2 சாமுவேல் 8

1 சிறிது காலத்திற்குப்பின் தாவீது பெலிஸ்தியரை தோற்கடித்து, அவர்களை தனக்குக் கீழ்ப்படுத்தி, பெலிஸ்தியரின் கட்டுப்பாட்டில் இருந்த மேத்தேக் அம்மா என்ற பட்டணத்தைக் கைப்பற்றினான்.

After this now, Dauid smote the Philistims, and subdued them, and Dauid tooke the bridle of bondage out of the hand of the Philistims.

2 மேலும் தாவீது மோவாபியரையும் தோற்கடித்தான். அவன் அவர்களை தரையில் கிடத்தி, அளவிடும் கயிற்றினால் அளந்தான். ஒவ்வொரு இரண்டாம் அளவுக்குள் அடங்கியவர்களைக் கொன்று, ஒவ்வொரு மூன்றாம் அளவுக்குள் அடங்கியவர்களை உயிரோடு விட்டான். எனவே மோவாபியர் தாவீதுக்குக் கீழ்ப்படுத்தப்பட்டு அவனுக்கு வரி செலுத்தினார்கள்.

And hee smote Moab, and measured them with a corde, and cast them downe to the ground: he measured them with two cordes to put them to death, and with one full corde to keepe them aliue: so became the Moabites Dauids seruants, and brought giftes.

3 மேலும், ரேகோபின் மகன் ஆதாதேசர் என்னும் சோபாவின் அரசன், யூப்ரட்டீஸ் நதியோரம் உள்ள பகுதியை திரும்பவும் தனது கட்டுப்பாட்டுக்குள் கொண்டுவரச் சென்றபோது, தாவீது அவனையும் தோற்கடித்தான்.

Dauid smote also Hadadezer the sonne of Rehob King of Zobah, as he went to recouer his border at the riuer Euphrates.

4 தாவீது அவனிடமிருந்த ஆயிரம் தேர்களையும், ஏழாயிரம் தேரோட்டிகளையும், இருபதாயிரம் காலாட்படைகளையும் கைப்பற்றினான். அவற்றில் தேர் இழுக்கும் நூறு குதிரைகளைத்தவிர மற்ற குதிரைகளையெல்லாம் முடமாக்கினான்.

And Dauid tooke of them a thousand and seuen hundreth horsemen, and twenty thousande footemen, and Dauid destroyed all the charets, but he reserued an hundreth charets of them.

5 சோபாவின் அரசன் ஆதாதேசருக்கு உதவும்படி தமஸ்குவைச் சேர்ந்த சீரியர் வந்தபோது, தாவீது அவர்களில் இருபத்திரண்டாயிரம் பேரை வெட்டிப்போட்டான்.

Then came the Aramites of Dammesek to succour Hadadezer king of Zobah, but Dauid slewe of the Aramites two and twenty thousande men.

6 அதன்பின் தமஸ்குவில் சீரிய அரசாட்சிப் பகுதியில் இராணுவ முகாம்களை அமைத்தான். சீரியர் தாவீதின் ஆட்சிக்குட்பட்டு அவனுக்கு வரி செலுத்தினார்கள். தாவீது சென்ற இடமெல்லாம் யெகோவா அவனுக்கு வெற்றியைக் கொடுத்தார்.

And Dauid put a garison in Aram of Damesek: and the Aramites became seruants to Dauid, and brought gifts. And the Lord saued Dauid wheresoeuer he went.

7 தாவீது ஆதாதேசரின் அதிகாரிகளுக்குச் சொந்தமான தங்கக் கேடயங்களைக் கைப்பற்றி எருசலேமுக்குக் கொண்டுவந்தான்.

And Dauid tooke the shieldes of gold that beloged to the seruants of Hadadezer, and brought them to Ierusalem.

8 ஆதாதேசருக்கு சொந்தமான பேத்தா, பேரொத்தாய் என்னும் பட்டணங்களிலிருந்து தாவீது அரசன் ஏராளமான வெண்கலத்தைக் கைப்பற்றினான்.

And out of Betah, and Berothai (cities of Hadadezer) king Dauid brought exceeding much brasse.

9 ஆதாதேசருடைய படைகள் அனைத்தையும் தாவீது முறியடித்த செய்தியை ஆமாத்தின் அரசனான தோயீ கேள்விப்பட்டான்.

Then Toi king of Hamath heard howe Dauid had smitten all the hoste of Hadadezer,

10 அப்பொழுது தோயீ தன்னோடு எப்போதும் எதிர்த்துப் போர் செய்த ஆதாதேசரை தாவீது வெற்றிகொண்டதால், அவனை நலம் விசாரிக்கவும், வாழ்த்துக்கூறவும் தன் மகன் யோராமை தாவீது அரசனிடம் அனுப்பினான். யோராம் தன்னுடன் தங்கம், வெள்ளி, வெண்கலத்தினாலான பொருட்களை எடுத்துவந்தான்.

Therefore Toi sent Ioram his sonne vnto King Dauid, to salute him, and to reioyce with him because he had fought against Hadadezer, and beaten him (for Hadadezer had warre with Toi) who brought with him vessels of siluer, and vessels of golde, and vessels of brasse.

11 தாவீது அரசன் தான் கீழ்ப்படுத்திய நாடுகளிலிருந்து கைப்பற்றிய வெள்ளியையும், தங்கத்தையும் யெகோவாவுக்கு அர்ப்பணம் செய்ததுபோலவே, யோராம் கொண்டுவந்தவற்றையும் செய்தான்.

And King Dauid did dedicate them vnto the Lord with the siluer and golde that he had dedicate of all the nations, which he had subdued:

12 ஏதோமியர், மோவாபியர், அம்மோனியர், பெலிஸ்தியர், அமலேக்கியர் ஆகியோரையே அவன் கீழ்ப்படுத்தியிருந்தான். அத்தோடு ரேகோபின் மகனாகிய சோபாவின் அரசன் ஆதாதேசரிடமிருந்து கொள்ளையிட்ட பொருட்களையும் யெகோவாவுக்கு அர்ப்பணித்தான்.

Of Aram, and of Moab, and of the children of Ammon, and of the Philistims, and of Amalek, and of the spoyle of Hadadezer ye sonne of Rehob King of Zobah.

13 தாவீது உப்புப் பள்ளத்தாக்கிலே, பதினெட்டாயிரம் ஏதோமியரைக் கொன்று திரும்பியபின் அவன் பிரபலம் அடைந்தான்.

So Dauid gate a name after that hee returned, and had slayne of the Aramites in the valley of salt eighteene thousand men.

14 தாவீது ஏதோம் முழுவதிலும் இராணுவ முகாம்களை ஏற்படுத்தினான். ஏதோமியர் அனைவரும் தாவீதுக்குக் கீழ்ப்படுத்தப்பட்டார்கள். தாவீது சென்ற இடங்களிலெல்லாம் யெகோவா அவனுக்கு வெற்றியைக் கொடுத்தார்.

And he put a garison in Edom: throughout all Edom put he souldiers, and all they of Edom became Dauids seruants: and the Lord kept Dauid whithersoeuer he went.

15 தாவீது தனது எல்லா மக்களுக்கும் நீதியையும், நியாயத்தையும் செய்து, இஸ்ரயேலர் அனைவரையும் ஆட்சிசெய்தான்.

Thus Dauid reigned ouer all Israel, and executed iudgement and iustice vnto all his people.

16 செருயாவின் மகன் யோவாப் படைகளுக்குத் தலைவனாயிருந்தான். அகிலூதின் மகன் யோசபாத் பதிவாளனாயிருந்தான்.

And Ioab the sonne of Zeruiah was ouer the hoste, and Ioshaphat the sonne of Ahilud was recorder.

17 அகிதூபின் மகன் சாதோக்கும், அபியத்தாரின் மகன் அகிமெலேக்கும் ஆசாரியர்களாய் இருந்தார்கள். செராயா செயலாளனாக இருந்தான்.

And Zadok the sonne of Ahitub, and Ahimelech the sonne of Abiathar were the Priestes, and Seraiah the Scribe.

18 யோய்தாவின் மகன் பெனாயா கிரேத்தியருக்கும், பிலேத்தியருக்கும் தலைவனாயிருந்தான். தாவீதின் மகன்கள் ஆசாரியர்களாய் இருந்தார்கள்.

And Benaiah the sonne of Iehoiada and the Cherethites and the Pelethites, and Dauids sonnes were chiefe rulers.
