2 இராஜாக்கள் 20

1 அந்நாட்களில் எசேக்கியா வியாதிப்பட்டு சாகும் தருவாயில் இருந்தான். ஆமோஸின் மகனான இறைவாக்கினன் ஏசாயா அவனிடம் போய், “யெகோவா கூறுவது இதுவே: நீர் சாகப்போகிறீர்; பிழைக்கமாட்டீர். ஆகையால் உன் வீட்டுக் காரியங்களை ஒழுங்குபடுத்தும் என்கிறார்” என்றான்.

In those days Hezekiah fell sick unto death; and there came to him Isaiah the son of Amoz the prophet, and said unto him, Thus hath said the Lord, Give thy charge to thy house; for thou shalt die, and not live.

2 எசேக்கியா தன் முகத்தை சுவரின் பக்கமாகத் திருப்பி யெகோவாவிடம் மன்றாடினான்.

Then did he turn his face to the wall, and prayed unto the Lord, saying,

3 அவன், “யெகோவாவே, நான் உமக்குமுன் உண்மையுள்ளவனாய் நடந்து, பயபக்தியாய் முழுமனதுடன் உமது பார்வையில் நலமானதையே செய்தேன் என்பதை நினைவுகூரும்” என்று எசேக்கியா மனங்கசந்து அழுதான்.

I beseech thee, O Lord, remember now that I have walked before thee in truth, and with an undivided heart, and have done what is good in thy eyes. And Hezekiah wept aloud.

4 ஏசாயா அரண்மனை முற்றத்தின் நடுப்பகுதியைக் கடந்துசெல்ல முன்பே யெகோவாவின் வார்த்தை அவனுக்கு வந்தது.

And it came to pass, before Isaiah was gone out into the middle court, that the word of the Lord came to him, saying,

5 அவர் அவனிடம், “நீ திரும்பிப்போய் என் மக்களின் தலைவனாகிய எசேக்கியாவிடம், ‘உன் தகப்பனாகிய தாவீதின் இறைவனாகிய யெகோவா சொல்வது இதுவே: நான் உனது வேண்டுதலைக் கேட்டேன், உன் கண்ணீரையும் கண்டேன்; நான் உன்னைச் சுகப்படுத்துவேன். இன்றிலிருந்து மூன்றாம் நாள் நீ யெகோவாவின் ஆலயத்துக்குப் போவாய்.

Return, and say to Hezekiah the ruler of my people, Thus hath said the Lord, the God of David thy father, I have heard thy prayer, I have seen thy tears; behold, I will heal thee: on the third day shalt thou go up unto the house of the Lord.

6 உன் வாழ்நாட்களோடு இன்னும் பதினைந்து வருடங்களைக் கூட்டுவேன். அசீரிய அரசனின் கையிலிருந்து உன்னையும், இந்தப் பட்டணத்தையும் விடுவிப்பேன். எனக்காகவும், என் தாசனாகிய தாவீதுக்காகவும் இந்தப் பட்டணத்துக்கு ஆதரவாக இருப்பேன்’ என்று கூறுகிறார் என்று சொல்” என்றார்.

And I will add unto thy days fifteen years; and out of the hand of the king of Assyria will I deliver thee and this city; and I will shield this city for my own sake, and for the sake of David my servant.

7 அப்பொழுது ஏசாயா, “அத்திப்பழ அடையொன்றைத் தயாரித்துப் பற்றுப்போடுங்கள்” என்றான். அவர்கள் அவ்வாறே செய்து அவனுடைய கட்டியின்மீது பற்றுப்போட்டார்கள். அப்பொழுது அவன் சுகமடைந்தான்.

And Isaiah said, Fetch a lump of figs. And they fetched and laid it on the inflammation, and he recovered.

8 எசேக்கியா ஏசாயாவிடம், “யெகோவா என்னைச் சுகப்படுத்துவார் என்பதற்கும் நான் இன்றிலிருந்து மூன்றாம் நாளில் யெகோவாவின் ஆலயத்திற்குப் போவேன் என்பதற்கு அடையாளம் என்ன?” என்று கேட்டிருந்தான்.

And Hezekiah said unto Isaiah, What sign shall there be that the Lord will heal me, and that I shall go up into the house of the Lord the third day?

9 அதற்கு ஏசாயா பதிலாக, “யெகோவா உனக்கு வாக்குப்பண்ணியபடியே செய்வார் என்பதற்கு ஒரு அடையாளம் இதுவே: நீ சூரிய கடிகாரத்தின் நிழல் பத்துப் படிகள் முன்னேபோவதையா அல்லது பின்னேபோவதையா விரும்புகிறாய்?” என்று கேட்டான்.

And Isaiah said, This shall be unto thee the sign from the Lord, that the Lord will do the thing that he hath spoken: Shall the shadow go forward ten degrees, or go back ten degrees?

10 அதற்கு எசேக்கியா, “நிழல் பத்துப் படிகள் முன்னோக்கி செல்வது ஒரு எளிய காரியம்.” ஆகவே, “பத்துப் படிகள் பின்னோக்கிப் போகட்டும்” என்றான்.

And Hezekiah said, It is a light thing for the shadow to go forward ten degrees: no; but let the shadow return backward ten degrees.

11 அப்பொழுது இறைவாக்கினன் ஏசாயா யெகோவாவிடம் மன்றாடினான். அப்படியே யெகோவா ஆகாஸின் சூரிய கடிகார நிழலைப் பத்துப் படிகள் பின்னாகப் போகும்படி செய்தார்.

And Isaiah the prophet called unto the Lord; and he caused the shadow to return, by the degrees which the [sun] was gone down on the dial of Achaz, backward, ten degrees.

12 அந்நாட்களில் பாபிலோனிய அரசன் பலாதானின் மகன் பெரோதாக்பலாதான், எசேக்கியா வியாதிப்பட்டிருப்பதைக் கேள்விப்பட்டான். எனவே அவன் எசேக்கியாவுக்குக் கடிதங்களையும் அன்பளிப்பையும் அனுப்பினான்.

And at that time sent Berodach-baladan, the son of Baladan, the king of Babylon, letters and a present unto Hezekiah; for he had heard that Hezekiah had been sick.

13 எசேக்கியா அந்தத் தூதுவரை வரவேற்றான். அவன் தனது களஞ்சியங்களிலுள்ள வெள்ளி, தங்கம், நறுமணப் பொருட்கள், சிறந்த எண்ணெய் ஆகியவற்றையும், ஆயுதசாலை முழுவதையும், தனது பொக்கிஷசாலையில் இருந்த எல்லாவற்றையும் அவர்களுக்குக் காட்டினான். தன் அரண்மனையிலும், தன்னுடைய அரசு முழுவதிலும் எசேக்கியா அவர்களுக்குக் காட்டாமல் விட்டது ஒன்றுமில்லை.

And Hezekiah listened unto them, and showed them the whole of his treasure-house, the silver, and the gold, and the spices, and the precious oil, and the whole of his armor-house, and all that was found in his treasures: there was nothing that Hezekiah showed them not, in his house and in all his dominion.

14 அப்பொழுது இறைவாக்கினன் ஏசாயா எசேக்கியா அரசனிடம், “அந்த மனிதர் எங்கிருந்து வந்தார்கள்? என்ன சொன்னார்கள்?” என்று கேட்டான். எசேக்கியா அதற்குப் பதிலாக, “அவர்கள் மிகவும் தூரத்திலுள்ள நாடான பாபிலோனிலிருந்து வந்தார்கள்” என்று பதில் சொன்னான்.

Then came Isaiah the prophet unto king Hezekiah, and said unto him, What did these men say? and whence did they come unto thee? And Hezekiah said, From a far off country are they come, from Babylon.

15 இறைவாக்கினன் அவனிடம், “உனது அரண்மனையில் அவர்கள் எதைப் பார்த்தார்கள்?” என்று கேட்டான். அதற்கு எசேக்கியா, “எனது அரண்மனையிலுள்ள எல்லாவற்றையும் அவர்கள் பார்த்தார்கள். எனது பொக்கிஷங்களில் நான் அவர்களுக்குக் காட்டாமல் விட்டது ஒன்றுமேயில்லை” எனப் பதிலளித்தான்.

And he said, What did they see in thy house? And Hezekiah answered, All that is in my house have they seen: there was nothing that I did not show them in my treasures.

16 அதற்கு ஏசாயா எசேக்கியாவிடம், “யெகோவாவின் வார்த்தையைக் கேள்.

And Isaiah said unto Hezekiah, Hear the word of the Lord,

17 உனது அரண்மனையில் உள்ள ஒவ்வொன்றும், இன்றுவரை உன் முற்பிதாக்கள் சேகரித்து வைத்த யாவும் பாபிலோனுக்கு எடுத்துச் செல்லப்படும் காலம் நிச்சயமாக வரும். அவைகளில் ஒன்றாகிலும் மீந்திருக்காது என்று யெகோவா கூறுகிறார்.

Behold, days are coming, when all that is in thy house, and that which thy fathers have laid up in store until this day, shall be carried to Babylon: nothing shall be left, saith the Lord.

18 மேலும், நீ பெற்றெடுக்கும் உனது சந்ததியாகிய உனக்குப் பிறக்கும் சொந்த பிள்ளைகளில் சிலரும் கைதிகளாய் கொண்டுபோகப்பட்டு, பாபிலோன் அரசனின் அரண்மனையில் அதிகாரிகளாய் இருப்பார்கள் என்று யெகோவா சொல்கிறார்” என்றான்.

And of thy sons that will issue from thee, whom thou wilt beget, shall they take; and they shall be court-servants in the palace of the king of Babylon.

19 அதற்கு எசேக்கியா ஏசாயாவை நோக்கி, “நீர் சொன்னது யெகோவாவினுடைய வார்த்தை என்றால் அது நல்லதுதான்” என்று கூறினான். ஆனால் தனக்குள்ளே, என் வாழ்நாளிலாவது சமாதானமும் பாதுகாப்பும் இருக்காதா? என்று நினைத்தான்.

Then said Hezekiah unto Isaiah, Good is the word of the Lord which thou hast spoken. And he said, Is it not so, if there be peace and stability in my days?

20 எசேக்கியாவின் ஆட்சியின் மற்ற நிகழ்வுகளும், அவனுடைய எல்லா சாதனைகளும் யூதா அரசர்களின் வரலாற்றுப் புத்தகத்திலல்லவோ எழுதப்பட்டுள்ளன. பட்டணத்துக்குள் தண்ணீரைக் கொண்டுவருவதற்கு அவன் எவ்வாறு குளமும், சுரங்கமும் அமைத்தான் என்பது அதில் அடங்கியுள்ளன.

And the rest of the acts of Hezekiah, and all his mighty deeds, and how he made the pool, and the aqueduct, and brought the water into the city, behold, they are written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah.

21 எசேக்கியா தன் முற்பிதாக்களைப்போல இறந்துபோனான். அவனுக்குப்பின் அவன் மகன் மனாசே அரசனானான்.

And Hezekiah slept with his fathers: and Menasseh his son became king in his stead.
