ஓசியா 14

1 இஸ்ரயேலே, உன் இறைவனாகிய யெகோவாவிடம் திரும்பு; உன் பாவங்களே நீ விழுந்துபோவதற்குக் காரணமாய் அமைந்தன.

O Israel, come back to the Lord your God; for your evil-doing has been the cause of your fall.

2 நீங்கள் உங்கள் வேண்டுதல்களுடன் யெகோவாவிடம் திரும்புங்கள்; நீங்கள் அவரிடம், “எங்கள் பாவங்களையெல்லாம் மன்னியும், எங்களை கிருபையாய் ஏற்றுக்கொள்ளும்; அப்பொழுது நாங்கள் எங்கள் உதடுகளின் துதியை காளைகளின் பலியாய் செலுத்துவோம் என்று சொல்லுங்கள்.

Take with you words, and come back to the Lord; say to him, Let there be forgiveness for all wrongdoing, so that we may take what is good, and give in payment the fruit of our lips.

3 அசீரியா நாடு எங்களைக் காப்பாற்றமாட்டாது; நாங்கள் போர்க் குதிரைகளில் ஏறமாட்டோம். எங்கள் கைகளினால் நாங்கள் செய்த விக்கிரகங்களை ‘எங்கள் தெய்வம்’ என இனி ஒருபோதும் சொல்லமாட்டோம்; ஏனெனில் உம்மிடமே திக்கற்றவர்கள் கருணை பெறுகிறார்கள் என்று கூறுங்கள்.”

Assyria will not be our salvation; we will not go on horses; we will not again say to the work of our hands, You are our gods; for in you there is mercy for the child who has no father.

4 “நான் அவர்களுடைய பின்மாற்றத்தைக் குணமாக்குவேன், நான் அவர்களில் அதிகமாய் அன்பு செலுத்துவேன், எனது கோபம் அவர்களைவிட்டு நீங்கிற்று.

I will put right their errors; freely will my love be given to them, for my wrath is turned away from him.

5 நான் இஸ்ரயேலுக்குப் பனிபோல் இருப்பேன்; அவன் லில்லியைப்போல் பூப்பான். லெபனோனின் கேதுருபோல் வேரூன்றி நிற்பான்.

I will be as the dew to Israel; he will put out flowers like a lily, and send out his roots like Lebanon.

6 அவனுடைய இளந்தளிர்கள் வளரும். அவனுடைய புகழ் ஒலிவமரத்தைப் போலவும், அவனுடைய வாசனை லெபனோனின் கேதுரு போலவும் இருக்கும்.

His branches will be stretched out, he will be beautiful as the olive-tree and sweet-smelling as Lebanon.

7 திரும்பவும் மனிதர்கள் அவனுடைய நிழலில் குடியிருப்பார்கள்; அவன் தானியத்தைப்போல் செழிப்பான். திராட்சைக் கொடியைப்போல் பூப்பான்; அவனுடைய புகழ் லெபனோனின் திராட்சை இரசம்போல் இருக்கும்.

They will come back and have rest in his shade; their life will be made new like the grain, and they will put out flowers like the vine; his name will be like the wine of Lebanon.

8 எப்பிராயீமுக்கு விக்கிரகங்களுடன் இனியும் வேலை இல்லை; இனிமேல் நான் அவனுடைய வேண்டுதலுக்குப் பதில் கொடுத்து, அவனைப் பராமரிப்பேன். நான் அவர்களுக்குப் பசுமையான தேவதாரு மரம் போலிருக்கிறேன். அவர்களுடைய பலன்களின் நிறைவுகளெல்லாம் என்னிடமிருந்தே வருகின்றன.”

As for Ephraim, what has he to do with false gods any longer? I have given an answer and I will keep watch over him; I am like a branching fir-tree, from me comes your fruit.

9 ஞானமுள்ளவன் யார்? அவனே இவற்றை உணர்ந்துகொள்வான். பகுத்தறிவுள்ளவன் யார்? அவனே இவற்றை விளங்கிக்கொள்வான். யெகோவாவின் வழிகள் நீதியானவைகள்; நீதிமான்கள் அவற்றில் நடக்கிறார்கள், ஆனால் கலகக்காரர்கள் அவைகளில் இடறி விழுகிறார்கள்.

He who is wise will see these things; he who has good sense will have knowledge of them. For the ways of the Lord are straight, and the upright will go in them, but sinners will be falling in them.
