1 சாலொமோன் யெகோவாவின் ஆலயத்தையும், அரச அரண்மனையையும் மற்றும் அவன் செய்யவேண்டுமென்று மனதில் விரும்பிய எல்லாவற்றையும் செய்துமுடித்தான்.
After Solomon had finished the Lord's Temple and the royal palace, having accomplished everything he'd wanted to do,
2 அப்பொழுது, முன்பு கிபியோனில் தோன்றியதுபோல யெகோவா இரண்டாம் முறையும் சாலொமோனுக்குத் தோன்றினார்.
the Lord appeared to him a second time, as he had appeared to him at Gibeon.
3 யெகோவா அவனிடம் சொன்னதாவது: “நீ எனக்கு முன்பாகச் செய்த மன்றாட்டையும், விண்ணப்பத்தையும் கேட்டேன். என் பெயர் என்றைக்கும் நிலைக்கும்படியாக நீ கட்டிய இந்த ஆலயத்தை நான் பரிசுத்தப்படுத்தியிருக்கிறேன். என் கண்களும், என் இருதயமும் எப்பொழுதும் அங்கேயிருக்கும்.
The Lord told him, “I have heard your prayer and your request to me. I have dedicated this Temple you have built by placing my name on it forever; I will always watch over it and take care of it.
4 “நீயோ உனது தகப்பன் தாவீது செய்ததுபோல் உத்தமத்தோடும், நேர்மையோடும் எனக்கு முன்பாக நடந்து, நான் கட்டளையிட்டவற்றை எல்லாம் செய்து, எனது விதிமுறைகளையும் சட்டங்களையும் கைக்கொள்வாயானால்,
As for you, if you follow my ways as your father David did, doing everything I've told you to do, and if you keep my laws and regulations,
5 நான் உனது தகப்பன் தாவீதிடம், ‘இஸ்ரயேலின் அரியணையில் உட்கார உனது மகன்களில் ஒருவனாவது ஒருபோதும் இல்லாமல் போகமாட்டான்,’ என்று வாக்குப்பண்ணியபடியே, இஸ்ரயேலில் உனது அரச அரியணையை என்றைக்கும் நிலைநிறுத்துவேன்.
then I will make your throne secure forever. I made this agreement with your father David, telling him, ‘You will always have a descendant to rule over Israel.’
6 “ஆனால் நீங்களோ உங்கள் சந்ததிகளோ, என்னைவிட்டுத் திரும்பி நான் உங்களுக்குக் கொடுத்த கட்டளைகளையும், விதிமுறைகளையும் கைக்கொள்ளாமல், வேறே தெய்வங்களுக்குப் பணிசெய்து அவைகளை வழிபடும்படி விலகிப்போனால்,
But if you or your descendants turn away and do not keep the laws and the commandments I have given you, and if you go and serve and worship other gods,
7 நான் இஸ்ரயேலருக்குக் கொடுத்த நாட்டிலிருந்து அவர்களை அகற்றிவிடுவேன். நான் என் பெயருக்கென்று பரிசுத்தமாக்கிய இந்த ஆலயத்தையும் புறக்கணித்து விடுவேன். அப்பொழுது இஸ்ரயேலர் எல்லா மக்கள் கூட்டங்கள் மத்தியிலும் ஒரு பழிச்சொல்லாகவும், கேலிப்பொருளாகவும் இருப்பார்கள்.
then I will cut Israel off from the land I have given them. I will banish from my presence this Temple I have dedicated to my honor, and I will make it an object lesson of ridicule among the nations.
8 இந்த ஆலயம் அழிவின் குவியலாக மாறும். இதைக் கடந்து போகிறவர்கள் இதைக்கண்டு திகைத்து, கேலிபண்ணி, ‘இந்த நாட்டுக்கும் இந்த ஆலயத்துக்கும் யெகோவா ஏன் இப்படி செய்தார்?’ என்பார்கள்.
This Temple will become a pile of rubble. All who pass by it will be appalled and will hiss, saying, ‘Why has the Lord acted in such a way to this land and this Temple?’
9 அப்பொழுது மக்கள், ‘எகிப்திலிருந்து அவர்களுடைய முற்பிதாக்களை மீட்டுக் கொண்டுவந்த அவர்களுடைய இறைவனாகிய யெகோவாவைக் கைவிட்டார்கள். அவர்கள் வேறே தெய்வங்களைப் பின்பற்றி, அவற்றை வழிபட்டு, அவற்றிற்குப் பணிசெய்தார்கள். இதனால்தான் யெகோவா அவர்கள்மீது இந்த பேரழிவைக் கொண்டுவந்தார்’ என்பார்கள்.”
The answer will come, ‘Because they abandoned the Lord their God, who brought their forefathers out of Egypt, and have embraced other gods, worshiping them and serving them. That's why the Lord has brought all this trouble upon them.’”
10 சாலொமோன் யெகோவாவின் ஆலயம், அரச அரண்மனை ஆகிய இரண்டையும் கட்டிமுடிக்க இருபது வருடம் ஆனபின்பு,
It took twenty years for Solomon to construct the two buildings—the Temple of the Lord and his own palace. After this,
11 அவன் விரும்பிய அளவு கேதுரு மரங்களையும், தேவதாரு மரங்களையும், தங்கத்தையும் தீருவின் அரசனாகிய ஈராம் கொடுத்தபடியினால், சாலொமோன் கலிலேயா நாட்டில் இருபது பட்டணங்களை ஈராமுக்குக் கொடுத்தான்.
King Solomon gave twenty towns in Galilee to Hiram king of Tyre, because Hiram had provided him with all the cedar and juniper and gold he wanted.
12 ஆனால் சாலொமோன் கொடுத்த பட்டணங்களைப் பார்ப்பதற்கு ஈராம் தீருவிலிருந்து போனபோது, அவற்றில் அவன் மகிழ்ச்சியடையவில்லை.
But when Hiram went from Tyre to see the cities that Solomon had given him, he was not happy with them.
13 அதனால் அவன் சாலொமோனைப் பார்த்து, “என் சகோதரனே இவை என்ன? நீ தந்திருக்கும் பட்டணங்கள் எப்படிப்பட்டவை?” என்று கேட்டான். அதை அவன், “காபூல் நாடு” என அழைத்தான். அந்தப் பட்டணங்கள் இன்றுவரை அந்தப் பெயராலேயே அழைக்கப்படுகின்றன.
“What are these towns you have given me, my brother?” asked Hiram. He called them the land of Cabul, the name they are known by to this day.
14 ஈராம் சாலொமோன் அரசனுக்கு நூற்றிருபது தாலந்து நிறையுள்ள தங்கத்தை அனுப்பியிருந்தான்.
Even so, Hiram sent the king 120 talents of gold in payment.
15 அரசன் சாலொமோன் யெகோவாவின் ஆலயத்தையும், தன் சொந்த அரண்மனையையும், அதைத் தாங்கும் அடுக்குத் தளங்களையும், எருசலேம் மதிலையும், ஆத்சோர், மெகிதோ, கேசேர் ஆகிய பட்டணங்களையும் கட்டுவதற்கு நியமித்த கட்டாய வேலையின் விபரம் இதுவே:
Here is the account of the forced labor that King Solomon imposed to build the Lord's Temple, his own palace, the terraces, and the wall of Jerusalem, as well as Hazor, Megiddo, and Gezer.
16 எகிப்திய அரசனான பார்வோன் படையெடுத்துப்போய் கேசேரைக் கைப்பற்றியிருந்தான். அதை எரித்து, அங்கிருந்த கானானிய குடிமக்களையும் கொலைசெய்தான். பின்பு சாலொமோனின் மனைவியான தன் மகளுக்குத் திருமணப் பரிசாக இதைக் கொடுத்தான்.
Pharaoh, king of Egypt, had attacked and captured Gezer. He had set it on fire, killed the Canaanites living in the town. He had then given it as a wedding dowry to his daughter, Solomon's wife.
17 சாலொமோன் கேசேரைத் திருப்பிக் கட்டியதோடு, கீழ் பெத் ஓரோனையும்,
Solomon rebuilt Gezer and lower Beth-horon,
18 தன் நிலப்பகுதியிலுள்ள பாலைவனத்தில் பாலாத், தத்மோர் ஆகிய பட்டணங்களையும்,
Baalath and Tamar in the wilderness, in the land of Judah,
19 அவனுடைய களஞ்சியப் பட்டணங்களையும், தனது தேர்களுக்கும் குதிரைகளுக்குமான பட்டணங்களையும் கட்டினான். அவன் எருசலேமிலும், லெபனோனிலும், தான் அரசாண்ட பிரதேசம் முழுவதிலும் தான் கட்ட ஆசைப்பட்டவற்றைக் கட்டினான்.
and all of Solomon's towns for storage, and the towns for his chariots and for his horsemen, plus whatever Solomon wanted to build in Jerusalem, in Lebanon, and throughout his entire kingdom.
20 நாட்டில் இஸ்ரயேலர் அல்லாத எமோரியர், ஏத்தியர், பெரிசியர், ஏவியர், எபூசியர் ஆகியோர் இன்னும் மீதியாயிருந்தார்கள்.
The descendants of the Amorites, Hittites, Perizzites, Hivites and Jebusites (people who were not Israelites)
21 இவர்கள் அந்நாட்டில் இஸ்ரயேலர்களால் அழிக்கமுடியாமல் விடப்பட்டிருந்தவர்களின் சந்ததிகள். இன்றுவரை உள்ளபடி அவர்களை சாலொமோன் தனது அடிமைவேலை செய்வதற்குக் கட்டாயமாய்ச் சேர்த்துக்கொண்டான்.
who remained in the land—those whom the Israelites were unable to destroy completely—were conscripted by Solomon to work as forced laborers, as they continue to do to this day.
22 ஆனால் சாலொமோன் இஸ்ரயேலர் எவரையும் அடிமைகளாக்கவில்லை. அவர்கள் அவனுடைய இராணுவவீரர்களாயும், அவனுடைய அரசியல் அதிகாரிகளாகவும், அவனுடைய அலுவலகர்களாகவும், அவனுடைய தலைவர்களாகவும், அவனுடைய தேர்களுக்கும், தேரோட்டிகளுக்கும், தளபதிகளாகவும் இருந்தார்கள்.
But Solomon did not enslave any of the Israelites. They were his soldiers, officials, commanders, captains, chariot commanders, and horsemen.
23 இவர்கள் சாலொமோனுடைய வேலைத் திட்டங்களுக்குப் பொறுப்பாய் இருந்த தலைமை அதிகாரிகளாகவும் இருந்தனர். இவர்களில் ஐந்நூற்று ஐம்பது அதிகாரிகள் வேலைசெய்த மனிதர்களை மேற்பார்வை செய்தார்கள்.
They were also the chief officers in charge of Solomon's programs: 550 in command of the people who carried out the work.
24 பார்வோனின் மகள் தாவீதின் நகரத்திலிருந்து சாலொமோன் அவளுக்காகக் கட்டியிருந்த அரண்மனைக்கு வந்தபின்பு, அவன் அதற்கு தாங்கு தளங்களைக் கட்டினான்.
Once Pharaoh's daughter had moved from the City of David to the palace that Solomon had built for her, he built the city terraces.
25 யெகோவாவுக்காகத் தான் கட்டிய பலிபீடத்தின்மேல் சாலொமோன் வருடத்தில் மூன்றுமுறை தகன காணிக்கைகளையும், சமாதான காணிக்கைகளையும் பலியிட்டான். அவற்றோடு யெகோவாவுக்குமுன் தூபங்காட்டி, இவ்விதமாய் ஆலயக் கடமைகளையும் நிறைவேற்றினான்.
Three times each year Solomon sacrificed burnt offerings and friendship offerings on the altar he had built for the Lord, burning incense before the Lord with them, and so fulfilled what was required at the Temple.
26 அத்துடன் ஏதோம் நாட்டில் செங்கடலின் கரையோரத்தில் ஏலாத்துக்குக் அருகில் உள்ள எசியோன் கேபேர் என்னும் இடத்தில் அரசன் சாலொமோன் கப்பல்களையும் கட்டினான்.
King Solomon built a fleet of ships at Ezion-geber, which is near Eloth on the shore of the Red Sea, in the land of Edom.
27 ஈராம் கடல் பயணத்தில் பழக்கப்பட்ட தனது வேலையாட்களை, சாலொமோனுடைய வேலையாட்களோடு கப்பற்படையில் சேர்ந்து வேலைசெய்வதற்காக அனுப்பினான்.
Hiram sent his sailors who knew the sea to serve in the fleet with Solomon's men.
28 அவர்கள் ஓப்பீருக்குப் போய், நானூற்று இருபது தாலந்து நிறையுள்ள தங்கத்தை அரசனாகிய சாலொமோனுக்குக் கொண்டுவந்து கொடுத்தார்கள்.
They sailed to Ophir and brought back 420 talents of gold from there and delivered it to Solomon.
