1 இராஜாக்கள் 16

1 அப்பொழுது பாஷாவுக்கு எதிராக அனானியின் மகன் யெகூவுக்கு யெகோவாவின் வார்த்தை வந்தது.

Then came the word of the Lord to Jehu the son of Chanani against Ba'sha, saying,

2 “என் மக்களாகிய இஸ்ரயேலருக்கு உன்னைத் தலைவனாக்கும்படி நான் உன்னைப் புழுதியிலிருந்து உயர்த்தினேன். ஆனால் நீயோ யெரொபெயாமின் வழிகளில் நடந்து என் மக்களான இஸ்ரயேலரையும் பாவம் செய்யப்பண்ணி, அவர்களுடைய பாவங்களின் மூலம் எனக்குக் கோபமூட்டினாய்.

Forasmuch as I lifted thee up out of the dust, and I set thee as prince over my people Israel; and thou hast walked in the way of Jerobo'am, and hast induced my people Israel to sin, to provoke me to anger with their sins:

3 எனவே நான் பாஷாவையும், அவன் குடும்பத்தையும் அழித்தொழிக்கப் போகிறேன். நேபாத்தின் மகன் யெரொபெயாமின் குடும்பத்தைப்போல் உன் குடும்பத்தையும் ஆக்குவேன்.

Behold, I will sweep out after Ba'sha, and after his house; and I will render thy house like the house of Jerobo'am the son of Nebat;

4 பாஷாவுக்கு சொந்தமானவர்களில், பட்டணத்தில் சாகிறவர்களை நாய்கள் தின்னும்; நாட்டிலே சாகிறவர்களை ஆகாயத்துப் பறவைகள் தின்னும்.”

Him that dieth of Ba'sha in the city shall the dogs eat; and him that dieth of his in the field shall the fowls of the heavens eat.

5 பாஷாவின் அரசாட்சியில் நடந்த மற்றச் சம்பவங்களும், அவனுடைய செயல்களும், சாதனைகளும் இஸ்ரயேலின் அரசர்களின் வரலாற்றுப் புத்தகத்திலல்லவோ எழுதப்பட்டுள்ளன.

And the rest of the acts of Ba'sha, and what he did, and his mighty deeds, behold, they are written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel.

6 பாஷா தன் முற்பிதாக்களைப்போல இறந்து திர்சாவில் அடக்கம் செய்யப்பட்டான். அவனுக்குப் பிறகு அவனுடைய மகன் ஏலா அவனுடைய இடத்தில் அரசனானான்.

And Ba'sha slept with his fathers, and was buried in Thirzah: and Elah his son became king in his stead.

7 மேலும் அனானியின் மகனான யெகூ என்ற இறைவாக்கினனுக்கு, பாஷாவுக்கும் அவன் சந்ததிக்கும் எதிராக யெகோவாவின் வார்த்தை வந்தது. ஏனெனில் யெகோவாவின் பார்வையில் அவன் செய்த தீமையினாலும், அவனுடைய செயல்களினால் யெகோவாவைக் கோபமூட்டியபடியினாலும், யெரொபெயாமின் வீட்டைப் போலானபடியினாலும், அவன் யெரொபெயாமின் வீட்டை அழித்தபடியினாலுமே யெகோவாவின் வார்த்தை இப்படி வந்தது.

And also by the hand of Jehu the son of Chanani, the prophet, came the word of the Lord against Ba'sha, and against his house, both for all the evil that he did in the eyes of the Lord, to provoke him to anger with the work of his hands, thus being like the house of Jerobo'am; and because he had killed him.

8 யூதாவின் அரசன் ஆசாவின் இருபத்தி ஆறாவது வருடத்தில் பாஷாவின் மகன் ஏலா இஸ்ரயேலின் அரசனாக வந்தான். இவன் திர்சாவில் இரண்டு வருடங்கள் அரசாண்டான்.

In the twenty and sixth year of Assa the king of Judah became Elah the son of Ba'sha king over Israel in Thirzah, [for] two years.

9 அப்போது அவனுடைய தேர்களின் அரைப்பகுதிக்குத் தளபதியும், அதிகாரிகளில் ஒருவனுமான சிம்ரி என்பவன் அவனுக்கு எதிராகச் சதி செய்தான். ஒரு நாள் திர்சாவில் அரண்மனைப் பொறுப்பதிகாரியான அர்சாவின் வீட்டில் ஏலா குடிபோதையில் இருந்தான்.

And there conspired against him his servant Zimri, captain of half the chariots, as he was in Thirzah, drinking himself drunk in the house of Arza, who was set over the house in Thirzah.

10 சிம்ரி உள்ளே போய் அவனைத் தாக்கிக் கொலைசெய்தான். யூதாவின் அரசனாக ஆசா ஆட்சி செய்த இருபத்தேழாம் வருடத்தில் இது நடந்தது. அதன்பின் சிம்ரி தானே அவனுடைய இடத்தில் அரசனானான்.

And Zimri went in and smote him, and killed him, in the twenty and seventh year of Assa the king of Judah, and became king in his stead.

11 அவன் அரசாளத் தொடங்கி அரியணையில் அமர்ந்தவுடன் பாஷாவின் முழு குடும்பத்தையும் கொன்றொழித்தான். அவனுடைய உறவினரிலோ, சிநேகிதரிலோ ஒரு ஆணையும் மீதியாய் விடவில்லை.

And it came to pass, when he began to reign, as soon as he sat on his throne, that he slew all the house of Ba'sha: he left him not a single male, neither of his kinsfolks, nor of his friends.

12 யெகூ என்ற இறைவாக்கினன் மூலம் பாஷாவுக்கு எதிராக யெகோவா கூறிய வார்த்தை நிறைவேற்றும்படியாக சிம்ரி பாஷாவின் முழுக் குடும்பத்தையும் அழித்தான்.

Thus did Zimri exterminate all the house of Ba'sha, according to the word of the Lord, which he had spoken against Ba'sha by the agency of Jehu the prophet,

13 பாஷாவும் அவனுடைய மகன் ஏலாவும் செய்த எல்லாப் பாவங்களாலும், அவர்கள் இஸ்ரயேலைப் பாவம் செய்யப்பண்ணியபடியாலும், அவர்களுடைய பயனற்ற விக்கிரகங்களால் இஸ்ரயேலின் இறைவனாகிய யெகோவாவுக்கு அவர்கள் கோபமூட்டியபடியாலும் அவர்களுக்கு இப்படி நடந்தது.

For all the sins of Ba'sha, and the sins of Elah his son, by which they had sinned, and by which they had induced Israel to sin, to provoke the Lord the God of Israel to anger with their vanities.

14 ஏலாவின் ஆட்சியின் மற்ற சம்பவங்களும் அவன் செய்தவைகளும் இஸ்ரயேல் அரசர்களின் வம்ச வரலாற்றுப் புத்தகத்திலல்லவோ எழுதப்பட்டுள்ளன.

Now the rest of the acts of Elah, and all that he did, behold, they are written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel.

15 யூதாவின் அரசன் ஆசாவின் இருபத்தேழாம் வருடத்தில் திர்சாவில் சிம்ரி அரசன் ஏழு நாட்கள் அரசாண்டான். இஸ்ரயேல் படைகள் ஒரு பெலிஸ்திய பட்டணமான கிபெத்தோனுக்கு அருகே முகாமிட்டிருந்தனர்.

In the twenty and seventh year of Assa the king of Judah did Zimri reign seven days in Thirzah: and the people were encamped against Gibbethon, which belonged to the Philistines.

16 முகாமிலிருந்த இஸ்ரயேலர் சிம்ரி தங்கள் அரசனுக்கு எதிராகச் சதிசெய்தது மட்டுமல்ல, அவனைக் கொலைசெய்தான் என்று கேள்விப்பட்டார்கள். உடனே அவர்கள் தங்கள் படைத்தளபதியான உம்ரியை அதேநாளிலே, முகாமிலிருக்கும்போதே இஸ்ரயேலின்மேல் அரசனாக்கினார்கள்.

And when the people that were encamped heard it said, Zimri hath conspired, and hath also slain the king: all Israel made 'Omri, the captain of the army, king over Israel on that day in the camp.

17 அப்பொழுது உம்ரியும் அவனுடன் இருந்த எல்லா இஸ்ரயேலரும் கிபெத்தோனைவிட்டு பின்வாங்கி, திர்சாவை முற்றுகையிட்டனர்.

And 'Omri went up, and all Israel with him from Gibbethon, and they besieged Thirzah.

18 பட்டணம் பிடிக்கப்பட்டதை சிம்ரி கண்டவுடன் அவன் அரச அரண்மனைக் கோட்டைக்குள் போய் அதற்கு நெருப்பு வைத்து, தானும் அதிலே இறந்தான்.

And it came to pass, when Zimri saw that the city was captured, that he went into the strong-hold of the king's house, and burnt the king's house over him with fire, and he died;

19 சிம்ரி தான் செய்த பாவங்களினாலும், அவன் யெரொபெயாமின் பாவங்களைத் தானும் செய்து, இஸ்ரயேல் மக்களையும் அவனுடைய பாவத்தில் வழிநடத்தியபடியாலும், யெகோவாவினுடைய பார்வையில் தீமை செய்தபடியினாலுமே இது நடந்தது.

For his sins which he had sinned, in doing what is evil in the eyes of the Lord, to walk in the way of Jerobo'am, and in his sin which he did, to induce Israel to sin.

20 சிம்ரியின் ஆட்சிக் காலத்தின் மிகுதி நிகழ்வுகளும், அவனுடைய கலகமும் இஸ்ரயேல் அரசர்களின் வரலாற்றுப் புத்தகத்திலல்லவோ எழுதப்பட்டுள்ளன.

And the rest of the acts of Zimri, and his conspiracy that he contrived, behold, they are written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel.

21 அதன்பின் இஸ்ரயேலர் இரண்டு பிரிவினராகப் பிரிந்தனர். ஒரு பிரிவினர் கீனாத்தின் மகன் திப்னியையும், மற்றப் பிரிவினர் உம்ரியையும் அரசனாக்குவதற்கு ஆதரவளித்தனர்.

At that time were the people of Israel divided into two parts: one half of the people followed Thibni the son of Ginath, to make him king; and the other half followed 'Omri.

22 கீனாத்தின் மகன் திப்னிக்குச் சார்பானவர்களைவிட உம்ரிக்குச் சார்பானவர்கள் பலம் மிக்கவர்களாக இருந்தார்கள். ஆகவே திப்னி இறந்தான், அதன்பின் உம்ரி அரசனானான்.

But the people that followed 'Omri prevailed against the people that followed Thibni the son of Ginath: and Thibni [also] died, and 'Omri became king.

23 யூதாவில் ஆசா அரசாண்ட முப்பத்தோராம் வருடத்தில் உம்ரி இஸ்ரயேலின் அரசனாக வந்து, பன்னிரண்டு வருடங்கள் ஆட்சிசெய்தான். இதில் ஆறு வருடங்கள் திர்சாவில் இருந்து அரசாண்டான்.

In the thirty and first year of Assa the king of Judah became 'Omri king over Israel, [for] twelve years; in Thirzah he reigned six years.

24 இதன்பின் சேமேர் என்பவனிடமிருந்து சமாரிய மலையை இரண்டு தாலந்து வெள்ளிக்கு வாங்கினான். அந்த மலையில் ஒரு பட்டணத்தைக் கட்டி, முந்தைய சொந்தக்காரனான சேமேரின் பெயரின்படி அதை சமாரியா என அழைத்தான்.

And he bought the mount Samaria, of Shemer for two talents of silver, and built on the mount, and called the name of the city which he had built, after the name of Shemer, the Lord of the mount, Samaria.

25 ஆனால் உம்ரியோ தன் முன்னோரைவிட அதிக பாவம் செய்து யெகோவாவின் பார்வையில் தீமையைச் செய்தான்.

And 'Omri did what is evil in the eyes of the Lord, and did worse than all that were before him.

26 அவன் நேபாத்தின் மகன் யெரொபெயாமின் வழிகளில் நடந்து இஸ்ரயேலைப் பாவம் செய்யப்பண்ணிய பாவத்தையும் செய்தான். இதனாலேயே பயனற்ற விக்கிரகங்களினால் இஸ்ரயேலர் தங்கள் இறைவனாகிய யெகோவாவைக் கோபமூட்டினார்கள்.

And he walked in all the way of Jerobo'am the son of Nebat, and in his sin wherewith he induced Israel to sin, to provoke the Lord God of Israel to anger with their vanities.

27 உம்ரியின் ஆட்சியின் மிகுதி நிகழ்வுகளும், அவன் செய்தவைகளும் இஸ்ரயேல் அரசர்களின் வரலாற்றுப் புத்தகத்திலல்லவோ எழுதப்பட்டுள்ளன.

Now the rest of the acts of 'Omri which he did, and his mighty deeds that he displayed, behold, they are written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel.

28 இதன்பின் உம்ரி தன் முற்பிதாக்களைப்போல இறந்து, சமாரியாவில் அடக்கம் செய்யப்பட்டான். அவன் மகன் ஆகாப் அவனுக்குப்பின் அரசனானான்.

And 'Omri slept with his fathers, and was buried in Samaria: and Achab his son became king in his stead.

29 யூதாவின் அரசன் ஆசாவின் முப்பத்தி எட்டாம் வருடத்தில் உம்ரியின் மகன் ஆகாப் இஸ்ரயேலின் அரசனாக வந்தான். இவன் இருபத்திரண்டு வருடங்கள் சமாரியாவிலிருந்து இஸ்ரயேலை அரசாண்டான்.

And Achab the son of 'omri became king over Israel in the thirty and eighth year of Assa the king of Judah; and Achab the son of 'Omri reigned over Israel in Samaria twenty and two years.

30 உம்ரியின் மகன் ஆகாப் தனக்கு முன் அரசாண்ட எல்லோரைப் பார்க்கிலும், யெகோவாவின் பார்வையில் அதிக தீமையைச் செய்தான்.

And Achab the son of 'Omri did what is evil in the eyes of the Lord more than all that had been before him.

31 நேபாத்தின் மகன் யெரொபெயாமின் பாவங்களைத் தான் செய்வது ஒரு அற்பமான செயல் எனக் கருதியது மட்டுமல்ல; சீதோனியரின் அரசன் ஏத்பாகாலின் மகள் யேசபேலையும் திருமணம் செய்து, பாகாலுக்கு சேவைசெய்து அதை வணங்கினான்.

And it came to pass, as if it had been too light a thing for him to walk in the sins of Jerobo'am the son of Nebat, that he took for wife Izebel the daughter of Ethba'al the king of the Zidonians, and went and served Ba'al, and worshipped him.

32 சமாரியாவில் அவன் கட்டிய பாகாலின் கோவிலில் பாகாலுக்கென்று ஒரு பலி மேடையையும் அமைத்தான்.

And he erected an altar for Ba'al in the house of Ba'al, which he had built in Samaria.

33 அதோடுகூட ஆகாப், அசேரா விக்கிரக தூணையும் நிறுத்தி, தனக்கு முன் இருந்த எல்லா இஸ்ரயேல் அரசரைக் காட்டிலும், இஸ்ரயேலின் இறைவனாகிய யெகோவாவைக் கோபமூட்டும்படி அதிகமானதைச் செய்தான்.

And Achab made a grove; and Achab did yet more, so as to provoke the Lord the God of Israel to anger, than all the kings of Israel that had been before him.

34 ஆகாபின் காலத்தில் பெத்தேலில் இருந்த ஈயேல் என்பவன் எரிகோவைத் திரும்பக் கட்டினான். நூனின் மகன் யோசுவா மூலம் கூறப்பட்ட யெகோவாவின் வார்த்தையின்படியே, ஈயேல் அஸ்திபாரங்களை போடும்போது தன் மூத்த மகன் அபிராமை சாகக்கொடுத்தான். வாசல்களை அமைக்கும்போது இளையமகன் செகூப்பையும் சாகக்கொடுத்தான்.

In his days did Chiel the Beth-elite build Jericho: with Abiram his first-born laid he the foundation thereof, and with Segub his youngest son set he up the gates thereof, according to the word of the Lord, which he had spoken by means of Joshua the son of Nun.
