1 சாமுவேல் 28
1 அக்காலத்தில் இஸ்ரயேல் மக்களை எதிர்த்துப் போரிடும்படி பெலிஸ்தியர் படை திரட்டினார்கள். அப்பொழுது ஆகீஸ் தாவீதிடம், “நீயும் உனது மனிதரும் எனது படைவீரருடன் சேர்ந்து வரவேண்டும் என்பதை அறிந்துகொள்” என்றான்.
And it comes to pass in those days, that the Philistines gather their camps for the war, to fight against Israel, and Achish says to David, “You certainly know that you go out with me into the camp, you and your men.”
2 அதற்குத் தாவீது, “உம்முடைய அடியவனால் என்ன செய்யமுடியும் என்பதை நீர் அறிந்துகொள்வீர்” என்றான். எனவே தாவீதிடம் ஆகீஸ், “மிக நல்லது, உன்னை என் வாழ்நாள் முழுவதும் என் மெய்க்காவலனாக்குவேன்” என்றான்.
And David says to Achish, “Therefore you know that which your servant does.” And Achish says to David, “Therefore I appoint you keeper of my head [for] all the days.”
3 அந்நாட்களில் சாமுயேல் இறந்திருந்தான். முழு இஸ்ரயேலரும் அவனுக்காகத் துக்கங்கொண்டாடி அவனுடைய சொந்த பட்டணமான ராமாவிலே அவனை அடக்கம்பண்ணியிருந்தார்கள். சவுல் குறிசொல்லுகிறவர்களையும், ஆவியுடன் தொடர்புடையோரையும் தேசத்தில் இல்லாதபடித் துரத்திவிட்டிருந்தான்.
And Samuel has died, and all Israel mourns for him, and buries him in Ramah, even in his city, and Saul has turned aside those having familiar spirits, and the wizards, out of the land.
4 பெலிஸ்தியரும் ஒன்றுகூடி வந்து சூனேமிலே முகாமிட்டிருந்தார்கள். அப்பொழுது சவுல் இஸ்ரயேல் அனைவரையும் ஒன்றுசேர்த்து கில்போவாவிலே முகாமிட்டிருந்தான்.
And the Philistines are gathered, and come in, and encamp in Shunem, and Saul gathers all Israel, and they encamp in Gilboa,
5 சவுல் பெலிஸ்தியரின் இராணுவத்தைக் கண்டவுடன் பயந்தான். அவனுடைய மனம் திகிலடைந்தது.
and Saul sees the camp of the Philistines, and fears, and his heart trembles greatly,
6 சவுல் யெகோவாவிடம் விசாரித்தான். ஆனால் அவர் கனவுகளினாலோ, ஊரீமினாலோ, இறைவாக்கினராலோ அவனுக்குப் பதில் கொடுக்கவில்லை.
and Saul inquires of YHWH, and YHWH has not answered him, either by the dreams, or by the Lights, or by the prophets.
7 எனவே சவுல் தன் வேலையாட்களிடம், “நான் போய் விசாரிக்கும்படி, நீங்கள் போய் குறிசொல்லுகிற ஒருத்தியைத் தேடிப் பாருங்கள்” என்றான். அதற்கு அவர்கள், “எந்தோரிலே ஒருத்தி இருக்கிறாள்” என்றார்கள்.
And Saul says to his servants, “Seek a woman for me possessing a familiar spirit, and I go to her, and inquire of her”; and his servants say to him, “Behold, a woman possessing a familiar spirit [is] in En-dor.”
8 எனவே சவுல் மாறுவேடம் தரித்து, அன்றிரவு அவனும் அவனோடு இரண்டு மனிதரும் அந்தப் பெண்ணிடம் போனார்கள். சவுல் அவளிடம், “நீ எனக்காக ஒரு ஆவியை விசாரி. நான் பெயரிடும் ஆவியை எழுந்துவரச் சொல்” என்றான்.
And Saul disguises himself and puts on other garments, and goes, he and two of the men with him, and they come to the woman by night, and he says, “Please divine to me by the familiar spirit, and cause him whom I say to you to come up to me.”
9 அந்தப் பெண்ணோ அவரிடம், “சவுல் செய்தது உமக்குத் தெரியும்தானே. அவன், ஆவியுடன் தொடர்பு கொள்கிறவர்களையும் நாட்டில் இராதபடி செய்திருக்கிறான். அப்படியிருக்க எனக்கு மரணம் ஏற்படும்படி ஏன் என் உயிருக்குக் கண்ணி வைக்கிறீர்” என்று கேட்டாள்.
And the woman says to him, “Behold, you have known that which Saul has done, that he has cut off those having familiar spirits, and the wizards, out of the land; and why are you laying a snare for my soul—to put me to death?”
10 அதற்குச் சவுல், “யெகோவா இருப்பது நிச்சயமெனில், நீ இதற்காகத் தண்டிக்கப்பட மாட்டாய் என்பதும் நிச்சயம்” என யெகோவாவின் பெயரில் ஆணையிட்டான்.
And Saul swears to her by YHWH, saying, “YHWH lives, punishment does not meet you for this thing.”
11 அப்பொழுது அந்தப் பெண் சவுலிடம், “உமக்காக யாரை அழைக்கவேண்டும்” என்றாள். அதற்குச் சவுல், “சாமுயேலை அழைப்பி” என்றான்.
And the woman says, “Whom do I bring up to you?” And he says, “Bring up Samuel to me.”
12 அந்தப் பெண் சாமுயேலைக் கண்டவுடன் உரத்த சத்தமாய்ச் சவுலைக் கூப்பிட்டு, “நீர்தானே சவுல்? ஏன் என்னை ஏமாற்றினீர்?” என்றாள்.
And the woman sees Samuel, and cries with a loud voice, and the woman speaks to Saul, saying, “Why have you deceived me? For you [are] Saul!”
13 அதற்குச் சவுல் அரசன், “பயப்படாதே! உனக்கு என்ன தெரிகிறது?” என்று கேட்டான். அதற்கு அந்தப் பெண், “ஒரு தெய்வ உருவம் நிலத்துக்குள்ளிருந்து எழும்பி வருவது தெரிகிறது” என்றாள்.
And the king says to her, “Do not fear; for what have you seen?” And the woman says to Saul, “I have seen gods coming up out of the earth.”
14 அதற்குச் சவுல், “அதனுடைய தோற்றம் எப்படியிருக்கிறது?” என்று கேட்டான். அதற்கு அவள், “மேலங்கி உடுத்திய வயது முதிர்ந்த ஒருவர் எழும்பி வருகிறார்” என்றாள். அவர் சாமுயேல் எனச் சவுல் அறிந்துகொண்டான். உடனே தரையில் முகங்குப்புற விழுந்து வணங்கினான்.
And he says to her, “What [is] his form?” And she says, “An aged man is coming up, and he [is] covered with an upper robe”; and Saul knows that he [is] Samuel, and bows—face to her earth—and pays respect.
15 அப்பொழுது சாமுயேல் சவுலிடம், “நீ என்னை வெளியே கொண்டுவந்து ஏன் என்னைக் குழப்பினாய்” என்று கேட்டான். அதற்குச் சவுல், “நான் பெரிய ஆபத்திலிருக்கிறேன். பெலிஸ்தியர் எனக்கெதிராக யுத்தம் செய்கிறார்கள். இறைவனோ என்னைவிட்டு விலகிவிட்டார். இறைவாக்கினர் மூலமாகவோ, கனவு மூலமாகவோ அவர் இப்போது எனக்குப் பதிலளிப்பதில்லை. இதனால்தான் நான் என்ன செய்யவேண்டுமென்று அறிவிக்கும்படி உம்மை அழைத்தேன்” என்றான்.
And Samuel says to Saul, “Why have you troubled me, to bring me up?” And Saul says, “I have great distress, and the Philistines are fighting against me, God has turned aside from me, and has not answered me anymore, either by the hand of the prophets, or by dreams; and I call for you to let me know what I [should] do.”
16 அதற்குச் சாமுயேல், “இப்பொழுது யெகோவா உன்னைவிட்டு விலகி உன் பகைவனாய் இருக்கும்போது நீ ஏன் என்னைக் கேட்கிறாய்?
And Samuel says, “And why do you ask me, and YHWH has turned aside from you, and is your enemy?
17 யெகோவா என் மூலமாய் உனக்கு முன்னறிவித்தபடி செய்திருக்கிறார். உன் அரசை உன்னிடமிருந்து பறித்து உன் அயலானான தாவீதுக்குக் கொடுத்துவிட்டார்.
And YHWH does for Himself as He has spoken by my hand, and YHWH tears the kingdom out of your hand, and gives it to your neighbor—to David.
18 நீ யெகோவாவுக்குக் கீழ்ப்படியாமல், அமலேக்கியருக்கு விரோதமான அவருடைய கடுங்கோபத்தினாலான அவரின் தீர்ப்பை நிறைவேற்றவில்லை. அதனால்தான் அவர் இன்று உனக்கு இப்படிச் செய்தார்.
Because you have not listened to the voice of YHWH, nor did the fierceness of His anger on Amalek—therefore YHWH has done this thing to you this day;
19 மேலும் யெகோவா இஸ்ரயேலரையும், உன்னையும் பெலிஸ்தியரிடம் ஒப்படைப்பார். எனவே நாளைக்கு நீயும் உன் மகன்களும் என்னோடு இருப்பீர்கள். இஸ்ரயேலின் இராணுவப் படையையும் பெலிஸ்தியரிடம் ஒப்படைப்பார்” என்றான்.
indeed, YHWH also gives Israel into the hand of the Philistines with you, and tomorrow you and your sons [are] with me; YHWH also gives the camp of Israel into the hand of the Philistines.”
20 சாமுயேல் சொன்னவற்றைக் கேட்டவுடனே சவுல் பயந்து தரையில் முகங்குப்புற விழுந்தான். அவன் அன்று பகலும், இரவும் ஒன்றுமே சாப்பிடாதபடியால் பலவீனமாய் இருந்தான்.
And Saul hurries and falls—the fullness of his stature—to the earth, and fears greatly because of the words of Samuel; also power was not in him, for he had not eaten bread all the day, and all the night.
21 அப்பொழுது சவுல் மிகவும் கலக்கமடைந்திருப்பதைக் கண்ட அந்தப் பெண், “நான் உமக்குக் கீழ்ப்படிந்தேன். என் உயிரைக் கையில் பிடித்துக்கொண்டு நீர் சொன்னபடியே செய்தேன்.
And the woman comes to Saul, and sees that he has been greatly troubled, and says to him, “Behold, your maidservant has listened to your voice, and I put my soul in my hand, and I obey your words which you have spoken to me;
22 இப்பொழுது நீரும் உமது அடியாளுடைய வார்த்தைகளைக் கேட்டு நீர் பயணம் செய்வதற்கு ஏற்ற பெலன் பெறும்படி நான் உமக்குக் கொடுக்கும் உணவைச் சாப்பிடும்” என்றாள்.
and now, please listen, you also, to the voice of your maidservant, and I set a morsel of bread before you; and eat, and there is power in you when you go in the way.”
23 சவுலோ, “நான் சாப்பிடமாட்டேன்” என மறுத்தான். ஆனால் அவன் பணியாட்களும் அவளுடன் சேர்ந்து சவுலை வற்புறுத்தவே அவன் சம்மதித்தான். அவன் நிலத்திலிருந்து எழுந்து ஒரு படுக்கையின்மேல் உட்கார்ந்தான்.
And he refuses and says, “I do not eat”; and his servants urge him on, and also the woman, and he listens to their voice, and rises from the earth, and sits on the bed.
24 அப்பெண்ணின் வீட்டில் கொழுத்த கன்றுக்குட்டி ஒன்று இருந்தது. உடனே அவள் அதைக் கொன்று சமைத்தாள். மாவைப் பிசைந்து புளிப்பில்லாத அப்பங்களைச் சுட்டாள்.
And the woman has a calf of the stall in the house, and she hurries and slaughters it, and takes flour, and kneads, and bakes it [into] unleavened things,
25 அவற்றைச் சவுலுக்கும் அவன் பணியாட்களுக்கும் முன்பாக வைத்தபோது அவர்கள் சாப்பிட்டார்கள், அன்றிரவே அவர்கள் எழுந்து அவ்விடமிருந்து போனார்கள்.
and brings [them] near before Saul, and before his servants, and they eat, and rise, and go on during that night.
