எசேக்கியேல் 9

1 பின்பு யெகோவா, “நகர் காவலரை இங்கு கொண்டுவாருங்கள். அவர்கள் ஒவ்வொருவரும் தங்கள் கையில் ஆயுதத்துடன் வரட்டும்” என உரத்த குரலில் கூப்பிடுவதை நான் கேட்டேன்.

He cried also in my ears with a loud voice, saying, Cause them that have charge over the city to draw near, even every man with his destroying weapon in his hand.

2 அப்பொழுது ஆறு மனிதர் வடக்கை நோக்கியிருந்த மேல் வாசலின் திசையிலிருந்து வருவதை நான் கண்டேன். அவர்கள் ஒவ்வொருவனுடைய கையிலும் பயங்கர ஆயுதம் இருந்தது. அவர்களுடன் மென்பட்டு உடை உடுத்தி, ஒரு மனிதன் இருந்தான். அவன் தன் இடுப்பில் எழுத்தாளனுக்குரிய மைக்கூட்டினை கட்டியிருந்தான். அவர்கள் உள்ளே வந்து வெண்கலப் பலிபீடத்தின் அருகே நின்றார்கள்.

And, behold, six men came from the way of the higher gate, which lieth toward the north, and every man a slaughter weapon in his hand; and one man among them was clothed with linen, with a writer’s inkhorn by his side: and they went in, and stood beside the brasen altar.

3 அப்பொழுது கேருபீன்மேலிருந்த இஸ்ரயேலின் இறைவனது மகிமை அங்கிருந்து மேலெழுந்து, ஆலய வாசற்படிக்கு வந்தது. பின்பு மென்பட்டு உடை உடுத்தி, எழுத்தாளனுக்குரிய மைக்கூட்டைத் தன் இடுப்பில் கட்டியிருந்த மனிதனை யெகோவா கூப்பிட்டார்.

And the glory of the God of Israel had gone up from the cherub, on which he was, to the threshold of the house. And he called to the man clothed with linen, who had the writer’s inkhorn by his side;

4 அவர் அவனிடம், “எருசலேம் பட்டணமெங்கும் போய், அங்கே செய்யப்படுகின்ற எல்லாவித அருவருப்பான காரியங்களுக்காகவும் வருந்திப் புலம்புகிறவர்களின் நெற்றியில் ஒரு அடையாளத்தை இடு” என்றார்.

And the LORD said to him, Go through the midst of the city, through the midst of Jerusalem, and set a mark upon the foreheads of the men that sigh and that cry for all the abominations that are done in the midst of it.

5 நான் கவனித்துக் கேட்டுக்கொண்டிருக்கும்போதே, அவர் மற்றவர்களிடம், “நீங்கள் இவன் பின்னே பட்டணமெங்கும் சென்று கொல்லுங்கள். இரக்கமோ கருணையோ காட்டவேண்டாம்.

And to the others he said in my hearing, Go ye after him through the city, and smite: let not your eye spare, neither have ye pity:

6 வயது முதிர்ந்த ஆண்கள், வாலிபர், கன்னியர், பெண்கள், பிள்ளைகள் எல்லோரையுமே கொல்லுங்கள். ஆனால் தங்கள் நெற்றிகளில் அடையாளத்தைக் கொண்டிருக்கும் ஒருவரையும் தொடவேண்டாம். அதை என் பரிசுத்த இடத்திலிருந்தே ஆரம்பியுங்கள்” என்றார். அப்படியே அவர்கள் கொல்லுவதை ஆலயத்தின் முன்னால் இருந்த சபைத்தலைவர்களிலிருந்து ஆரம்பித்தார்கள்.

Slay utterly old and young, both maids, and little children, and women: but come not near any man upon whom is the mark; and begin at my sanctuary. Then they began at the elders who were before the house.

7 பின்பு அவர் அவர்களிடம், “புறப்படுங்கள் நீங்கள் கொலையுண்டவர்களாலே முற்றத்தை நிரப்பி ஆலயத்தைத் அசுத்தப்படுத்துங்கள்” என்றார். அவ்வாறே அவர்கள் எருசலேம் நகரெங்கும் சென்று கொல்லத் தொடங்கினார்கள்.

And he said to them, Defile the house, and fill the courts with the slain: go ye forth. And they went forth, and slew in the city.

8 அவர்கள் கொலைசெய்து கொண்டிருக்கையில் நான் தனியாய் விடப்பட்டிருந்தேன். அப்பொழுது நான் முகங்குப்புற விழுந்து கதறி அழுது, “ஆ! ஆண்டவராகிய யெகோவாவே! நீர் உம்முடைய கோபத்தை இம்முறை எருசலேமின்மேல் ஊற்றும்போது, இஸ்ரயேலின் மீதியான யாவரையும் அழித்து விடுவீரோ?” என்று கேட்டேன்.

And it came to pass, while they were slaying them, and I was left, that I fell upon my face, and cried, and said, Ah Lord GOD! wilt thou destroy the whole remnant of Israel in thy pouring out of thy fury upon Jerusalem?

9 அவர் எனக்குப் பதிலளித்து, “இஸ்ரயேல், யூதா குடும்பங்களின் பாவம் மிகுதியாய்ப் பெருகிவிட்டது. நாடு இரத்தப்பழிகளால் நிறைந்திருக்கிறது. நகரம் அநீதியினால் நிறைந்திருக்கிறது. அவர்களோ, ‘யெகோவா நாட்டைக் கைவிட்டுவிட்டார்; நடப்பவை இன்னதென்று யெகோவா அறியாதிருக்கிறார்’ என்று சொல்கிறார்கள்.

Then said he to me, The iniquity of the house of Israel and Judah is exceeding great, and the land is full of blood, and the city full of perverseness: for they say, The LORD hath forsaken the earth, and the LORD seeth not.

10 எனவே நான் அவர்கள்மேல் தயவு காட்டுவதுமில்லை, அவர்களைத் தப்பவிடுவதுமில்லை. ஆனால் அவர்களுடைய நடத்தையின் பலனையோ அவர்கள் தலையின்மேல் வரப்பண்ணுவேன்” என்றார்.

And as for me also, my eye shall not spare, neither will I have pity, but I will recompense their way upon their head.

11 அப்பொழுது மென்பட்டு உடை உடுத்தி, எழுத்தாளனுக்குரிய மைக்கூட்டைத் தன் இடுப்பில் கட்டியிருந்த அம்மனிதன் திரும்பிவந்து, “நீர் எனக்குக் கட்டளையிட்டபடியே நான் செய்துவிட்டேன்” என்று அறிவித்தான்.

And, behold, the man clothed with linen, who had the inkhorn by his side, reported the matter, saying, I have done as thou hast commanded me.
