1 பேதுரு 3

1 மனைவிகளே, அவ்வாறே நீங்களும் உங்கள் சொந்த கணவருக்கு பணிந்து நடவுங்கள். அப்பொழுது அவர்களில் யாராவது வசனத்தை ஏற்றுக்கொள்ளாதவர்களாய் இருந்தாலும், வசனமில்லாமலே அவர்களின் மனைவியின் நடத்தையினால் ஒருவேளை ஆதாயப்படுத்தக்கூடும்.

Similarly, wives, be submissive to your own husbands, so that even if some are disobedient to the Word, they may be won over, without a word, by the conduct of their wives

2 தூய்மையும் பயபக்தியுமுள்ள உங்களுடைய வாழ்க்கையை அவர்கள் காணட்டும்.

(having watched your pure behavior accompanied by respect),

3 உங்கள் அழகு, வெளி அலங்காரத்தில் தங்கியிருக்கக் கூடாது. தலைமுடியைப் பின்னுதல், தங்க நகைகளை அணிதல், விலையுயர்ந்த உடைகளை உடுத்துதல் ஆகிய வெளியான அலங்காரத்தினாலல்ல.

whose adorning should not be the outward one of braiding hair and wearing gold, or putting on fine clothing,

4 அது உங்கள் உள்ளத்தின் அழகாகவே இருக்கவேண்டும். சாந்தமும் அமைதியும் உள்ள ஆவியே, அழிந்துபோகாத அழகைக் கொடுக்கிறது. அவ்வித அழகே இறைவனின் பார்வையில் உயர்ந்த மதிப்புள்ளது.

but rather the hidden person of the heart, with the incorruptible adorning of the gentle and quiet spirit that is of great value before God.

5 ஏனெனில் இறைவனில் நம்பிக்கையுள்ளவர்களாய், முற்காலத்தில் வாழ்ந்த பரிசுத்த பெண்கள் இவ்விதமாகவே தங்களை அலங்கரித்தார்கள். அவர்கள் தங்கள் சொந்தக் கணவர்களிடம் பணிவுடன் நடந்தார்கள்.

For this is how the holy women who hoped in God in former times also adorned themselves, being submissive to their own husbands,

6 அவ்விதமாகவே சாராள் ஆபிரகாமைத் தனது எஜமான் என்று அழைத்தபோது, அவனுக்குக் கீழ்ப்படிந்து நடந்தாள். நீங்களும் நன்மையானதைப் பயமில்லாமல் செய்தால் அவளுடைய மகள்களாய் இருப்பீர்கள்.

as Sarah obeyed Abraham, calling him ‘lord’, whose (f) daughters you became by doing good and not being afraid of any intimidation.

7 கணவர்களே, அதுபோலவே உங்கள் மனைவியுடன் சரியான புரிந்துகொள்ளுதலோடு, அக்கறையுடன் வாழ்க்கை நடத்துங்கள். அவர்கள் பலவீனமான இயல்புடையவர்களாயும் இறைவனின் கிருபையின் வாழ்வை உங்களுடனேகூட பெற்றுக்கொள்கிறவர்களாயும் இருப்பதனால், அவர்களை மதித்து நடவுங்கள். அப்படிச் செய்தால் உங்கள் மன்றாட்டுகளுக்கு எவ்விதத் தடையும் ஏற்படாது.

Similarly, husbands, live together knowledgeably as with a weaker vessel, according honor to the wife especially as being a joint heir of the grace of life, for your prayers not to be hindered.

8 இறுதியாக, நீங்கள் எல்லோரும் ஒருவரோடொருவர் ஒருமனப்பட்டிருங்கள். இரக்கமுள்ளவர்களாயும், சகோதரரைப்போல் அன்பு காட்டுகிறவர்களாயும் இருங்கள். அனுதாபம் காட்டுங்கள். தாழ்மையுடையவர்களாய் இருங்கள்.

Finally, all of you be like-minded, compassionate, loving as brothers, tenderhearted, courteous,

9 தீமைக்குப் பதிலாக தீமை செய்யவேண்டாம்; ஏளனத்திற்கு பதிலாக ஏளனம் செய்யவேண்டாம். மாறாக, அவர்களை ஆசீர்வதியுங்கள். ஏனெனில் நீங்கள் ஆசீர்வாதத்தை உரிமையாக்கவே அழைக்கப்பட்டீர்கள்.

not returning evil for evil or reviling for reviling, but instead blessing, knowing that you were called to this so that you may inherit a blessing.

10 ஏனெனில் வேதவசனத்தில் சொல்லியிருக்கிறதாவது: “வாழ்வை நேசித்து, நல்ல நாட்களைக் காணவிரும்புகிறவன் எவனோ, அவன் தனது நாவைத் தீமையிலிருந்து விலக்கி, தனது உதடுகளை ஏமாற்றுப் பேச்சுகளிலிருந்தும் காத்துக்கொள்ள வேண்டும்.

For: “The one who wants to love life and to see good days must refrain his tongue from evil and his lips from speaking deceit;

11 அவன் தீமையிலிருந்து விலகி, நன்மை செய்யவேண்டும்; சமாதானத்தைத் தேடி, அதை நாடிச்செல்ல வேண்டும்.

he must turn away from evil and do good; he must seek peace, even pursue it.

12 ஏனெனில், கர்த்தருடைய கண்கள் நீதிமான்கள்மேல் இருக்கின்றன. அவருடைய காதுகள் அவர்களுடைய மன்றாட்டைக் கவனமாய் கேட்கின்றன. ஆனால் கர்த்தருடைய முகமோ தீமை செய்கிறவர்களுக்கு எதிராய் இருக்கிறது.”

Because the eyes of the Lord are upon the righteous, and His ears open to their prayer; but the face of the Lord is against those doing evil.”

13 நீங்கள் நன்மைசெய்ய ஆவலுள்ளவர்களாய் இருந்தால், யார் உங்களுக்குத் தீமை செய்வான்?

Now who is he who will harm you if you become imitators of the good?

14 ஆனால் நீங்கள் நீதியானதைச் செய்வதனால் துன்பத்தை அனுபவித்தாலும், நீங்கள் இறைவனால் ஆசீர்வதிக்கப்படுவீர்கள். எனவே, “அவர்களுடைய பயமுறுத்துதலுக்கு நீங்கள் பயப்படவேண்டாம்; கலக்கமடையவும் வேண்டாம்.”

But even if you should suffer for righteousness' sake, you are blessed. “Do not fear what they fear, neither be troubled.”

15 ஆனால் உங்கள் இருதயங்களில் கிறிஸ்துவை கர்த்தராக ஏற்று, அவரை கனம்பண்ணுங்கள். நீங்கள் கொண்டிருக்கும் நம்பிக்கைக்கான காரணம் என்னவென்று உங்களிடம் கேட்கிற ஒவ்வொருவருக்கும் பதில்சொல்வதற்கு எப்பொழுதும் ஆயத்தமுள்ளவர்களாய் இருங்கள்; ஆனால் தயவுடனும் மதிப்புடனுமே நீங்கள் பதில் சொல்லவேண்டும்.

Rather, sanctify the Lord God in your hearts, and always be ready with an answer for everyone who asks you a reason concerning the hope that is in you, with meekness and respect;

16 நீங்கள் நல்மனசாட்சி உடையவர்களாயும் இருக்கவேண்டும்; அப்பொழுது கிறிஸ்துவில் உங்களுக்கிருக்கும் நல்ல நடத்தைக்கு எதிராக, தீய எண்ணத்துடன் பேசுகிறவர்கள், தங்கள் அவதூறுப் பேச்சைக்குறித்து வெட்கமடைவார்கள்.

keeping a good conscience, so that wherein they speak against you as evildoers, those who revile your good way of life in Christ may be put to shame.

17 தீமை செய்து துன்பப்படுவதைப் பார்க்கிலும், இறைவனுக்கு சித்தமானால் நன்மை செய்து துன்பப்படுவதே சிறந்தது.

For it is better to suffer for doing good, should the will of God so determine, than for doing evil.

18 ஏனெனில், கிறிஸ்து பாவங்களுக்காக ஒரே முறையாக இறந்தார். உங்களை இறைவனிடம் கொண்டுவரும்படியாக, நீதிமானான அவர், நீதியற்றவர்களுக்காக இறந்தார். அவரது உடல் கொல்லப்பட்டது, ஆனால் ஆவியில் உயிர்ப்பிக்கப்பட்டார்.

Because Christ also suffered on account of sins, once for all, the righteous on behalf of the unrighteous, that He might bring us to God; having been put to death, to be sure, in flesh, but having been made alive in spirit;

19 அந்த ஆவியிலே அவர் போய், சிறையில் இருந்த ஆவிகளுக்குப் பிரசங்கம் செய்தார்.

in which He also went and made a proclamation to the spirits in prison

20 அந்த ஆவிகளே வெகுகாலத்திற்கு முன்பு, நோவா பேழை செய்துகொண்டிருந்த நாட்களில், இறைவன் பொறுமையோடு இருந்தும் கீழ்ப்படியாதவைகள். அந்தப் பேழையில், எல்லாமாக எட்டுப் பேராகிய சிலரே தண்ணீரின் வழியாகக் காப்பாற்றப்பட்டார்கள்.

who formerly were disobedient, when the patience of God kept waiting in the days of Noah, while the Ark was being prepared, in which a few, that is eight, souls were brought safely through water.

21 அதற்கு ஒப்பான இந்த திருமுழுக்கு உடலில் அழுக்கை நீக்குவதற்கு அல்ல, அது இறைவனைப் பற்றும் தெளிவான மனசாட்சியுடன் இருப்போம் என செய்துகொள்ளும் வாக்குறுதியாகும். இந்த திருமுழுக்கு இப்பொழுது இயேசுகிறிஸ்துவினுடைய உயிர்த்தெழுதலினாலே, உங்களை இரட்சிக்கிறது என்பதைக் காட்டுகிறது.

This is an antitype of baptism, that now saves us also (not the removal of physical filth, but the appeal into God from a good conscience) through the resurrection of Jesus Christ,

22 கிறிஸ்து பரலோகத்திற்குப் போய், இறைவனுடைய வலதுபக்கத்தில் இருக்கிறார். இறைத்தூதர்களும், அதிகாரங்களும், வல்லமைகளும் அவருக்கு அடங்கியிருக்கின்றன.

who is at the right hand of God, having gone into heaven, angels and authorities and powers having been made subject to Him.
