எரேமியா 22

1 யெகோவா கூறுவது இதுவே: “நீ யூதா அரசர்களின் அரண்மனைக்குப் போய் அங்கே இந்தச் செய்தியைப் பிரசித்தப்படுத்து.

Thus said Jehovah: Go down to the house of the king of Judah, and there speak these words.

2 தாவீதின் அரியணையில் அமர்ந்திருக்கிற யூதாவின் அரசனே, ‘நீயும், உன் அதிகாரிகளும், இந்த வாசல்களுக்குள் வருகிற உன் மக்களும் யெகோவாவின் வார்த்தையைக் கேளுங்கள்.

Hear the word of Jehovah, thou king of Judah, That sittest upon the throne of David, Thou, and thy servants, and thy people, Who go in and out through these gates!

3 யெகோவா கூறுவது இதுவே: நீதியையும், நியாயத்தையும் செய்யுங்கள். கொள்ளையிடப்பட்டவனை, ஒடுக்குகிறவனுடைய கையிலிருந்து விடுவியுங்கள். நீங்கள் பிறநாட்டினனையும் திக்கற்றவனையும் விதவையையும் ஒடுக்காமலும், கொடுமை செய்யாமலும் இருங்கள். குற்றமற்ற இரத்தத்தை இந்த இடத்தில் சிந்தாமலும் இருங்கள்.

Thus saith Jehovah: Do justice and righteousness; Deliver the spoiled out of the hand of the oppressor; To the stranger, the fatherless, and the widow Do no wrong, do no violence, And shed no innocent blood in this place!

4 இக்கட்டளைகளைச் செய்வதற்கு நீங்கள் கவனமாயிருந்தால், அப்பொழுது தாவீதின் அரியணையில் அமர்ந்திருக்கும் அரசர்கள் இந்த அரண்மனையின் வாசல் வழியாக வருவார்கள். அவர்கள் தங்கள் அதிகாரிகளுடனும், மக்களுடனும் சேர்ந்து தேர்களிலும், குதிரைகளிலும் ஏறி வருவார்கள்.

For if ye shall do this, Then shall there enter in through the gates of this house Kings, who shall sit upon the throne of David, Riding in chariots and upon horses, Each one with his servants and his people.

5 ஆனால் இக்கட்டளைகளுக்கு நீங்கள் கீழ்ப்படியாமல் விட்டால், இந்த அரண்மனை பாழாகிவிடும் என்று நான் என்மேல் ஆணையிடுகிறேன்’ என்று யெகோவா அறிவிக்கிறார் என்று சொல்” என்றார்.

But if ye will not hearken to these words, By myself do I swear, saith Jehovah, That this house shall become a desolation.

6 மேலும், யூதா அரசனின் அரண்மனையைக் குறித்து யெகோவா கூறுவது இதுவே: “நீ எனக்கு கீலேயாத்தைப்போலவும், லெபனோனின் மலை உச்சியைப்போலவும் இருந்தாலும், நான் நிச்சயமாக உன்னைப் பாலைவனத்தைப்போலவும், குடியிருக்காத பட்டணங்களைப்போலவும் ஆக்குவேன்.

For thus saith Jehovah to the house of the king of Judah: Gilead art thou to me, yea, the summit of Lebanon; Yet will I make thee a desert, As cities not inhabited.

7 நான் உனக்கு எதிராக அழிக்கிறவர்களை அவனவனது ஆயுதங்களுடன் அனுப்புவேன். அவர்கள் உனது மிகச்சிறந்த கேதுருமர உத்திரங்களை வெட்டி அவைகளை நெருப்பிலே போடுவார்கள்.

I will appoint against thee destroyers, Every one with his weapons; And they shall cut down thy choice cedars, And cast them into the fire.

8 “அநேக நாடுகளைச் சேர்ந்த மக்கள் இப்பட்டணத்தைக் கடந்து செல்லும்போது, ‘இப்பெரிய பட்டணத்துக்கு யெகோவா ஏன் இவ்வாறு செய்தார்?’ என்று ஒருவரையொருவர் கேட்பார்கள்.

And many nations shall pass by this city, And they shall say one to another, “Wherefore hath Jehovah done thus to this great city?”

9 அதற்கு, ‘அவர்கள் தங்கள் இறைவனாகிய யெகோவாவின் உடன்படிக்கையைக் கைவிட்டு, அந்நிய தெய்வங்களை வணங்கி, அவைகளுக்குப் பணிவிடை செய்தபடியால் இப்படியாயிற்று’ என்று பதில் சொல்லப்படும்.”

Then shall they answer: “Because they forsook the covenant of Jehovah their God, And worshipped strange gods, And served them.”

10 இறந்துபோன அரசனுக்காக அழவேண்டாம். அவன் மறைவுக்காக துக்கிக்கவும் வேண்டாம். நாடுகடத்தப்பட்ட அரசனுக்காகவே மனங்கசந்து அழுங்கள். ஏனெனில் இனிமேல் அவன் திரும்பி வரமாட்டான். தன் சொந்த நாட்டைக் காணவும் மாட்டான்.

Weep not for him that is dead, Make no lamentation for him! Weep, weep ye for him who is gone away; For he shall return no more, Nor see his native land!

11 யோசியாவின் மகனான சல்லூமைப் பற்றி யெகோவா கூறுவது இதுவே: அவன் தன் தகப்பனுக்குப் பின் யூதாவுக்கு அரசனாக வந்தான். ஆனால் இந்த இடத்திலிருந்து போய்விட்டான். “அவன் ஒருபோதும் திரும்பி வரமாட்டான்.

For thus saith Jehovah Concerning Shallum, the son of Josiah, king of Judah, Who reigned instead of Josiah his father, Who went forth from this place: He shall return to it no more;

12 அவன் கைதியாகக் கொண்டுபோகப்பட்ட இடத்திலேயே சாவான். இந்த நாட்டையோ மீண்டும் காணமாட்டான்” என்றார்.

But in the place whither they have led him captive shall he die, And shall see this land no more.

13 “அநியாயத்தினால் தன் அரண்மனையையும், அநீதியினால் தன் மேலறையையும் கட்டுகிறவனுக்கு ஐயோ கேடு! அவன் தன் நாட்டு மனிதரின் உழைப்புக்குக் கூலிகொடாமல் வேலை வாங்குகிறான்.

Woe to him that buildeth his house with injustice, And his upper apartments with wrong; That exacteth a man's service without wages, And giveth him no recompense!

14 அவன், ‘நான் விசாலமான மேலறைகளுடன் எனக்குப் பெரிய அரண்மனையைக் கட்டுவேன்’ என்கிறான். அவ்வாறே அவன் அதற்குப் பெரிய ஜன்னல்களை அமைத்து, கேதுரு மரப்பலகைகளால் தளவரிசைப்படுத்தி, அவைகளை சிவப்பு நிறத்தால் அலங்கரிக்கிறான்.

That saith, “I will build me a large house, And spacious apartments,” And that cutteth out windows, And ceileth it with cedar, And painteth it with vermilion!

15 “அதிகமதிகமாய் கேதுரு மரங்களை வைத்திருப்பதால், அது உன்னை அரசனாக்குமோ? உன்னுடைய தகப்பனிடம் உணவும், பானமும் இருக்கவில்லையோ? நியாயத்தையும், நீதியையும் அவன் செய்தபோது அவன் செய்த எல்லாம் அவனுக்கு நலமாயிருக்கவில்லையோ?

Shalt thou reign because thou rivallest others in cedar? Did not thy father eat and drink? Yet he had regard to justice and equity; Therefore it was well, with him.

16 அவன் ஏழை வறியோரின் வழக்கை விசாரித்தான். அதனால் அவனுக்கு எல்லாம் நன்றாய் நடைபெற்றன. என்னை அறிந்துகொள்வது என்பதன் அர்த்தம் இதுவல்லவோ?” என்று யெகோவா அறிவிக்கிறார்.

He maintained the cause of the poor and needy; Then was it well with him; Was not this to know me, saith Jehovah?

17 “ஆனால் உன்னுடைய கண்களும், இருதயமும் நேர்மையற்ற இலாபத்திலும், குற்றமற்ற இரத்தத்தைச் சிந்துவதிலும், கப்பம் கேட்பதிலும் ஒடுக்குவதிலுமே நோக்கமாயிருக்கின்றன” என்று யெகோவா கூறுகிறார்.

But thine eyes and thy heart are only upon thine own gain, And the shedding of innocent blood, And deeds of violence and oppression.

18 ஆதலால் யூதாவின் அரசன் யோசியாவின் மகன் யோயாக்கீமை பற்றி யெகோவா கூறுவது இதுவே: “அவனுக்காக அவர்கள்: ‘ஐயோ என் சகோதரனே! ஐயோ என் சகோதரியே!’ என்று துக்கங்கொண்டாட மாட்டார்கள். ‘ஐயோ என் தலைவனே! ஐயோ அவனுடைய மேன்மையே!’ என்றும் அவனுக்காக துக்கங்கொண்டாட மாட்டார்கள்.

Therefore thus saith Jehovah, Concerning Jehoiakim, the son of Josiah, king of Judah: They shall not lament for him, saying, “Alas, my brother!” or, “Alas, sister!” They shall not lament for him, saying, “Alas, lord!” or, “Alas, his glory!”

19 ஒரு செத்த கழுதைக்குச் செய்வதுபோலவே அவனை அடக்கம் செய்வார்கள். அவனை இழுத்துக்கொண்டுபோய் எருசலேமின் வாசல்களுக்கு வெளியே எறிந்துவிடுவார்கள்” என்கிறார்.

With the burial of an ass shall he be buried, Dragged along and cast forth beyond the gates of Jerusalem.

20 லெபனோன்வரை சென்று சத்தமிட்டு அழு. பாசானில் உனது குரல் கேட்கட்டும். அபாரீமிலிருந்தும் அழு. ஏனென்றால் உன்னுடைய கூட்டாளிகள் நசுக்கப்பட்டார்கள்.

Go thou up to Lebanon and cry, [[O Jerusalem!]] And upon Bashan lift up thy voice; Cry aloud from Abarim! For all thy lovers are fallen.

21 பாதுகாப்புடன் இருக்கிறாய் என எண்ணிய உன்னை நான் எச்சரித்தேன். ஆனால், “நான் கேட்கமாட்டேன்” என்று நீ சொன்னாய். உன் வாலிப காலத்திலிருந்தே, இதுவே உனது வழக்கமாயிருந்தது. நீ எனக்குக் கீழ்ப்படியவில்லை.

I spake to thee in thy prosperity, But thou saidst, “I will not hear.” This hath been thy manner from thy youth; Thou hast not obeyed my voice.

22 காற்று உன்னுடைய மேய்ப்பர்கள் எல்லோரையும் அடித்துக்கொண்டு போய்விடும். உன் கூட்டாளிகள் யாவரும் நாடுகடத்தப்படுவார்கள். அப்பொழுது உனது எல்லாக் கொடுமையின் நிமித்தமும் நீ வெட்கமடைந்து அவமானப்படுவாய்.

The wind shall consume all thy shepherds, And thy lovers shall go into captivity; Then shalt thou be ashamed And confounded for all thy wickedness.

23 லெபனோனில் வாழ்பவளே! கேதுரு மரங்களாலான கட்டிடங்களில் பாதுகாப்பாய் இருப்பவளே! பிரசவ வேதனைப்படும் பெண்ணின் வலியைப் போன்ற வலி உன்மேல் வரும்போது, நீ எவ்வளவாய் வேதனையில் அழுவாய்.

O thou that dwellest in Lebanon, That makest thy nest in cedars, How wretched shalt thou be, when anguish cometh upon thee, Pain, as of a woman in travail!

24 யெகோவா அறிவிப்பது இதுவே: “நான் வாழ்வது நிச்சயம்போல, யூதாவின் அரசன் யோயாக்கீமின் மகன் கோனியாவே! நீ என்னுடைய வலதுகையில் ஒரு முத்திரை மோதிரமாய் இருந்தாலுங்கூட, நான் உன்னை கழற்றி எறிந்துவிடுவேன் என்பதும் நிச்சயம்.

As I live, saith Jehovah, Thou Coniah, son of Jehoiakim, king of Judah, Though thou wert the signet upon my right hand, Even thence would I pluck thee!

25 நீ பயப்படுகிறவர்களான, உன்னை கொலைசெய்ய தேடுகிறவர்களின் கையில் உன்னை ஒப்புக்கொடுப்பேன். பாபிலோன் அரசன் நேபுகாத்நேச்சாரிடத்திலும் பாபிலோனியர்களிடத்திலும்

And I will give thee into the hand of them that seek thy life, And into the hand of them that thou fearest, Even into the hand of Nebuchadnezzar, king of Babylon, And into the hand of the Chaldaeans.

26 நான் உன்னை ஒப்புக்கொடுப்பேன். நான் உன்னையும், உன்னைப் பெற்ற தாயையும், நீங்கள் பிறவாத வேறொரு நாட்டில் எறிந்துவிடுவேன். அங்கே நீங்கள் இருவரும் சாவீர்கள்.

And I will cast thee forth, And thy mother that bore thee, Into a foreign land, Where ye were not born; And there shall ye die.

27 நீ திரும்பிவர விரும்புகிற இந்த நாட்டிற்கு ஒருபோதும் நீ திரும்பிவரமாட்டாய் என்பதும் நிச்சயம்” என்கிறார்.

To the land to which they desire to return, Thither shall they not return.

28 கோனியா என்ற இந்த மனிதன் யாராலும் விரும்பப்படாத பொருளான உடைந்த பானையைப்போல் இகழப்பட்டானோ? அவனும், அவனுடைய பிள்ளைகளும் அவர்கள் அறியாத ஒரு நாட்டில் ஏன் வீசி எறியப்பட வேண்டும்.

“Is then this man Coniah a contemptible broken vessel? Is he a vessel which no man careth for? Wherefore are he and his offspring cast forth, And thrown into a land which they know not?”

29 ஓ நாடே! நாடே! நாடே! யெகோவாவின் வார்த்தையைக் கேள்;

O land, land, land, hear the word of Jehovah!

30 யெகோவா கூறுவது இதுவே: “தன் வாழ்நாளில் செழித்தோங்காத பிள்ளைகளற்ற ஒரு மனிதனைப்போல் இவனைக் குறித்து எழுதிவை. அவனுடைய வழித்தோன்றல்களில் ஒருவனும் செழித்தோங்கமாட்டான். தாவீதின் அரியணையில் உட்காரவுமாட்டான். இனிமேல் யூதாவில் அரசாளவுமாட்டான் என்கிறார்” என்றான்.

Thus saith Jehovah: Write ye this man childless, A man that shall not be prosperous through his life; For none of his offspring shall prosper, So as to sit on the throne of David, And reign hereafter in Judah.
