1 தீமோத்தேயு 2
1 எல்லாவற்றையும்விட முதலாவதாக, ஒவ்வொருவருக்காகவும் விண்ணப்பம் செய்யுங்கள்; மன்றாடுங்கள்; பரிந்துபேசுங்கள்; நன்றி செலுத்துங்கள். இதையே நான் உங்களிடம் வற்புறுத்திக் கேட்கிறேன்.
Now I exhort, first of all, that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all men;
2 அரசர்களுக்காகவும், அதிகாரத்தில் உள்ள எல்லோருக்காகவும் மன்றாடுங்கள். அப்பொழுதே நாம் இறை பக்தியும், பரிசுத்தமும் உள்ளவர்களாய் சமாதானமும் அமைதியும் உள்ள வாழ்வை வாழலாம்.
for kings, and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.
3 இது நன்மையானதாகவும், நமது இரட்சகராகிய இறைவனுக்குப் பிரியமுமாயிருக்கிறது.
For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour,
4 அவர் எல்லா மனிதரும் இரட்சிக்கப்படவேண்டும் என்றும், சத்தியத்தைப் பற்றிய அறிவை அடையவேண்டும் என்றும் இறைவன் விரும்புகிறார்.
who wills all men to be saved, and to come to an acknowledgment of the truth.
5 ஏனெனில் இறைவன் ஒருவரே. இறைவனுக்கும் மனிதருக்கும் இடையில் இருக்கும் நடுவரும் ஒருவரே. மனிதனாக வந்த கிறிஸ்து இயேசுவே அந்த நடுவர்.
For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, --the man Christ Jesus,
6 இயேசு எல்லா மனிதர்களையும் மீட்கும் பொருளாகத் தன்னையே ஒப்படைத்தார். இதுவே ஏற்றகாலத்தில் கொடுக்கப்பட்ட சாட்சியம்.
who gave himself a ransom for all; --of which the testimony is in its proper season:
7 இந்த சாட்சியத்திற்காகவே நான் அறிவிப்பவனாகவும், அப்போஸ்தலனாகவும், அத்துடன் யூதரல்லாதவருக்கு விசுவாசத்தைக் போதிக்கும் உண்மையான ஒரு ஆசிரியனாகவும் நியமிக்கப்பட்டேன்; நான் பொய்யையல்ல, உண்மையைச் சொல்லுகிறேன்.
for which I was appointed a herald and an Apostle, (I speak the truth, I do not falsify, ) a teacher to the Gentiles in faith and truth.
8 எனவே எல்லா இடங்களிலும் உள்ள ஆண்கள் கோபம் கொள்ளாதவர்களாயும், வாக்குவாதம் செய்யாதவர்களாயும், பரிசுத்த கைகளை உயர்த்தி மன்றாட வேண்டும் என்று, நான் விரும்புகிறேன்.
I will, therefore, that the men pray everywhere, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and disputings.
9 அவ்வாறு, பெண்கள் அடக்கமாய் உடை உடுத்தவேண்டும் என்று நான் விரும்புகிறேன். ஒழுக்கமான, தகுதியுடைய உடைகளையே உடுத்தவேண்டும். தலைமுடி அலங்காரத்தினாலோ, தங்கத்தினாலோ, முத்துக்களினாலோ, விலை உயர்ந்த உடைகளினாலோ தங்களை அலங்கரித்து அழகுபடுத்தாமல்,
I like manner also, that the women adorn themselves in decent apparel, with modesty and sobriety, not with plaited hair, or gold, or pearls, or costly raiment:
10 இறைவனை ஆராதிக்கின்ற பெண்களுக்கேற்றபடி நல்ல செயல்களினால் தங்களை அலங்கரிக்கவேண்டும்.
but (which becomes women professing godliness, ) with good works.
11 ஒரு பெண் அமைதலுடனும் முழுமையான பணிவுடனும் இருந்து கற்றுக்கொள்ள வேண்டும்.
Let a woman learn in silence with all submission:
12 ஒரு பெண் போதிப்பதையோ, ஆணுக்கு மேலாக அதிகாரம் செலுத்துவதையோ, நான் அனுமதிப்பதில்லை. அவள் அமைதியாயிருக்க வேண்டும்.
for I do not allow a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over a man, but to be silent;
13 ஏனெனில் முதலாவது ஆதாமே உருவாக்கப்பட்டான். அதற்குப் பின்பே, ஏவாள் உருவாக்கப்பட்டாள்.
for Adam was first formed, then Eve.
14 ஏமாற்றப்பட்டவன் ஆதாம் அல்ல; பெண்ணே ஏமாற்றப்பட்டு, பாவத்திற்கு இடம் கொடுத்தாள்.
Besides, Adam was not deceived: but the woman, being deceived, was in transgression.
15 ஆனால் பெண்கள் விசுவாசத்திலும், அன்பிலும், பரிசுத்தத்திலும் நிலைத்திருந்தால், பிள்ளைப்பெறுவதினாலே அவர்கள் இரட்சிக்கப்படுவார்கள்.
However, she shall be saved through child-bearing, if they live in faith, and love, and holiness, with sobriety.
