ஓசியா 8

1 “உங்கள் உதடுகளில் எக்காளத்தை வையுங்கள்; யெகோவாவின் ஆலயத்துக்கு மேலாக ஒரு எதிரி கழுகைப்போல் பறக்கிறான். ஏனெனில் அவர்கள் எனது உடன்படிக்கையை மீறி, எனது சட்டத்திற்கு எதிராக கிளர்ச்சி செய்தார்கள்.

[SET] the trumpet to thy mouth. As an eagle [he cometh] against the house of the LORD: because they have transgressed my covenant, and trespassed against my law.

2 ‘எங்கள் இறைவனே, நாங்கள் உம்மை அறிந்திருக்கிறோம்!’ என்று இஸ்ரயேலர் என்னை நோக்கிக் கதறுகிறார்கள்.

They shall cry unto me, My God, we Israel know thee.

3 ஆனால் இஸ்ரயேலர் நன்மையானதைப் புறக்கணித்துவிட்டார்கள்; அதனால் ஒரு பகைவன் அவர்களைப் பின்தொடர்வான்.

Israel hath cast off that which is good: the enemy shall pursue him.

4 என் மக்கள் எனது சம்மதம் இன்றி அரசர்களை ஏற்படுத்துகிறார்கள்; எனது அங்கீகாரம் இல்லாமல், அவர்கள் இளவரசர்களைத் தெரிந்துகொள்கிறார்கள். அவர்கள் தங்கள் வெள்ளியினாலும், தங்கத்தினாலும் தங்களுக்கென விக்கிரகங்களைச் செய்கிறார்கள்; இது அவர்களின் அழிவுக்கே ஏதுவாகும்.

They have set up kings, but not by me; they have made princes, and I knew it not: of their silver and their gold have they made them idols, that they may be cut off.

5 யெகோவா சொல்வதாவது: சமாரியாவே, உன் கன்றுக்குட்டி விக்கிரகத்தை எறிந்துவிடு; எனது கோபம் உனக்கெதிராக பற்றியெரிகிறது. எவ்வளவு காலத்திற்கு இவர்கள் தூய்மையடையாது இருப்பார்கள்?

He hath cast off thy calf, O Samaria; mine anger is kindled against them: how long will it be ere they attain to innocency?

6 அந்த விக்கிரகம் இஸ்ரயேலிலிருந்து வந்தது; அது இறைவனல்ல, அதை ஒரு கைவினைஞன் செய்தான், எனவே சமாரியாவின் கன்றுக்குட்டி துண்டுதுண்டாக உடைக்கப்படும்.

For from Israel is even this; the workman made it, and it is no God: yea, the calf of Samaria shall be broken in pieces.

7 “ஏனெனில் அவர்கள் காற்றை விதைத்து, சுழல்காற்றை அறுவடை செய்கிறார்கள். பயிரின் தண்டில் கதிர் இல்லை; அதிலிருந்து மாவும் கிடைக்காது. அது தானியத்தைக் கொடுக்குமானால் அவற்றை அந்நியர் விழுங்குவார்கள்.

For they sow the wind, and they shall reap the whirlwind: he hath no standing corn; the blade shall yield no meal; if so be it yield, strangers shall swallow it up.

8 இஸ்ரயேல் விழுங்கப்பட்டது; இப்பொழுது அவர்கள் நாடுகளுக்குள்ளே ஒருவருக்கும் பயனற்ற பானையைப்போல் இருக்கிறார்கள்.

Israel is swallowed up: now are they among the nations as a vessel wherein is no pleasure.

9 அவர்கள் தனிமையில் அலைந்து திரியும் காட்டுக் கழுதைபோல் அசீரியாவுக்குப் போய்விட்டார்கள். எப்பிராயீமர் தன்னை தன் காதலர்களுக்கு விற்றுப் போட்டார்கள்.

For they are gone up to Assyria, [like] a wild ass alone by himself: Ephraim hath hired lovers.

10 அப்படி அவர்கள் தங்களைப் பிற தேசத்தாருக்குள் விற்றிருந்தாலும், இப்பொழுது நான் அவர்களை ஒன்றுசேர்ப்பேன். வலிமைமிக்க அரசனின் கையின் ஒடுக்குதலின்கீழ், அவர்கள் வலிமை குன்றத் தொடங்குவார்கள்.

Yea, though they hire among the nations, now will I gather them; and they begin to be minished by reason of the burden of the king of princes.

11 “எப்பிராயீம் பாவநிவாரண காணிக்கைகளுக்காகப் பலிபீடங்களைக் கட்டினாலும், இவை பாவம் செய்வதற்கான பலிபீடங்களாயின.

Because Ephraim hath multiplied altars to sin, altars have been unto him to sin.

12 நான் அவர்களின் நலத்திற்காக எனது சட்டத்தைப்பற்றிய அநேக காரியங்களை அவர்களுக்கு எழுதிக் கொடுத்தேன்; ஆனால் அவர்கள் அவற்றை ஒரு அந்நியமான காரியமாக மதித்தார்கள்.

Though I write for him my law in ten thousand [precepts], they are counted as a strange thing.

13 அவர்கள் எனக்குப் பலிகளைச் செலுத்தி, அதன் இறைச்சியை அவர்கள் சாப்பிடுகிறார்கள்; ஆனாலும் யெகோவா அவர்களின் செயல்களில் பிரியப்படவில்லை. இப்பொழுது யெகோவா அவர்களின் கொடுமையை நினைவில்கொண்டு, அவர்களுடைய பாவத்திற்காக அவர்களைத் தண்டிப்பார். அவர்கள் எகிப்திற்கே திரும்பிப் போவார்கள்.

As for the sacrifices of mine offerings, they sacrifice flesh and eat it; but the LORD accepteth them not: now will he remember their iniquity, and visit their sins; they shall return to Egypt.

14 ஏனெனில் இஸ்ரயேல் தன்னை உண்டாக்கியவரை மறந்து, அரண்மனைகளைக் கட்டுகிறது; யூதா அநேக பட்டணங்களைச் சுற்றி அரண்களைக் கட்டியிருக்கிறது. ஆகவே நான் அவர்களுடைய பட்டணங்கள்மேல் நெருப்பை அனுப்புவேன்; அது அவர்களுடைய கோட்டைகளைச் சுட்டெரிக்கும்.”

For Israel hath forgotten his Maker, and builded palaces; and Judah hath multiplied fenced cities: but I will send a fire upon his cities, and it shall devour the castles thereof.
