ஆமோஸ் 5

1 இஸ்ரயேல் குடும்பமே, இந்த வார்த்தையைக் கேளுங்கள். உங்களைக்குறித்து நான் புலம்புவதைக் கேளுங்கள்:

Hear this word that I am bearing to you, A lamentation, O house of Israel:

2 “இஸ்ரயேல் என்ற கன்னிப்பெண் விழுந்து விட்டாள், இவள் இனி ஒருபோதும் எழும்பமாட்டாள். தன் நாட்டிலேயே கைவிடப்பட்டாள். அவளைத் தூக்கிவிட யாருமேயில்லை.”

“Fallen, not to rise again, has the virgin of Israel, Left on her land—she has none [to] raise [her] up.”

3 ஆண்டவராகிய யெகோவா சொல்வது இதுவே: “இஸ்ரயேலில் ஆயிரம் வீரர்களை அணிவகுத்து அனுப்பிய பட்டணத்திற்கு, நூறுபேர் மட்டும் எஞ்சி வருவார்கள். நூறு வீரர்களை அணிவகுத்து அனுப்பிய பட்டணத்திற்கு, பத்துபேர் மட்டுமே எஞ்சி வருவார்கள்.”

For thus said Lord YHWH: “The city that is going out one thousand, Leaves one hundred, And that which is going out one hundred, Leaves ten to the house of Israel.”

4 இஸ்ரயேல் குடும்பத்திற்கு யெகோவா சொல்வது இதுவே: என்னைத் தேடுங்கள், நீங்கள் வாழ்வீர்கள்.

For thus said YHWH to the house of Israel: “Seek Me, and live,

5 பெத்தேலைத் தேடாதீர்கள், கில்காலுக்குப் போகாதீர்கள், பெயெர்செபாவிற்குப் பயணப்படாதீர்கள். கில்கால் நிச்சயமாக நாடுகடத்தப்படும், பெத்தேலும் ஒன்றுமில்லாது போகும்,

And do not seek Beth-El, and do not enter Gilgal, And do not pass through Beer-Sheba, For Gilgal utterly removes, And Beth-El becomes vanity.

6 இஸ்ரயேலின் யெகோவாவையே தேடுங்கள், அப்பொழுது நீங்கள் வாழ்வீர்கள். இல்லையெனில் அவர் யோசேப்பின் குடும்பத்தின் வழியாக நெருப்புபோல் அள்ளிக்கொண்டுபோவார். அந்த நெருப்பு எல்லாவற்றையும் சுட்டெரிக்கும். அதை அணைக்க பெத்தேலில் ஒருவரும் இருக்கமாட்டார்கள்.

Seek YHWH, and live, Lest He prosper as fire [against] the house of Joseph, And it has consumed, And there is no quencher for Beth-El—

7 நீதியைக் கசப்பாக மாற்றுகிறவர்களே, நியாயத்தைத் தரையில் தள்ளுகிறவர்களே, அவரையே தேடி வாழுங்கள்.

You who are turning judgment to wormwood, And have put down righteousness to the earth!”

8 அவரே அறுமீன், மிருகசீரிடம் ஆகிய நட்சத்திரக் கூட்டங்களை உண்டாக்கியவர். இருளை அதிகாலை வெளிச்சமாக மாற்றுகிறவரும், பகலை இரவாக மாற்றுகிறவரும் அவரே; கடலின் தண்ணீரை அழைத்து, பூமியின் மேற்பரப்பில் அதைப் பொழிகிறவரும் அவரே, “யெகோவா” என்பது அவர் பெயர்.

The Maker of the Pleiades and Orion, And He who is turning death-shade to the morning—And He has made day [as] dark [as] night—Who is calling to the waters of the sea, And pours them on the face of the earth, YHWH [is] His Name;

9 அவர் கோட்டைகளை மின்னல் வேகத்தில் தாக்கி அழித்து, அரணான பட்டணங்களைப் பாழாக்குகிறார்.

Who is brightening up the spoiled against the strong, And the spoiled comes against a fortress.

10 இஸ்ரயேலின் நீங்கள் நீதிமன்றத்திற்கு குற்றவாளியைக் கொண்டுவருகிறவனை வெறுக்கிறீர்கள், உண்மை சொல்கிறவனை உதாசீனம் செய்கிறீர்கள்.

They have hated a reprover in the gate, And they detest a plain speaker.

11 ஏழையை மிதித்து, உங்களுக்குத் தானியத்தைக் கொடுக்கும்படி அவனைப் பலவந்தப்படுத்துகிறீர்கள். ஆகையால் கல்லினால் மாளிகைகளைக் கட்டியும், அதில் வாழமாட்டீர்கள், செழிப்பான திராட்சைத் தோட்டங்களை உண்டாக்கினாலும் அவற்றின் இரசத்தை நீங்கள் குடிக்கமாட்டீர்கள்.

Therefore, because of your trampling on the poor, And the tribute of grain you take from him, Houses of hewn work you have built, And you do not dwell in them, Desirable vineyards you have planted, And you do not drink their wine.

12 உங்கள் மீறுதல்கள் எவ்வளவு மிகுதியென்றும், உங்கள் பாவங்கள் எவ்வளவு கொடியதென்றும் நான் அறிவேன். நீங்கள் நீதிமான்களை ஒடுக்கி, அவர்களிடமிருந்து இலஞ்சம் வாங்குகிறீர்கள். நீதிமன்றத்தில் ஏழைக்கு நீதிவழங்க மறுக்கிறீர்கள்.

For I have known—many [are] your transgressions, And mighty your sins, Adversaries of the righteous, taking ransoms, And you turned aside the needy in the gate.

13 ஆகையால் அப்படிப்பட்ட காலங்களில் விவேகமுள்ளவன் மவுனமாய் இருக்கவேண்டும். ஏனெனில் காலம் மிகக் கொடியதாய் இருக்கிறது.

Therefore the wise is silent at that time, For it [is] an evil time.

14 தீமையை அல்ல, நன்மையைத் தேடுங்கள், அப்பொழுது நீங்கள் வாழ்வீர்கள். சேனைகளின் இறைவனாகிய யெகோவா உங்களோடிருக்கிறார் என்று நீங்கள் சொல்வதுபோலவே, அவர் உங்களோடிருப்பார்.

Seek good, and not evil, that you may live, and it is so; YHWH, God of Hosts, [is] with you, as you said.

15 தீமையை வெறுத்து நன்மையை விரும்புங்கள். நீதிமன்றங்களில் நீதியை நிலைநிறுத்துங்கள். ஒருவேளை சேனைகளின் இறைவனாகிய யெகோவா, யோசேப்பின் மீதியானவர்மேல் இரக்கம் காட்டுவார்.

Hate evil, and love good, And set up judgment in the gate, It may be YHWH, God of Hosts, pities the remnant of Joseph.

16 ஆகையால் யெகோவா, சேனைகளின் இறைவனாகிய யெகோவா சொல்வது இதுவே: “எல்லா வீதிகளிலும் புலம்பல் உண்டாயிருக்கும். பொது இடங்களிலெல்லாம் வேதனையின் அழுகுரல் உண்டாயிருக்கும். அழுவதற்காக விவசாயிகளும், புலம்புவதற்காக புலம்பல் வைப்பவர்களும் அழைப்பிக்கப்படுவார்கள்.

Therefore, thus said YHWH, God of Hosts, the Lord: “Lamentation is in all broad places, And in all out-places they say, Oh! Oh! And called the farmer to mourning, And the skillful of wailing to lamentation.

17 திராட்சைத் தோட்டங்களிலும் புலம்பல் உண்டாயிருக்கும். ஏனெனில் நான் உங்களைத் தண்டித்துக்கொண்டு கடந்துபோவேன்” என்று யெகோவா சொல்கிறார்.

And in all vineyards [is] lamentation, For I pass into your midst,” said YHWH.

18 யெகோவாவின் நாளை விரும்புகிற உங்களுக்கு ஐயோ கேடு, யெகோவாவின் நாளை ஏன் விரும்புகிறீர்கள்? அந்த நாள் வெளிச்சமாயிராமல் இருளாயிருக்கும்.

Behold, you who are desiring the Day of YHWH, Why [is] this to you—the Day of YHWH? It is darkness, and not light,

19 ஒரு சிங்கத்திடமிருந்து தப்பிய மனிதன், கரடியைச் சந்தித்ததுபோல் அது இருக்கும். அவன் தன் வீட்டிற்குள் வந்து சுவரில் கையை ஊன்றியபோது, அவனைப் பாம்பு கடித்ததுபோல் இருக்கும்.

As [when] one flees from the face of the lion, And the bear has met him, And he has come into the house, And has leaned his hand on the wall, And the serpent has bitten him.

20 யெகோவாவின் நாள் வெளிச்சமாயிராமல், இருள் நிறைந்ததாய் இருக்குமல்லவோ? ஒளிக்கீற்று எதுவுமின்றி காரிருளாயிருக்குமல்லவோ?

Is not the Day of YHWH darkness and not light, Even thick darkness that has no brightness?

21 உங்கள் பண்டிகைகளை நான் வெறுத்து, உதாசீனம் செய்கிறேன்; உங்கள் சபைக் கூட்டங்களை என்னால் சகிக்க முடியவில்லை.

“I have hated—I have loathed your festivals, And I am not refreshed by your restraints.

22 தகன காணிக்கைகளையும், தானிய காணிக்கைகளையும் நீங்கள் எனக்குக் கொண்டுவந்தாலும், அவற்றை நான் ஏற்றுக்கொள்ளமாட்டேன். சிறப்பான சமாதான காணிக்கையை நீங்கள் கொண்டுவந்தாலும், அவற்றைப் பார்க்கவும் மாட்டேன்.

For though you cause burnt-offerings and your presents to ascend to Me, I am not pleased, And I do not behold the peace-offering of your fatlings.

23 உங்கள் பாடல்களின் சத்தத்தோடு அகன்றுபோங்கள். உங்கள் பாடல்களின் இசையை நான் கேட்கமாட்டேன்.

Turn the noise of your songs aside from Me, Indeed, I do not hear the praise of your stringed instruments.

24 அவற்றிற்குப் பதிலாக நீதி ஆற்றைப்போல் புரண்டோடட்டும். நீதி என்றும் வற்றாத நீரோடையைப்போல் ஓடட்டும்.

And judgment rolls on as waters, And righteousness as a perennial stream.

25 இஸ்ரயேல் குடும்பத்தாரே, பாலைவனத்தில் நாற்பது வருடங்களாய் நீங்கள் எனக்கு பலிகளையும், காணிக்கைகளையும் கொண்டுவந்தீர்களோ?

Did you bring sacrifices and offerings near to Me, In a wilderness forty years, O house of Israel?

26 ஆனால் நீங்களோ, உங்கள் அரசனின் விக்கிரகத் தேரைத் தூக்கிச் சுமந்தீர்கள். உங்களுக்கென செய்த விக்கிரகங்களின் கூடாரத்தையும், நட்சத்திரத் தெய்வங்களையும் சுமந்துகொண்டு போனீர்கள்.

And you bore Succoth your king, and Chiun your images, The star of your god, that you made for yourselves.

27 ஆதலால் நான் உங்களைத் தமஸ்குவுக்கு அப்பால் நாடுகடத்துவேன் என்று, சேனைகளின் இறைவன் என்னும் பெயருடைய யெகோவா சொல்கிறார்.

And I removed you beyond Damascus,” said YHWH—God of Hosts [is] His Name.
