1 பேதுரு 1
1 இயேசுகிறிஸ்துவின் அப்போஸ்தலனான பேதுரு, இறைவனால் தெரிந்துகொள்ளப்பட்டவர்களான பொந்து, கலாத்தியா, கப்பத்தோக்கியா, ஆசியா, பித்தினியா ஆகிய நாடுகளில் சிதறுண்டு, இந்த உலகத்தில் அந்நியராய் இருக்கிற உங்களுக்கு எழுதுகிறதாவது:
Peter, an Apostle of Jesus Christ: To God's own people scattered over the earth, who are living as foreigners in Pontus, Galatia, Cappadocia, Roman Asia, and Bithynia,
2 நீங்கள் பிதாவாகிய இறைவனுடைய முன்னறிவின்படியே தெரிந்தெடுக்கப்பட்டு இருக்கிறீர்கள். நீங்கள் இயேசுகிறிஸ்துவுக்குள் கீழ்ப்படிந்திருக்கவும், அவருடைய இரத்தத்தினால் தெளிக்கப்படவும், ஆவியானவரின் பரிசுத்தமாகுதலினால் தெரிந்தெடுக்கப்பட்டு இருக்கிறீர்கள். கிருபையும் சமாதானமும் உங்களுடன் நிறைவாய் இருப்பதாக.
chosen in accordance with the foreknowledge of God the Father, through the sanctifying work of the Spirit, with a view to their obedience and to their being sprinkled with the blood of Jesus Christ. May more and more grace and peace be granted to you.
3 நமது கர்த்தராகிய இயேசுகிறிஸ்துவின் பிதாவும் இறைவனுமாய் இருக்கிறவருக்கு, துதி உண்டாவதாக! அவர் தமது பெரிதான இரக்கத்தினாலே, இறந்தோரிலிருந்து இயேசுகிறிஸ்துவை உயிர்த்தெழச்செய்ததின் மூலமாக, நமக்கு ஒரு புதுபிறப்பைக் கொடுத்திருக்கிறார். இதனால் நமக்கு ஒரு உயிருள்ள நம்பிக்கை கொடுக்கப்பட்டிருக்கிறது.
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who in His great mercy has begotten us anew to an ever-living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,
4 அந்த நம்பிக்கையுடன், நமக்கென உரிமைச்சொத்தும் பரலோகத்தில் வைக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது. அது ஒருபோதும் அழிவதுமில்லை, பழுதடைவதுமில்லை, வாடிப்போவதுமில்லை;
to an inheritance imperishable, undefiled and unfading, which has been reserved in Heaven for you,
5 நீங்களோ, அந்த இரட்சிப்பு வரும்வரைக்கும், விசுவாசத்தின் மூலமாக இறைவனுடைய வல்லமையினாலே பாதுகாக்கப்படுகிறீர்கள். அந்த இரட்சிப்பு கடைசி காலத்தில் வெளிப்படுவதற்கென ஆயத்தமாக்கப்பட்டிருக்கிறது.
whom God in His power is guarding through faith for a salvation that even now stands ready for unveiling at the End of the Age.
6 இந்த இரட்சிப்பைக்குறித்து நீங்கள் பெருமகிழ்ச்சியடைகிறீர்கள். ஆனால் இப்பொழுது, சிறிது காலத்திற்கு பலவித சோதனைகளின் நிமித்தம், நீங்கள் துன்பம் அனுபவிக்க வேண்டியிருக்கும்.
Rejoice triumphantly in the prospect of this, even if now, for a short time, you are compelled to sorrow amid various trials.
7 தங்கம் நெருப்பினால் புடமிடப்பட்டாலும், அது அழிந்தேபோகிறது. ஆனால் தங்கத்திலும் அதிக மதிப்புவாய்ந்த உங்கள் விசுவாசமோ, உண்மையானது என நிரூபிக்கப்படும்படியே, இத்துன்பங்கள் உங்களுக்கு நேரிட்டன. இயேசுகிறிஸ்து வெளிப்படும்போது, அந்த விசுவாசத்தின் காரணமாக, இறைவனுக்குத் துதியும், மகிமையும், கனமும் உண்டாகும்.
The sorrow comes in order that the testing of your faith--being more precious than that of gold, which perishes and yet is proved by fire--may be found to result in praise and glory and honour at the re-appearing of Jesus Christ.
8 நீங்கள் கிறிஸ்துவைக் கண்டதில்லை, ஆனாலும் அவரில் அன்பாயிருக்கிறீர்கள். நீங்கள் அவரைக் காணாதிருந்தும், இப்பொழுது அவரில் விசுவாசமாயிருக்கிறீர்கள். சொல்ல முடியாத மகிமையான சந்தோஷத்தினாலும் நிறைந்திருக்கிறீர்கள்.
Him you love, though your eyes have never looked on Him. In Him, though at present you cannot see Him, you nevertheless trust, and triumph with a joy which is unspeakable and is crowned with glory,
9 இவ்வாறு நீங்கள் உங்களுடைய ஆத்துமாவின் இரட்சிப்பாகிய விசுவாசத்தின் இலக்கைப் பெறுகிறீர்கள்.
while you are securing as the outcome of your faith the salvation of your souls.
10 உங்களுக்கு வரவிருந்த கிருபையைப்பற்றிச் சொன்ன இறைவாக்கினர், இந்த இரட்சிப்பைக் குறித்தே மிக உன்னிப்பாய் ஆராய்ந்து பார்த்தார்கள்.
There were Prophets who earnestly inquired about that salvation, and closely searched into it--even those who spoke beforehand of the grace which was to come to you.
11 தங்களில் உள்ள கிறிஸ்துவின் ஆவியானவர், கிறிஸ்துவின் பாடுகளையும், அதைத் தொடர்ந்து வரப்போகிற மகிமையையும் முன்னறிவித்தபோது, அவர் எந்தக் காலத்தை, எந்த சூழ்நிலைகளை குறிப்பிட்டுக் காண்பிக்கிறார் என்பதை அவர்கள் கண்டறிய முயன்றார்கள்.
They were eager to know the time which the Spirit of Christ within them kept indicating, or the characteristics of that time, when they solemnly made known beforehand the sufferings that were to come upon Christ and the glories which would follow.
12 அவர்கள் தங்களுக்காக அல்ல, பிற்காலத்தில் வரும் உங்களுக்காகவே ஊழியம் செய்தார்கள் என்பது அவர்களுக்கு வெளிப்படுத்தப்பட்டது. பரலோகத்திலிருந்து அனுப்பப்பட்ட பரிசுத்த ஆவியானவரால், உங்களுக்கு நற்செய்தியைப் பிரசங்கித்தவர்கள் இப்பொழுது சொன்னவற்றைப்பற்றி, அப்பொழுதே அவர்களுக்கு முன்னறிவிக்கப்பட்டது. இறைவனுடைய தூதர்களும் இந்தக் காரியங்களை உற்றுப்பார்க்க வாஞ்சையாக இருக்கிறார்கள்.
To them it was revealed that they were serving not themselves but you, when they foretold the very things which have now been openly declared to you by those who, having been taught by the Holy Spirit which had been sent from Heaven, brought you the Good News. Angels long to stoop and look into these things.
13 ஆகையால் செயல்படுவதற்கு உங்களுடைய மனங்களை ஆயத்தப்படுத்துங்கள். தன்னடக்கம் உடையவர்களாய் இருங்கள். கர்த்தராகிய இயேசுகிறிஸ்து வெளிப்படும்போது, உங்களுக்கு கொடுக்கப்படப்போகும் கிருபையின்மேல் உங்கள் முழு நம்பிக்கையையும் வையுங்கள்.
Therefore gird up your minds and fix your hopes calmly and unfalteringly upon the boon that is soon to be yours, at the re-appearing of Jesus Christ.
14 நீங்கள் அறியாமையில் வாழ்ந்தபோது, உங்களிடம் காணப்பட்ட தீய ஆசைகளின்படி இனியும் நடந்துகொள்ளாமல், கீழ்ப்படிகிற பிள்ளைகளாய் இருங்கள்.
And, since you delight in obedience, do not shape your lives by the cravings which used to dominate you in the time of your ignorance,
15 உங்களை அழைத்தவர் பரிசுத்தமாய் இருக்கிறதுபோல, நீங்கள் செய்கின்ற எல்லாவற்றிலும் பரிசுத்தராயிருங்கள்.
but--in imitation of the holy One who has called you--you also must be holy in all your habits of life.
16 ஏனெனில், “நான் பரிசுத்தர், நீங்களும் பரிசுத்தராய் இருங்கள்” என்று எழுதியிருக்கிறதே.
Because it stands written, "You are to be holy, because I am holy."
17 ஒவ்வொருவருடைய செயலையும் பாரபட்சமின்றி நியாயந்தீர்க்கின்ற பிதாவை நீங்கள் ஆராதிக்கிறபடியால், இங்கே நீங்கள் அந்நியர்களாக உங்களுடைய வாழ்க்கையை பயபக்தியுடன் வாழுங்கள்.
And if you address as your Father Him who judges impartially in accordance with each man's actions, then spend in fear the time of your stay here on earth,
18 ஏனெனில் நீங்கள் அறிந்திருக்கிறபடி, உங்கள் முற்பிதாக்களினால் உங்களுக்கு கையளிக்கப்பட்ட வெறுமையான வாழ்க்கை முறையிலிருந்து வெள்ளி, தங்கம் போன்ற அழிந்துபோகும் பொருட்களினால் நீங்கள் மீட்கப்படவில்லை.
knowing, as you do, that it was not with a ransom of perishable wealth, such as silver or gold, that you were set free from your frivolous habits of life which had been handed down to you from your forefathers,
19 குற்றமோ, குறைபாடோ இல்லாத ஆட்டுக்குட்டியானவராகிய, கிறிஸ்துவின் உயர்மதிப்புடைய இரத்தத்தினாலேயே மீட்கப்பட்டீர்கள்.
but with the precious blood of Christ--as of an unblemished and spotless lamb.
20 உலகம் படைக்கப்படும் முன்பாகவே, அவர் முன்குறிக்கப்பட்டார். ஆனால் உங்களுக்காகவே இந்தக் கடைசிக் காலங்களில் வெளிப்படுத்தப்பட்டார்.
He was pre-destined indeed to this work, even before the creation of the world, but has been plainly manifested in these last days for the sake of you who, through Him,
21 அவர் மூலமாகவே நீங்கள் இறைவனில் விசுவாசமாய் இருக்கிறீர்கள். உங்கள் விசுவாசமும், நம்பிக்கையும் இறைவனிலேயே இருக்கும்படி, இறைவனே அவரை இறந்தோரிலிருந்து உயிருடன் எழுப்பி, அவருக்கு மகிமையைக் கொடுத்தார்.
are faithful to God, who raised Him from among the dead and gave Him glory, so that your faith and hope are resting upon God.
22 இப்பொழுது நீங்கள் சத்தியத்திற்குக் கீழ்ப்படிந்ததினாலே, உங்களைச் சுத்திகரித்துக்கொண்டீர்கள். இதனால் உங்கள் சகோதரரைக்குறித்து உண்மையான அன்புள்ளவர்களாய் இருக்கிறீர்கள். ஆகவே ஒருவரில் ஒருவர் உண்மையான உள்ளத்துடன் ஆழ்ந்த அன்பு செலுத்துங்கள்.
Now that, through your obedience to the truth, you have purified your souls for cherishing sincere brotherly love, you must love another heartily and fervently.
23 ஏனெனில், நீங்கள் புதிதான பிறப்பைப் பெற்றிருக்கிறீர்கள். இந்த பிறப்பு அழிந்துபோகின்ற விதையினால் உண்டாகவில்லை. அழியாத விதையான இறைவனுடைய வார்த்தையினாலேயே உண்டானது. அந்த வார்த்தை உயிருள்ளதும் நிலைத்து நிற்பதுமானது. (aiōn g165)
For you have been begotten again by God's ever-living and enduring word from a germ not of perishable, but of imperishable life. (aiōn g165)
24 ஏனெனில், “எல்லா மனிதரும் புல்லைப் போன்றவர்கள். அவர்களின் மகிமை எல்லாம் வயல்வெளியின் பூக்களைப் போன்றன. புல் வாடுகிறது, பூக்கள் உதிருகின்றன,
"All mankind resemble the herbage, and all their beauty is like its flowers. The herbage dries up, and its flowers drop off;
