2 நாளாகமம் 11
1 ரெகொபெயாம் எருசலேமை வந்தடைந்தபோது, யூதா, பென்யமீன் குடும்பத்தில் 1,80,000 போர்வீரரை ஒன்றுகூட்டினான். இஸ்ரயேலுக்கு எதிராகப் போரிட்டு முழு அரசையும் தனது ஆட்சிக்குட்படுத்தவே அவர்கள் திரட்டப்பட்டனர்.
And Roboam came to Jerusalem, and called together all the house of Juda and of Benjamin, a hundred and fourscore thousand chosen men and warriors, to fight against Israel, and to bring back his kingdom to him.
2 ஆனால் இறைவனின் மனிதன் செமாயாவுக்கு இந்த யெகோவாவின் வார்த்தை வந்தது:
And the word of the Lord came to Semeias the man of God, saying:
3 “நீ யூதாவின் அரசனான சாலொமோனின் மகன் ரெகொபெயாமுக்கும், யூதாவிலும் பென்யமீனிலுமுள்ள எல்லா இஸ்ரயேலருக்கும் சொல்லவேண்டியதாவது:
Speak to Roboam the son of Solomon the king of Juda, and to all Israel, in Juda and Benjamin:
4 ‘யெகோவா சொல்வது இதுவே: உங்கள் சக இஸ்ரயேலர்களுக்கு எதிராக யுத்தம்செய்யப் போகவேண்டாம். இது எனது செயல்; நீங்கள் ஒவ்வொருவரும் வீட்டிற்குத் திரும்புங்கள் என்று யெகோவா சொல்கிறார்’” என்றான். எனவே அவர்கள் யெகோவாவின் வார்த்தைக்குக் கீழ்ப்படிந்து, யெரொபெயாமுக்கு எதிராக அணிவகுத்துச் செல்வதைவிட்டுத் திரும்பிப் போய்விட்டார்கள்.
Thus saith the Lord: You shall not go up, nor fight against your brethren: let every man return to his own house, for by my will this thing has been done. And when they heard the word of the Lord, they returned, and did not go against Jeroboam,
5 ரெகொபெயாம் எருசலேமில் வாழ்ந்து, யூதாவில் பாதுகாப்பிற்கென பட்டணங்களைக் கட்டினான்.
And Roboam dwelt in Jerusalem, and built walled cities in Juda.
6 பெத்லெகேம், ஏத்தாம், தெக்கோவா,
And he built Bethlehem, and Etam, and Thecue,
7 பெத்சூர், சோக்கோ, அதுல்லாம்,
And Bethsur, and Socho, and Odollam,
8 காத், மரேஷா, சீப்,
And Geth, and Maresa, and Ziph,
9 அதோராயீம், லாகீசு, அசேக்கா,
And Aduram, and Lachis, and Azecha,
10 சோரா, ஆயலோன், எப்ரோன் ஆகிய அரணான பட்டணங்களை பென்யமீனிலும் யூதாவிலும் கட்டினான்.
Saraa also, and Aialon, and Hebron, which are in Juda and Benjamin, well fenced cities.
11 அவன் அங்குள்ள பாதுகாப்புகளைப் பலப்படுத்தி, அவற்றிற்கு தளபதிகளை நியமித்தான். அவர்களுக்கான உணவையும், ஒலிவ எண்ணெயையும், திராட்சை இரசத்தையும் கொடுத்தான்.
And when he had enclosed them with walls, he put in them governors and storehouses of provisions, that is, of oil and of wine.
12 அவன் எல்லாப் பட்டணங்களிலும் கேடயங்களையும், ஈட்டிகளையும் வைத்து அவற்றை மிகவும் பலப்படுத்தினான். அப்படியே யூதாவும், பென்யமீனும் அவனுடையதாயிற்று.
Moreover in every city he made an armoury of shields and spears, and he fortified them with great diligence, and he reigned over Juda, and Benjamin,
13 இஸ்ரயேல் எங்குமுள்ள ஆசாரியரும், லேவியர்களும் அவர்களுடைய எல்லைகளிலிருந்து அவனுக்கு ஆதரவு வழங்கினர்.
And the priests and Levites, that were in all Israel, came to him out of all their seats,
14 லேவியர் யெகோவாவுக்கு ஆசாரிய ஊழியஞ்செய்யாதபடிக்கு யெரொபெயாமும் அவன் மகன்களும் புறக்கணித்ததால், தங்கள் விளைச்சல் நிலங்களையும், சொத்துக்களையும்விட்டு யூதாவுக்கும் எருசலேமுக்கும் வந்தார்கள்.
Leaving their suburbs, and their possessions, and passing over to Juda, and Jerusalem, because Jeroboam and his sons had cast them off, from executing the priestly office to the Lord.
15 ஆனால் யெரொபெயாம் தான் செய்திருந்த வழிபாட்டு மேடைகளுக்கும், ஆடு, கன்றுக்குட்டி விக்கிரகங்களுக்குமென தனது சொந்த ஆசாரியர்களை நியமித்தான்.
And he made to himself priests for the high places, and for the devils, and for the calves which he had made.
16 இஸ்ரயேலர் ஒவ்வொரு கோத்திரத்திலிருந்தும் இஸ்ரயேலின் இறைவனாகிய யெகோவாவைத் தேடவேண்டும் எனத் தங்கள் இருதயத்தில் நினைத்தவர்கள், தங்கள் முற்பிதாக்களின் இறைவனாகிய யெகோவாவுக்கு பலி செலுத்துவதற்கென லேவியர்களைப் பின்பற்றி எருசலேமுக்குப் போனார்கள்.
Moreover out of all the tribes of Israel, whosoever gave their heart to seek the Lord the God of Israel, came into Jerusalem to sacrifice their victims before the Lord the God of their fathers.
17 இவ்வாறு அவர்கள் மூன்று வருடங்கள் சாலொமோனின் மகனான ரெகொபெயாமுக்கு உதவிசெய்து, யூதாவின் அரசாட்சியை நிலைநிறுத்திப் பெலப்படுத்தினார்கள்; இந்த மூன்று வருடங்களும் அவர்கள் தாவீது, சாலொமோன் நடந்த வழிகளில் நடந்தார்கள்.
And they strengthened the kingdom of Juda, and established Roboam the son of Solomon for three years: for they walked in the ways of David and of Solomon, only three years.
18 ரெகொபெயாம் மகலாத்தைத் திருமணம் செய்தான். இவள் தாவீதின் மகன் எரிமோத்திற்கும் ஈசாயின் மகனான எலியாபின் மகள் அபியாயேலுக்கும் பிறந்தவள்.
And Roboam took to wife Mahalath, the daughter of Jerimoth the son of David: and Abihail the daughter of Eliab the son of Isai.
19 மகலாத் அவனுக்கு எயூஸ், ஷெமரியா, சாகாம் என்னும் மகன்களைப் பெற்றாள்.
And they bore him sons Jehus, and Somorias, and Zoom.
20 பின்பு அவன் அப்சலோமின் மகளான மாக்காளைத் திருமணம் செய்தான். அவள் அவனுக்கு அபியா, அத்தாய், சீசா, செலோமித் ஆகியோரைப் பெற்றாள்.
And after her he married Maacha the daughter of Absalom, who bore him Abia and Ethai, and Ziza, and Salomith.
21 ரெகொபெயாம் தனது மற்ற மனைவியரையும், வைப்பாட்டிகள் எவரையும்விட, அப்சலோமின் மகளான மாக்காள்மீதே அன்பாயிருந்தான். அவனுக்கு எல்லாமாக மொத்தம் பதினெட்டு மனைவிகளும், அறுபது வைப்பாட்டிகளும், இருபத்தெட்டு மகன்களும், அறுபது மகள்களும் இருந்தார்கள்.
And Roboam loved Maacha the daughter of Absalom above all his wives, and concubines: for he had married eighteen wives, and threescore concubines: and he beget eight and twenty sons, and threescore daughters.
22 ரெகொபெயாம் மாக்காளின் மகன் அபியாவை அரசனாக்கும்படி, அவனுடைய சகோதரருக்குள் முதன்மையான இளவரசனாக்கினான்; அவனையே அரசனாக்க வேண்டுமென்றிருந்தான்.
But he put at the head of them Abia the son of Maacha to be the chief ruler over all his brethren: for he meant to make him king,
23 அவன் ஞானமாய் நடந்து, தன் மகன்களில் சிலரை பென்யமீன், யூதா நாடுகளெங்குமுள்ள அரணுள்ள பட்டணங்களில் பிரிந்து பரவலாய் இருக்கச்செய்தான். அவன் அவர்களுக்கு ஏராளமான உணவுப் பொருட்களையும், அவர்களுக்கென அநேக மனைவிகளையும் கொடுத்தான்.
Because he was wiser and mightier than all his sons, and in all the countries of Juda, and of Benjamin, and in all the walled cities: and he gave them provisions in abundance, and he sought many wives.
