உபாகமம் 24

1 ஒரு மனிதன் ஒரு பெண்ணைத் திருமணம் செய்தபின்பு, அவளில் ஏதாவது வெட்கக்கேடான செயலைக் காண்பதினால் அவள் அவனுடைய வெறுப்புக்குரியவளாகினால், அவன் விவாகரத்துப் பத்திரம் எழுதி அதை அவளிடம் கொடுத்து, தன் வீட்டிலிருந்து அவளை அனுப்பிவிடலாம்.

When a man hath taken a wife, and married her, and it shall come to pass that she findeth no favor in his eyes, because he hath found some uncleanness in her: then let him write her a bill of divorcement, and give [it] in her hand, and send her out of his house.

2 அவள் அவனுடைய வீட்டைவிட்டு வெளியேறிய பின், வேறொருவனுக்கு மனைவியாகலாம்,

And when she hath departed from his house, she may go and be another man's [wife].

3 அவளது இரண்டாவது கணவனும் அவளை வெறுத்து, விவாகரத்துப் பத்திரம் எழுதி, அதை அவளுக்குக் கொடுத்து அவளைத் தன் வீட்டிலிருந்து அனுப்பினால் அல்லது அவன் இறந்தால்,

And [if] the latter husband shall hate her, and write her a bill of divorcement, and give [it] in her hand, and send her out of his house; or if the latter husband shall die, who took her [to be] his wife;

4 அவளை விவாகரத்துப்பண்ணிய அவளது முதற் கணவன் அவளை மறுபடியும் திருமணம் செய்ய அனுமதிக்கப்படமாட்டான். ஏனெனில், அவள் கறைப்பட்டிருக்கிறாள். அது யெகோவாவினுடைய பார்வையில் அருவருப்பானது. ஆகவே அப்படிச் செய்து, உங்கள் இறைவனாகிய யெகோவா உங்களுக்கு உரிமைச்சொத்தாகக் கொடுக்கும் நாட்டின்மேல் பாவத்தைச் சுமத்தவேண்டாம்.

Her former husband who sent her away, may not take her again to be his wife, after that she is defiled; for that [is] abomination before the LORD: and thou shalt not cause the land to sin, which the LORD thy God giveth thee [for] an inheritance.

5 ஒருவன் ஒரு பெண்ணைச் சமீபத்தில் திருமணம் செய்திருந்தால், அவன் போருக்கு அனுப்பப்படக்கூடாது. அவன்மேல் வேறு எந்த வேலையையும் சுமத்தவும்கூடாது. அவன் ஒரு வருடகாலம் தன் வீட்டில், தான் திருமணம் செய்த மனைவியை மகிழ்விக்க சுதந்திரம் உடையவனாய் இருக்கவேண்டும்.

When a man hath newly taken a wife, he shall not go out to war, neither shall he be charged with any business: [but] he shall be free at home one year, and shall cheer his wife which he hath taken.

6 திரிகைக்கல்லை கடனுக்கான அடைமானமாக வாங்கக்கூடாது. மேற்கல்லைக்கூட வாங்கக்கூடாது. ஏனெனில் அப்படி நீங்கள் செய்வது அந்த மனிதனின் வாழ்க்கைக்கான பிழைப்பையே பறிப்பதுபோலிருக்கும்.

No man shall take the nether or the upper millstone for a pledge: for he taketh [a man's] life for a pledge.

7 யாராவது ஒருவன் இஸ்ரயேலில் சகோதரன் ஒருவனைக் கடத்திச்சென்று, அவனை அடிமையாக நடத்துவது அல்லது அவன் விற்கப்படுவது கண்டுபிடிக்கப்பட்டால், கடத்தியவன் சாகவேண்டும். இவ்விதமாய் தீமையை உங்கள் மத்தியிலிருந்து அகற்றவேண்டும்.

If a man shall be found stealing any of his brethren of the children of Israel, and shall make merchandise of him, or sell him; then that thief shall die; and thou shalt remove evil from among you.

8 தோல்வியாதியைக் குறித்து லேவியரான ஆசாரியர்கள் உங்களுக்கு அறிவுறுத்துகிறபடியே சரியாகச்செய்யக் கவனமாயிருங்கள். நான் அவர்களுக்குக் கட்டளையிட்டதைக் கவனமாய்ப் பின்பற்றுங்கள்.

Take heed in the plague of leprosy, that thou observe diligently, and do according to all that the priests the Levites shall teach you: as I commanded them, [so] ye shall observe to do.

9 நீங்கள் எகிப்திலிருந்து வெளியே வந்தபின் வழியில் உங்கள் இறைவனாகிய யெகோவா மிரியாமுக்குச் செய்ததை நினைவுகூருங்கள்.

Remember what the LORD thy God did to Miriam by the way, after that ye come forth from Egypt.

10 நீங்கள் உங்கள் அயலானுக்கு எந்த விதமான கடனையும் கொடுக்கும்போது, அவன் அடகுப்பொருளாகக் கொடுப்பதை எடுக்கும்படி அவனுடைய வீட்டின் உள்ளே போகவேண்டாம்.

When thou dost lend thy brother any thing, thou shalt not go into his house to take his pledge:

11 நீங்கள் அவன் வீட்டின் வெளியே நில்லுங்கள். நீங்கள் கடன்கொடுக்கும் மனிதனே அந்த அடகுப்பொருளை வெளியே உங்களிடம் கொண்டுவரட்டும்.

Thou shalt stand abroad, and the man to whom thou dost lend shall bring out the pledge abroad to thee:

12 ஒருவன் ஏழையாயிருந்து தனது மேலுடையை அடகாகத் தந்திருந்தால், நீங்கள் அதை வைத்துக்கொண்டு படுக்கைக்குப் போகவேண்டாம்.

And if the man [is] poor, thou shalt not sleep with his pledge:

13 சூரியன் மறையும்போதே அவனுடைய மேலுடையை திருப்பிக் கொடுத்துவிடுங்கள். அவன் தன் அங்கியைப் போட்டுக்கொண்டு படுக்கட்டும். அப்பொழுது அவன் உனக்கு நன்றி செலுத்துவான். அது உங்கள் இறைவனாகிய யெகோவாவின் பார்வையில் நியாயமான செயலாகக் காணப்படும்.

In any case thou shalt deliver to him the pledge again when the sun goeth down, that he may sleep in his own raiment, and bless thee; and it shall be righteousness to thee before the LORD thy God.

14 உங்கள் பட்டணங்களில் வாழும் உங்கள் சகோதர இஸ்ரயேலனோ அல்லது அந்நியனோ யாராயிருந்தாலும் அவன் ஏழையும், வறியவனுமான ஒரு கூலிக்காரனாய் இருந்தால், உங்கள் சுயநலத்திற்காகச் சுரண்டிப்பிழைக்க வேண்டாம்.

Thou shalt not oppress a hired servant [that is] poor and needy, [whether he is] of thy brethren, or of thy strangers that [are] in thy land within thy gates:

15 அவனுடைய கூலியை ஒவ்வொரு நாளும் பொழுதுபடுமுன் கொடுத்துவிடுங்கள். அவன் ஏழையாய் இருப்பதால் அதையே நம்பியிருக்கிறான். இல்லையெனில் அவன் யெகோவாவிடம் உங்களுக்கெதிராக முறையிட நீங்கள் பாவம் செய்த குற்றவாளிகளாவீர்கள்.

At his day thou shalt give [him] his hire, neither shall the sun go down upon it, for he [is] poor, and setteth his heart upon it: lest he should cry against thee to the LORD, and it be sin to thee.

16 பிள்ளைகளுடைய பாவங்களுக்காக பெற்றோரோ, பெற்றோரின் பாவங்களுக்காக பிள்ளைகளோ கொல்லப்படக்கூடாது; ஒவ்வொருவரும் தனது சொந்தப் பாவங்களுக்காகவே கொல்லப்படவேண்டும்.

The fathers shall not be put to death for the children, neither shall the children be put to death for the fathers: every man shall be put to death for his own sin.

17 அந்நியருக்காவது, தந்தையற்றவர்களுக்காவது அநீதி செய்யவேண்டாம், விதவையின் மேலுடையை அடகாக வாங்கவேண்டாம்.

Thou shalt not pervert the judgment of the stranger, [nor] of the fatherless, nor take a widow's raiment for a pledge:

18 நீங்கள் எகிப்தில் அடிமைகளாய் இருந்தீர்கள் என்றும், உங்கள் இறைவனாகிய யெகோவாவே அங்கிருந்து உங்களை மீட்டாரென்றும் நினைவிற்கொள்ளுங்கள். அதனால்தான் இதைச் செய்யும்படி நான் உங்களுக்குக் கட்டளையிடுகிறேன்.

But thou shalt remember that thou wast a bond-man in Egypt, and the LORD thy God redeemed thee thence: therefore I command thee to do this thing.

19 உங்களுடைய வயலில் நீங்கள் அறுவடை செய்யும்போது, ஒரு கதிர்க்கட்டை தவறுதலாக விட்டுவிட்டால், அதை எடுப்பதற்குத் திரும்பிப் போகவேண்டாம். அதை அந்நியர்களுக்கும், தந்தையற்றவர்களுக்கும், விதவைகளுக்கும் விட்டுவிடுங்கள். அப்பொழுது உங்கள் இறைவனாகிய யெகோவா உங்கள் கைகளின் வேலைகளையெல்லாம் ஆசீர்வதிப்பார்.

When thou cuttest down thy harvest in thy field, and hast forgot a sheaf in the field, thou shalt not go again to fetch it: it shall be for the stranger, for the fatherless, and for the widow: that the LORD thy God may bless thee in all the work of thy hands.

20 ஒலிவப்பழங்களைப் பறிப்பதற்காக நீங்கள் உங்கள் மரங்களை உலுக்கிய பின்பு, இரண்டாம் முறையும் பழங்களைப் பறிப்பதற்காக கிளைகளில் தேடவேண்டாம். அதில் மீதியாய் உள்ளவற்றை அந்நியர்களுக்கும், தந்தையற்றவர்களுக்கும், விதவைகளுக்கும் விட்டுவிடுங்கள்.

When thou beatest thy olive-tree, thou shalt not go over the boughs again: it shall be for the stranger, for the fatherless, and for the widow.

21 உங்கள் திராட்சைத் தோட்டத்தில் பழங்களை அறுவடை செய்தபின், திரும்பவும் திராட்சைக்கொடிகளில் பழங்களைத் தேடிப்போகவேண்டாம். மீந்திருப்பவைகளை அந்நியர்களுக்கும், தந்தையற்றவர்களுக்கும், விதவைகளுக்கும் விட்டுவிடுங்கள்.

When thou gatherest the grapes of thy vineyard, thou shalt not glean [it] afterward: it shall be for the stranger, for the fatherless, and for the widow.

22 எகிப்து நாட்டில் நீங்கள் அடிமைகளாயிருந்தீர்கள் என்பதை நினைவிற்கொள்ளுங்கள். அதனால்தான் இதைச் செய்யும்படி நான் உங்களுக்குக் கட்டளையிடுகிறேன்.

And thou shalt remember that thou wast a bond-man in the land of Egypt: therefore I command thee to do this thing.
