1 பேதுரு 4

1 எனவே, கிறிஸ்து தமது மாம்சத்தில் துன்பத்தை அனுபவித்ததினால், நீங்களும் அதேவிதமான மனநிலை உடையவர்களாய் இருங்கள். ஏனெனில், மாம்சத்தில் துன்பப்படுகிறவர்கள் பாவத்துடனான தொடர்பைத் துண்டித்துக் கொள்கிறார்கள்.

Forasmuch then as Christ hath suffered for us in the flesh, arm yourselves likewise with the same mind: for he that hath suffered in the flesh hath ceased from sin;

2 அதன் பிரதிபலனாகவே, அவர்கள் பூமியில் தொடர்ந்து தாங்கள் வாழும் வாழ்க்கையை, மாம்சத்தில் எழும் தீய ஆசைகளுக்காக வாழ்வதில்லை. இறைவனுடைய சித்தத்தைச் செய்வதற்காகவே, அவர்கள் வாழ்வார்கள்.

That he no longer should live the rest of [his] time in the flesh to the lusts of men, but to the will of God.

3 கடந்த காலத்தில் போதிய அளவு நேரத்தை இறைவனை அறியாத மக்கள் செய்யும் செயல்களில் ஈடுபட்டுக் கழித்தீர்களே! காமவேறிகளிலும், பேராசைகளிலும், மதுவெறியிலும், கேளிக்கைகளிலும், மதுபான விருந்துகளிலும், அருவருப்பான விக்கிரக வழிபாட்டிலும் வாழ்ந்தீர்கள்.

For the time past of [our] life may suffice us to have wrought the will of the Gentiles, when we walked in lasciviousness, lusts, excess of wine, revelings, banquetings, and abominable idolatries:

4 ஆனால் உங்கள் பழைய நண்பர்களோ, நீங்கள் இப்பொழுது தொடர்ந்து அதேவிதமான ஊதாரித்தனம் நிறைந்த வாழ்க்கையில், அவர்களுடன் சேர்ந்து அமிழ்ந்து போகாதிருப்பதைக் கண்டு வியப்படைகிறார்கள். அதனால் அவர்கள் உங்களைக்குறித்து அவதூறாய் பேசுகிறார்கள்.

In which they think it strange that ye run not with [them] to the same excess of riot, speaking evil of [you]:

5 ஆனால் அவர்கள் உயிர் வாழ்கிறவர்களையும் இறந்து போனவர்களையும் நியாயந்தீர்க்க ஆயத்தமாய் இருப்பவருக்கு கணக்குக் கொடுக்கவேண்டும்.

Who shall give account to him that is ready to judge the living and the dead.

6 இதன் காரணமாகவே, இப்பொழுது இறந்துபோனவர்களுக்குங்கூட, அவர்கள் உயிரோடிருக்கையில் நற்செய்தி பிரசங்கிக்கப்பட்டது. அதனால் அவர்களின் உடலைப் பொறுத்தவரையில், எல்லா மனிதருக்கும் ஏற்படுகிற நியாயத்தீர்ப்பின்படி அவர்கள் மரணம் அடைந்திருந்தாலும், ஆவியைப் பொறுத்தவரையில் அவர்கள் இறைவனுடைய சித்தப்படி இன்னும் வாழமுடியும்.

For, for this cause was the gospel preached also to them that are dead, that they might be judged according to men in the flesh, but live according to God in the spirit.

7 எல்லாக் காரியங்களுக்கும் முடிவு நெருங்கிவிட்டது. ஆகையால் நீங்கள் மன்றாடுவதற்கு ஏற்றவாறு மனத்தெளிவுடையவர்களாயும், தன்னடக்கமுடையவர்களாயும் இருங்கள்.

But the end of all things is at hand: be ye therefore sober, and watch to prayer.

8 எல்லாவற்றுக்கும் மேலாக, ஒருவரில் ஒருவர் ஊக்கமான அன்புள்ளவர்களாயிருங்கள். ஏனெனில் அன்பு, அநேக பாவங்களை மூடுகிறது.

And above all things have fervent charity among yourselves: for charity will cover a multitude of sins.

9 முறுமுறுக்காமல் ஒருவரையொருவர் உபசரித்து நடவுங்கள்.

Use hospitality one to another without grudging.

10 நீங்கள் ஒவ்வொருவரும் இறைவனிடமிருந்து பெற்றுக்கொண்ட வரத்தை உபயோகித்து, ஒருவருக்கொருவர் பணிசெய்யுங்கள். இவ்வாறு, வெவ்வேறு விதங்களில் வரும் இறைவனுடைய கிருபையை, உண்மையுடன் நிர்வகிக்கிறவர்களாக இருங்கள்.

As every man hath received the gift, [even so] minister the same one to another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God.

11 பேசுகின்ற வரத்தையுடையவன், இறைவனுடைய சொந்த வார்த்தையைப் பேசுகிறேன் என்றே பேசவேண்டும். ஊழியம் செய்கிறவன் இறைவன் கொடுக்கும் பெலத்தின்படியே அதைச் செய்யவேண்டும். அப்பொழுது எல்லாக் காரியங்களிலும், இயேசுகிறிஸ்துவின் மூலமாக இறைவன் துதிக்கப்படுவார். அவருக்கே மகிமையும் வல்லமையும் என்றென்றும் உண்டாயிருப்பதாக. ஆமென். If any man speaketh [let him speak] as the oracles of God; if any man ministereth [let him do it] as of the ability which God giveth: that God in all things may be glorified through Jesus Christ; to whom be praise and dominion for ever and ever. Amen. (aiōn g165)

12 பிரியமானவர்களே, நீங்கள் அனுபவிக்கும் துன்பங்களைக்குறித்து, ஏதோ விசித்திரமான ஒரு காரியம் உங்களுக்கு ஏற்பட்டுவிட்டதென எண்ணி வியப்படைய வேண்டாம்.

Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened to you:

13 கிறிஸ்துவினுடைய துன்பங்களில் நீங்களும் பங்குகொள்கிறீர்கள் என்று சந்தோஷப்படுங்கள். அப்பொழுது அவருடைய மகிமை வெளிப்படுகையில், நீங்கள் இன்னும் அதிக மகிழ்ச்சியடைவீர்கள்.

But rejoice, seeing ye are partakers of Christ's sufferings; that, when his glory shall be revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy.

14 கிறிஸ்துவின் பெயருக்காக நீங்கள் அவமதிக்கப்பட்டால், நீங்கள் ஆசீர்வதிகப்பட்டவர்கள்; ஏனெனில் இறைவனின் ஆவியானவர் மகிமையுடன் உங்களில் தங்கி வாழ்கிறாரே.

If ye are reproached for the name of Christ, happy [are ye]; for the spirit of glory and of God resteth upon you. On their part he is evil spoken of, but on your part he is glorified.

15 ஆதலால் நீங்கள் ஒரு கொலைகாரனாகவோ, திருடனாகவோ, வேறுவிதமான குற்றம் செய்தவனாகவோ அல்லது தேவையின்றி பிறர் விஷயத்தில் தலையிட்டவனாகவோ துன்பம் அனுபவிக்கக்கூடாது.

But let none of you suffer as a murderer, or [as] a thief, or [as] an evil-doer, or as a busy-body in other men's matters.

16 ஆனால் கிறிஸ்துவைப் பின்பற்றும் காரணத்திற்காக நீங்கள் வேதனையை அனுபவித்தால், அதைக்குறித்து வெட்கமடைய வேண்டாம். அந்தப் பெயருடையவர்களாய் நீங்கள் இருப்பதைக்குறித்து இறைவனைத் துதியுங்கள்.

Yet if [any man suffereth] as a Christian, let him not be ashamed; but let him glorify God on this behalf.

17 ஏனெனில், நியாயத்தீர்ப்பு தொடங்கும் காலம் வந்துவிட்டது. அது இறைவனுடைய குடும்பத்தினரிடமே முதலில் தொடங்கும்; நியாயத்தீர்ப்பு நம்மிடத்தில் தொடங்குமானால், இறைவனுடைய நற்செய்திக்குக் கீழ்ப்படியாதவர்களின் முடிவு என்னவாயிருக்கும்!

For the time [is come] that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if [it] first [beginneth] at us, what will [be] the end of them that obey not the gospel of God?

18 வேதவசனத்தின்படி, “நீதியுள்ளவர்கள் இரட்சிக்கப்படுவது கஷ்டம் என்றால், இறை பக்தியற்றவர்களுக்கும், பாவிகளுக்குமான நிலை என்னவாகும்?”

And if the righteous is scarcely saved, where will the ungodly and the sinner appear?

19 ஆகவே இறைவனுடைய திட்டத்தின்படி துன்பம் அனுபவிக்கிறவர்கள், உண்மையுள்ளவரான தங்களைப் படைத்த இறைவனிடம் தங்களை ஒப்புக்கொடுத்து, தொடர்ந்து நன்மை செய்யவேண்டும்.

Wherefore, let them that suffer according to the will of God, commit the keeping of their souls [to him] in well-doing, as to a faithful Creator.
