தானியேல் 6
1 அரசன் தரியு, தனது அரசை நல்லமுறையில் ஆளுகைசெய்ய விரும்பி, தனது அரசு எங்கும் நூற்றிருபது சிற்றரசர்களை நியமித்தான்.
Now it pleased Darius to appoint 120 satraps to rule throughout the kingdom,
2 அதோடு அவர்களுக்கு மேலாக மூன்று நிர்வாகிகளையும் நியமித்தான். அவர்களில் தானியேலும் ஒருவன். அரசனுக்கு நஷ்டம் ஏற்படாதவாறு இந்தச் சிற்றரசர்கள் நிர்வாகிகளுக்குக் கணக்கு ஒப்புவிக்க வேண்டியதாயிருந்தது.
and over them three administrators, including Daniel, to whom these satraps were accountable so that the king would not suffer loss.
3 தானியேலில் தனிச் சிறப்புவாய்ந்த பண்புகள் இருந்தன. ஆதலால் அவன் மற்ற நிர்வாகிகளையும், சிற்றரசர்களையும்விட சிறந்து விளங்கினான். இதனால் அரசன் தனது முழு அரசின்மேலும் அவனை பொறுப்பாய் நியமிக்கத் திட்டமிட்டான்.
Soon, by his extraordinary spirit, Daniel distinguished himself among the administrators and satraps. So the king planned to set him over the whole kingdom.
4 இதையறிந்த மற்றைய நிர்வாகிகளும், சிற்றரசர்களும், தானியேலின் அரசியல் விவகாரங்களில் தானியேலின் நடத்தைக்கு எதிராகக் குற்றம் சாட்டுவதற்கான காரணங்களைக் கண்டுபிடிக்க முயற்சித்தார்கள். ஆனால் அவர்களால் அப்படிச் செய்ய முடியவில்லை. அவன் நம்பிக்கைக்குரியவனும், ஊழலும் கடமையில் அலட்சியமும் இல்லாதவனுமாய் இருந்தபடியால், அவனில் எந்தவித குற்றத்தையும் அவர்களால் கண்டுபிடிக்க முடியவில்லை.
Thus the administrators and satraps sought a charge against Daniel concerning the kingdom, but they could find no charge or corruption, because he was trustworthy, and no negligence or corruption was found in him.
5 இறுதியாக அந்த மனிதர்கள், “தானியேலை வேறொன்றிலும் குற்றப்படுத்த முடியாது. அவனை அவனுடைய இறைவனது சட்டத்தைப்பற்றிய விஷயங்களில் மட்டுமே குற்றப்படுத்தலாம் என்றார்கள்.”
Finally these men said, “We will never find any charge against this Daniel, unless we find something against him concerning the law of his God.”
6 எனவே நிர்வாகிகளும், சிற்றரசர்களும் ஒரு குழுவாக அரசனிடம் சென்று, “தரியு அரசே, நீர் நீடூழி வாழ்க.
So the administrators and satraps went together to the king and said, “O King Darius, may you live forever!
7 அரச நிர்வாகிகள், நிர்வாக அதிகாரிகள், சிற்றரசர்கள், ஆலோசகர்கள், ஆளுநர்கள் ஆகிய நாங்கள் எல்லோரும், வரப்போகும் முப்பது நாட்களில் அரசராகிய உம்மைத்தவிர, வேறு தெய்வங்களிடமோ, மனிதரிடமோ ஒருவனும் மன்றாடக்கூடாது. அப்படி யாராவது செய்தால் அவன் சிங்கத்தின் குகையில் போடப்படுவதற்கு அரசர் ஒரு ஆணை பிறப்பித்து நடைமுறைப்படுத்த வேண்டுமென ஒன்றாய்த் தீர்மானித்திருக்கிறோம்.
All the royal administrators, prefects, satraps, advisers, and governors have agreed that the king should establish an ordinance and enforce a decree that for thirty days anyone who petitions any god or man except you, O king, will be thrown into the den of lions.
8 எனவே அரசே, இரத்துச் செய்யப்பட முடியாத மேதியர், பெரிசியரின் சட்டத்தின்படியே அதை மாற்ற முடியாததாய் எழுதிவையும் என்றார்கள்.”
Therefore, O king, establish the decree and sign the document so that it cannot be changed—in accordance with the law of the Medes and Persians, which cannot be repealed.”
9 அப்படியே தரியு அரசன் கட்டளையை எழுதிவைத்தான்.
Therefore King Darius signed the written decree.
10 இக்கட்டளை பகிரங்கமாய் அறிவிக்கப்பட்டதைத் தானியேல் அறிந்தபோது, அவன் தனது வீட்டிற்குப்போய் மேல் வீட்டறையில் எருசலேமின் பக்கமாயிருந்த ஜன்னல் அருகே போனான். அவன் தான் முன்பு செய்ததுபோலவே நாளொன்றுக்கு மூன்றுமுறை முழங்காற்படியிட்டு தன் இறைவனுக்கு நன்றி செலுத்தி மன்றாடினான்.
Now when Daniel learned that the document had been signed, he went into his house, where the windows of his upper room opened toward Jerusalem, and three times a day he got down on his knees, prayed, and gave thanks to his God, just as he had done before.
11 அப்பொழுது அந்த மனிதர்கள், குழுவாக அங்கு சென்றபோது தானியேல் தனது இறைவனிடம் உதவிகேட்டு மன்றாடிக்கொண்டிருப்பதைக் கண்டார்கள்.
Then these men went as a group and found Daniel petitioning and imploring his God.
12 அவர்கள் அரசனிடம் சென்று, அரச கட்டளையைப் பற்றிப்பேசி, “அரசே, முப்பது நாட்களுக்கு அரசனைத் தவிர வேறு தெய்வத்திடமோ, மனிதனிடமோ மன்றாடுபவன் எவனும் சிங்கத்தின் குகையில் போடப்படவேண்டும் என்று நீர் கட்டளை பிறப்பித்தீர் அல்லவா?” எனறு கூறினார்கள். அரசன் அவர்களிடம், “இரத்துச் செய்யமுடியாத மேதியர், பெரிசியரின் சட்டப்படி நான் பிறப்பித்த கட்டளை நிலையானது என்றான்.”
So they approached the king and asked about his royal decree: “Did you not sign a decree that for thirty days any man who petitions any god or man except you, O king, will be thrown into the den of lions?” The king replied, “According to the law of the Medes and Persians the order stands, and it cannot be repealed.”
13 அப்பொழுது அவர்கள் அரசனிடம், “யூதேயாவிலிருந்து சிறைப்பிடித்து வரப்பட்டவர்களில் ஒருவனான, தானியேல் என்பவன் உமக்கோ, நீர் எழுதிவைத்த கட்டளைக்கோ கவனம் செலுத்தாமல் இருக்கிறான். அவன் ஒரு நாளுக்கு மூன்று வேளையும் மன்றாடி வருகிறான் என்றார்கள்.”
Then they told the king, “Daniel, one of the exiles from Judah, shows no regard for you, O king, or for the decree that you have signed. He still makes his petition three times a day.”
14 இதைக் கேட்ட அரசன் மிகவும் மனம் வருந்தினான். அவன் தானியேலைக் காப்பாற்ற உறுதிகொண்டு, மாலைவரை முழு முயற்சி செய்தான்.
As soon as the king heard this, he was deeply distressed and set his mind on delivering Daniel, and he labored until sundown to rescue him.
15 அப்பொழுது அந்த மனிதர் குழுவாக அரசனிடம் சென்று, “அரசே; மேதியர், பெரிசியரின் சட்டத்தின்படி, அரசர் பிறப்பிக்கும் எந்த ஒரு கட்டளையும், ஆணையும் மாற்றப்படமுடியாது என்பதை நினைவில்கொள்ளும் என்றார்கள்.”
Then the men approached the king together and said to him, “Remember, O king, that by the law of the Medes and Persians no decree or ordinance established by the king can be changed.”
16 எனவே அரசன் உத்தரவிட, அவர்கள் தானியேலைப் பிடித்துக்கொண்டுவந்து சிங்கத்தின் குகைக்குள் வீசினார்கள். அப்பொழுது அரசன் தானியேலிடம், “நீ இடைவிடாமல் ஆராதிக்கிற உனது இறைவன் உன்னை காப்பாற்றுவாராக என்றான்.”
So the king gave the order, and they brought Daniel and threw him into the den of lions. The king said to Daniel, “May your God, whom you serve continually, deliver you!”
17 பெருங்கல்லொன்று கொண்டுவரப்பட்டு அக்குகையின் வாசலில் மூடப்பட்டது. தானியேலுக்கு நிறைவேற்றப்பட்ட தீர்மானம் மாற்றப்படாதபடி, அரசன் அந்தக் கல்லைத் தனது அடையாள மோதிரத்தாலும், தனது உயர்குடி மக்களின் மோதிரத்தாலும் முத்திரையிட்டான்.
A stone was brought and placed over the mouth of the den, and the king sealed it with his own signet ring and with the rings of his nobles, so that nothing concerning Daniel could be changed.
18 பின் அரசன் தன் அரண்மனைக்குத் திரும்பிப்போய் அன்றிரவை சாப்பிடாமலும், எந்தவித ஆடல், பாடல் களிப்பு இன்றியும் கழித்தான். அவனால் நித்திரைகொள்ள முடியவில்லை.
Then the king went to his palace and spent the night fasting. No entertainment was brought before him, and sleep fled from him.
19 மறுநாள் அதிகாலையிலேயே அரசன் எழுந்து சிங்கத்தின் குகைக்கு விரைவாகப் போனான்.
At the first light of dawn, the king got up and hurried to the den of lions.
20 அரசன் குகையின் அருகில் வந்ததும் துயரமான குரலில் தானியேலைக் கூப்பிட்டு, “தானியேலே, வாழும் இறைவனின் அடியவனே, நீ இடைவிடாமல் ஆராதிக்கிற இறைவன் சிங்கங்களிடத்திலிருந்து உன்னைத் தப்புவிக்க வல்லவராய் இருந்தாரோ?” என்று தானியேலைக் கேட்டான்.
When he reached the den, he cried out in a voice of anguish, “O Daniel, servant of the living God, has your God, whom you serve continually, been able to deliver you from the lions?”
21 அதற்கு தானியேல், “அரசே, நீர் நீடூழி வாழ்க.
Then Daniel replied, “O king, may you live forever!
22 எனது இறைவன் தனது தூதனை அனுப்பினார், அவர் சிங்கங்களின் வாய்களைக் கட்டிப்போட்டார். அவை எனக்குத் தீங்கொன்றும் செய்யவில்லை. ஏனெனில் நான் இறைவனின் முன்னிலையில் குற்றமற்றவனாகக் காணப்பட்டேன். அரசே, நான் உமக்கு முன்னிலையிலும், ஒருபொழுதும் எந்தப் பிழையும் செய்யவில்லை என்றான்.”
My God sent His angel and shut the mouths of the lions. They have not hurt me, for I was found innocent in His sight, and I have done no wrong against you, O king.”
23 அப்பொழுது அரசன் மிகவும் மனம் மகிழ்ந்து, தானியேலைச் சிங்கத்தின் குகையிலிருந்து தூக்கி எடுக்கும்படி உத்தரவிட்டான். தானியேல் சிங்கக் குகையிலிருந்து தூக்கி எடுக்கப்பட்டபோது, அவனில் எவ்வித காயமும் காணப்படவில்லை. ஏனெனில், அவன் தனது இறைவனில் நம்பிக்கையாயிருந்தான்.
The king was overjoyed and gave orders to lift Daniel out of the den, and when Daniel was lifted out of the den, no wounds whatsoever were found on him, because he had trusted in his God.
24 பின்பு அரசனின் கட்டளைப்படியே தானியேலைக் குற்றஞ்சாட்டிய மனிதர்களும், அவர்களுடைய மனைவிகளும், பிள்ளைகளும் கொண்டுவரப்பட்டு சிங்கத்தின் குகையில் போடப்பட்டார்கள். ஆனால் அவர்கள் குகையின் தரையில் விழும் முன்னரே சிங்கங்கள் அவர்கள்மேல் பாய்ந்து, கிழித்து அவர்கள் எலும்புகளை நொறுக்கிப்போட்டன.
At the command of the king, the men who had falsely accused Daniel were brought and thrown into the den of lions—they and their children and wives. And before they had reached the bottom of the den, the lions overpowered them and crushed all their bones.
25 அப்பொழுது தரியு அரசன், எல்லா மக்களுக்கும், நாடுகளுக்கும், பல்வேறு நாடெங்கும் மொழிகளைப் பேசுபவர்களுக்கும் எழுதுகிறதாவது: “நீங்கள் மிகச் செழிப்புடன் வாழ்வீர்களாக.
Then King Darius wrote to the people of every nation and language throughout the land: “May your prosperity abound.
26 “எனது ஆட்சிக்குட்பட்டிருக்கும் எல்லா பகுதிகளிலுமுள்ள மக்கள் தானியேலின் இறைவனுக்குப் பயந்து அவரையே கனப்படுத்தவேண்டும்.
I hereby decree that in every part of my kingdom, men are to tremble in fear before the God of Daniel: For He is the living God, and He endures forever; His kingdom will never be destroyed, and His dominion will never end.
27 அவர் தப்புவிக்கிறார், அவர் காப்பாற்றுகிறார்.
He delivers and rescues; He performs signs and wonders in the heavens and on the earth, for He has rescued Daniel from the power of the lions.”
28 இவ்வாறு தானியேல், தரியுவின் ஆட்சிக்காலத்திலும், பெர்சியனாகிய கோரேஸின் ஆட்சிக்காலத்திலும் செழிப்புடன் வாழ்ந்தான்.
So Daniel prospered during the reign of Darius and the reign of Cyrus the Persian.
