எரேமியா 34

1 பாபிலோன் அரசன் நேபுகாத்நேச்சாரும், அவனுடைய முழு இராணுவமும், அவனுடைய ஆளுகைக்குட்பட்டிருந்த எல்லா அரசுகளும், அரசுகளின் மக்களும், எருசலேமுக்கும் அதைச் சேர்ந்த எல்லா பட்டணங்களுக்கும் விரோதமாகச் சண்டையிட்டுக் கொண்டிருந்தார்கள். அப்பொழுது யெகோவாவிடமிருந்து இந்த வார்த்தை எரேமியாவுக்கு வந்தது:

The word which came unto Jeremiah from the LORD, when Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, and all his army, and all the kingdoms of the earth of his dominion, and all the people, fought against Jerusalem, and against all the cities thereof, saying,

2 இஸ்ரயேலின் இறைவனாகிய யெகோவா சொல்வது இதுவே, “நீ போய் யூதாவின் அரசனாகிய சிதேக்கியாவிடம் சொல்லவேண்டியதாவது; யெகோவா சொல்வது இதுவே: இப்பட்டணத்தைப் பாபிலோன் அரசனின் கையில் கொடுக்கப்போகிறேன். அவன் அதை எரித்துப்போடுவான்.

Thus says the LORD, the God of Israel; Go and speak to Zedekiah king of Judah, and tell him, Thus says the LORD; Behold, I will give this city into the hand of the king of Babylon, and he shall burn it with fire:

3 நீ அவர்களுடைய கையிலிருந்து தப்பமாட்டாய். நீ நிச்சயமாக சிறைப்பிடிக்கப்பட்டு அவனுடைய கையில் ஒப்புக்கொடுக்கப்படுவாய். நீ பாபிலோன் அரசனை உன் சொந்தக் கண்களால் காண்பாய். அவன் உன்னோடு நேருக்கு நேராகக் பேசுவான். நீ பாபிலோனுக்குப் போவாய்.

And you shall not escape out of his hand, but shall surely be taken, and delivered into his hand; and your eyes shall behold the eyes of the king of Babylon, and he shall speak with you mouth to mouth, and you shall go to Babylon.

4 “‘எனினும் யூதா அரசனாகிய சிதேக்கியாவே! யெகோவாவின் வாக்குத்தத்தத்தைக் கேள். யெகோவா உன்னைக் குறித்துச் சொல்வது இதுவே: நீ வாளால் மரிக்கமாட்டாய்.

Yet hear the word of the LORD, O Zedekiah king of Judah; Thus says the LORD of you, You shall not die by the sword:

5 நீ சமாதானத்துடன் மரிப்பாய். அத்துடன் உனக்குமுன் இருந்த அரசர்களாகிய உன்னுடைய தந்தையர்களை அடக்கம்பண்ணும்போது, மக்கள் நறுமணப் பொருட்களை எரித்துக் கனம்பண்ணியதுபோல, உனக்கும் நறுமணப் பொருட்களை எரித்துக் கனம் பண்ணுவார்கள். “ஐயோ, எங்கள் தலைவனே!” என்று சொல்லிப் புலம்புவார்கள். இந்த வாக்குத்தத்தத்தை நானே கொடுக்கிறேன்’ என்று யெகோவா கூறுகிறார்.”

But you shall die in peace: and with the burnings of your fathers, the former kings which were before you, so shall they burn odours for you; and they will lament you, saying, Ah lord! for I have pronounced the word, says the LORD.

6 பின்பு இறைவாக்கினன் எரேமியா, இந்த எல்லா வார்த்தைகளையும் எருசலேமில் யூதாவின் அரசனாகிய சிதேக்கியாவிடம் சொன்னான்.

Then Jeremiah the prophet spoke all these words unto Zedekiah king of Judah in Jerusalem,

7 அவ்வேளையில் பாபிலோன் அரசனுடைய இராணுவம் எருசலேமுக்கு விரோதமாகவும், யூதாவின் பட்டணங்களில் மீதியாயிருந்த லாகீசுக்கும், அசேக்காவுக்கும் விரோதமாகவும் போரிட்டுக்கொண்டிருந்தது. இவைகள் மட்டுமே யூதாவில் தப்பியிருந்த பாதுகாப்பான பட்டணங்கள்.

When the king of Babylon's army fought against Jerusalem, and against all the cities of Judah that were left, against Lachish, and against Azekah: for these defenced cities remained of the cities of Judah.

8 சிதேக்கியா அரசன், அடிமைகளுக்கு விடுதலை கொடுப்பதற்காக எருசலேமில் இருந்த எல்லா மக்களோடும் ஒரு உடன்படிக்கை செய்தான். அப்பொழுது யெகோவாவிடமிருந்து எரேமியாவுக்கு வார்த்தை வந்தது.

This is the word that came unto Jeremiah from the LORD, after that the king Zedekiah had made a covenant with all the people which were at Jerusalem, to proclaim liberty unto them;

9 அந்த உடன்படிக்கையாவது: “ஒவ்வொருவனும் தன்தன் எபிரெய அடிமைகளான ஆண்களையும், பெண்களையும் விடுதலையாக்க வேண்டும். ஒருவரும் தன் சகோதரனாகிய யூதனை அடிமையாக வைத்திருக்கக்கூடாது” என்பதே.

That every man should let his manservant, and every man his maidservant, being an Hebrew or an Hebrewess, go free; that none should serve himself of them, to know, of a Jew his brother.

10 இந்த உடன்படிக்கைக்கு உட்பட்ட எல்லா அதிகாரிகளும், மக்களும் தங்கள் ஆண் அடிமைகளையும், பெண் அடிமைகளையும் விடுதலையாக்கச் சம்மதித்தார்கள். அவர்கள் தொடர்ந்து தங்கள் அடிமைகளை அடிமைத்தனத்தில் வைத்திராமல் விடுதலையாக்கினார்கள்.

Now when all the princes, and all the people, which had entered into the covenant, heard that every one should let his manservant, and every one his maidservant, go free, that none should make use of them any more, then they obeyed, and let them go.

11 ஆனால் அதன்பின் தங்கள் மனதை மாற்றி தாங்கள் விடுவித்த அடிமைகளைத் திரும்பவும் அடிமைகளாக்கிக் கொண்டார்கள்.

But afterward they turned, and caused the servants and the handmaids, whom they had let go free, to return, and brought them into subjection for servants and for handmaids.

12 அப்பொழுது யெகோவாவின் வார்த்தை எரேமியாவுக்கு வந்தது.

Therefore the word of the LORD came to Jeremiah from the LORD, saying,

13 “இஸ்ரயேலின் இறைவனாகிய யெகோவா, கூறுவது இதுவே: அடிமைத்தன நாடான எகிப்திலிருந்து உங்கள் முற்பிதாக்களை நான் கொண்டுவந்தபோது, அவர்களோடு ஒரு உடன்படிக்கை பண்ணினேன். நான் சொன்னதாவது:

Thus says the LORD, the God of Israel; I made a covenant with your fathers in the day that I brought them forth out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondmen, saying,

14 ‘ஒவ்வொரு ஏழாம் வருடமும், நீங்கள் ஒவ்வொருவரும், தன்னைத்தானே உங்களிடம் விற்றுப்போட்ட, உங்கள் எபிரெய சகோதரனை விடுதலை பண்ணவேண்டும். அவன் உங்களுக்கு ஆறு வருடம் பணிசெய்தபின் நீங்கள் அவனை விடுதலை செய்யவேண்டும் என்பதாகும்.’ ஆனால் உங்கள் முற்பிதாக்களோ எனக்கு செவிகொடுக்கவுமில்லை, எனக்கு கவனம் செலுத்தவும் இல்லை.

At the end of seven years let all of you go every man his brother an Hebrew, which has been sold unto you; and when he has served you six years, you shall let him go free from you: but your fathers hearkened not unto me, neither inclined their ear.

15 நீங்கள் இந்நாளில் மனந்திரும்பி, என் பார்வையில் சரியானதைச் செய்தீர்கள். நீங்கள் ஒவ்வொருவரும் உங்கள் சகோதரருக்கு விடுதலையை அறிவித்தீர்கள்; அத்துடன் என் பெயரைக்கொண்ட என்னுடைய ஆலயத்தில், என் முன்னாக ஒரு உடன்படிக்கையையும் செய்தீர்கள்.

And all of you were now turned, and had done right in my sight, in proclaiming liberty every man to his neighbour; and all of you had made a covenant before me in the house which is called by my name:

16 ஆனால் இப்பொழுது மறுபுறம் திரும்பி நீங்கள் என் பெயரைக் கறைப்படுத்திவிட்டீர்கள். நீங்கள், தாம் விரும்பிய இடத்திற்குப் போக விடுதலையாக்கி அனுப்பிவிட்ட ஆண், பெண் அடிமைகளைத் திரும்பவும் எடுத்துக்கொண்டீர்கள். நீங்கள் திரும்பவும் அவர்களை வற்புறுத்தி அடிமைகளாக்கி இருக்கிறீர்கள்.

But all of you turned and polluted my name, and caused every man his servant, and every man his handmaid, whom he had set at liberty at their pleasure, to return, and brought them into subjection, to be unto you for servants and for handmaids.

17 “ஆகையால் யெகோவா சொல்வது இதுவே: நீங்கள் எனக்குக் கீழ்ப்படியவில்லை. நீங்கள் ஒவ்வொருவனும் உங்கள் சகோதரருக்கு விடுதலையை அறிவிக்கவுமில்லை. எனவே நான் இப்பொழுது உங்களுக்கு விடுதலையை அறிவிக்கிறேன். அது வாளினாலும், பஞ்சத்தினாலும், கொள்ளைநோயினாலும் விழுவதற்கான விடுதலை என யெகோவா அறிவிக்கிறார். நான் உங்களை பூமியின் எல்லா அரசுகளுக்கும் அருவருப்பாக்குவேன்.

Therefore thus says the LORD; All of you have not hearkened unto me, in proclaiming liberty, every one to his brother, and every man to his neighbour: behold, I proclaim a liberty for you, says the LORD, to the sword, to the pestilence, and to the famine; and I will make you to be removed into all the kingdoms of the earth.

18 இந்த மனிதர் என் உடன்படிக்கையை மீறி, எனக்கு முன்பாகத் தாங்கள் செய்துகொண்ட உடன்படிக்கையின் நிபந்தனைகளை நிறைவேற்றாமல் போனார்கள். அவர்கள் கன்றை இரண்டாகப் பிளந்து, அந்தத் துண்டுகளுக்கிடையே நடந்து போனார்களே. அந்தக் கன்றுக்குச் செய்யப்பட்டது போலவே நானும் அவர்களுக்குச் செய்வேன்.

And I will give the men that have transgressed my covenant, which have not performed the words of the covenant which they had made before me, when they cut the calf in two, and passed between the parts thereof,

19 கன்றுக்குட்டியின் துண்டுகளுக்கிடையில் நடந்துபோன யூதா மற்றும் எருசலேமின் தலைவர்களையும், அரண்மனை அதிகாரிகளையும், ஆசாரியர்களையும், நாட்டு மக்கள் அனைவரையும்,

The princes of Judah, and the princes of Jerusalem, the eunuchs, and the priests, and all the people of the land, which passed between the parts of the calf;

20 அவர்களுடைய உயிரை வாங்கத் தேடுகிற பகைவரின் கையில் நான் ஒப்புக்கொடுப்பேன். அவர்களுடைய சடலங்கள் ஆகாயத்துப் பறவைகளுக்கும், பூமியின் மிருகங்களுக்கும் உணவாகும்.

I will even give them into the hand of their enemies, and into the hand of them that seek their life: and their dead bodies shall be for food unto the fowls of the heaven, and to the beasts of the earth.

21 “நான் யூதாவின் அரசனாகிய சிதேக்கியாவையும், அவனுடைய அதிகாரிகளையும், அவர்களுடைய உயிரை வாங்கத் தேடுகிற பகைவர்களின் கையில் ஒப்படைப்பேன். உங்களைவிட்டுப்போன பாபிலோன் அரசனுடைய இராணுவத்தின் கையில் அவர்களை ஒப்புக்கொடுப்பேன்.

And Zedekiah king of Judah and his princes will I give into the hand of their enemies, and into the hand of them that seek their life, and into the hand of the king of Babylon's army, which are gone up from you.

22 நானே கட்டளை கொடுத்து, அவர்களை இப்பட்டணத்திற்குத் திரும்பக் கொண்டுவருவேன் என்று யெகோவா அறிவிக்கிறார். அவர்கள் அதற்கு விரோதமாய் போரிட்டு அதைப் பிடித்துச் சுட்டெரிப்பார்கள். நான் யூதாவின் பட்டணங்களையும், ஒருவரும் அவைகளில் குடியிராமல் பாழாய்ப் போகச்செய்வேன்.”

Behold, I will command, says the LORD, and cause them to return to this city; and they shall fight against it, and take it, and burn it with fire: and I will make the cities of Judah a desolation without an inhabitant.
