எபேசியர் 5
1 ஆகவே நீங்கள் இறைவனுடைய அன்பான பிள்ளைகளாய் இருப்பதனால், இறைவனைப்போல் நடவுங்கள்.
Learn then to imitate God as his beloved children,
2 கிறிஸ்து நம்மில் அன்பாயிருந்ததினால், இறைவனுக்கு நறுமணமுள்ள காணிக்கையாயும், பலியாயும் நமக்காகத் தம்மைக் கொடுத்தார். அதுபோலவே நீங்களும் அன்புள்ள வாழ்க்கையை வாழுங்கள்.
and to lead lives of love, just as Christ also loved you and gave himself up for you, an offering and sacrifice unto God, for you, an offering and sacrifice unto God, for "an odor of sweetness."
3 உங்கள் மத்தியில் விபசாரம், பாலியல் ஒழுக்கக்கேடு, பேராசை ஆகிய எந்தவொரு அசுத்தமும் இருக்கக்கூடாது. இறைவனுடைய பரிசுத்த மக்களுக்கு இவை தகுதியற்றதானபடியால், இவற்றைப்பற்றினப் பேச்சே உங்களுக்குள் அடிபடக்கூடாது.
As for sexual vice and every kind of impurity or lust, it is unbecoming for you as Christians even to mention them;
4 அவ்வாறே வெட்கமான செயலும், மூடத்தனமான பேச்சுகளும், கீழ்த்தரமான பரியாசங்களும் உங்களுக்கு ஏற்றதல்ல. இறைவனுக்கு நன்றி செலுத்துவதே உங்களுக்குத் தகுதியானது.
so too with vulgarity and buffoonery and foolish jesting. Such words become you not, but rather thanksgiving.
5 ஒழுக்கக்கேடாய் நடக்கிறவனோ, தூய்மையற்றவனோ, இறைவன் அல்லாதவைகளை வணங்குகிறவனுக்கு ஒப்பான பேராசைக்காரனோ, கிறிஸ்துவுக்கும் இறைவனுக்கும் உரிய அரசில் எவ்வித உரிமைப்பங்கும் பெறுவதில்லை. இதை நிச்சயமாய் அறிந்துகொள்ளுங்கள்.
For be well assured that no one guilty of fornication or impurity or covetousness which is idolatry, has any heritage in the kingdom of Christ and of God.
6 வீணான வார்த்தைகளினால் ஒருவரும் உங்களை ஏமாற்ற இடமளிக்காதீர்கள். இப்படிப்பட்டவற்றின் நிமித்தமே இறைவனுடைய கோபம், அவருக்குக் கீழ்ப்படியாதவர்கள்மேல் வருகிறது,
Let no man deceive you with empty arguments, for it is these vices that bring down the wrath of God upon the sons of disobedience;
7 எனவே இப்படிப்பட்டவர்களோடு பங்காளர்களாய் இருக்கவேண்டாம்.
therefore do not become sharers with them.
8 ஏனெனில் ஒருகாலத்தில் நீங்கள் இருளாய் இருந்தீர்கள். ஆனால் இப்பொழுதோ, கர்த்தரில் வெளிச்சமாய் இருக்கிறீர்கள். எனவே, நீங்கள் வெளிச்சத்தின் பிள்ளைகளாக வாழுங்கள்.
For you were once darkness, but are now in the Lord.
9 வெளிச்சத்தின் கனியோ, எல்லா நன்மைகளையும், நீதியையும், உண்மையையும் கொண்டிருக்கிறது.
Lead the life of children of light, for the fruit of the light consists in every kind of goodness and uprightness and truth.
10 எனவே கர்த்தருக்கு மகிழ்ச்சி கொடுக்கக்கூடியது எது என்று அறிந்துகொள்ளுங்கள்.
Examine carefully what is well pleasing to the Lord,
11 இருளுக்குரிய பயனற்ற செயல்களில் பங்காளர்களாய் இருக்கவேண்டாம். அவைகளை வெளியரங்கமாக்குங்கள்.
and have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of the darkness, but rather expose them.
12 ஏனெனில், கீழ்ப்படியாதவர்கள் இரகசியமாக செய்கின்ற காரியங்களைக் குறித்துப் பேசுவதுகூட வெட்கத்துக்குரியதாய் இருக்கிறது.
For it is a shame even to speak of the things that are done by such men in secret;
13 எல்லாக் காரியங்களும் வெளிச்சத்தினால் வெளிப்படுத்தப்படும்போது, மறைந்திருந்தவைகள் தெரியவருகின்றன. ஏனெனில், வெளிச்சமே எல்லாவற்றையும் தெளிவாய் வெளிப்படுத்துகிறது.
but all these things, when exposed, are by the light made manifest, and what is made manifest is light.
14 அதனால்தான் இப்படி சொல்லப்பட்டுள்ளது: “நித்திரை செய்பவனே விழித்தெழு, இறந்தவர்களை விட்டு உயிர்த்தெழு, கிறிஸ்து உன்மேல் பிரகாசிப்பார்.”
For this reason it is said, "Awake, thou sleeper! Arise from the dead; And Christ shall shine upon thee!"
15 எனவே நீங்கள் எப்படி வாழ்கிறீர்கள் என்பதைக்குறித்து கவனமாயிருங்கள். ஞானமற்றவர்களைப்போல் வாழவேண்டாம், ஞானமுள்ளவர்களாய் வாழுங்கள்.
See to it, then, that you carry on your life carefully; not as foolish, but as wise men.
16 நாட்கள் தீயதாய் இருப்பதனால், கிடைக்கும் எல்லாச் சந்தர்ப்பங்களையும் நன்றாகப் பயன்படுத்திக்கொள்ளுங்கள்.
Buy up opportunity, for the times are evil.
17 மூடத்தனம் உள்ளவர்களாய் இருக்கவேண்டாம். கர்த்தரின் சித்தம் என்ன என்பதை புரிந்துகொள்ளுங்கள்.
For this reason do not be thoughtless, but learn to know what the Lord’s will is.
18 மதுபானம் குடித்து வெறிகொள்ளவேண்டாம். அது சீர்கேட்டிற்கே வழிநடத்தும். மாறாக பரிசுத்த ஆவியானவரால் நிரப்பப்பட்டு,
Do not be drunk with wine, in which is riotous living, but drink deep in the Spirit,
19 சங்கீதங்களினாலும், கீர்த்தனைகளினாலும், ஆவிக்குரிய பாடல்களினாலும் ஒருவரோடொருவர் பேசி, உங்கள் உள்ளத்திலே இசைபாடி கர்த்தரைப் போற்றுங்கள்.
when you talk together; with psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and with all your hearts making music unto the Lord;
20 எப்பொழுதும், எல்லாவற்றிற்காகவும் நமது கர்த்தராகிய இயேசுகிறிஸ்துவின் பெயரில், பிதாவாகிய இறைவனுக்கு நன்றி செலுத்துங்கள்.
and at all times for all things give thanks to God, the Father, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.
21 கிறிஸ்துவில் உங்களுக்கிருக்கும் பயபக்தியின் நிமித்தம், ஒருவருக்கொருவர் பணிந்திருங்கள்.
Submit yourselves one to another out of reverence for Christ.
22 மனைவிகளே, நீங்கள் கர்த்தருக்குப் பணிந்து நடப்பதுபோல, உங்கள் கணவருக்கு பணிந்து நடவுங்கள்.
Wives likewise to their husbands as to the Lord,
23 ஏனெனில் கிறிஸ்து தமது உடலாகிய திருச்சபையின் தலைவராய் இருப்பதுபோல, கணவன் தனது மனைவியின் தலைவனாய் இருக்கிறான். கிறிஸ்துவே தமது திருச்சபையின் இரட்சகராக இருக்கிறார்.
because a husband is the head of his wife even as Christ is head of the church, his body, which he saves.
24 அப்படியே திருச்சபையானது கிறிஸ்துவுக்குப் பணிந்து நடப்பதுபோல, மனைவிகளும் தங்கள் கணவர்களுக்கு எல்லாவற்றிலும் பணிந்திருக்கவேண்டும்.
But as the church submits itself to Christ, so also wives to their husbands in everything.
25 கணவர்களே, கிறிஸ்து திருச்சபையில் அன்புகூர்ந்து, அதற்காகத் தம்மை ஒப்புக்கொடுத்தது போலவே, நீங்களும் மனைவியிடம் அன்பாய் இருங்கள்.
Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself for her,
26 கிறிஸ்து வார்த்தையின் மூலம் தண்ணீரினால் திருச்சபையைச் சுத்திகரித்து பரிசுத்தமாக்கும்படியும்,
in order that after cleansing her in the bath of baptism, he might sanctify her by his word,
27 மகிமையுள்ள திருச்சபை எவ்வித மாசும், மறுவும், வேறு எவ்வித குறைபாடும் அற்றதாகவும், பரிசுத்தமுள்ளவர்களாயும், குற்றமற்றவர்களாயும் தம்முன் நிறுத்திக்கொள்ளும்படியே கிறிஸ்து தம்மை ஒப்புக்கொடுத்தார்.
so as to present her to himself, the church glorified, without spot or wrinkle or any such blemish; but on the contrary holy and faultless.
28 இவ்விதமாகவே கணவர்களும் தங்கள் மனைவிகளில், தங்கள் சொந்த உடல்களைப்போல் அன்பு செலுத்தவேண்டும். தன் மனைவியில் அன்பாயிருக்கிறவன் தன்னிலேயே அன்பாயிருக்கிறான்.
That is how husbands ought to love their wives, as they love their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself.
29 ஒருவனும் தன் சொந்த உடலை ஒருபோதும் வெறுத்ததில்லை. மாறாக, தனது உடலுக்கு வேண்டியதைக் கொடுத்து அதைப் பராமரிக்கிறான். இதுபோலவே, கிறிஸ்துவும் தமது திருச்சபையைப் பராமரிக்கிறார்.
For no man ever yet hated his own flesh, but nourishes and cherishes it as Christ does the church;
30 நாமும் கிறிஸ்துவிடைய உடலின் அங்கங்களாய் இருக்கிறோமே.
for we are members of his body.
31 இந்தக் காரணத்தினால் ஒருவன் தன் தகப்பனையும் தாயையும் விட்டு, தனது மனைவியுடன் இணைந்திருப்பான்; இருவரும் ஒரே உடலாயிருப்பார்கள்
For this cause shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife, and they two shall be one flesh.
32 இது ஒரு மிக ஆழ்ந்த இரகசியம். ஆனால் நானோ கிறிஸ்துவையும், திருச்சபையையும் பற்றிப் பேசுகிறேன்.
There is a deep mystery here - I am speaking of Christ and his church.
33 ஆனால் நீங்கள் ஒவ்வொருவனும், தன்னில் தான் அன்பாயிருப்பது போலவே, தன் மனைவியிலும் அன்பாயிருக்கவேண்டும். ஒவ்வொரு மனைவியும் தன் கணவனை மதித்து நடக்கவேண்டும்.
But as for you individually, you must each one of you love his own wife exactly as if she were yourself; and the wife, on her part, should reverence her husband.
