எரேமியா 1
1 இல்க்கியாவின் மகன் எரேமியாவின் வார்த்தைகள்: இல்க்கியா பென்யமீன் பிரதேசத்தில் உள்ள ஆனதோத் என்ற ஊரில் வசித்த ஆசாரியர்களில் ஒருவன்.
The words of Jeremiah son of Hilkiah, —of the priests who were in Anathoth, in the land of Benjamin:
2 யூதாவின் அரசனாயிருந்த ஆமோனின் மகன் யோசியாவின் ஆட்சிக் காலத்தின் பதின்மூன்றாம் வருடத்தில், யெகோவாவின் வார்த்தை எரேமியாவுக்கு வந்தது.
unto whom came the word of Yahweh, in the days of Josiah son of Amon king of Judah, —in the thirteenth year of his reign;
3 தொடர்ந்து யூதாவின் அரசனாயிருந்த, யோசியாவின் மகன் யோயாக்கீமின் ஆட்சிக்காலம் முழுவதிலும், யூதாவின் அரசனாயிருந்த யோசியாவின் மகன் சிதேக்கியா அரசாண்ட பதினோராம் வருடம் ஐந்தாம் மாதம் முடியும் வரையும், யெகோவாவின் வார்த்தை எரேமியாவுக்கு வந்தது. அப்பொழுதுதான் எருசலேம் மக்கள் நாடுகடத்தப்பட்டார்கள்.
it came also in the days of Jehoiakim son of Josiah, king of Judah, unto the end of the eleventh year of Zedekiah son of Josiah king of Judah, —as far as the carrying away of Jerusalem captive, in the fifth month.
4 யெகோவாவின் வார்த்தை எனக்கு வந்தது, அவர் என்னிடம்,
So then, the word of Yahweh came unto me, saying:
5 “உன் தாயின் கர்ப்பத்தில் உன்னை உருவாக்கும் முன்பே நான் உன்னை அறிந்தேன், நீ பிறக்கும் முன்பே எனக்கு ஊழியம் செய்யும்படி நான் உன்னை பிரித்தெடுத்தேன்; நாடுகளுக்கு இறைவாக்கினனாக உன்னை நியமித்தேன்” என்றார்.
Before I formed thee at thy birth, I took knowledge of thee, And before thy nativity, I hallowed thee, —A prophet to the nations, I appointed thee.
6 அதற்கு நான், “ஆண்டவராகிய யெகோவாவே, எப்படிப் பேசவேண்டுமென்று எனக்குத் தெரியாது; நான் சிறுபிள்ளை தானே” என்றேன்.
Then said I—Ah! My Lord Yahweh! Lo! I know not how to speak, —For a child, am I!
7 ஆனால் யெகோவா என்னிடம் சொன்னதாவது, “நான் ஒரு சிறுபிள்ளை தானே” என்று நீ சொல்லாதே; நான் உன்னை அனுப்பும் ஒவ்வொருவரிடமும் நீ போய் நான் கட்டளையிடுவதையெல்லாம் சொல்லவேண்டும்.
Then said Yahweh unto me, Do not say, A child, am, I,—For against whomsoever I send thee, shalt thou go, And whatsoever I command thee, shalt thou speak:
8 நீ அவர்களுக்குப் பயப்படாதே. ஏனெனில் நான் உன்னோடிருக்கிறேன், நான் உன்னைக் காப்பாற்றுவேன் என்று யெகோவா அறிவிக்கிறார்.
Be not afraid of their faces, For with thee, am I, to deliver thee Declareth Yahweh.
9 அப்பொழுது யெகோவா தமது கரத்தை நீட்டி என் வாயைத் தொட்டு என்னிடம், “இப்பொழுது என் வார்த்தைகளை உன் வாயில் வைத்திருக்கிறேன்.
Then Yahweh put forth his hand, and touched my mouth, —and Yahweh said unto me, Lo! I have put my words in thy mouth.
10 இதோ பார், நாடுகளுக்கும் அரசுகளுக்கும் மேலாக அவைகளை வேரோடு பிடுங்கவும், இடித்து வீழ்த்தவும், அழிக்கவும், கவிழ்க்கவும், கட்டவும், நாட்டவும் நான் இன்று உன்னை நியமித்திருக்கிறேன்” என்றார்.
See! I have set thee in charge this day, over the nations and over the kingdoms, To uproot and to break down, and to destroy and to tear in pieces, —To build and to plant.
11 யெகோவாவின் வார்த்தை எனக்கு வந்தது: அவர் என்னை நோக்கி, “எரேமியாவே! நீ காண்பது என்ன?” என்று கேட்டார். நான் அதற்குப் பதிலாக “ஒரு வாதுமை மரக்கிளையைக் காண்கிறேன்” என்றேன்.
Moreover the Word of Yahweh came unto me saying, What canst thou see Jeremiah? And I said, A twig of an almond-tree, can I see.
12 அப்பொழுது யெகோவா என்னிடம், “நீ சரியாகக் கண்டிருக்கிறாய், ஏனெனில் நான் என் வார்த்தையை நிறைவேற்றுவதற்காக விழிப்பாயிருக்கிறேன்” என்றார்.
Then said Yahweh unto me—Thou hast rightly seen, —for keeping watch, am I over my word to perform it.
13 யெகோவாவின் வார்த்தை திரும்பவும் எனக்கு வந்தது. அவர், “நீ காண்கிறது என்ன?” என்றார். “ஒரு கொதிக்கும் பானை வடதிசையிலிருந்து சரிவதைக் காண்கிறேன்” என்று நான் பதிலளித்தேன்.
And the word of Yahweh came unto me a second time saying, What canst thou see? And I said, A boiling caldron, can I see, with, the front thereof, on the North.
14 அப்பொழுது யெகோவா என்னிடம், “நாட்டில் வாழும் யாவர்மேலும் வடக்கிலிருந்து பெரும் பயங்கரம் கொதித்தெழும்பும்.
Then said Yahweh unto me, —Out of the North, shall break forth calamity, against all the inhabitants of the land.
15 அதற்காக நான் வடதிசை அரசுகளின் படைகளையெல்லாம் அழைக்கப் போகிறேன்” என்று யெகோவா அறிவிக்கிறார். “அவர்களின் அரசர்கள் வந்து எருசலேமின் நுழைவு வாசல்களில் தங்கள் சிங்காசனத்தை வைப்பார்கள்; அவர்கள் எருசலேமைச் சுற்றியுள்ள மதில்களுக்கு எதிராகவும், யூதாவின் பட்டணங்களுக்கு எதிராகவும் வருவார்கள்.
For behold me! calling for all the families of the kingdoms of the North, Declareth Yahweh, —and they shall come, and set every one his throne at the opening of the gates of Jerusalem and against all her walls round about, and against all the cities of Judah!
16 எனது மக்கள் வேறு தெய்வங்களுக்குத் தூபங்காட்டி, தங்கள் கைகளினால் செய்தவற்றையே வழிபட்டு, என்னைக் கைவிட்டார்கள். இந்த கொடிய செயல்களின் நிமித்தம் அவர்களுக்கு என் நியாயத்தீர்ப்பை வழங்குவேன்.
Then will I pronounce my judgments against them, concerning all their wickedness, —in that they have forsaken me and have burned incense unto other gods, and have bowed down to the works of their own hands,
17 “ஆதலால் உன்னை ஆயத்தப்படுத்து. எழுந்து நின்று நான் உனக்குக் கட்டளையிடுவதையெல்லாம் அவர்களுக்குச் சொல். அவர்களுக்குப் பயப்படாதே, பயந்தால் அவர்கள் முன்னால் நான் உன்னைத் திகிலடையச் செய்வேன்.
Thou, therefore, shalt gird thy loins, and arise, and speak unto them, all that, I, command thee, —be not dismayed because of them, lest I dismay thee before their face.
18 இன்று நான் உன்னை முழு நாட்டிற்கும் விரோதமாக நிற்கும்படி பாதுகாப்பான பட்டணமாகவும், இரும்புத் தூணாகவும், வெண்கல மதிலாகவும் ஆக்கியிருக்கிறேன். யூதாவின் அரசர்களுக்கும், அதன் அதிகாரிகளுக்கும், ஆசாரியருக்கும், நாட்டு மக்களுக்கும் விரோதமாக நிற்கும்படியாகவே இப்படிச் செய்தேன்.
I, therefore—lo! I have set thee to-day as a fortified city, and as a pillar of iron and as walls of bronze, over all the land, —against the kings of Judah, against her princes, against her priests and against the people of the land.
19 அவர்கள் உனக்கு எதிராகச் சண்டையிடுவார்கள். ஆயினும் அவர்கள் உன்னை மேற்கொள்ளமாட்டார்கள், ஏனெனில் நான் உன்னோடிருக்கிறேன். நான் உன்னை தப்புவிப்பேன் என்று யெகோவா அறிவிக்கிறார்” என்றார்.
And they will fight against thee but shall not prevail against thee, —for with thee, am I, Declareth Yahweh, to deliver thee.
