ஆதியாகமம் 30

1 யாக்கோபுக்கு ராகேல் பிள்ளைகள் எதையும் பெறாததினால், ராகேல் தன் சகோதரியின்மேல் பொறாமை கொண்டாள். எனவே அவள் யாக்கோபிடம், “நீர் எனக்கு பிள்ளைகளைக் கொடும்; இல்லாவிட்டால் நான் சாகப்போகிறேன்” என்றாள்.

And Rachel seeth that she hath not borne to Jacob, and Rachel is envious of her sister, and saith unto Jacob, 'Give me sons, and if there is none — I die.'

2 அப்பொழுது யாக்கோபு ராகேலின்மேல் கோபங்கொண்டு, “நான் என்ன இறைவனா? அவர் அல்லவா உன்னைப் பிள்ளைப்பேறு அற்றவளாக்கி இருக்கிறார்!” என்றான்.

And Jacob's anger burneth against Rachel, and he saith, 'Am I in stead of God who hath withheld from thee the fruit of the womb?'

3 அதற்கு அவள், “இதோ என் பணிப்பெண் பில்காள் இருக்கிறாள், அவளுடன் உறவுகொள்ளும். அவள் எனக்காகப் பிள்ளைகளைப் பெறட்டும், அவள் மூலம் நானும் ஒரு குடும்பத்தைக் கட்டலாமே” என்றாள்.

And she saith, 'Lo, my handmaid Bilhah, go in unto her, and she doth bear on my knees, and I am built up, even I, from her;'

4 அப்படியே அவள் தன் பணிப்பெண் பில்காளை யாக்கோபுக்கு மனைவியாகக் கொடுத்தாள். யாக்கோபு அவளுடன் உறவுகொண்டான்.

and she giveth to him Bilhah her maid-servant for a wife, and Jacob goeth in unto her;

5 பில்காள் கருத்தரித்து, அவனுக்கு ஒரு மகனைப் பெற்றாள்.

and Bilhah conceiveth, and beareth to Jacob a son,

6 அப்பொழுது ராகேல், “இறைவன் எனக்கு நியாயம் செய்து, என் வேண்டுதலைக் கேட்டு, எனக்கொரு மகனைத் தந்தார்” என்றாள். அதனால் அவனுக்கு, தாண் என்று பெயரிட்டாள்.

and Rachel saith, 'God hath decided for me, and also hath hearkened to my voice, and giveth to me a son;' therefore hath she called his name Dan.

7 மறுபடியும் ராகேலின் பணிப்பெண் பில்காள் கருத்தரித்து, யாக்கோபுக்கு இரண்டாவது மகனைப் பெற்றாள்.

And Bilhah, Rachel's maid-servant, conceiveth again, and beareth a second son to Jacob,

8 அப்பொழுது ராகேல், “என் சகோதரியுடன் எனக்கிருந்த பெரிய போராட்டத்தில் நான் வெற்றியடைந்தேன்” என்று சொல்லி, அவனுக்கு நப்தலி எனப் பெயரிட்டாள்.

and Rachel saith, 'With wrestlings of God I have wrestled with my sister, yea, I have prevailed;' and she calleth his name Napthali.

9 லேயாள் தனக்குப் பிள்ளைப்பேறு நின்றுபோனதைக் கண்டு, தன் பணிப்பெண் சில்பாளை யாக்கோபுக்கு மனைவியாகக் கொடுத்தாள்.

And Leah seeth that she hath ceased from bearing, and she taketh Zilpah her maid-servant, and giveth her to Jacob for a wife;

10 லேயாளின் பணிப்பெண் சில்பாள் யாக்கோபுக்கு ஒரு மகனைப் பெற்றாள்.

and Zilpah, Leah's maid-servant, beareth to Jacob a son,

11 அப்பொழுது லேயாள், “நான் எவ்வளவு அதிர்ஷ்டசாலி” என்று சொல்லி அவனுக்கு காத் என்று பெயரிட்டாள்.

and Leah saith, 'A troop is coming;' and she calleth his name Gad.

12 லேயாளின் பணிப்பெண் சில்பாள் யாக்கோபுக்கு இரண்டாவது மகனையும் பெற்றாள்.

And Zilpah, Leah's maid-servant, beareth a second son to Jacob,

13 அப்பொழுது லேயாள், “நான் எவ்வளவு மகிழ்ச்சியாய் இருக்கிறேன்! பெண்கள் எல்லாரும் என்னை, மகிழ்ச்சி உள்ளவள் என அழைப்பார்கள்” என்றாள். அதனால் அவனுக்கு ஆசேர் என்று பெயரிட்டாள்.

and Leah saith, 'Because of my happiness, for daughters have pronounced me happy;' and she calleth his name Asher.

14 கோதுமை அறுவடைக்காலத்தில் ரூபன் வயல்வெளிக்குப் போனான். அங்கே தூதாயீம் மூலிகைச் செடியைக் கண்டு அவற்றைக் கொண்டுவந்து தன் தாய் லேயாளிடம் கொடுத்தான். ராகேல் லேயாளிடம், “உன் மகன் கொண்டுவந்த மூலிகைகளில் எனக்கும் கொஞ்சம் தா” என்றாள்.

And Reuben goeth in the days of wheat-harvest, and findeth love-apples in the field, and bringeth them in unto Leah, his mother, and Rachel saith unto Leah, 'Give to me, I pray thee, of the love-apples of thy son.'

15 அதற்கு லேயாள், “நீ என் கணவனை என்னிடமிருந்து எடுத்துக்கொண்டது போதாதோ? என் மகன் கொண்டுவந்த தூதாயீம் மூலிகையையும் அபகரிக்கப் பார்க்கிறாயோ?” என்று கேட்டாள். அதற்கு ராகேல், “அப்படியானால், உன் மகன் கொண்டுவந்த தூதாயீம் மூலிகைக்குப் பதிலாக, அவர் இன்றிரவை உன்னுடன் கழிக்கட்டுமே” என்றாள்.

And she saith to her, 'Is thy taking my husband a little thing, that thou hast taken also the love-apples of my son?' and Rachel saith, 'Therefore doth he lie with thee to-night, for thy son's love-apples.'

16 அப்படியே மாலைவேளையில் யாக்கோபு வயல்வெளியிலிருந்து திரும்பிவந்தபோது, லேயாள் அவனைச் சந்திக்கும்படி வெளியே போய், “என் மகன் ரூபன் கொண்டுவந்த தூதாயீம் மூலிகையைக் கொடுத்து நான் உம்மை வாங்கிக் கொண்டேன். எனவே இன்றிரவு நீர் என்னுடன் தங்கவேண்டும்” என்றாள். அப்படியே அவன் அன்றிரவு அவளுடன் உறவுகொண்டான்.

And Jacob cometh in from the field at evening; and Leah goeth to meet him, and saith, 'Unto me dost thou come in, for hiring I have hired thee with my son's love-apples;' and he lieth with her during that night.

17 இறைவன் லேயாளின் வேண்டுதலைக் கேட்டார். அவள் கருத்தரித்து யாக்கோபுக்கு ஐந்தாவது மகனைப் பெற்றாள்.

And God hearkeneth unto Leah, and she conceiveth, and beareth to Jacob a son, a fifth,

18 அப்பொழுது லேயாள், “நான் என் பணிப்பெண் சில்பாளை என் கணவனுக்குக் கொடுத்ததற்காக இறைவன் எனக்கு வெகுமதி அளித்தார்” என்று சொல்லி அவனுக்கு இசக்கார் என்று பெயரிட்டாள்.

and Leah saith, 'God hath given my hire, because I have given my maid-servant to my husband;' and she calleth his name Issachar.

19 லேயாள் மறுபடியும் கர்ப்பந்தரித்து, யாக்கோபுக்கு ஆறாவது மகனைப் பெற்றாள்.

And conceive again doth Leah, and she beareth a sixth son to Jacob,

20 அப்பொழுது லேயாள், “இறைவன் எனக்கு ஒரு விலையேறப்பெற்ற வெகுமதியைப் பரிசாகக் கொடுத்தார். நான் ஆறு மகன்களைப் பெற்றபடியால், என் கணவர் இப்பொழுது என்னை மதிப்புடன் நடத்துவார்” என்று சொல்லி அவனுக்குச் செபுலோன் என்று பெயரிட்டாள்.

and Leah saith, 'God hath endowed me — a good dowry; this time doth my husband dwell with me, for I have borne to him six sons;' and she calleth his name Zebulun;

21 சில காலத்திற்குப் பின்பு அவள் ஒரு மகளையும் பெற்று அவளுக்குத் தீனாள் என்று பெயரிட்டாள்.

and afterwards hath she born a daughter, and calleth her name Dinah.

22 பின்பு இறைவன் ராகேலையும் நினைவுகூர்ந்தார்; அவளுடைய வேண்டுதலைக் கேட்டு அவளுக்கும் பிள்ளைப்பேற்றைக் கொடுத்தார்.

And God remembereth Rachel, and God hearkeneth unto her, and openeth her womb,

23 அவள் கருத்தரித்து ஒரு மகனைப் பெற்று, “இறைவன் என் அவமானத்தை நீக்கிவிட்டார்” என்று சொன்னாள்.

and she conceiveth and beareth a son, and saith, 'God hath gathered up my reproach;'

24 அவள் அவனுக்கு யோசேப்பு எனப் பெயரிட்டு, “யெகோவா இன்னும் ஒரு மகனை எனக்குக் கொடுப்பாராக” என்றாள்.

and she calleth his name Joseph, saying, 'Jehovah is adding to me another son.'

25 ராகேல் யோசேப்பைப் பெற்றபின், யாக்கோபு லாபானிடம், “நான் என் சொந்த நாட்டிற்குத் திரும்பிப் போவதற்காக என்னை வழியனுப்பிவிடும்.

And it cometh to pass, when Rachel hath borne Joseph, that Jacob saith unto Laban, 'Send me away, and I go unto my place, and to my land;

26 என் மனைவிகளையும், என் பிள்ளைகளையும் என்னுடன் அனுப்பிவிடும்; அவர்களுக்காகவே உம்மிடம் நான் வேலைசெய்தேன், நான் போகப்போகிறேன். உமக்காக எவ்வளவு வேலைசெய்தேன் என்பது உமக்குத் தெரியும்” என்றான்.

give up my wives and my children, for whom I have served thee, and I go; for thou — thou hast known my service which I have served thee.'

27 ஆனால் லாபானோ அவனிடம், “உன் கண்களில் எனக்குத் தயவு கிடைக்குமானால், நீ இங்கேயே தங்கியிரு. உன் நிமித்தமாக யெகோவா என்னையும் ஆசீர்வதித்தார் என்பதை நான் குறிபார்த்து அறிந்துகொண்டேன்” என்றான்.

And Laban saith unto him, 'If, I pray thee, I have found grace in thine eyes — I have observed diligently that Jehovah doth bless me for thy sake.'

28 மேலும் அவன், “நீ உன் கூலியைச் சொல்; அதை நான் உனக்குக் கொடுப்பேன்” என்றான்.

He saith also, 'Define thy hire to me, and I give.'

29 யாக்கோபு அவனிடம், “நான் உம்மிடத்தில் எப்படி வேலைசெய்தேன் என்பதையும், என் பராமரிப்பில் உமது மந்தை எப்படி நலமாய் இருந்தன என்பதையும் நீர் அறிவீர்.

And he saith unto him, 'Thou — thou hast known that which I have served thee [in], and that which thy substance was with me;

30 நான் வருமுன் உம்மிடத்திலிருந்த சிறிய மந்தை, இப்போது எவ்வளவாய் பெருகியிருக்கிறது. நான் இருந்த இடங்களில் எல்லாம் யெகோவா உம்மை ஆசீர்வதித்திருக்கிறார். ஆனால் நான் எப்பொழுது என் சொந்த குடும்பத்திற்கு சம்பாதிக்கப் போகிறேன்?” என்றான்.

for [it is] little which thou hast had at my appearance, and it breaketh forth into a multitude, and Jehovah blesseth thee at my coming; and now, when do I make, I also, for mine own house?'

31 அதற்கு லாபான், “நான் உனக்கு என்ன தரவேண்டும்?” என்று கேட்டான். அதற்கு யாக்கோபு, “எனக்கு எதையும் தரவேண்டாம். எனக்காக இந்த ஒரு காரியத்தை மட்டும் நீர் செய்வீரானால் நான் இங்கேயே தங்கி தொடர்ந்து உமது மந்தையை மேய்த்து, அவற்றைப் பராமரிப்பேன்.

And he saith, 'What do I give to thee?' And Jacob saith, 'Thou dost not give me anything; if thou do for me this thing, I turn back; I have delight; thy flock I watch;

32 அதாவது, நான் உமது ஆட்டுத் தொழுவத்துக்குச் சென்று, அவற்றில் கலப்பு நிறமும் புள்ளிகளும் உள்ள செம்மறியாடுகளையும், கருப்புநிறச் செம்மறியாட்டுக் குட்டிகளையும், புள்ளிகளும் கலப்பு நிறமும் உள்ள வெள்ளாடுகளையும் பிரித்து எடுத்துக்கொள்கிறேன். அவை என் கூலியாக இருக்கும்.

I pass through all thy flock to-day to turn aside from thence every sheep speckled and spotted, and every brown sheep among the lambs, and speckled and spotted among the goats — and it hath been my hire;

33 எதிர்காலத்தில் நீர் எனக்குக் கூலியாய் கொடுத்திருக்கிற இவற்றைப் பார்க்கும் போதெல்லாம், என் நேர்மையே எனக்காக சாட்சியிடும். நீர் சோதித்துப் பார்க்கும்போது என்னிடம் கலப்பு நிறமும், புள்ளிகளும் இல்லாத வெள்ளாடுகளும், கருப்பு நிறமல்லாத செம்மறியாட்டுக் குட்டிகளும் இருக்குமானால், அவை திருடப்பட்டவைகளாகக் கருதப்படும்” என்றான்.

and my righteousness hath answered for me in the day to come, when it cometh in for my hire before thy face; — every one which is not speckled and spotted among [my] goats, and brown among [my] lambs — it is stolen with me.'

34 அதற்கு லாபான், “சம்மதிக்கிறேன்; நீ சொன்னபடியே ஆகட்டும்” என்றான்.

And Laban saith, 'Lo, O that it were according to thy word;'

35 ஆனால் அன்றே லாபான் தன் மந்தையிலிருந்து வரிகளும், புள்ளிகளுமுள்ள எல்லா வெள்ளாட்டுக் கடாக்களையும், வெள்ளைநிறப் புள்ளியுடன் கலப்பு நிறமும் புள்ளிகளுமுள்ள எல்லா வெள்ளாடுகளையும், கருப்பு நிற செம்மறியாட்டுக் குட்டிகளையும் பிரித்தெடுத்து, அவற்றைத் தன் மகன்களின் பராமரிப்பில் விட்டான்.

and he turneth aside during that day the ring-streaked and the spotted he-goats, and all the speckled and the spotted she-goats, every one that [hath] white in it, and every brown one among the lambs, and he giveth into the hand of his sons,

36 மேலும் லாபான் தனக்கும் யாக்கோபுக்கும் இடையே மூன்றுநாள் பயணத்தூரம் இருக்கும்படி செய்தான். மீதமுள்ள லாபானின் மந்தைகளை யாக்கோபு மேய்த்து வந்தான்.

and setteth a journey of three days between himself and Jacob; and Jacob is feeding the rest of the flock of Laban.

37 ஆனாலும் யாக்கோபு புன்னை, வாதுமை, அர்மோன் மரங்களில் இருந்து பசுமையான கொப்புகளை வெட்டி, இடையிடையே உள்ளே உள்ள வெண்மை தோன்றும்படி பட்டைகளை உரித்து, வெள்ளை நிறக்கோடுகளை உண்டாக்கினான்.

And Jacob taketh to himself a rod of fresh poplar, and of the hazel and chesnut, and doth peel in them white peelings, making bare the white that [is] on the rods,

38 மந்தை தண்ணீர் குடிக்க வரும்போது பட்டை உரிக்கப்பட்ட அக்கொப்புகள் மந்தைக்கு நேரே இருக்கும்படி தொட்டிகளுக்குள் வைத்தான். அவை கருத்தரிக்கப்படும் காலத்தில் தண்ணீர் குடிக்க வரும்போது, அக்கொப்புகளை அவைகளுக்கு எதிராக வைத்தான்.

and setteth up the rods which he hath peeled in the gutters in the watering troughs (when the flock cometh in to drink), over-against the flock, that they may conceive in their coming in to drink;

39 இதனால் அவை வரிகளை அல்லது கலப்பு நிறத்தை அல்லது புள்ளிகளையுடைய குட்டிகளையே ஈன்றன.

and the flocks conceive at the rods, and the flock beareth ring-streaked, speckled, and spotted ones.

40 யாக்கோபு அக்குட்டிகளை வேறுபிரித்து, லாபானுக்குரிய மந்தையை வரியும் கருப்புமான மந்தைக்கு எதிராக நிறுத்தினான். இவ்வாறு அவன் தனக்கு மந்தையை உண்டாக்கினான். அவற்றை லாபானின் மந்தையோடு அவன் சேர்க்கவில்லை.

And the lambs hath Jacob parted, and he putteth the face of the flock towards the ring-streaked, also all the brown in the flock of Laban, and he setteth his own droves by themselves, and hath not set them near Laban's flock.

41 பலமான ஆடுகள் கருத்தரிக்கப்படும் காலத்தில், அவை அந்த மரக்கொப்புகளுக்கு அருகே கருத்தரிக்கும்படி யாக்கோபு அவற்றைத் தண்ணீர்த் தொட்டிகளுக்குள் வைப்பான்.

And it hath come to pass whenever the strong ones of the flock conceive, that Jacob set the rods before the eyes of the flock in the gutters, to cause them to conceive by the rods,

42 பலவீனமான ஆடுகளானால், அவன் கொப்புகளை அங்கே வைக்கமாட்டான். அதனால் பலவீனமான ஆடுகள் லாபானுக்கும், பலமான ஆடுகள் யாக்கோபுக்கும் சொந்தமாயின.

and when the flock is feeble, he doth not set [them]; and the feeble ones have been Laban's, and the strong ones Jacob's.

43 இவ்வாறு யாக்கோபு பெரிய செல்வந்தனாகி, திரளான மந்தைக்கும், வேலைக்காரருக்கும், வேலைக்காரிகளுக்கும், ஒட்டகங்களுக்கும், கழுதைகளுக்கும் உரிமையாளன் ஆனான்.

And the man increaseth very exceedingly, and hath many flocks, and maid-servants, and men-servants, and camels, and asses.
