ஆதியாகமம் 9
1 பின்பு இறைவன் நோவாவையும் அவன் மகன்களையும் ஆசீர்வதித்து சொன்னதாவது, “நீங்கள் பலுகி, எண்ணிக்கையில் பெருகி பூமியை நிரப்புங்கள்.”
And God blessed Noah and his sons. And he said to them: “Increase, and multiply, and fill the earth.
2 உங்களைப்பற்றிய பயமும், பீதியும் பூமியிலுள்ள எல்லா விலங்குகளுக்கும், ஆகாயத்துப் பறவைகளுக்கும், தரையில் ஊரும்பிராணிகளுக்கும், கடல்வாழ் மீன்களுக்கும் இருக்கும்; அவை உங்கள் அதிகாரத்தின்கீழ் கொடுக்கப்பட்டிருக்கிறது.
And let the fear and trembling of you be upon all the animals of the earth, and upon all the birds of the air, along with all that moves across the earth. All the fish of the sea have been delivered into your hand.
3 நடமாடும் உயிரினங்கள் யாவும் உங்களுக்கு உணவாகும். தாவரங்களை உங்களுக்கு உணவாகக் கொடுத்ததுபோல, இப்பொழுது இவை எல்லாவற்றையும் உங்களுக்கு உணவாகக் கொடுக்கிறேன்.
And everything that moves and lives will be food for you. Just as with the edible plants, I have delivered them all to you,
4 “ஆனாலும், இறைச்சியை அதன் உயிருள்ளபோது அதாவது இரத்தம் அதில் இருக்கும்போது சாப்பிடவேண்டாம்.
except that flesh with blood you shall not eat.
5 உங்கள் உயிராகிய இரத்தத்திற்கு நான் நிச்சயமாக ஈடு கேட்பேன். ஒவ்வொரு மிருகத்திடமும் ஒவ்வொரு மனிதரிடமும் ஈடு கேட்பேன். மனிதரின் உயிருக்காக அவர்களோடிருக்கும் சக மனிதரிடம் உயிரை நான் ஈடாகக் கேட்பேன்.
For I will examine the blood of your lives at the hand of every beast. So also, at the hand of mankind, at the hand of each man and his brother, I will examine the life of mankind.
6 “யாராவது மனித இரத்தத்தைச் சிந்தினால், அவர்களுடைய இரத்தமும் மனிதராலேயே சிந்தப்பட வேண்டும்; ஏனெனில், இறைவன் மனிதரை இறைவனின் சாயலிலேயே படைத்திருக்கிறார்.
Whoever will shed human blood, his blood will be poured out. For man was indeed made to the image of God.
7 நீங்களோ, இனவிருத்தியில் பெருகி எண்ணிக்கையில் அதிகரியுங்கள்; பூமியில் பெருகி, விருத்தியடையுங்கள்.”
But as for you: increase and multiply, and go forth upon the earth and fulfill it.”
8 பின்பு இறைவன் நோவாவிடமும், அவனுடனிருந்த அவன் மகன்களிடமும்:
To Noah and to his sons with him, God also said this:
9 “நான் உங்களுடனும், உங்களுக்குப் பின்வரும் உங்கள் சந்ததியுடனும் இப்பொழுது என்னுடைய உடன்படிக்கையை ஏற்படுத்துகிறேன்.
“Behold, I will establish my covenant with you, and with your offspring after you,
10 உங்களுடன் பேழையிலிருந்து வெளியேறிய உயிரினங்களான பறவைகள், வளர்ப்பு மிருகங்கள், காட்டு மிருகங்கள் ஆகிய பூமியின் எல்லா உயிரினங்களுடனும் என் உடன்படிக்கையை ஏற்படுத்துகிறேன்.
and with every living soul that is with you: as much with the birds as with the cattle and all the animals of the earth that have gone forth from the ark, and with all the wild beasts of the earth.
11 ‘வெள்ளத்தினால் இனி ஒருபோதும் எல்லா உயிர்களும் அழிக்கப்படமாட்டாது; பூமியை அழிக்க இனி ஒருபோதும் வெள்ளப்பெருக்கு உண்டாகாது’ என்று உங்களோடு என் உடன்படிக்கையை ஏற்படுத்துகிறேன்” என்றார்.
I will establish my covenant with you, and no longer will all that is flesh be put to death by the waters of a great flood, and, henceforth, there will not be a great flood to utterly destroy the earth.”
12 மேலும் இறைவன், “நான் உங்களோடும், உங்களோடிருக்கும் எல்லா உயிரினங்களோடும், வரப்போகும் எல்லா சந்ததிகளோடும் ஏற்படுத்தும் உடன்படிக்கையின் அடையாளம் இதுவே:
And God said: “This is the sign of the pact that I grant between me and you, and to every living soul that is with you, for perpetual generations.
13 நான், என் வானவில்லை மேகங்களில் அமைத்திருக்கிறேன், பூமிக்கும் எனக்கும் இடையிலான உடன்படிக்கையின் அடையாளம் இதுவே.
I will place my arc in the clouds, and it will be the sign of the pact between myself and the earth.
14 நான் பூமிக்கு மேலாக மேகங்களை வரப்பண்ணுகையில், அம்மேகங்களில் வானவில் தோன்றும்போதெல்லாம்,
And when I obscure the sky with clouds, my arc will appear in the clouds.
15 உங்களோடும் எல்லாவித உயிரினங்களோடும் நான் செய்துகொண்ட என் உடன்படிக்கையை நினைவுகூருவேன். இனி ஒருபோதும் எல்லா உயிர்களையும் அழிக்கும்படி தண்ணீர் வெள்ளமாய் பெருகாது.
And I will remember my covenant with you, and with every living soul that enlivens flesh. And there will no longer be waters from a great flood to wipe away all that is flesh.
16 மேகங்களில் வானவில் தோன்றும்போதெல்லாம் நான் அதைப் பார்த்து, இறைவனுக்கும் பூமியிலுள்ள எல்லாவித உயிரினங்களுக்கும் இடையே உள்ள நித்திய உடன்படிக்கையை நினைவுகூருவேன்” என்றார்.
And the arc will be in the clouds, and I will see it, and I will remember the everlasting covenant that was enacted between God and every living soul of all that is flesh upon the earth.”
17 இப்படியாக இறைவன் நோவாவிடம், “எனக்கும் பூமியிலுள்ள எல்லா உயிர்களுக்கும் இடையே நான் ஏற்படுத்திய உடன்படிக்கையின் அடையாளம் இதுவே” என்று சொன்னார்.
And God said to Noah, “This will be the sign of the covenant that I have established between myself and all that is flesh upon the earth.”
18 பேழையிலிருந்து வெளியேறிய நோவாவின் மகன்கள் சேம், காம், யாப்பேத் என்பவர்களாவர். காம் கானானின் தகப்பன்.
And so the sons of Noah, who came out of the ark, were Shem, Ham, and Japheth. Now Ham himself is the father of Canaan.
19 நோவாவின் மூன்று மகன்கள் இவர்களே; இவர்களிலிருந்தே பூமி எங்கும் பரந்திருக்கும் மக்கள் வந்தார்கள்.
These three are the sons of Noah. And from these all the family of mankind was spread over the whole earth.
20 நோவா நிலத்தைப் பயிரிடுகிறவனாகி, திராட்சைத் தோட்டமொன்றை உண்டாக்கத் தொடங்கினான்.
And Noah, a good farmer, began to cultivate the land, and he planted a vineyard.
21 அவன் ஒரு நாள் தோட்டத்தின் திராட்சை இரசத்தைக் குடித்து, வெறிகொண்டு, தன் கூடாரத்தினுள்ளே உடை விலகிய நிலையில் கிடந்தான்.
And by drinking its wine, he became inebriated and was naked in his tent.
22 அப்பொழுது கானானின் தகப்பனான காம், தன் தகப்பனின் நிர்வாணத்தைக் கண்டு, வெளியே போய் தன் இரு சகோதரருக்கும் அதைத் தெரியப்படுத்தினான்.
Because of this, when Ham, the father of Canaan, had indeed seen the privates of his father to be naked, he reported it to his two brothers outside.
23 ஆனால் சேமும் யாப்பேத்தும் ஓர் உடையை எடுத்துத் தம் இருவர் தோளிலும் போட்டவாறு, பின்னிட்டுச் சென்று தங்கள் தகப்பனின் நிர்வாணத்தை மூடினார்கள். அவர்கள் தங்கள் தகப்பனின் நிர்வாணத்தைக் காணாதபடிக்குத் தங்கள் முகங்களை மறுபக்கமாகத் திருப்பிக்கொண்டார்கள்.
And truly, Shem and Japheth put a cloak upon their arms, and, advancing backwards, covered the privates of their father. And their faces were turned away, so that they did not see their father’s manhood.
24 நோவா வெறி தெளிந்து எழுந்தபோது, தன் இளையமகன் தனக்குச் செய்ததை அறிந்தான்.
Then Noah, awaking from the wine, when he had learned what his younger son had done to him,
25 எனவே அவன், “கானான் சபிக்கப்படட்டும்! அவன் தன் சகோதரர்களிலும் அடிமைகளிலும் கீழ்ப்பட்டவனாய் இருக்கட்டும்.”
he said, “Cursed be Canaan, a servant of servants will he be to his brothers.”
26 மேலும் நோவா சொன்னதாவது: “சேமின் இறைவனாகிய யெகோவாவுக்குத் துதி உண்டாவதாக! கானான் சேமுக்கு அடிமையாய் இருப்பானாக.
And he said: “Blessed be the Lord God of Shem, let Canaan be his servant.
27 இறைவன் யாப்பேத்தின் எல்லையை விரிவுபடுத்துவாராக; யாப்பேத் சேமின் கூடாரங்களில் குடியிருப்பானாக, கானான் யாப்பேத்துக்கு அடிமையாய் இருப்பானாக.”
May God enlarge Japheth, and may he live in the tents of Shem, and let Canaan be his servant.”
28 பெருவெள்ளத்திற்கு பிறகு நோவா முந்நூற்று ஐம்பது வருடங்கள் வாழ்ந்தான்.
And after the great flood, Noah lived for three hundred and fifty years.
29 நோவா மொத்தம் 950 வருடங்கள் வாழ்ந்தபின் இறந்தான்.
And all his days were completed in nine hundred and fifty years, and then he died.
