1 தெசலோனிக்கேயர் 5
1 இப்பொழுதும் பிரியமானவர்களே, இவை நிகழும் காலங்களையும் வேளைகளையும் குறித்து, நாங்கள் உங்களுக்கு எழுதவேண்டியதில்லை.
But of the times and the seasons, my brethren, you need not that I write to you;
2 ஏனெனில் கர்த்தருடைய நாள் இரவில் திருடன் வருகிறதைப்போலவே வரும் என்று நீங்கள் நன்றாய் அறிந்திருக்கிறீர்களே.
for you truly know that the day of our Lord as a thief in the night so cometh.
3 “சமாதானமும் பாதுகாப்பும்” உண்டு என்று மக்கள் சொல்லிக்கொண்டிருக்கையில், ஒரு கர்ப்பவதியான பெண்ணுக்கு பிரசவவேதனை வருவதுபோல, திடீரென அவர்கள்மேல் பேராபத்து வரும். அவர்கள் தப்பித்துக்கொள்ள முடியாது.
While they shall be saying, Peace and tranquillity, then unawares will destruction arise against them, as distress upon the child-bearer, and they shall not escape.
4 ஆனால் பிரியமானவர்களே, நீங்கள் இருளில் இருக்கிறவர்கள் இல்லை. ஆதலால், அந்நாள் ஒரு திருடனைப்போல் வந்து உங்களை வியப்பிற்குள்ளாக்காது.
But you, my brethren, are not in darkness, that that day as a thief should overtake you.
5 நீங்கள் எல்லோரும் வெளிச்சத்தின் பிள்ளைகளும் பகலின் பிள்ளைகளுமாய் இருக்கிறீர்கள். நாம் இரவுக்கோ, இருளுக்கோ உரியவர்களல்ல.
For all of you are sons of light, and sons of the day; and are not sons of the night, nor sons of darkness.
6 ஆகவே நாம் தூங்குகிற மற்றவர்களைப்போல் இருக்காமல், விழிப்புடனும் தன்னடக்கத்துடனும் இருப்போமாக.
Sleep we not, therefore, as the rest; but be wakeful and sober.
7 ஏனெனில் நித்திரை செய்கிறவர்கள் இரவில் நித்திரை செய்கிறார்கள். மதுவெறி கொள்கிறவர்கள் இரவிலே வெறிகொள்கிறார்கள்.
For they who sleep, in the night sleep; and they who are drunken, in the night are drunken.
8 ஆனால் நாமோ பகலுக்குரியவர்களாய் இருக்கிறபடியால் தன்னடக்கத்துடன் இருந்து, விசுவாசத்தையும் அன்பையும் மார்புக்கவசமாக அணிந்துகொள்வோம். இரட்சிப்பைப் பற்றிய எதிர்பார்ப்பை தலைக்கவசமாய் அணிந்துகொள்வோம்.
But we who are sons of the day must be wakeful in our minds, and wear the mail-coat of faith and of love, and put on the helmet of the hope of salvation.
9 ஏனெனில் இறைவன் நம்மை தமது கோபத்தின் தண்டனையைப் பெறுவதற்காக நியமிக்கவில்லை. நம்முடைய கர்த்தராகிய இயேசுகிறிஸ்துவின் வழியாக இரட்சிப்பைப் பெறவே நியமித்திருக்கிறார்.
For Aloha hath not appointed us to wrath, but to the possession of salvation in our Lord Jeshu Meshiha,
10 நாம் உயிருடன் இருந்தாலும், மரண நித்திரை அடைந்தாலும் கிறிஸ்துவுடன் ஒன்றாய் வாழும்படியாக, அவர் நமக்காக இறந்தார்.
who died on our behalf, that, whether we wake or sleep, together with him we may live.
11 ஆகையால் நீங்கள் இப்பொழுது செய்கிறதுபோலவே, ஒருவரையொருவர் உற்சாகப்படுத்தி, ஒருவருக்கொருவர் மற்றவர்களின் ஆவிக்குரிய வளர்ச்சிக்கு உதவுங்கள்.
Wherefore comfort one another, and edify one another, as also you do.
12 பிரியமானவர்களே, இப்பொழுதும் நாங்கள் உங்களைக் கேட்டுக்கொள்கிறதாவது, உங்களிடையே கஷ்டப்பட்டு வேலை செய்கிறவர்களாக, கர்த்தரில் உங்கள் மேற்பார்வையாளராய் இருந்து, உங்களுக்குப் புத்திமதி சொல்கிறவர்களை மதித்து நடவுங்கள்.
BUT I entreat of you, my brethren, to know them who labour among you, and stand before your faces teaching you,
13 அவர்களுடைய வேலையின் நிமித்தம் அவர்களில் அன்பு செலுத்தி, அவர்களுக்கு மிக உயர்ந்த மதிப்பைக் கொடுங்கள். ஒருவரோடொருவர் சமாதானமாய் வாழுங்கள்.
that they be esteemed by you in abundant love; and on account of their work be at peace with them.
14 பிரியமானவர்களே, நாங்கள் உங்களிடம் வேண்டிக்கொள்கிறதாவது, சோம்பலாய் இருக்கிறவர்களை எச்சரியுங்கள். பயந்த சுபாவமுடையவர்களை உற்சாகப்படுத்துங்கள். பலவீனமானவர்களுக்கு உதவிசெய்யுங்கள். எல்லோருடனும் பொறுமையோடு நடந்துகொள்ளுங்கள்.
And I entreat of you, my brethren, (to) admonish the offenders, and encourage the little of soul, and bear the burden of the weak, and prolong your spirit toward every man.
15 ஒருவரும் தீமையான செயலுக்குப் பதிலாக இன்னொரு தீமையான செயலை செய்யாதபடி கவனமாயிருங்கள். ஆனால் எப்பொழுதும் ஒவ்வொருவருக்கும் மற்ற எல்லோருக்கும் நன்மை செய்யவே முயற்சி செய்யுங்கள்.
And beware, lest any of you evil render for evil; but always follow after (those things which are) good (pl.) toward one another, and toward every man.
16 எப்பொழுதும் மகிழ்ச்சியாய் இருங்கள்.
Be joyful always,
17 இடைவிடாது மன்றாடுங்கள்.
and pray without ceasing,
18 எல்லாவித சூழ்நிலையிலும் நன்றி செலுத்துங்கள்; இதுவே கிறிஸ்து இயேசுவில் உங்களுக்கான இறைவனின் சித்தம்.
and in every thing give thanks; for this is the will of Aloha in Jeshu Meshiha concerning you.
19 ஆவியானவரின் அனலை அணைத்துப் போடாதிருங்கள்.
The Spirit quench not.
20 சொல்லப்படுகின்ற இறைவாக்கை அலட்சியம் செய்யவேண்டாம்.
Prophecy do not despise.
21 எல்லாவற்றையும் சோதித்துப் பார்த்து, நல்லதைப் பற்றிக்கொள்ளுங்கள்.
Prove every thing, and what is good retain.
22 எல்லா விதமான தீயசெயல்களையும் விட்டு விலகியிருங்கள்.
And from every evil thing flee.
23 சமாதானத்தின் இறைவன் தாமே முற்றிலுமாய் உங்களைப் பரிசுத்தப்படுத்துவாராக. நம்முடைய கர்த்தராகிய இயேசுகிறிஸ்து வரும்போது, உங்களுடைய ஆவி, ஆத்துமா, உடல் முழுவதும் குற்றமற்றதாய் காக்கப்படுவதாக.
But the God of peace himself will sanctify perfectly all of you; and your whole spirit, and your soul, and your body will he keep without fault, to the coming of our Lord Jeshu Meshiha.
24 உங்களை அழைத்த இறைவன் உண்மையுள்ளவர், அவர் அப்படியே செய்வார்.
Faithful is he who hath called you, who himself will do it!
25 பிரியமானவர்களே, எங்களுக்காக மன்றாடுங்கள்.
My brethren, pray for us.
26 எல்லா சகோதரரையும் பரிசுத்த முத்தம் கொடுத்து வாழ்த்துங்கள்.
Ask the peace of all our brethren, with the holy kiss.
27 இந்தக் கடிதத்தை எல்லா சகோதரருக்கும் வாசித்துக் காண்பிக்கும்படி, கர்த்தருக்கு முன்பாக உங்களுக்குக் கட்டளையிடுகிறேன்.
I adjure you, by our Lord, that this epistle be read to all the holy brethren.
28 நமது கர்த்தராகிய இயேசுகிறிஸ்துவின் கிருபை உங்களுடனேகூட இருப்பதாக. ஆமென்.
The grace of our Lord Jeshu Meshiha be with you. Amen.
