1 தீமோத்தேயு 4

1 பரிசுத்த ஆவியானவர் தெளிவாகச் சொல்வது இதுவே: கடைசிக் காலங்களில் சிலர் விசுவாசத்தைக் கைவிட்டு, வஞ்சிக்கும் ஆவிகளையும், பிசாசுகளின் போதனைகளையும் பின்பற்றுவார்கள்.

Now the Spirit says explicitly that in later times some will fall away from the faith, paying attention to deceiving spirits and to things taught by demons

2 இப்படியான போதனைகள், வேஷதாரிகளான பொய்யர்களின் வழியாகவே வருகின்றன. அவர்களுடைய மனசாட்சிகளோ சூடுபட்டும், சுரணையற்றுப் போவார்கள்.

—through hypocritical liars whose own consciences have been cauterized,

3 அவர்களோ திருமணம் செய்யவேண்டாம் எனவும், குறிப்பிட்ட சில உணவு வகைகளைச் சாப்பிடவேண்டாம் எனவும் கட்டளையிடுகிறார்கள்; ஆனால் விசுவாசிக்கிறவர்களும், சத்தியத்தை அறிந்திருக்கிறவர்களும் நன்றி செலுத்துதலோடு அனுபவிக்கும்படியே, இறைவன் அவற்றை உண்டாக்கியிருக்கிறார்.

who forbid to marry and to eat foods that God created to be received with thanksgiving by those who believe and really know the truth.

4 ஏனெனில் இறைவன் படைத்ததெல்லாம் நல்லதே, அவற்றை நன்றி செலுத்துதலோடு நாம் ஏற்றுக்கொண்டால், ஒன்றும் புறக்கணிக்கப்பட வேண்டியவையல்ல.

For every creature of God is good, and nothing is to be rejected if it is received with thanksgiving,

5 ஏனெனில், இவை இறைவனுடைய வார்த்தையினாலும், நமது மன்றாட்டினாலும் பரிசுத்தமாக்கப்படுகின்றன.

because it is consecrated through the Word of God and prayer.

6 இக்காரியங்களைச் சகோதரருக்கு எடுத்துக் கூறினால், நீ கைக்கொண்ட விசுவாசத்தின் வார்த்தைகளிலும், நல்ல போதனைகளிலும் வளர்ச்சிப்பெற்ற கிறிஸ்து இயேசுவின் ஒரு நல்ல ஊழியனாயிருப்பாய்.

If you instruct the brothers in these things you will be a good servant of Jesus Christ, brought up in the words of the faith and of the good doctrine that you have faithfully followed.

7 பக்தியில்லாதவர்களின் கற்பனைக் கதைகளிலும், கிழவிகளின் கட்டுக்கதைகளிலும் நீ சம்பந்தப்படாமல்; இறை பக்தியுள்ளவனாய் இருக்க உன்னைப் பயிற்சி செய்.

But reject godless myths and old-wives' tales; rather, exercise yourself toward godliness.

8 உடற்பயிற்சி ஓரளவு பயனுள்ளதே. ஆனால் இறை பக்தியாயிருப்பது எல்லாவற்றிற்கும் மிகப் பயனுள்ளது. அந்த பக்தி தற்போதைய வாழ்வுக்கும், வருங்கால வாழ்வுக்கும் உதவும் வாக்குறுதியைக் கொண்டிருக்கிறது.

Now physical exercise has some value, but godliness has value in all things, holding promises for both this present life and the one to come.

9 இந்த வார்த்தை எல்லோரும் ஏற்றுக்கொள்ளக்கூடிய நம்பத் தகுந்ததாயிருக்கிறது.

Here is a trustworthy word, worthy of total acceptance

10 எல்லா மனிதர்களுக்கும், விசேஷமாக விசுவாசிகளுக்கு இரட்சகரான ஜீவனுள்ள இறைவனில் நாம் நமது எதிர்பார்ப்பை வைத்திருக்கிறோம். இதற்காகத்தான் நாம் கடுமையாக பாடுபட்டு முயற்சிக்கிறோம்.

(which is also why we labor and suffer reproach): We have set our hope on the living God, who is ‘Savior of all men’, especially of those who believe.

11 இந்தக் காரியங்களை நீ போதித்துக் கட்டளையிடு.

Command and teach these things.

12 நீ வாலிபனாய் இருப்பதால், உன்னை யாரும் தாழ்வாக எண்ண இடங்கொடாதே. அதனால் உன் பேச்சிலும், நடத்தையிலும், அன்பிலும், விசுவாசத்திலும், தூய வாழ்விலும், விசுவாசிகளுக்கு முன்மாதிரியாக இரு.

Let no one look down on your youthfulness, but be an example to the believers in word, in conduct, in love, in spirit, in faith, in purity.

13 நான் வரும்வரைக்கும் நீ திருச்சபையில் வேதவசனங்கள் வாசிப்பதிலும், பிரசங்கம் செய்வதிலும், போதிப்பதிலும் உன் கவனத்தை ஈடுபடுத்து.

Until I come give attention to public reading [of Scripture], to exhortation, to teaching.

14 சபைத்தலைவர்களின் குழு உன்மேல் தங்கள் கைகளை வைத்தபோது, இறைவாக்கின் மூலமாக உனக்குக் கொடுக்கப்பட்ட வரத்தை அலட்சியம் செய்யாதே.

Do not neglect the gift that is in you, which was ‘given’ to you through prophecy with the laying on of the hands of the body of elders.

15 இந்தக் காரியங்களில் கவனத்தைச் செலுத்து; அவைகளுக்கு உன்னை முழுமையாக ஒப்புக்கொடு. அப்போது எல்லோரும் உன் முன்னேற்றத்தைத் தெளிவாய் காண்பார்கள்.

Cultivate these things; give yourself wholly to them, so that your progress may be evident to all.

16 உன் வாழ்க்கை முறையைப் பற்றியும், உபதேசத்தைப் பற்றியும் மிகக் கவனமாயிரு. நீ அவைகளில் நிலைத்திரு, நீ அப்படியிருந்தால் உன்னையும் உனக்குச் செவிகொடுப்பவர்களையும் நீ இரட்சித்துக்கொள்வாய்.

Take pains with yourself and the doctrine; persevere in those things, because by doing so you will save both yourself and those who hear you.
