யோபு 31

1 “நான் ஒரு பெண்ணையும் இச்சையுடன் பார்க்கமாட்டேன், என என் கண்களோடு ஒப்பந்தம் செய்தேன்.

I made a couenant with mine eyes: why then should I thinke on a mayde?

2 ஆனாலும் உன்னதத்தில் இருக்கும் இறைவனிடமிருந்து என்ன பங்கு? உன்னதத்தில் இருக்கும் எல்லாம் வல்லவர் அளிக்கும் சொத்து என்ன?

For what portion should I haue of God from aboue? and what inheritance of the Almightie from on hie?

3 கொடியவனுக்கு பேராபத்தும், தவறு செய்பவர்களுக்குப் பேரழிவும் அல்லவா?

Is not destruction to the wicked and strange punishment to the workers of iniquitie?

4 அவர் என் வழிகளைக் காணவில்லையோ? என் ஒவ்வொரு காலடியையும் எண்ணவில்லையோ?

Doeth not he beholde my wayes and tell all my steps?

5 “நான் பொய்யாய் நடந்திருந்து, என் கால்கள் ஏமாற்ற விரைந்திருந்தால்,

If I haue walked in vanitie, or if my foote hath made haste to deceite,

6 இறைவன் தராசில் என்னை நிறுத்தட்டும், நான் குற்றமற்றவன் என்பதை அவர் அறிந்துகொள்வார்.

Let God weigh me in the iust balance, and he shall know mine vprightnes.

7 என் காலடிகள் பாதையைவிட்டு விலகியிருந்தால், அல்லது என் உள்ளம் என் கண்களைப் பின்பற்றியிருந்தால், அல்லது என் கைகள் கறைப்பட்டிருந்தால்,

If my steppe hath turned out of the way, or mine heart hath walked after mine eye, or if any blot hath cleaued to mine handes,

8 அப்பொழுது நான் விதைப்பதை மற்றவர்கள் உண்ணட்டும், என் விளைச்சல் வேரோடே பிடுங்கப்படட்டும்.

Let me sowe, and let another eate: yea, let my plantes be rooted out.

9 “என் உள்ளம் ஒரு பெண்ணால் கவரப்பட்டு, அயலானுடைய வாசலை நான் எட்டிப் பார்த்திருந்தால்,

If mine heart hath bene deceiued by a woman, or if I haue layde wayte at the doore of my neighbour,

10 அப்பொழுது என் மனைவி இன்னொருவனுக்கு மாவரைப்பாளாக; பிற மனிதர்கள் அவளுடன் உறவுகொள்ளட்டும்.

Let my wife grinde vnto another man, and let other men bow downe vpon her:

11 ஏனெனில், அது வெட்கக்கேடான, தண்டிக்கப்படவேண்டிய பாவமாயிருக்கும்.

For this is a wickednes, and iniquitie to bee condemned:

12 அது பாதாளம்வரை அழிக்கும் நெருப்பு; அது என் விளைச்சலை வேரோடே பிடுங்கிவிடும்.

Yea, this is a fire that shall deuoure to destruction, and which shall roote out al mine increase,

13 “என் வேலைக்காரருக்கும், வேலைக்காரிகளுக்கும் எனக்கு எதிராக மனக்குறை இருந்தபோது, நான் அவர்களுக்கு நீதிவழங்க மறுத்திருந்தால்,

If I did contemne the iudgement of my seruant, and of my mayde, when they did contend with me,

14 இறைவன் என்னை எதிர்கொள்ளும்போது, நான் என்ன செய்வேன்? அவர் என்னிடம் கணக்குக் கேட்கும்போது நான் என்ன பதில் சொல்வேன்?

What then shall I do when God standeth vp? and when he shall visit me, what shall I answere?

15 என்னை கருப்பையில் உண்டாக்கியவர் அவர்களையும் உண்டாக்கவில்லையோ? எங்கள் இருவரையுமே எங்கள் தாய்மாரின் வயிற்றில் உருவாக்கியவர் அவரல்லவோ?

He that hath made me in the wombe, hath he not made him? hath not he alone facioned vs in the wombe?

16 “நான் ஏழைகளின் தேவைகளைக் கொடுக்க மறுத்து, விதவைகளின் கண்களைக் கண்ணீர் விடுவதினால் இளைக்கப் பண்ணியிருக்கிறேனா?

If I restrained the poore of their desire, or haue caused the eyes of the widow to faile,

17 அல்லது அநாதைகளோடு என் உணவைப் பகிர்ந்துகொள்ளாமல், நான் மட்டும் சாப்பிட்டிருக்கிறேனா?

Or haue eaten my morsels alone, and the fatherles hath not eaten thereof,

18 ஆனால் நானோ இளவயதுமுதல் அவர்களை ஒரு தகப்பனைப்போல் வளர்த்தேனே; என் பிறப்பிலிருந்தே விதவைகளுக்கு நான் வழிகாட்டினேனே.

(For from my youth hee hath growen vp with me as with a father, and from my mothers wombe I haue bene a guide vnto her)

19 உடுக்க உடையின்றி ஒருவன் அழிவதையோ, அல்லது ஏழை ஒருவன் உடையின்றி இருப்பதையோ நான் கண்டும்,

If I haue seene any perish for want of clothing, or any poore without couering,

20 என் செம்மறியாடுகளின் கம்பளி, அவன் குளிரைப் போக்காததினால் அவன் இருதயம் என்னை ஆசீர்வதிக்காமல் இருக்குமோ?

If his loynes haue not blessed me, because he was warmed with the fleece of my sheepe,

21 நீதிமன்றத்தில் எனக்குச் செல்வாக்கு இருப்பதை நான் அறிந்திருந்தும், அநாதைக்கு விரோதமாக நான் எனது கைகளை உயர்த்தியிருந்தால்,

If I haue lift vp mine hande against the fatherlesse, when I saw that I might helpe him in the gate,

22 என் தோள்பட்டை தோளிலிருந்து கழன்று போகட்டும், அது மூட்டிலிருந்து முறிந்து போகட்டும்.

Let mine arme fal from my shoulder, and mine arme be broken from the bone.

23 இறைவனுடைய தண்டனைக்கு நான் பயந்ததினாலும், அவருடைய மாட்சிமையின் பக்தி எனக்கிருந்ததினாலும் தீமையை என்னால் செய்ய முடியவில்லை.

For Gods punishment was fearefull vnto me, and I could not be deliuered from his highnes.

24 “நான் என் நம்பிக்கையை பொன்னின்மேல் வைத்து, சுத்த தங்கத்தைப் பார்த்து, ‘நீயே என் பாதுகாப்பு’ எனச் சொல்லியிருந்தால்,

If I made gold mine hope, or haue sayd to the wedge of golde, Thou art my confidence,

25 என் செல்வம் பெரியதென்றும், அதை என் கைகளே சேர்த்ததென்றும் நான் மகிழ்ந்திருந்தால்,

If I reioyced because my substance was great, or because mine hand had gotten much,

26 பிரகாசமுள்ள சூரியனையும், தன் மகிமையில் நகர்ந்து செல்லும் சந்திரனையும் கண்டு அதைப் பெரிதாக மதித்து,

If I did behold the sunne, when it shined, or the moone, walking in her brightnes,

27 என் மனம் இரகசியமாகக் மயங்கி, நான் அவைகளுக்கு மரியாதை முத்தமிட்டிருந்தால்,

If mine heart did flatter me in secrete, or if my mouth did kisse mine hand,

28 அப்பொழுது இவைகளும் தண்டனைக்குரிய பாவங்களாய் இருந்திருக்கும்; நான் என் உன்னதத்திலுள்ள இறைவனுக்கு உண்மையற்றவனாய் இருந்திருப்பேன்.

(This also had bene an iniquitie to be condemned: for I had denied the God aboue)

29 “என் பகைவனுக்கு வரும் அழிவைக் கண்டு நான் மகிழ்ந்தேனோ? தீமை அவனுக்கு வந்தபோது, நான் ஏளனம் செய்ததுண்டோ?

If I reioyced at his destruction that hated me, or was mooued to ioye when euill came vpon him,

30 இல்லையே! நான் அவனுடைய வாழ்வுக்கு எதிராகச் சாபமிட்டுப் பாவம் செய்யும்படி என் வாயை அனுமதித்ததில்லையே.

Neither haue I suffred my mouth to sinne, by wishing a curse vnto his soule.

31 ‘யோபுவின் உணவை உண்டு திருப்தியடையாதவன் யார்?’ என என் வீட்டிலுள்ள மனிதர் ஒருபோதும் சொல்லாது இருந்ததுண்டோ?

Did not the men of my Tabernacle say, Who shall giue vs of his flesh? we can not bee satisfied.

32 வழிப்போக்கருக்கு என் வாசல்களைத் திறந்தேன் பிறர் வீதியில் தன் இரவைக் கழிக்கவில்லையே!

The stranger did not lodge in the streete, but I opened my doores vnto him, that went by the way.

33 மனிதர் செய்வதுபோல, என் குற்றத்தை என் உள்ளத்தில் ஒளித்து, என் பாவத்தை மறைத்தேனோ?

If I haue hid my sinne, as Adam, concealing mine iniquitie in my bosome,

34 நான் மக்கள் கூட்டத்திற்குப் பயந்ததாலும், குலத்தவர்களின் இகழ்ச்சிக்கு அஞ்சினதாலும் வெளியே போகாமல் மவுனமாய் இருந்தேனோ?

Though I could haue made afraid a great multitude, yet the most contemptible of the families did feare me: so I kept silence, and went not out of the doore.

35 “நான் சொல்வதைக் கேட்க யாரும் இல்லையோ? இதோ நான் சொன்ன எனது எதிர்வாதத்தில் கையொப்பமிடுகிறேன். எல்லாம் வல்லவர் எனக்குப் பதிலளிக்கட்டும், என்னைக் குற்றம் சாட்டுகிறவர் தனது குற்றச்சாட்டை எழுதிக்கொடுக்கட்டும்.

Oh that I had some to heare me! beholde my signe that the Almightie will witnesse for me: though mine aduersary should write a booke against me,

36 நிச்சயமாக அதை நான் என் தோளின்மேல் வைத்து, ஒரு மகுடத்தைப்போல் சூட்டிக்கொள்வேன்.

Woulde not I take it vpon my shoulder, and binde it as a crowne vnto me?

37 நான் ஒரு இளவரசனைப்போல் அவரை அணுகி, என் ஒவ்வொரு காலடிக்கும் கணக்குக் கொடுப்பேன்.

I will tell him the nomber of my goings, and goe vnto him as to a prince.

38 “என் நிலம் எனக்கெதிராக அழுது புலம்பினாலும், அதின் வரப்புகள் கண்ணீரால் நனைந்திருந்தாலும்,

If my lande cry against me, or the furrowes thereof complayne together,

39 நான் பணம் கொடுக்காமல் அதின் விளைவை விழுங்கியிருந்தாலும், அல்லது அதின் குத்தகைக்காரனை உள்ளமுடையச் செய்திருந்தாலும்,

If I haue eaten the fruites thereof without siluer: or if I haue grieued the soules of the masters thereof,

40 அந்த நிலத்தில் கோதுமைக்குப் பதிலாக முள்ளும், வாற்கோதுமைக்குப் பதிலாகக் களையும் முளைக்கட்டும்.” யோபுவின் வார்த்தைகள் இத்துடன் முடிவடைகின்றன.

Let thistles growe in steade of wheate, and cockle in the stead of Barley. The wordes of Iob are ended.
