2 நாளாகமம் 16
1 ஆசாவின் ஆட்சியின் முப்பத்தாறாம் வருடத்தில், இஸ்ரயேலின் அரசனான பாஷா, யூதாவுக்கு விரோதமாகப் போய், யூதா அரசனான ஆசாவின் எல்லையிலிருந்து யாரும் வெளியே வரவோ, உள்ளே போகவோ முடியாதபடி தடுப்பதற்காக ராமாவைச் சுற்றி அரண் அமைத்தான்.
In the thirty-sixth year of the reign of Asa, Baasha king of Israel came up against Judah, and built Ramah, —that he might let none come out or go in, unto Asa king of Judah.
2 அப்பொழுது ஆசா யெகோவாவின் ஆலயத்தின் திரவிய களஞ்சியத்திலும், தன் சொந்த அரண்மனை திரவிய களஞ்சியத்திலும் இருந்து வெள்ளியையும், தங்கத்தையும் எடுத்து தமஸ்குவை ஆட்சி செய்த சீரிய அரசன் பெனாதாத்திற்கு அனுப்பினான்.
So Asa brought forth silver and gold, out of the treasuries of the house of Yahweh, and the house of the king, —and sent unto Ben-hadad, king of Syria, who dwelt in Damascus, saying:
3 மேலும் அவன் அவர்களிடம், “உம்முடைய தகப்பனுக்கும், என்னுடைய தகப்பனுக்குமிடையில் இருந்ததுபோல, உமக்கும் எனக்கும் இடையில் ஒரு ஒப்பந்தம் இருக்கட்டும். இதோ பாரும், நான் வெள்ளியையும், தங்கத்தையும் உமக்கு பரிசாக அனுப்புகிறேன். நீர் இஸ்ரயேலின் அரசனான பாஷாவுடன் வைத்துள்ள ஒப்பந்தத்தை முறித்துவிடும். அப்போது அவன் என்னிடமிருந்து பின்வாங்கி விடுவான்” என்று சொல்லி அனுப்பினான்.
[Let there be] a covenant, between me and thee, as between my father and thy father.—Lo! I have sent thee silver and gold, go break thy covenant with Baasha king of Israel, that he may go up from me.
4 பெனாதாத் அரசனாகிய ஆசாவுடன் உடன்பட்டு தனது இராணுவத் தளபதிகளை இஸ்ரயேலின் பட்டணங்களுக்கு எதிராக அனுப்பினான். அவர்கள் ஈயோன், தாண், ஆபேல் மாயீம் பட்டணங்களையும் நப்தலியின் களஞ்சியப் பட்டணங்கள் எல்லாவற்றையும் கைப்பற்றினார்கள்.
And Ben-hadad hearkened unto King Asa, and sent the chieftains of the forces which he had, against the cities of Israel, and smote Ijon and Dan, and Abel-maim, —and all the storehouses of the cities of Naphtali.
5 பாஷா இதைக் கேள்விப்பட்டபோது ராமாவைக் கட்டுவதை நிறுத்தி, தனது வேலையைக் கைவிட்டான்.
And it cams to pass, when Baasha heard it, he left off building Ramah, —and let his work cease.
6 அப்பொழுது அரசன் ஆசா யூதாவின் எல்லா மனிதர்களையும் கொண்டுவந்தான். அவர்கள் போய் பாஷா பயன்படுத்திய கற்களையும், மரங்களையும் ராமாவிலிருந்து கொண்டுபோனார்கள். ஆசா அவற்றைப் பயன்படுத்தி கேபாவையும், மிஸ்பாவையும் கட்டினான்.
And, Asa the king, took all Judah, and they carried away the stones of Ramah, and the timbers thereof, which Baasha had used in building, —and he built therewith, Geba and Mizpah.
7 அந்தக் காலத்தில் தரிசனக்காரனான அனானி என்பவன் யூதாவின் அரசன் ஆசாவிடம் வந்தான். அவன் ஆசாவிடம், “நீ இறைவனாகிய உனது யெகோவாவிடம் நம்பிக்கை வைக்காமல், சீரிய அரசனில் நம்பிக்கை வைத்தாய். அதனால் சீரிய அரசனின் படை உனது கைக்குத் தப்பித்துக் கொண்டது.
And, at that time, came Hanani the seer, unto Asa the king of Judah, —and said unto him, Because thou hast leaned upon the king of Syria, and hast not leaned upon Yahweh thy God, for this cause, hath the force of the king of Syria escaped out of thy hand.
8 கூஷியர்களும், லிபியர்களும் எண்ணற்ற தேர்களுடனும், குதிரைவீரர்களுடனும் வலிய இராணுவவீரர்களாய் இருக்கவில்லையோ? அப்படியிருந்தும் நீ யெகோவாமேல் நம்பிக்கை வைத்தபோது, அவர் உன் கையில் அவர்களை ஒப்புக்கொடுத்தாரே.
Were not, the Ethiopians and the Lybians, a huge host, with chariots and horsemen exceeding many? yet, because thou didst lean upon Yahweh, he delivered them into thy hand.
9 ஏனெனில் இருதயத்தை முழுவதுமாக அவருக்கு ஒப்புக்கொடுக்கிறவர்களைப் பெலப்படுத்தும்படி, யெகோவாவினுடைய கண்களோ பூமியெங்கும் உலாவுகிறது. நீ மூடத்தனமானதைச் செய்திருக்கிறாய். ஆனபடியினால் இன்றுமுதல் நீ யுத்தங்களை சந்திப்பாய்” என்று சொன்னான்.
For, as touching Yahweh, [seeing that], his eyes, are ever running to and fro throughout all the earth, to shew himself strong with them who are perfect toward himself, thou hast made thyself foolish over this, —for, from henceforth, there shall be with thee—wars.
10 இதனால் ஆசா தரிசனக்காரனுடன் கோபங்கொண்டான்; அவன்மேல் ஆசா மிகவும் கோபங்கொண்டதனால் அவனைச் சிறையில் அடைத்தான். அந்த நாளிலேயே ஆசா சில மக்களையும் மிகக் கொடுமையாக ஒடுக்கினான்.
Then was Asa angry with the seer, and put him in the house of the stocks, for he was in a rage with him, over this, —and Asa oppressed some of the people, at that time.
11 ஆசாவின் ஆட்சிக் காலத்தின் தொடக்கமுதல் முடிவுவரை உள்ள நிகழ்வுகள் இஸ்ரயேல், யூதா அரசர்களின் புத்தகத்தில் அல்லவோ எழுதப்பட்டுள்ளன.
But lo! the story of Asa, first and last, there it is, written in the book of the kings of Judah and Israel.
12 அவனுடைய ஆட்சியின் முப்பத்தொன்பதாம் வருடத்தில் ஆசா தனது கால்களில் ஏற்பட்ட வியாதியினால் வேதனைப்பட்டான். அவனுடைய வியாதி கடுமையானதாய் இருந்தும், அவன் தனது வியாதியிலும்கூட யெகோவாவின் உதவியைத் தேடவில்லை. ஆனால் வைத்தியரின் உதவியை மட்டும் தேடினான்.
And Asa became diseased—in the thirty-ninth year of his reign—in his feet, exceedingly severe, was his disease, —yet, even in his disease, he sought not Yahweh, but unto physicians.
13 அதன்பின் தனது ஆட்சியின் நாற்பத்தோராவது வருடத்தில் ஆசா தன் முற்பிதாக்களைப்போல இறந்துபோனான்.
And Asa slept with his fathers, —yea he died in the forty-first year of his reign;
14 அவர்கள் ஆசாவை தாவீதின் நகரத்தில் தனக்கென அவன் வெட்டி வைத்திருந்த கல்லறையில் அடக்கம்பண்ணினார்கள். அவர்கள் நறுமணப் பொருட்களினாலும், பலவிதமான தைலங்களினாலும் நிறைந்த பாடையில் அவனைக் கிடத்தினார்கள். அவர்கள் அவனைக் கனப்படுத்துவதற்காக பெரும் நெருப்பை வளர்த்தனர்.
and they buried him in his own stately sepulchre, which he had hewn for himself in the city of David, and laid him on a couch which was full of sweet spices—yea of various kinds, made by the perfumer’s art, —and they burned for him with an exceeding great burning.
