எரேமியா 3

1 “ஒரு மனிதன் தன் மனைவியை விவாகரத்து செய்தபின்பு, அவள் அவனைவிட்டு, போய் வேறொரு மனிதனைத் திருமணம் செய்தால், முந்திய கணவன் அவளிடம் திரும்பிப் போகலாமோ? அவ்விதம் செய்தால் நாடு முழுவதும் கறைப்படுத்தப்பட்டுப் போகாதோ? நீயோ பல காதலர்களுடன் வேசியாக வாழ்ந்திருக்கிறாய். இப்பொழுது என்னிடம் திரும்புவாயா?” என்று யெகோவா அறிவிக்கிறார்.

They say, If a man puts away his wife, and she goes from him, and become another man's, will he return to her again? Will not that land be greatly polluted? But thou have played the harlot with many lovers. Yet return again to me, says Jehovah.

2 “நீ மேலே நோக்கி வறண்ட மேடுகளைப் பார். நீ வேசித்தனம் செய்யாத இடமேதும் உண்டோ? பாலைவனத்தின் நாடோடியைப்போல், காதலருக்காக தெருவோரங்களில் காத்துக்கொண்டிருந்தாய். உன்னுடைய வேசித்தனத்தினாலும், கொடுமையினாலும் நாட்டைக் கறைப்படுத்தினாய்.

Lift up thine eyes to the bare heights, and see. Where have thou not been lain with? By the ways thou have sat for them, as an Arabian in the wilderness, and thou have polluted the land with thy whoredoms and with thy wickedness.

3 இதனால் மழை வீழ்ச்சி தடைசெய்யப்பட்டு, கோடை மழையும் பெய்யவில்லை. அப்படியிருந்தும் நீ ஒரு வேசியின் நாணமற்ற தோற்றத்தை உடையவளாய் இருக்கிறாய்; நீ வெட்கங்கொண்டு நாணமடைய மறுக்கிறாய்.

Therefore the showers have been withheld, and there has been no latter rain. Yet thou have a harlot's forehead; thou refused to be ashamed.

4 இப்பொழுதும் நீ என்னைக் கூப்பிட்டு, ‘என் பிதாவே, என் வாலிப காலத்திலிருந்து என் நண்பராயிருப்பவரே,

Will thou not from this time cry to me, My Father, thou are the guide of my youth?

5 நீர் எப்போதும் கோபமாயிருப்பீரோ? உமது பெருங்கோபம் என்றைக்கும் நீடித்திருக்குமோ?’ என்று கேட்கவில்லையா? நீ பேசுவது இப்படித்தான், ஆனால் நீ உன்னால் முடிந்த தீமையையெல்லாம் செய்கிறாய்.”

Will he retain his anger forever? Will he keep it to the end? Behold, thou have spoken, and have done evil things, and have had thy way.

6 யோசியா அரசனின் ஆட்சிக்காலத்தில் யெகோவா என்னிடம், “பின்மாற்றமடைந்த இஸ்ரயேல் செய்ததைக் கண்டாயா? அவள் ஒவ்வொரு உயர்ந்த குன்றின்மேலும், ஒவ்வொரு பச்சையான மரத்தின் கீழும் விபசாரம் பண்ணினாள்.

Moreover Jehovah said to me in the days of Josiah the king, Have thou seen that which backsliding Israel has done? She has gone up upon every high mountain and under every green tree, and there has played the harlot.

7 இவை எல்லாவற்றையும் செய்தபின்பாவது என்னிடம் திரும்பி வருவாள் என்று நினைத்தேன். ஆனால் அவளோ திரும்பி வரவில்லை. இதை அவளுடைய சகோதரியான யூதா என்ற துரோகியும் கண்டாள்.

And I said after she had done all these things, She will return to me, but she returned not. And her treacherous sister Judah saw it.

8 பின்மாற்றமடைந்த இஸ்ரயேலுக்கு அவளுடைய எல்லா விபசாரங்களின் நிமித்தமும், அவளுக்கு விவாகரத்துச் சீட்டைக் கொடுத்து, அவளை அனுப்பிவிட்டேன். இருந்தும் அவளுடைய சகோதரியான யூதா என்ற துரோகி பயப்படாததை நான் கண்டேன். அவளும் வெளியே போய் விபசாரம் பண்ணினாள்.

And I saw, when, for this very cause that backsliding Israel had committed adultery, I had put her away and given her a bill of divorcement, yet treacherous Judah her sister feared not, but she also went and played the harlot.

9 இஸ்ரயேலின் ஒழுக்கக்கேடு யூதாவுக்கு மிகவும் அற்பமாய் இருந்தபடியால், அவளும் தன் நாட்டைக் கறைப்படுத்தி, கற்களோடும் மரத்தோடும் விபசாரம் பண்ணினாள்.

And it came to pass through the frivolity of her whoredom, that the land was polluted, and she committed adultery with stones and with stocks.

10 இப்படியெல்லாம் இருக்கையில் இஸ்ரயேலுடைய சகோதரியான யூதா என்ற துரோகி, வஞ்சகமாய் என்னிடம் திரும்பி வந்தாளேயல்லாமல், முழுமனதுடன் திரும்பி வரவில்லை” என்று யெகோவா அறிவிக்கிறார்.

And yet for all this her treacherous sister Judah has not returned to me with her whole heart, but in pretense, says Jehovah.

11 யெகோவா என்னிடம் சொன்னதாவது: “துரோகியாகிய யூதாவைப் பார்க்கிலும் உண்மையற்ற இஸ்ரயேல் நீதியுள்ளவளாய் இருக்கிறாள்.

And Jehovah said to me, Backsliding Israel has shown herself more righteous than treacherous Judah.

12 ஆகவே நீ போய் வடக்கு நோக்கி இந்தச் செய்தியைப் பிரசித்தப்படுத்து: “பின்மாற்றமடைந்த இஸ்ரயேலே, திரும்பி வா” என்று யெகோவா அறிவிக்கிறார். “இனி ஒருபோதும் உங்கள்மேல் கோபத்தைக் காண்பிப்பதில்லை, ஏனெனில் நான் இரக்கமுள்ளவர்” என்று யெகோவா அறிவிக்கிறார். “நான் என்றைக்கும் கோபமாயிருக்கமாட்டேன்.

Go, and proclaim these words toward the north, and say, Return, thou backsliding Israel, says Jehovah, I will not look in anger upon you, for I am merciful, says Jehovah. I will not keep anger forever.

13 உன் குற்றத்தை மாத்திரம் ஏற்றுக்கொள். நீ உன் இறைவனாகிய யெகோவாவுக்கு விரோதமாகக் கலகம் பண்ணினாய். ஒவ்வொரு பச்சையான மரத்தின் கீழும், அந்நிய தெய்வங்களுடன் சேர்ந்து கேடாக நடந்து எனக்குக் கீழ்ப்படியாமல் போனாய்” என்று யெகோவா அறிவிக்கிறார்.

Only acknowledge thine iniquity, that thou have transgressed against Jehovah thy God, and have scattered thy ways to the strangers under every green tree, and ye have not obeyed my voice, says Jehovah.

14 “பின்மாற்றமடைந்த மக்களே! திரும்பிவாருங்கள்” என்று யெகோவா அறிவிக்கிறார். “ஏனெனில் நானே உங்கள் கணவன். நான் உங்களை ஒரு பட்டணத்திலிருந்து ஒருவனாகவும், ஒரு வம்சத்திலிருந்து இருவராகவும் தெரிந்தெடுத்து, உங்களைச் சீயோனுக்குக் கொண்டுவருவேன்.

Return, O backsliding sons, says Jehovah, for I am a husband to you. And I will take you, one of a city, and two of a family, and I will bring you to Zion.

15 என் இருதயத்திற்கு ஏற்ற மேய்ப்பர்களை உங்களுக்குத் தருவேன். அவர்கள் அறிவோடும், விவேகத்தோடும் உங்களை வழிநடத்துவார்கள்.

And I will give you shepherds according to my heart, who shall feed you with knowledge and understanding.

16 அந்நாட்களில் நாட்டில் உங்கள் எண்ணிக்கை மிகுதியாய் பெருகியிருக்கும்” என்று யெகோவா அறிவிக்கிறார். அப்பொழுது மனிதர்கள், யெகோவாவினுடைய உடன்படிக்கைப் பெட்டியைப்பற்றி ஒருபோதும் பேசமாட்டார்கள். அதைப்பற்றி ஒருபோதும் அவர்கள் எண்ணுவதோ நினைப்பதோ இல்லை; அதைக் குறித்த மனவருத்தமும் அவர்களுக்கு ஏற்படாது. அதுபோல வேறொன்று செய்யப்படுவதும் இல்லை.

And it shall come to pass, when ye are multiplied and increased in the land, in those days, says Jehovah, they shall no more say, The ark of the covenant of Jehovah, nor shall it come to mind. Neither shall they remember it, nor shall they miss it. Neither shall it be made any more.

17 அக்காலத்தில் எல்லா மக்களும் எருசலேமை யெகோவாவினுடைய சிங்காசனம் என்று கூறுவார்கள். யெகோவாவின் பெயரை மகிமைப்படுத்துவதற்காக எருசலேமில் ஒன்று கூடுவார்கள். தொடர்ந்து அவர்கள் தங்களுடைய தீமையான இருதயங்களின் பிடிவாதத்துடன் நடக்கமாட்டார்கள்.

At that time they shall call Jerusalem the throne of Jehovah, and all the nations shall be gathered to it, to the name of Jehovah, to Jerusalem. Neither shall they walk any more after the stubbornness of their evil heart.

18 அந்நாட்களில் யூதா வம்சத்தார், இஸ்ரயேல் வம்சத்தாருடன் ஒன்றுசேருவார்கள். அவர்கள் வடதிசையிலுள்ள நாட்டிலிருந்து நான் உங்கள் முற்பிதாக்களுக்கு உரிமைச்சொத்தாகக் கொடுத்த நாட்டுக்கு வருவார்கள்.

In those days the house of Judah shall walk with the house of Israel, and they shall come together out of the land of the north to the land that I gave for an inheritance to your fathers.

19 “நான், “‘உங்களை எவ்வளவு சந்தோஷமாக என் சொந்தப் பிள்ளைகளைப்போல் நடத்துவேன்; எந்த நாட்டினுடைய உரிமைச்சொத்தைப் பார்க்கிலும், மிக நலமான விரும்பத்தக்க ஒரு நாட்டை உங்களுக்குக் கொடுப்பேன்’ என்று நான், நானே சொன்னேன். நீங்கள் என்னை, ‘பிதாவே’ என்று அழைப்பீர்கள் என்றும், என்னைப் பின்பற்றுவதை விட்டுத் திரும்பமாட்டீர்கள் என்றும் நான் நினைத்திருந்தேன்.

But I said, How I will put thee among the sons, and give thee a pleasant land, a goodly heritage of the hosts of the nations! And I said, Ye shall call me My Father, and shall not turn away from following me.

20 ஆனாலும் இஸ்ரயேல் வீட்டாரே, தன் கணவனுக்கு உண்மையற்று இருக்கும் ஒரு பெண்ணைப்போல, நீங்கள் எனக்கு உண்மையற்று இருந்தீர்கள்” என்று யெகோவா சொல்கிறார்.

Surely as a wife treacherously departs from her husband, so ye have dealt treacherously with me, O house of Israel, says Jehovah.

21 வறண்ட மேடுகளில் அழுகை கேட்கிறது; இஸ்ரயேல் மக்களின் அழுகையும் வேண்டுதலுமே அது. ஏனெனில் அவர்கள் தங்கள் வழிகளைச் சீர்கேடாக்கி தங்கள் இறைவனாகிய யெகோவாவை மறந்துவிட்டார்கள்.

A voice is heard upon the bare heights, the weeping and the supplications of the sons of Israel, because they have perverted their way; they have forgotten Jehovah their God.

22 “உண்மையற்ற மக்களே திரும்பிவாருங்கள்; நான் உங்கள் பின்மாற்றத்தைக் குணமாக்குவேன்” என்று யெகோவா சொல்கிறார். அதற்கு மக்கள், “ஆம், நீரே எங்கள் இறைவனாகிய கர்த்தராயிருப்பதால் நாங்கள் உம்மிடம் வருவோம்.

Return, ye backsliding sons, I will heal your backslidings. Behold, we have come to thee, for thou are Jehovah our God.

23 குன்றுகளிலும் மலைகளிலும் செய்துவந்த விக்கிரக வழிபாட்டின் ஆரவாரம், உண்மையில் ஒரு ஏமாற்றுச் செயலே; இஸ்ரயேலின் இரட்சிப்பு நிச்சயமாக எங்கள் இறைவனாகிய யெகோவாவிலேயே இருக்கிறது.

Truly it is in vain from the heights, the multitude on the mountains. Truly in Jehovah our God is the salvation of Israel.

24 எங்கள் வாலிப காலத்திலிருந்து, எங்கள் முற்பிதாக்களின் உழைப்பின் பலனான ஆட்டு மந்தைகளையும், மாட்டு மந்தைகளையும், அவர்களின் மகன்களையும், மகள்களையும் வெட்கக்கேடான தெய்வங்கள் விழுங்கிவிட்டன.

But the shameful thing has devoured the labor of our fathers from our youth, their flocks and their herds, their sons and their daughters.

25 நாங்கள் எங்கள் வெட்கத்திலேயே கிடப்போம், எங்கள் அவமானம் எங்களை மூடிக்கொள்ளட்டும். நாங்களும் எங்கள் முற்பிதாக்களும் எங்கள் இறைவனாகிய யெகோவாவுக்கு எதிராகப் பாவம் செய்திருக்கிறோம், நாங்கள் எங்கள் இளமைப் பருவத்திலிருந்து இன்றுவரை எங்கள் இறைவனாகிய யெகோவாவுக்குக் கீழ்ப்படிந்திருக்கவில்லை” என்றார்கள்.

Let us lie down in our shame, and let our confusion cover us, for we have sinned against Jehovah our God, we and our fathers, from our youth even to this day, and we have not obeyed the voice of Jehovah our God.
