதினால் ஒரு பயனும் இல்லை’ என்கிறாரே.
For he hath said, “It profiteth a man nothing when he acteth according to the pleasure of God.”
10 “புத்திமான்களே, நான் சொல்வதைக் கேளுங்கள். தீமை இறைனுக்கும், அநீதி எல்லாம் வல்லவருக்கும் தூரமாயிருக்கிறது.
Therefore ye men of sense hearken unto me: far is it from God to practise wickedness; and from the Almighty to do wrong!
11 மனிதருடைய செய்கைக்குத் தக்கதாக அவர் பலனளிக்கிறார். அவர்களுடைய நடக்கைக்குத் தகுந்ததை அவர் அவர்களுக்கு வரப்பண்ணுகிறார்.
For the work of a son of earth doth he recompense unto him, and according to the path of man doth he permit things to occur to him.
12 இறைவன் அநியாயம் செய்யாமலும், எல்லாம் வல்லவர் நீதியைப் புரட்டாமலும் இருக்கிறது உண்மையே.
Yea, surely God will not condemn unjustly, nor will the Almighty pervert justice.
13 பூமியின் மேலாக மனிதரை நியமித்தவர் யார்? முழு உலகத்தையும் அவர்களுடைய பொறுப்பில் கொடுத்தவர் யார்?
Who hath given him a charge concerning the earth? or who hath intrusted [him] the whole world?
14 அவர் தமது ஆவியையும் தமது சுவாசத்தையும் திரும்ப எடுத்துக்கொள்ள நோக்கங்கொண்டால்,
If he were to set his heart upon man, he would gather unto himself his spirit and his breath:
15 எல்லா மனுக்குலமும் ஒன்றாய் அழிந்துபோகும்; மனிதர்களும் மண்ணுக்குத் திரும்புவார்கள்.
All flesh would perish together, and the son of earth would return again unto dust.
16 “உமக்கு விளங்கும் ஆற்றல் இருந்தால் இதைக் கேளும், நான் சொல்வதற்குச் செவிகொடும்.
If then thou wishest to understand, hear this: give ear to the sound of my words.
17 நீதியை வெறுப்பவன் ஆள முடியுமோ? நீர் நீதியும் வல்லமையுமுள்ளவரை குற்றப்படுத்துவீரோ?
Is it possible that he who hateth justice should govern? or wilt thou condemn the righteous mighty One?
18 அரசர்களைப் பார்த்து, ‘ஒன்றுக்கும் உதவாதவர்கள்,’ என்றும், உயர்குடி மக்களைப் பார்த்து, ‘நீங்கள் கொடியவர்கள்’ என்றும் சொல்வார்.
[Is it fit] to say to a king, Thou art worthless? and to princes, Ye are wicked?
19 அவர் இளவரசர்களுக்குப் பாரபட்சம் காட்டுவதில்லை, ஏழையைவிட செல்வந்தனுக்குத் தயவு காட்டுவதுமில்லை; ஏனெனில், அவர்கள் எல்லோருமே அவருடைய கரங்களின் படைப்பல்லவா?
Whereas he is one that showeth no favor to chieftains, and distinguisheth not the rich before the indigent; for all of them are the work of his hands.
20 அவர்கள் நள்ளிரவில் ஒரு நொடியில் சாகிறார்கள்; அசைக்கப்பட்டு இல்லாமல் போகிறார்கள்; பலவான்களும் மனித கரமல்லாத ஒரு கரத்தினால் அகற்றப்படுகிறார்கள்.
In a moment will they die, and in the midst of the night; people are moved, and pass away: and the mighty will be removed without a human hand.
21 “இறைவனுடைய கண்கள் மனிதருடைய வழிகளை நோக்கியிருக்கிறது; அவர்களுடைய நடைகளையெல்லாம் அவர் பார்க்கிறார்.
For big eyes are upon the ways of man, and all his steps doth he see.
22 தீமை செய்கிறவர்கள் தங்களை ஒளித்துக்கொள்வதற்கு இருளான இடமோ, காரிருளோ இல்லை.
There is no darkness, nor shadow of death, where the evil-doers can hide themselves.
23 இறைவன் மனிதரை மேலும் சோதிக்கமாட்டார்; அவர்கள் அவர்முன் வழக்காடவேண்டிய அவசியமும் இல்லை.
For he need not direct [his attention] a long time upon man, that he should enter into judgment before God.
24 இறைவன் விசாரணையின்றியே வல்லமையுள்ளவர்களைச் சிதறடித்து, அவர்களுக்குரிய இடத்தில் வேறு மனிதரை அமர்த்துகிறார்.
He breaketh down mighty men without [long] searching, and placeth others in their stead.
25 ஏனெனில், அவர் அவர்களுடைய செயல்களைக் குறித்துக்கொள்கிறார்; இரவில் அவர்களைக் கவிழ்க்கிறார், அவர்கள் நசுங்கிப் போகிறார்கள்.
For the reason that he knoweth their deeds: therefore he overturneth them in the night, and they are crushed.
26 அவர் அவர்களின் கொடுமையின் நிமித்தம், எல்லோரும் காணும்படியாக அவர்களைத் தண்டிக்கிறார்.
Among wicked men doth he strike them, in the place where [many] see them:
27 ஏனெனில் அவர்கள் இறைவனைப் பின்பற்றுவதிலிருந்து விலகி, அவருடைய வழிகளை மதியாமல் போகிறார்கள்.
Because they have departed from following him, and have not considered all his ways.
28 அவர்கள் ஏழைகளின் அழுகுரலை இறைவனுக்கு சேரவைத்தனர்; அவர் அவர்களின் அழுகையைக் கேட்டார்.
Bringing before them the cry of the indigent, and the cry of the afflicted which he had to hear.
29 மவுனமாய் இருக்கிறவரைக் குற்றப்படுத்தாதே; நாட்டிற்கும், மனிதனுக்கும், அவர் தமது முகத்தை மறைத்தால் அவரைப் பார்ப்பவன் யார்?
When he now granteth rest, who will condemn [him]! and when he hideth his face, who can behold him? whether it be against a nation, or against one man, it is the same:
30 அதினால் இறைவனற்றவர்கள் ஆட்சிசெய்யாமலும், மக்கள் கண்ணியில் சிக்காமலும் தடுக்கிறார்.
That no hypocritical man may reign, that such shall not be a mare to the people.
31 “யாராவது இறைவனிடம் இப்படிக் கேட்பதுண்டா: ‘நான் குற்றவாளி, இனிப் பாவம் செய்யமாட்டேன்.
For truly it is only fitting to say unto God, “I bear [cheerfully], I will not do any wrong;
32 நான் காணாதவற்றை எனக்குப் போதியும், நான் அக்கிரமம் செய்திருந்தால் இனிமேல் அதைச் செய்யமாட்டேன்.’
What I cannot see myself, do thou truly teach me; if I have done what is unjust, I will do so no more.”
33 நீர் மனந்திரும்ப மறுக்கும்போது உமது மன எண்ணப்படி இறைவன் வெகுமதி கொடுக்கவேண்டுமோ? நானல்ல, நீரே தீர்மானித்துக்கொள்ளும்; நீர் அறிந்ததை எனக்குச் சொல்லும்.
Should he then according to thy view send a recompense, because thou hast rejected him? “Because thou must choose, and not I?” and what thou knowest, do speak.
34 “நான் சொல்வதைக் கேட்ட விளங்கும் ஆற்றலுள்ளவர்களும் ஞானமுள்ளவர்களும் என்னிடம்,
Men of sense will say unto me, and every wise man who heareth me,
35 ‘யோபு அறிவில்லாமல் பேசுகிறார்; அவருடைய வார்த்தைகள் ஞானமில்லாதவை என்றும்,
That Job hath not spoken with knowledge, and that his words are without intelligence.
36 யோபு கொடியவரைப்போல் பேசியதற்காக முற்றிலும் சோதிக்கப்பட வேண்டும்.
Oh that Job may therefore be probed continually, in order to give answers against sinful men.
37 தம்முடைய பாவத்துடன் மீறுதலையும் சேர்த்துக் கொள்கிறார்; அவர் எங்கள் மத்தியில் ஏளனமாய்க் கைகொட்டி, இறைவனுக்கு விரோதமான வார்த்தைகளைப் பேசினார்’ என்று என்னிடம் சொல்கிறார்கள்.”
For he addeth unto his sin transgression: among us he uttereth too many loud words, and multiplieth his speeches against God.
