உபாகமம் 23

1 விதைகள் நசுக்கப்பட்டதினாலோ, ஆணுறுப்பு வெட்டப்பட்டதினாலோ ஆண்மையிழந்தவன் எவனும் யெகோவாவின் சபைக்குள் வரக்கூடாது.

He that is wounded in the testicles, or hath his privy member cut, shall not enter into the congregation of the Lord.

2 முறைகேடான உறவினால் பிறந்தவனும், அவன் சந்ததியும் பத்தாம் தலைமுறைவரை யெகோவாவின் சபைக்குள் வரக்கூடாது.

One born from prohibited connections shall not enter into the congregation of the Lord; even the tenth generation of him shall not enter into the congregation of the Lord.

3 அம்மோனியராவது மோவாபியராவது பத்தாம் தலைமுறைவரைக்கும் உள்ள அவர்களுடைய சந்ததிகளாவது யெகோவாவின், சபைக்குள் வரக்கூடாது.

An 'Ammonite and a Moabite shall not enter into the congregation of the Lord; even the tenth generation of him shall not enter into the congregation of the Lord, for ever;

4 ஏனெனில், நீங்கள் எகிப்திலிருந்து புறப்பட்டு வரும்பொழுது, அவர்கள் வழியிலே உங்களைச் சந்திக்க உணவுடனும், தண்ணீருடனும் வரவில்லை. அவர்கள் மெசொப்பொத்தோமியாவிலுள்ள பெத்தோரிலிருந்த பேயோரின் மகன் பிலேயாமை, உங்கள்மேல் சாபம் கூறும்படி கூலிக்கு அமர்த்தினார்கள்.

For the reason, that they met you not with bread and with water on the way, when ye came forth out of Egypt; and because he hired against thee Bil'am the son of Beor of Pethor in Mesopotamia, to curse thee;

5 ஆனாலும், உங்களுடைய இறைவனாகிய யெகோவா பிலேயாமுக்கும செவிசாய்க்கவில்லை. உங்கள் இறைவனாகிய யெகோவா உங்கள்மேல் அன்பு கூர்ந்ததினால், அவனுடைய சாபத்தை உங்களுக்கு ஆசீர்வாதமாக மாற்றினார்.

But the Lord thy God would not hearken unto Bil'am; and the Lord thy God changed unto thee the curse into a blessing, because the Lord thy God loved thee.

6 ஆகையால் நீங்கள் உங்கள் வாழ்நாள் முழுவதும் அவர்களுடன் நட்புறவு உடன்படிக்கையை செய்துகொள்ள வேண்டாம்.

Thou shalt not seek their peace and their welfare all thy days, for ever.

7 ஏதோமியனை வெறுக்காதீர்கள், அவன் உங்கள் சகோதரன். எகிப்தியனை வெறுக்காதீர்கள். அவனுடைய நாட்டில் நீங்கள் அந்நியராய் இருந்தீர்கள்.

Thou shalt not abhor an Edomite; for he is thy brother; thou shalt not abhor an Egyptian; because thou wast a stranger in his land.

8 எகிப்தியரின் பிள்ளைகளின் மூன்றாம் தலைமுறையினர் யெகோவாவின் சபைக்குள் வரலாம்.

The children that are born unto them in the third generation, may enter of them into the congregation of the Lord.

9 நீங்கள் உங்கள் பகைவர்களுக்கு எதிராக முகாமிட்டிருக்கும்பொழுது அசுத்தமான எல்லாவற்றிலுமிருந்து விலகியிருங்கள்.

When thou goest forth into camp against thy enemies, then keep thyself from every evil thing.

10 இராக்காலத்தில் விந்து வெளிப்படுவதினால், உங்கள் மத்தியில் ஒருவன் அசுத்தப்பட்டிருந்தால், அவன் முகாமுக்கு வெளியே போய் அங்கே இருக்கவேண்டும்.

If there be among thee any man, that is not clean by reason of an occurrence by night; then shall he go abroad to without the camp, he shall not come within the camp;

11 ஆனால் மாலை நேரம் வந்ததும் அவன் குளித்து சூரியன் மறையும் நேரத்தில் முகாமுக்கு மீண்டும் வரலாம்.

But it shall be, that toward evening he shall bathe himself in water; and when the sun goeth down, he may come into the midst of the camp.

12 முகாமுக்கு வெளியே மலசலம் கழிப்பதற்கு உங்களுக்கு ஒரு இடத்தை வைத்திருக்கவேண்டும்.

And a place shalt thou have without the camp, whither thou shalt go forth abroad:

13 உங்கள் ஆயுதங்களுடன் ஒன்றாக மண் தோண்டுவதற்கு எதையாவது வைத்துக்கொள்ளுங்கள். நீங்கள் வெளியே போய் மலசலம் கழித்தபின் ஒரு குழியைத் தோண்டி மலத்தை மண்ணால் மூடிவிடுங்கள்.

And a spade shalt thou have with thy weapons: and it shall be, when thou sittest abroad, that thou shalt dig therewith, and shalt afterward cover that which cometh from thee;

14 ஏனெனில் உங்கள் இறைவனாகிய யெகோவா உங்களைப் பாதுகாக்கவும், உங்கள் பகைவர்களை உங்களிடம் ஒப்படைக்கவும், உங்கள் முகாமில் உலாவுகிறார். ஆகவே அவர் உங்கள் மத்தியில் வெட்கக்கேடான எதையும் கண்டு உங்களைவிட்டு விலகிக்போகாதபடி, நீங்கள் முகாமைப் பரிசுத்தமாக வைத்திருக்கவேண்டும்.

For the Lord thy God walketh in the midst of thy camp, to deliver thee and to give up thy enemies before thee; therefore shall thy camp be holy; that he see no unseemly thing in thee, and turn away from thee.

15 ஒரு அடிமை தப்பி ஓடிவந்து உன்னிடம் அடைக்கலம் புகுந்தால், அவனை அவனுடைய எஜமானிடம் பிடித்துக்கொடுக்க வேண்டாம்.

Thou shalt not deliver unto his master the servant who may escape unto thee from his master;

16 அவன் தான் தெரிந்துகொள்கிற பட்டணத்தில் தான் விரும்பிய எங்காவது உங்கள் மத்தியில் வாழட்டும். அவனை ஒடுக்கவேண்டாம்.

With thee shall he dwell, in the midst of thee, in the place which he may choose in any one of thy gates, where it seemeth best to him: thou shalt not oppress him.

17 இஸ்ரயேலில் ஒரு பெண்ணும் கோயில் வேசியாய் இருக்கக்கூடாது. ஒரு ஆணும் அப்படியிருக்கக் கூடாது.

There shall not be a prostitute of the daughters of Israel, and there shall not be a sodomite of the sons of Israel.

18 வேசித்தனம் பண்ணும் ஆணோ, வேசித்தனம் பண்ணும் பெண்ணோ தங்கள் வேசித்தனத்தினால் பெறும் வருமானத்தை, உங்கள் இறைவனாகிய யெகோவாவின் வீட்டுக்குள் எந்தவித நேர்த்திக்கடனை செலுத்தும்படிக்கும் கொண்டுவரக்கூடாது. ஏனெனில் உங்கள் இறைவனாகிய யெகோவா அவற்றை அருவருக்கிறார்.

Thou shalt not bring the hire of a harlot, or the price of a dog, into the house of the Lord thy God for any vow; for both of these are equally an abomination unto the Lord thy God.

19 நீங்கள் உங்கள் சகோதரனிடம் வட்டி வசூலிக்கக்கூடாது. வட்டிக்குக் கடனாகக் கொடுக்கக்கூடிய பணத்திற்கோ, உணவுப்பொருளுக்கோ, வேறு எதற்கோ வட்டி வசூலிக்கவேண்டாம்.

Thou shalt not take interest from thy brother, interest of money, interest of victuals, interest of any thing that is lent upon interest:

20 நீங்கள் அந்நியனிடம் வட்டிவாங்கலாம். ஆனால் உங்கள் சகோதர இஸ்ரயேலனிடம் வட்டி வசூலிக்கவேண்டாம். அப்படிச் செய்யும்போது, உங்கள் இறைவனாகிய யெகோவா நீங்கள் உரிமையாக்கிக்கொள்ளும்படி போகும் அந்நாட்டில், நீங்கள் கையிட்டுசெய்யும் எல்லாவற்றையும் ஆசீர்வதிப்பார்.

From an alien thou mayest take interest; but from thy brother thou shalt not take interest; in order that the Lord thy God may bless thee in all the acquisition of thy hand, in the land whither thou goest to possess it.

21 உங்கள் இறைவனாகிய யெகோவாவுக்கு நீங்கள் நேர்த்திக்கடன் செய்திருந்தால், நீங்கள் அதைச் செலுத்தத் தாமதிக்கவேண்டாம். உங்கள் இறைவனாகிய யெகோவா உங்களிடம் நிச்சயமாய் அதைக் கேட்பார். தாமதித்தால் நீங்கள் பாவம் செய்த குற்றவாளியாவீர்கள்.

When thou makest a vow unto the Lord thy God, thou shalt not delay to pay it; for the Lord thy God will surely require it of thee; and it would be sin in thee.

22 ஆகையினால் நீங்கள் நேர்த்திக்கடன் செய்வதைத் தவிர்த்துக்கொண்டால், நீங்கள் குற்றவாளிகளாகமாட்டீர்கள்.

But if thou forbear to vow, it shall be no sin in thee.

23 உங்கள் இறைவனாகிய யெகோவாவுக்கு வாயினால் சொல்லும் எதையும் செய்ய நீங்கள் கவனமாயிருக்க வேண்டும். ஏனெனில் உங்கள் சொந்த வாயினால் சுயவிருப்பத்துடன் உங்கள் நேர்த்திக்கடனை செய்தீர்கள்.

What is gone out of thy lips shalt thou keep and perform, as thou hast vowed unto the Lord thy God voluntarily, as thou hast spoken with thy mouth.

24 உங்கள் அயலானுடைய திராட்சைத் தோட்டத்திற்குள்போனால், விரும்பிய அளவு திராட்சைப் பழங்களை நீங்கள் சாப்பிடலாம். ஆனால் ஒன்றையும் உங்கள் கூடையில் எடுத்துக்கொண்டு போகவேண்டாம்.

When thou comest into thy neighbor's vineyard, thou mayest eat grapes at thy own pleasure, till thou have enough; but into thy vessel shalt thou not put any.

25 நீங்கள் உங்கள் அயலானுடைய வயலுக்குள்போனால் உங்கள் கையினால் கதிர்களைப் பறிக்கலாம், ஆனால் அவனுடைய தானியக் கதிர்களை அரிவாளினால் வெட்டவேண்டாம்.

When thou comest into the standing corn of thy neighbor, thou mayest pluck ears with thy hand; but a sickle shall thou not move over thy neighbor's standing corn.
