உபாகமம் 6

1 யோர்தானைக் கடந்து நீங்கள் உரிமையாக்கிக்கொள்ளும் நாட்டில் நீங்கள் கைக்கொள்ளவேண்டிய கட்டளைகளும், விதிமுறைகளும், சட்டங்களும் இவையே. இவற்றை உங்களுக்குப் போதிக்கும்படி உங்கள் இறைவனாகிய யெகோவா என்னை நியமித்திருக்கிறார்.

These are the commandments and rules and regulations that the Lord your God has ordered me to teach you to follow in the country that you're going to enter and occupy.

2 நான் உங்களுக்குக், கொடுக்கிற அவருடைய இந்த விதிமுறைகளையும் கட்டளைகளையும் நீங்கள் கைக்கொண்டால், நீங்களும் உங்கள் பிள்ளைகளும் அவர்களுக்குப்பின் அவர்களின் பிள்ளைகளும் வாழும் காலமெல்லாம் உங்கள் இறைவனாகிய யெகோவாவுக்குப் பயந்து நடப்பீர்கள். நீங்கள் நீடித்த வாழ்வையும் அனுபவிப்பீர்கள்.

This is so you and your children and grandchildren will show respect to the Lord your God throughout your lives by keeping all his rules and regulations that I give you, and so that you may have a long life.

3 இஸ்ரயேலே, கேளுங்கள், கீழ்ப்படியக் கவனமாயிருங்கள். கீழ்ப்படிந்தால் நீங்கள் நலமாயிருப்பீர்கள்; பாலும் தேனும் வழிந்தோடுகிற நாட்டில், உங்கள் முற்பிதாக்களின் இறைவனாகிய யெகோவா உங்களுக்கு வாக்குக்கொடுத்தபடியே மிகுதியாய்ப் பெருகுவீர்கள்.

Listen, people of Israel, and be careful to observe them, so that you may do well and have many descendants in a land flowing with milk and honey, just as the Lord, the God of your forefathers, promised you.

4 இஸ்ரயேலே கேள்: யெகோவாவே நம்முடைய இறைவன், அவர் ஒருவர் மட்டுமே யெகோவா.

Listen, people of Israel, The Lord our God, the Lord is the only one.

5 உன் இறைவனாகிய யெகோவாவிடத்தில் உன் முழு இருதயத்தோடும், உன் முழு ஆத்துமாவோடும், உன் முழுப் பெலத்தோடும் அன்பு செலுத்து.

You shall love the Lord your God with all your mind and with all your being and with all your strength.

6 இன்று நான் உங்களுக்குக் கொடுக்கும் கட்டளைகள் உங்கள் இருதயத்தில் இருக்கவேண்டும்.

The commands I'm giving you today must stay in your minds.

7 அவற்றை உங்கள் பிள்ளைகளின் மனதில் பதியச்செய்யவேண்டும். நீங்கள் வீட்டில் இருக்கும்போதும், வெளியே தெருவில் போகும்போதும், படுத்திருக்கும்போதும், எழுந்திருக்கும்போதும் அவற்றைக்குறித்துப் பேசிக்கொண்டிருங்கள்.

You are to explain them carefully to your children and talk about them when you're at home and when you're traveling, when you lie down and when you get up.

8 அவற்றை உங்கள் கைகளிலும், நெற்றிகளிலும் அடையாளச் சின்னங்களாகக் கட்டிக்கொள்ளுங்கள்.

Tie them on your hands as reminders and put them on your foreheads as well.

9 அவைகளை உங்கள் வீட்டுக் கதவு நிலைகளிலும், உங்கள் வாசல்களிலும் எழுதிவையுங்கள்.

Write them on the doorposts of your homes and on your gates.

10 உங்கள் இறைவனாகிய யெகோவா ஆபிரகாம், ஈசாக்கு, யாக்கோபு ஆகிய உங்கள் முற்பிதாக்களுக்கு ஆணையிட்ட அந்த நாட்டை உங்களுக்குக் கொடுப்பதற்கு, உங்களை அங்கு கொண்டுவருவார். அந்த நாட்டில் நீங்கள் கட்டாத விசாலமான, செழிப்பான பட்டணங்கள் இருக்கின்றன.

The Lord your God is going to take you into the country he promised to give you and your forefathers, Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. It's a country with large, prosperous towns that you didn't build,

11 நீங்கள் சேகரிக்காத பல வகையான நல்ல பொருட்களால் நிறைந்த வீடுகளும், நீங்கள் வெட்டாத கிணறுகளும், நீங்கள் நடாத திராட்சைத் தோட்டங்களும் ஒலிவத்தோப்புகளும் இருக்கின்றன. நீங்கள் அங்கு சாப்பிட்டுத் திருப்தியடைவீர்கள்.

with houses full of plenty of good things that you didn't provide, that have wells you didn't dig, and vineyards and olive groves that you did not plant. When you eat and are full

12 அப்பொழுது நீங்கள் உங்களை அடிமைத்தன நாடான எகிப்திலிருந்து வெளியே கொண்டுவந்த உங்கள் இறைவனாகிய யெகோவாவை மறக்காதபடி எச்சரிக்கையாய் இருங்கள்.

make sure you don't forget the Lord who led you out of Egypt, out of the prison-house of slavery.

13 உங்கள் இறைவனாகிய யெகோவாவுக்குப் பயந்து நடந்து, அவர் ஒருவரையே பணிந்துகொள். அவருடைய பெயரைக்கொண்டு மட்டுமே சத்தியம் செய்யுங்கள்.

Respect the Lord your God only worship him, and only make promises in his name.

14 உங்களைச் சுற்றியிருக்கிற மக்களின் தெய்வங்களாகிய வேறு தெய்வங்களைப் பின்பற்றவேண்டாம்.

Don't worship any other gods, the gods of the peoples around you,

15 ஏனெனில் உங்கள் மத்தியிலே இருக்கிற உங்கள் இறைவனாகிய யெகோவா, தமக்குரிய வழிபாட்டைக் குறித்து வைராக்கியமுள்ள இறைவனாயிருக்கிறார். அவருடைய கோபம் உங்களுக்கு விரோதமாக எரியும்போது, பூமியிலே இராமல் அவர் உங்களை அழித்துப்போடுவார்.

because the Lord your God, who lives among you, is an exclusive God, and Lord your God will become angry with you, and he will wipe you out.

16 நீங்கள் மாசாவிலே செய்ததுபோல, உங்கள் இறைவனாகிய யெகோவாவைச் சோதிக்க வேண்டாம்.

Don't test the Lord your God like you did at Massah.

17 உங்கள் இறைவனாகிய யெகோவாவினுடைய கட்டளைகளையும், அவர் உங்களுக்குக் கொடுத்த ஒழுங்குவிதிகளையும், விதுமுறைகளையும் கைக்கொள்ளக் கவனமாய் இருங்கள்.

You must be careful to keep the commandments of the Lord your God and the laws and rules he's given you.

18 யெகோவாவினுடைய பார்வையில் சரியானதையும் நலமானதையும் செய்யுங்கள். அப்பொழுது நீங்கள் நலமாய் இருப்பீர்கள். நீங்கள் யெகோவா உங்கள் முற்பிதாக்களுக்கு ஆணையிட்டு, வாக்குப்பண்ணிய அந்த நல்ல நாட்டிற்குள்போய், அதை உரிமையாக்கிக்கொள்வீர்கள்.

Do what's good and right in the Lord's sight so that it will go well for you and that you may enter and take over the good land that the Lord your God promised to give your forefathers,

19 அப்பொழுது யெகோவா சொன்னதுபோலவே உங்களுக்கு முன்பாக உங்கள் பகைவர்களைத் துரத்திவிடுவார்.

He will drive out all your enemies ahead of you, just as he said.

20 வருங்காலத்திலே உன்னுடைய மகன் உன்னிடம், “நம்முடைய இறைவனாகிய யெகோவா உங்களுக்குக் கட்டளையிட்டிருக்கிற இந்த ஒழுங்குவிதிகள், விதிமுறைகள், சட்டங்கள், இவைகளின் கருத்து என்ன?” என்று கேட்டால்,

In the future, when your children come and ask you, “What's the point of decrees and rules and regulations that the Lord our God ordered you to follow?”

21 நீ அவனிடம் சொல்லவேண்டியதாவது: “நாங்கள் எகிப்திலே பார்வோனுடைய அடிமைகளாயிருந்தோம். ஆனால் யெகோவா எங்களைத் தமது வலிய கரத்தினால் எகிப்திலிருந்து வெளியே கொண்டுவந்தார்.

then you are to tell them, “Once we were slaves of Pharaoh in Egypt, but the Lord by his power led us out of Egypt.

22 மேலும், பெரிதும் பயங்கரமுமான, அற்புத அடையாளங்களையும், அதிசயங்களையும் எகிப்தின்மேலும், பார்வோனின்மேலும், அவன் குடும்பத்திலுள்ள யாவர்மேலும் யெகோவா எங்கள் கண்களுக்கு முன்பாகவே அனுப்பினார்.

Before our very eyes the Lord brought down incredible and terrifying signs and miracles on Egypt, on Pharaoh, and on all his people.

23 ஆனால், இறைவன் நம்முடைய முற்பிதாக்களுக்கு ஆணையிட்டு வாக்குக்கொடுத்த நாட்டை நமக்குக் கொடுப்பதற்காக, எங்களை எகிப்திலிருந்து புறப்படச் செய்தார்.

But he led us out of there to take us here, giving us this country that he had promised to our forefathers.

24 இந்த விதிமுறைகளுக்கெல்லாம் கீழ்ப்படிந்து நமது இறைவனாகிய யெகோவாவுக்குப் பயந்து நடக்கும்படி யெகோவா நமக்குக் கட்டளையிட்டிருக்கிறார். அப்பொழுது நாம் இன்று இருப்பதுபோலவே என்றும் செழிப்புற்று, உயிருடன் காக்கப்படுவோம்.

The Lord ordered us to keep all these laws and to respect the Lord our God, so that we would always be safe and well, as we are today

25 எங்கள் இறைவனாகிய யெகோவா, நமக்குக் கட்டளையிட்டபடியே அவருக்கு முன்பாக இந்த சட்டம் எல்லாவற்றிற்கும் கீழ்ப்படிய கவனமாயிருந்தால் அதுவே நமக்கு நீதியாய் இருக்கும்.”

And if we carefully observe each of these commandments as we live in the presence of the Lord, as he instructed us, then we will be right with him.”
