ஆதியாகமம் 39
1 யோசேப்பு எகிப்திற்குக் கொண்டுபோகப்பட்டிருந்தான். பார்வோனுடைய அதிகாரிகளில் ஒருவனும், காவல் அதிகாரியுமாகிய போத்திபார் என்னும் எகிப்தியன், யோசேப்பைக் கொண்டுசென்ற இஸ்மயேலரிடம் அவனை விலைக்கு வாங்கினான்.
Ioseph was brought vnto Egipte ad Putiphar a lorde of Pharaos: ad his chefe marshall an Egiptian bought him of ye Ismaelites which brought hi thither
2 யெகோவா யோசேப்புடன் இருந்தார், அதனால் அவன் செய்த எல்லாவற்றிலும் வெற்றிபெற்றான்; அவன் எகிப்திய எஜமானுடைய வீட்டில் தங்கியிருந்தான்.
And the LORde was with Ioseph and he was a luckie felowe and continued in the house of his master the Egiptian.
3 யெகோவா அவனோடு இருக்கிறார் என்றும், அவன் செய்யும் எல்லாவற்றிலும் யெகோவா அவனுக்கு வெற்றியைக் கொடுக்கிறார் என்றும் அவன் எஜமான் கண்டான்.
And his master sawe that the ORde was with him and that the LORde made all that he dyd prosper in his hande:
4 அப்போது யோசேப்புக்கு அவனுடைய எஜமானின் கண்களில் தயவு கிடைத்தால், அவன் அவனுடைய எஜமானின் தனிப்பட்ட உதவியாளன் ஆனான். போத்திபார் அவனைத் தன் வீட்டுக்குப் பொறுப்பாக வைத்து, தனக்குச் சொந்தமான எல்லாவற்றையும் அவன் பொறுப்பில் கொடுத்தான்.
Wherfore he founde grace in his masters syghte and serued him. And his master made him ruelar of his house and put all that he had in his hande.
5 இவ்வாறாக அவனுடைய வீட்டுக்கும், அவனுக்குச் சொந்தமான எல்லாவற்றிற்கும் பொறுப்பாக யோசேப்பை அவன் நியமித்ததுமுதல், யோசேப்பின் நிமித்தம் அந்த எகிப்தியனின் வீட்டை யெகோவா ஆசீர்வதித்தார். போத்திபாருக்கு அவனுடைய வீட்டிலும், வயல்வெளியிலும் உள்ள எல்லாவற்றிலும் யெகோவாவினுடைய ஆசீர்வாதம் இருந்தது.
And as soone as he had made him ruelar ouer his house ad ouer all that he had the LORde blessed this Egiptians house for Iosephs sake and the blessynge of the LORde was vpon all that he had: both in the house and also in the feldes.
6 அதனால் அவன் தனக்குள்ள எல்லாவற்றையும் யோசேப்பிடம் ஒப்படைத்து, அவனை அதிகாரியாக நியமித்தான். போத்திபாரோ தான் உண்ணும் உணவைத் தவிர வேறெதிலும் கவனம் செலுத்தவில்லை. யோசேப்பு நல்ல உடற்கட்டும் அழகிய தோற்றமும் உடையவனாய் இருந்தான்.
And therfore he left all that he had in Iosephs hande and loked vpon nothinge that was with him saue only on the bread which he ate. And Ioseph was a goodly persone and a well favored
7 சிலநாள் சென்றபின் போத்திபாரின் மனைவி யோசேப்பின்மீது ஆசைகொண்டு, “என்னுடன் உறவுகொள்ள வா!” என அழைத்தாள்.
And it fortuned after this that his masters wife cast hir eyes vpon Ioseph and sayde come lye with me.
8 அவனோ அதை மறுத்தான். அவன் அவளிடம், “என் எஜமான் தன் வீட்டிலுள்ள எதைக் குறித்தும் கவனிப்பதில்லை; தனக்குச் சொந்தமாயுள்ள அனைத்தையும் என்னுடைய பராமரிப்பில் ஒப்புவித்துள்ளார்.
But he denyed and sayde to her: Beholde my master woteth not what he hath in the house with me but hath commytted all that he hath to my hande
9 இந்த வீட்டில் என்னைவிடப் பெரியவன் ஒருவனும் இல்லை. நீ அவருடைய மனைவி என்பதால் உன்னைத்தவிர, வேறொன்றையும் அவர் என்னிடமிருந்து விலக்கி வைக்கவில்லை. அப்படியிருக்க, இவ்வாறான கொடுமையான செயலைச் செய்து, இறைவனுக்கு விரோதமாகப் பாவஞ்செய்ய என்னால் எப்படி முடியும்?” என்றான்.
He him selfe is not greatter in the house than I ad hath kepte nothige fro me but only the because thou art his wife. How than cam I do this great wykydnes for to synne agaynst God?
10 அவள் நாளுக்குநாள் யோசேப்பைக் கட்டாயப்படுத்திய போதிலும், அவளோடு படுக்கைக்குச் செல்லவோ, அவளோடு இருக்கவோ அவன் உடன்படவில்லை.
And after this maner spake she to Ioseph daye by daye: but he harkened not vnto her to slepe nere her or to be in her company.
11 ஒரு நாள் யோசேப்பு தன் கடமைகளைச் செய்வதற்காக வீட்டுக்குள் போனான், வீட்டு வேலைக்காரர் யாரும் உள்ளே இருக்கவில்லை.
And it fortuned aboute the same season that Ioseph entred in to the house to do his busynes: and there was none of the houshold by in the house.
12 அப்பொழுது அவள் யோசேப்பின் மேலுடையைப் பிடித்துக்கொண்டு, “என்னுடன் படுக்கைக்கு வா” என்றாள். அவனோ தன் மேலுடையை அவள் கையிலேயே விட்டு, வீட்டுக்கு வெளியே ஓடிவிட்டான்.
And she caught him by the garment saynge: come slepe with me. And he left his garment in hir hande ad fled and gott him out
13 அவன் தன்னுடைய மேலுடையைத் தன் கையிலே விட்டுவிட்டு, வீட்டுக்கு வெளியே ஓடிப்போனதை அவள் கண்டபோது,
when she sawe that he had left his garmet in hir hande and was fled out
14 தன் வீட்டு வேலைக்காரரைக் கூப்பிட்டு, “இதோ பாருங்கள், இந்த எபிரெயன் நம்மை அவமானப்படுத்தும்படி இங்கு கொண்டுவரப்பட்டிருக்கிறான்! அவன் என்னுடன் உறவுகொள்ளும்படி உள்ளே வந்தான். நான் கூச்சலிட்டேன்.
she called vnto the men of the house and tolde them saynge: Se he hath brought in an Hebrewe vnto vs to do vs shame. for he came in to me for to haue slept myth me. But I cried with a lowde voyce.
15 நான் உதவிகேட்டுக் கூச்சலிட்டதை அவன் கேட்டவுடன், தன் மேலுடையை இங்கே விட்டுவிட்டு வெளியே ஓடிவிட்டான்” என்றாள்.
And when he harde that I lyfte vp my voyce and cryed he left his garment with me and fled awaye and got him out.
16 அவள் அவனுடைய எஜமான் வீட்டுக்கு வரும்வரை அந்த மேலுடையை தன்னருகிலேயே வைத்திருந்தாள்.
And she layed vp his garment by her vntill hir lorde came home.
17 அவன் வந்ததும் அவனிடம் இந்தக் கதையைச் சொன்னாள்: “நீர் நம்மிடம் கொண்டுவந்த அந்த எபிரெய அடிமை என்னை அவமானப்படுத்தும்படி இங்கு வந்தான்.
And she told him acordynge to these wordes saynge. This Hebrues servaunte which thou hast brought vnto vs came in to me to do me shame.
18 நான் உதவிக்காகக் கூச்சலிட, உடனே அவன் தன் மேலுடையை என் அருகே விட்டுவிட்டு, வீட்டுக்கு வெளியே ஓடிவிட்டான்” என்றாள்.
But as soone as I lyft vp my voyce and cryed he left his garment with me and fled out.
19 “இப்படித்தான் உம்முடைய அடிமை என்னை நடத்தினான்” என்று தன் மனைவி தனக்குச் சொன்ன வார்த்தைகளை அவனுடைய எஜமான் கேட்டதும், அவனுடைய கோபம் பற்றி எரிந்தது.
When his master herde the woordes of his wyfe which she tolde him saynge: after this maner dyd thy servaunte to me he waxed wrooth.
20 யோசேப்பின் எஜமான் அவனைக் கைதுசெய்து, அரச கைதிகளை அடைத்துவைக்கும் சிறையில் போட்டான். யோசேப்பு சிறையில் இருக்கும்போதும்,
And he toke Ioseph and put him in pryson: euen in the place where the kinges prisoners laye bounde. And there contynued he in preson.
21 யெகோவா யோசேப்போடே இருந்தார்; அவர் அவனுக்கு இரக்கங்காட்டி, சிறைச்சாலைத் தலைவனின் கண்களில் அவனுக்குத் தயவு கிடைக்கச்செய்தார்.
But the LORde was with Ioseph ad shewed him mercie and gott him fauoure in the syghte of the keper of ye preson
22 அதனால் சிறைக்காவல் அதிகாரி யோசேப்பைச் சிறையில் அடைக்கப்பட்டிருந்த எல்லோருக்கும் அதிகாரியாக்கினான்; அங்கு செய்யப்படவேண்டிய எல்லாவற்றுக்கும் அவனையே பொறுப்பாகவும் வைத்தான்.
which commytted to Iosephe hade all the presoners that were in the preson housse. And what soeuer was done there yt dyd he.
23 யெகோவா யோசேப்போடு இருந்து, அவன் செய்த அனைத்திலும் வெற்றியைக் கொடுத்தார்; அதனால் சிறைச்சாலைத் தலைவன் யோசேப்பின் பொறுப்பிலிருந்த எதையும் மேற்பார்வை செய்யவில்லை.
And the keper of the preso loked vnto nothinge that was vnder his hande because the LORde was with him and because that what soeuer he dyd the LORde made it come luckely to passe.
