தானியேல் 3
1 நேபுகாத்நேச்சார் தொண்ணூறு அடி உயரமும், ஒன்பது அடி அகலமும் கொண்டதாக ஒரு தங்க உருவச்சிலையைச் செய்வித்து, அதைப் பாபிலோன் மாகாணத்திலுள்ள, “தூரா” என்னும் சமவெளியில் நிறுத்தினான்.
In [his] eighteenth year Nabuchodonosor the king made a golden image, its height was sixty cubits, its breadth six cubits: and he set it up in the plain of Deira, in the province of Babylon.
2 அதன்பின் அவன் தான் நிறுத்திய உருவச் சிலையின் அர்ப்பணிப்பிற்கு வரும்படி சிற்றரசர்கள், நிர்வாக அதிகாரிகள், ஆளுநர்கள், ஆலோசகர்கள், பொருளாளர்கள், நீதிபதிகள், உப நீதிபதிகள், மற்றும் எல்லா மாகாண அலுவலர்களையும் அழைத்துவரக் கட்டளையிட்டான்.
And he sent forth to gather the governors, and the captains, and the heads of provinces, chiefs, and princes, and those who were in authority, and all the rulers of districts, to come to the dedication of the image.
3 அதன்படி சிற்றரசர்கள், நிர்வாக அதிகாரிகள், ஆளுநர்கள், ஆலோசகர்கள், பொருளாளர்கள், நீதிபதிகள், உப நீதிபதிகள் மற்றும் எல்லா மாகாண அலுவலர்களும் நேபுகாத்நேச்சார் அரசன் நிறுத்தியிருந்த உருவச் சிலையின் அர்ப்பணிப்பிற்காக வந்துசேர்ந்து, அதற்குமுன் நின்றார்கள்.
So the heads of provinces, the governors, the captains, the chiefs, the great princes, those who were in authority, and all the rulers of districts, were gathered to the dedication of the image which king Nabuchodonosor had set up; and they stood before the image.
4 அப்பொழுது அரச அறிவிப்பாளன் உரத்த சத்தமாய், “நாட்டு மக்களே, பிற நாடுகளே, பல்வேறு மொழிகளைப் பேசும் மனிதரே, நீங்கள் செய்யவேண்டும் என்று அரசன் கட்டளையிட்டிருப்பது இதுவே:
Then a herald cried aloud, To you it is commanded, you peoples, tribes, [and] languages,
5 கொம்பு வாத்தியம், புல்லாங்குழல், சித்தார், வீணை, யாழ், நாதஸ்வரம் முதலான எல்லா இசைக்கருவிகளின் சத்தத்தை நீங்கள் கேட்டவுடனே, நீங்கள் எல்லோரும் இங்கு கீழே விழுந்து, நேபுகாத்நேச்சார் அரசன் நிறுத்தி வைத்திருக்கும் தங்கச் சிலையை வணங்கவேண்டும்.
at what hour you shall hear the sound of the trumpet, and pipe, and harp, and sackbut, and lute, and every kind of music, you shall fall down and worship the golden image which king Nabuchodonosor has set up.
6 அப்படிக் கீழே விழுந்து வணங்காதவன் எவனோ, அவன் உடனே பற்றியெரியும் நெருப்புச்சூளையில் போடப்படுவான் என்றான்.”
And whoever shall not fall down and worship, in the same hour he shall be cast into the burning fiery furnace.
7 கொம்பு வாத்தியம், புல்லாங்குழல், சித்தார், வீணை, யாழ் ஆகியவற்றின் சத்தத்தையும், எல்லாவித இசைகளையும் கேட்டபோது, எல்லா மக்களும், நாடுகளும், பல்வேறு மொழிகளையும் பேசும் மனிதரும் கீழே விழுந்து, நேபுகாத்நேச்சார் அரசன் நிறுத்திய அந்தத் தங்கச் சிலையை வணங்கினார்கள்.
And it came to pass when the nations heard the sound of the trumpet, and pipe, and harp, and sackbut, and lute, and all kinds of music, all the nations, tribes, [and] languages, fell down and worshipped the golden image which king Nabuchodonosor had set up.
8 அந்த நேரத்தில் சோதிடர் சிலர் அரசனிடம் முன்னேவந்து, யூதர்கள்மேல் பகிரங்கமாய்க் குற்றம் சுமத்தினார்கள்.
Then came near [certain] Chaldeans, and accused the Jews to the king, [saying],
9 அவர்கள் நேபுகாத்நேச்சார் அரசனிடம், “அரசே, நீர் நீடூழி வாழ்க.
O king, live for ever.
10 அரசே! கொம்பு வாத்தியம், புல்லாங்குழல், சித்தார், வீணை, யாழ், நாதஸ்வரம் ஆகியவற்றின் சத்தத்தையும், மற்றும் எல்லாவித இசையையும் கேட்டதும், எல்லாரும் கீழே விழுந்து தங்கச் சிலையை வணங்கவேண்டும் என்று நீர் கட்டளை பிறப்பித்திருக்கிறீர்.
You, O king, has made a decree that every man who shall hear the sound of the trumpet, and pipe, and harp, sackbut, and lute, and all kinds of music,
11 அவ்வாறு எவனாகிலும் கீழே விழுந்து வணங்காது போனால், அவன் பற்றியெரிகிற நெருப்புச்சூளையில் போடப்படவேண்டும் எனவும் கட்டளையிட்டீரே.
and shall not fall down and worship the golden image, shall be cast into the burning fiery furnace.
12 ஆனால் அரசே! பாபிலோன் மாகாணங்களுக்குத் தலைவர்களாக உம்மால் நியமிக்கப்பட்ட யூதர்கள் சிலர் இருக்கிறார்கள். சாத்ராக், மேஷாக், ஆபேத்நேகோ ஆகிய இவர்கள் உமக்குச் செவிகொடாமல் இருக்கிறார்கள். அவர்கள் உமது தெய்வங்களுக்குப் பணிசெய்யாமலும், நீர் நிறுத்திய தங்கத்தினாலான உருவச்சிலையை வணங்காமலும் இருக்கிறார்கள் என முறையிட்டார்கள்.”
There are [certain] Jews whom you has appointed over the affairs of the province of Babylon, Sedrach, Misach, [and] Abdenago, who have not obeyed your decree, O king: they serve not your gods, and worship not the golden image which you have set up.
13 அதைக்கேட்ட அரசன் நேபுகாத்நேச்சார் கடுங்கோபங்கொண்டு சாத்ராக், மேஷாக், ஆபேத்நேகோ ஆகியோரை அழைத்துவரக் கட்டளையிட்டான். எனவே அவர்கள் அரசனின் முன் கொண்டுவரப்பட்டார்கள்.
Then Nabuchodonosor in wrath and anger commanded to bring Sedrach, Misach, and Abdenago: and they were brought before the king.
14 அப்பொழுது நேபுகாத்நேச்சார் அவர்களிடம், “சாத்ராக், மேஷாக், ஆபேத்நேகோ என்பவர்களே, நீங்கள் எனது தெய்வங்களைப் பணிந்துகொள்ளாமலும், நான் நிறுத்தியுள்ள தங்கச் சிலையை வணங்காமலும் இருப்பது உண்மையா?” என்று கேட்டான்.
And Nabuchodonosor answered and said to them, Is it true, Sedrach, Misach, [and] Abdenago, that you serve not my gods, and worship not the golden image which I have set up?
15 “இப்பொழுதும் கொம்பு வாத்தியம், புல்லாங்குழல், சித்தார், வீணை, யாழ், நாதஸ்வரம் ஆகியவற்றின் சத்தத்தையும், மற்ற எல்லா இசைகளையும் நீங்கள் கேட்கும்போது, கீழே விழுந்து நான் நிறுத்திய சிலையை வணங்கினீர்களென்றால் உங்களுக்கு நல்லது. அப்படி நீங்கள் வணங்காவிட்டால், உடனே பற்றியெரிகிற நெருப்புச்சூளையில் போடப்படுவீர்கள். அப்பொழுது எனது கையிலிருந்து உங்களை விடுவிக்கிற தெய்வம் எது என்றான்?”
Now then if you be ready, whenever you shall hear the sound of the trumpet, and pipe, and harp, and sackbut, and lute, and harmony, and every kind of music, to fall down and worship the golden image which I have made; [well]: but if you worship not, in the same hour you shall be cast into the burning fiery furnace; and who is the God that shall deliver you out of my hand?
16 அதற்கு சாத்ராக், மேஷாக், ஆபேத்நேகோ என்பவர்கள் அரசனிடம், “நேபுகாத்நேச்சாரே, இதுபற்றி நாங்கள் உம்மோடு வாதிடவேண்டிய அவசியமில்லை.
Then answered Sedrach, Misach [and] Abdenago and said to king Nabuchodonosor, We have no need to answer you concerning this matter.
17 அரசே, நாங்கள் பற்றியெரிகிற நெருப்புச்சூளையில் போடப்பட்டால், நாங்கள் ஆராதிக்கிற இறைவன் அதிலிருந்து எங்களைக் காப்பாற்ற முடியுமானவராய் இருக்கிறார். உமது கையிலிருந்தும் அவர் எங்களை விடுவிப்பார்.
For our God whom we serve is in the heavens, able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and he will rescue us from your hands, O king.
18 அவ்வாறு விடுவிக்காமற்போனாலுங்கூட, அரசே, நாங்கள் உமது தெய்வங்களுக்கு பணிசெய்யவோ, நீர் நிறுத்திய சிலையை வணங்கவோ மாட்டோம். இதை நீர் அறிய வேண்டுமென நாங்கள் விரும்புகிறோம் என்றார்கள்.”
But if not, be it known to you, O king, that we [will] not serve your gods, nor worship the image which you have set up.
19 அப்பொழுது நேபுகாத்நேச்சார் அரசன், சாத்ராக், மேஷாக், ஆபேத்நேகோ ஆகியோர்மீது கடுங்கோபம் கொண்டான். அவர்களைப்பற்றி அவன் கொண்டிருந்த மனப்பாங்கு மாற்றமடைந்தது. அவன் அந்த சூளையை வழக்கத்தைவிட ஏழுமடங்கு அதிகமாகச் சூடாக்கும்படி கட்டளையிட்டான்.
Then Nabuchodonosor was filled with wrath, and the form of his countenance was changed towards Sedrach, Misach, and Abdenago: and he gave orders to heat the furnace seven times [more than usual], until it should burn to the uttermost.
20 பின்பு சாத்ராக், மேஷாக், ஆபேத்நேகோ என்பவர்களைக் கட்டி, பற்றியெரிகிற நெருப்புச்சூளையிலே போடும்படி தனது படையிலுள்ள வலிமையான போர் வீரருக்குக் கட்டளையிட்டான்.
And he commanded mighty men to bind Sedrach, Misach, and Abdenago, and to cast [them] into the burning fiery furnace.
21 அப்படியே இந்த மனிதர் தாங்கள் அணிந்திருந்த மேலுடைகளோடும், காற்சட்டைகளோடும், தலைப்பாகைகளோடும் மற்றும் உடைகளோடும் கட்டப்பட்டு, பற்றியெரியும் நெருப்புச்சூளையினுள் எறியப்பட்டார்கள்.
Then those men were bound with their coats, and caps, and hose, and were cast into the midst of the burning fiery furnace,
22 அரசனின் கட்டளை அவசரமானதாயிருந்ததாலும் சூளையோ மிகவும் சூடாயிருந்ததாலும் சாத்ராக், மேஷாக், ஆபேத்நேகோ ஆகியோரைக் கொண்டுசென்ற வீரர்களையோ நெருப்பு ஜூவாலை எரித்துப்போட்டது.
forasmuch as the king's word prevailed; and the furnace was made exceeding hot.
23 அதேவேளை இம்மூவரும் உறுதியாகக் கட்டுண்டவர்களாய் பற்றியெரியும் நெருப்புச்சூளைக்குள் விழுந்தார்கள்.
Then these three men, Sedrach, Misach, and Abdenago, fell bound into the midst of the burning furnace, and walked in the midst of the flame, singing praise to God, and blessing the Lord.
24 அப்பொழுது அதைப் பார்த்துக்கொண்டிருந்த நேபுகாத்நேச்சார் அரசன் ஆச்சரியத்துடன் துள்ளி எழுந்து, தனது ஆலோசகர்களிடம், “நாம் மூவரைத்தானே கட்டி நெருப்புச்சூளையில் போட்டோம் எனக் கேட்டான்?” அதற்கு அவர்கள், “நிச்சயமாக! ஆம் அரசே!” என்றார்கள்.
And Nabuchodonosor heard them singing praises; and he wondered, and rose up in haste, and said to his nobles, Did we not cast three men bound into the midst of the fire? and they said to the king, Yes, O king.
25 அவன், “இதோ பாருங்கள், நான்கு மனிதர்கள் நெருப்பிலே நடந்து திரிகிறதைக் காண்கிறேன். அவர்கள் கட்டப்படாதவர்களாயும், எதுவித சேதமும் இன்றியும் இருக்கிறார்கள். நான்காவது ஆள், பார்ப்பதற்கு தெய்வங்களின் மகன் போலிருக்கிறானே என்றான்.”
And the king said, But I see four men loose, and walking in the midst of the fire, and there has no harm happened to them; and the appearance of the fourth is like the Son of God.
26 அப்பொழுது நேபுகாத்நேச்சார் சுவாலித்து எரிகிற சூளையின் வாயில் அருகே நெருங்கிப்போய், “சாத்ராக்கே, மேஷாக்கே, ஆபேத்நேகோவே, மகா உன்னதமான இறைவனின் அடியவர்களே, உடனே வெளியேறுங்கள்; இங்கே வாருங்கள்” என்று சத்தமிட்டான். அப்படியே சாத்ராக், மேஷாக், ஆபேத்நேகோ என்பவர்கள் நெருப்பிலிருந்து வெளியே வந்தார்கள்.
Then Nabuchodonosor drew near to the door of the burning fiery furnace, and said, Sedrach, Misach, [and] Abdenago, you servants of the most high God, proceed forth, and come here. So Sedrach, Misach, [and] Abdenago, came forth out of the midst of the fire.
27 அப்பொழுது சிற்றரசர்களும், நிர்வாக அதிகாரிகளும், ஆளுநர்களும், அரச ஆலோசகர்களும் அவர்களைச் சுற்றி நெருங்கி வந்தார்கள். நெருப்போ அவர்களுடைய உடலுக்கு ஒரு தீங்குகூட விளைவிக்காமலும், தலைமயிர் கருகாமலும் இருப்பதைக் கண்டார்கள். அவர்களுடைய மேலுடைகள் எரியவும் இல்லை. அவர்கள்மேல் நெருப்பின் புகை வாடையும் இருக்கவில்லை.
Then were assembled the satraps, and captains, and heads of provinces, and the royal princes; and they saw the men, [and perceived] that the fire had not had power against their bodies, and the hair of their head was not burnt, and their coats were not scorched, nor was the smell of fire upon them.
28 அப்பொழுது நேபுகாத்நேச்சார் சொன்னதாவது: “தமது தூதனை அனுப்பி, தமது அடியவர்களை விடுவித்த சாத்ராக், மேஷாக், ஆபேத்நேகோ ஆகியோரின் இறைவனுக்குத் துதி உண்டாவதாக. அவர்கள் தங்கள் இறைவனில் நம்பிக்கை வைத்து அரச கட்டளைகளுக்கு எதிர்த்து நின்றார்கள். தங்கள் இறைவனைத்தவிர வேறு தெய்வத்தை வணங்காமலும், பணிந்துகொள்ளாமலும் இருந்து, தங்கள் உயிரைக் கொடுக்கவும் ஆயத்தமாயிருந்தார்களே.
And king Nabuchodonosor answered and said, Blessed be the God of Sedrach, Misach, [and] Abdenago, who has sent his angel, and delivered his servants, because they trusted in him; and they have changed the king's word, and delivered their bodies to be burnt, that they might not serve nor worship any god, except their own God.
29 ஆகவே சாத்ராக், மேஷாக், ஆபேத்நேகோ என்பவர்களின் இறைவனுக்கு எதிராக எதையாவது கூறும் எந்த மக்களும், எந்த மொழி பேசுவோரும் துண்டுதுண்டாக வெட்டிக் கொலைசெய்யப்படுவர். அவர்களுடைய வீடுகளும் இடிபாடுகளின் குவியலாக்கப்படும். இது எனது உறுதியான கட்டளை. ஏனெனில், வேறு எந்த தெய்வத்தினாலும் இவ்விதமாகக் காப்பாற்ற முடியாது என்றான்.”
Therefore I publish a decree: Every people, tribe, [or] language, that shall speak reproachfully against the God of Sedrach, Misach, [and] Abdenago shall be destroyed, and their houses shall be plundered: because there is no other God who shall be able to deliver thus.
30 அதன்பின்பு சாத்ராக், மேஷாக், ஆபேத்நேகோ என்பவர்களுக்கு அரசன், பாபிலோன் மாகாணத்தில் பதவி உயர்வு கொடுத்தான்.
Then the king promoted Sedrach, Misach, [and] Abdenago, in the province of Babylon, and advanced them, and gave them authority to rule over all the Jews who were in his kingdom.
