எசேக்கியேல் 18

1 யெகோவாவின் வார்த்தை எனக்கு வந்தது,

2 “‘தந்தையர் திராட்சைக் காய்களைத் தின்ன பிள்ளைகளின் பற்கள் கூசியது: என்று இஸ்ரயேல் நாட்டைக்குறித்து, நீங்கள் சொல்லும் பழமொழியின் அர்த்தம் என்ன’?

3 “நான் வாழ்வது நிச்சயம்போலவே, நீங்கள் இனிமேல் இப்பழமொழியை இஸ்ரயேலில் சொல்லப்போவதில்லை என்பதும் நிச்சயம் என்று ஆண்டவராகிய யெகோவா சொல்லுகிறார்.

5 “நீதியையும் நியாயத்தையும் செய்யும் நீதியுள்ள மனிதனொருவன் இருப்பானாகில்,

6 அவன் மலைகளிலுள்ள சிறு கோவில்களில் படைக்கப்பட்டதைச் சாப்பிடாமலும், இஸ்ரயேல் வீட்டாரின் விக்கிரகங்களை நம்பாமலும் இருப்பான். அவன் தன் அயலான் மனைவியைக் கறைப்படுத்தாமலும், மாதவிடாய்க் காலங்களில் பெண்ணுடன் உறவுகொள்ளாமலும் இருப்பான்.

7 அவன் ஒருவரையும் ஒடுக்காமல் கடனுக்காய்ப் பெற்ற அடைமானத்தைத் திரும்பக்கொடுப்பான். அவன் கொள்ளையிடமாட்டான். ஆனால் அவன் பசியுடையோருக்கு உணவும், உடையில்லாதோருக்கு உடையும் கொடுப்பான்.

8 அவன் பணத்தை அதிக வட்டிக்குக் கொடுக்கமாட்டான். அவன் அதிக இலாபம் பெறவும் மாட்டான். தனது கையைத் தவறு செய்வதிலிருந்து விலக்கி, இரண்டு குழுக்களுக்கு இடையில் நீதியாய் நியாயந்தீர்ப்பான்.

9 அவன் என்னுடைய கட்டளைகளைப் பின்பற்றி, என்னுடைய சட்டங்களை உண்மையாய்க் கடைப்பிடிப்பான். அப்படிப்பட்ட மனிதனே நேர்மையானவன். அவன் நிச்சயமாய் வாழ்வான் என்று ஆண்டவராகிய யெகோவா அறிவிக்கிறார்.

10 “ஆனால் அவனுக்கு வன்முறை செய்யும் ஒரு மகன் இருந்து, அவன் இரத்தம் சிந்துகிறவனாயோ, நல்லதல்லாத காரியங்களில் எதிலாவது ஈடுபடுகிறவனாயோ,

11 அவனுடைய தகப்பன் செய்யாத எதையாவது செய்கிறவனாயோ இருந்தால், “அவன் மலைக்கோவில்களில் படைக்கப்பட்டதைச் சாப்பிடுகிறவன். அயலான் மனைவியைக் கறைப்படுத்துகிறவன்.

12 அவன் ஏழையையும் வறியோரையும் ஒடுக்குகிறவன். அவன் கொள்ளையடிக்கிறவன். அவன் அடைமானமாக வாங்கியதைத் திருப்பிக் கொடுப்பதில்லை. விக்கிரகங்களில் நம்பிக்கை வைக்கிறவன். அவன் அருவருப்பானவைகளைச் செய்கிறவன்.

19 “என்றாலும் நீங்கள், ‘தந்தையின் குற்றத்தை மகன் ஏன் சுமப்பதில்லை?’ என்று கேட்கிறீர்கள், அந்த மகனோ நீதியான, நியாயமானவற்றைச் செய்து என் கட்டளைகள் எல்லாவற்றையும் கைக்கொள்ள கவனமாயிருந்தபடியால், நிச்சயமாக வாழ்வான்.

20 பாவம் செய்த ஆத்துமாவே சாகும். தந்தையின் குற்றத்தில் மகன் பங்குபெறமாட்டான். மகனின் குற்றத்தில் தகப்பனும் பங்குபெறமாட்டான். நீதியானவனுடைய நீதி அவனுக்குரியதாக எண்ணப்படும். கொடியவர்களின் கொடுமையோ அவர்களுக்கு விரோதமான குற்றமாக எண்ணப்படும்.

21 “ஆனாலும் கொடியவன் தான் செய்த எல்லா பாவங்களிலிருந்தும் திரும்பி, என்னுடைய எல்லா கட்டளைகளையும் கைக்கொண்டு, நீதியானதையும் சரியானதையும் செய்வானேயாகில் நிச்சயமாக அவன் வாழ்வான், அவன் சாகமாட்டான்.

22 அவன் செய்த குற்றங்களில் ஒன்றாகிலும் அவனுக்கு விரோதமாக நினைக்கப்படுவதில்லை. அவன் செய்த நீதியான காரியங்களின் நிமித்தம் அவன் வாழ்வான்.

24 “ஆனால் நீதிமான் ஒருவன் தன் நீதியிலிருந்து விலகி, பாவம் செய்து, கொடியவன் செய்வது போன்ற அருவருப்பான அதே காரியங்களையும் செய்வானேயாகில் அவன் பிழைப்பானோ? அவன் செய்த நீதியான காரியங்கள் எதுவுமே நினைக்கப்படுவதில்லை. உண்மையற்றவனாய் இருப்பதன் நிமித்தம் அவன் குற்றவாளியாயிருக்கிறான். அவன் தான் செய்த பாவங்களினிமித்தம் மரிப்பான்.

25 “என்றாலும் நீங்கள், ‘யெகோவாவின் வழி நீதியானதல்ல’ என்கிறீர்கள். இஸ்ரயேல் குடும்பத்தாரே கேளுங்கள்; எனது வழி நீதியற்றதோ? உங்கள் வழிகள் அல்லவோ நீதியற்றவை.

26 நீதிமான் ஒருவன் தன் நீதியைவிட்டு விலகி பாவம் செய்வானாகில், அதன் நிமித்தம் அவன் மரிப்பான். அவன் செய்த பாவத்திற்காகவே அவன் மரிப்பான்.

27 ஆனால், கொடியவனொருவன் தான் செய்த கொடுமையை விட்டு விலகி, நீதியானதையும் செய்வானாகில் அவன் தன் உயிரைக் காத்துக்கொள்வான்.

29 அப்படியிருந்தபோதிலும், ‘யெகோவாவின் வழி நீதியற்றது என்று இஸ்ரயேல் குடும்பத்தார் கூறுகிறார்களே,’ என் வழிகள் நீதியற்றவைகளோ? இஸ்ரயேல் குடும்பத்தாரே, உங்கள் வழிகள் அல்லவோ நீதியற்றவை.

30 “ஆகையால், இஸ்ரயேல் குடும்பத்தாரே, நான் உங்கள் ஒவ்வொருவரையும் அவரவர் வழிகளுக்குத்தக்கபடி நியாயந்தீர்பேன் என்று ஆண்டவராகிய யெகோவா கூறுகிறார். மனந்திரும்புங்கள்! உங்கள் குற்றங்கள் எல்லாவற்றிலிருந்தும் திரும்புங்கள். அப்பொழுது பாவம் உங்கள் வீழ்ச்சிக்குக் காரணமாயிராது.
