1 யூதாவின் சந்ததிகள்: பேரேஸ், எஸ்ரோன், கர்மீ, ஊர், சோபால் என்பவர்கள்.
The sons of Judah: Perez, Hezron, and Carmi, and Hur, and Shobal.
2 சோபாலின் மகன் ராயா என்பவன் யாகாத்தின் தகப்பன்; யாகாத், அகுமாய், லாகாத் என்பவர்களின் தகப்பன். இவர்கள் சோராத்தியரின் வம்சங்கள்.
And Reaiah the son of Shobal begot Jahath. And Jahath begot Ahumai and Lahad. These are the families of the Zorathites.
3 ஏத்தாமின் மகன்கள்: யெஸ்ரியேல், இஸ்மா, இத்பாஸ் என்பவர்கள். இவர்களுடைய சகோதரியின் பெயர் அத்செலெல்போனி.
And these were the sons of the father of Etam: Jezreel, and Ishma, and Idbash; and the name of their sister was Hazzelelponi;
4 பெனுயேல் கேதோரின் தகப்பன்; எசேர் உஷாவின் தகப்பன். இவர்களே பெத்லெகேமின் தலைவனான எப்ராத்தாவின் முதற்பேறானவனான ஊரின் சந்ததிகள்.
and Penuel the father of Gedor, and Ezer the father of Hushah. These are the sons of Hur, the firstborn of Ephrathah, the father of Bethlehem.
5 தெக்கோவாவின் தகப்பன் அசூர் என்பவனுக்கு ஏலாள், நாராள் என்ற இரு மனைவிகள் இருந்தார்கள்.
And Ashhur the father of Tekoa had two wives, Helah and Naarah.
6 நாராள் அவனுக்கு அகுசாம், ஏப்பேர், தெமனி, ஆகாஸ்தாரி ஆகியோரைப் பெற்றாள்; இவர்கள் நாராளின் சந்ததிகள்.
And Naarah bore for him Ahuzzam, and Hepher, and Temeni, and Haahashtari. These were the sons of Naarah.
7 ஏலாளின் மகன்கள்: சேரேத், சோகார், எத்னான்,
And the sons of Helah were Zereth, Izhar, and Ethnan.
8 கோஸ் என்பவர்கள். கோஸ் என்பவன் அனூபையும், சோபேபாவையும், ஆருமின் மகன் அகர்கேலின் வம்சங்களையும் பெற்றான்.
And Hakkoz begot Anub, and Zobebah, and the families of Aharhel the son of Harum.
9 யாபேஸ் தனது சகோதரர்களைவிட மதிப்பிற்குரியவனாக இருந்தான். அவனுடைய தாய், “நான் இவனை வேதனையுடன் பெற்றேன்” என்று சொல்லி யாபேஸ் என்ற பெயரை வைத்தாள்.
And Jabez was more honorable than his brothers. And his mother called his name Jabez, saying, Because I bore him with sorrow.
10 யாபேஸ் இஸ்ரயேலின் இறைவனிடம் கதறி அழுது, “நீர் என்னை ஆசீர்வதியும், எனது எல்லையையும் விரிவுபடுத்தும்! உமது கரம் என்னோடிருந்து தீமையிலிருந்து காப்பாற்றட்டும். அப்போது எனது வேதனை நீங்கும்” என வேண்டிக்கொண்டான். இறைவன் அவன் வேண்டுதலுக்குப் பதில் கொடுத்தார்.
And Jabez called on the God of Israel, saying, Oh that thou would bless me indeed, and enlarge my border, and that thy hand might be with me, and that thou would keep me from evil, that it not be to my sorrow! And God granted him that which he requested.
11 சூகாவின் சகோதரன் கேலூப் என்பவன் மேகீரின் தகப்பன்; மேகீர் எஸ்தோனின் தகப்பன்.
And Chelub the brother of Shuhah begot Mehir, who was the father of Eshton.
12 எஸ்தோன் பெத்ராபாவுக்கும், பசேயாவுக்கும், இர்நாகாஷ் பட்டணத்தின் தலைவனாகிய தெகினாவுக்கும் தகப்பன். இவர்கள் ரேகா ஊரைச் சேர்ந்தவர்கள்.
And Eshton begot Beth-rapha, and Paseah, and Tehinnah the father of Ir-nahash. These are the men of Recah.
13 கேனாசின் மகன்கள்: ஒத்னியேல், செராயா. ஒத்னியேலின் மகன்கள்: ஆத்தாத், மெயோனத்தாய்.
And the sons of Kenaz: Othniel, and Seraiah. And the sons of Othniel: Hathath.
14 மெயோனத்தாய் ஒப்ராவின் தகப்பன். செராயா கராஷிம் பள்ளத்தாக்கின் தலைவனான யோவாபின் தகப்பன். அங்குள்ள மக்கள் கைவினைஞராய் இருந்தபடியால் அது கராஷிம் என்று அழைக்கப்பட்டது.
And Meonothai begot Ophrah. And Seraiah begot Joab the father of Ge-harashim, for they were craftsmen.
15 எப்புன்னேயின் மகன் காலேபின் மகன்கள்: ஈரு, ஏலா, நாகாம். ஏலாவின் மகன்: கேனாஸ்.
And the sons of Caleb the son of Jephunneh: Iru, Elah, and Naam. And the sons of Elah: Kenaz.
16 எகலெலேலின் மகன்கள்: சீப், சீப்பா, திரியா, அசாரேயேல் என்பவர்கள்.
And the sons of Jehallelel: Ziph, and Ziphah, Tiria, and Asarel.
17 எஸ்றாவின் மகன்கள்: யெத்தெர், மேரேத், ஏப்பேர், யாலோன். மேரேத்தின் மனைவிகளில் ஒருத்தி மிரியாம், சம்மாயியையும், எஸ்தெமோவாவின் தகப்பனான இஸ்பாவையும் பெற்றாள்.
And the sons of Ezrah: Jether, and Mered, and Epher, and Jalon. And she bore Miriam, and Shammai, and Ishbah the father of Eshtemoa.
18 அவனுடைய யூத மனைவி, கேதோரின் தகப்பன் யாரேத்தையும், சோக்கோவின் தகப்பன் ஏபேரையும், சனோவாவின் தகப்பன் எக்குத்தியேலையும் பெற்றாள். இவர்கள் மேரேத் திருமணம் செய்திருந்த பார்வோனின் மகள் பித்தையாளின் பிள்ளைகள்.
And his wife the Jewess bore Jered the father of Gedor, and Heber the father of Soco, and Jekuthiel the father of Zanoah. And these are the sons of Bithiah the daughter of Pharaoh, whom Mered took.
19 நாகாமின் சகோதரியான ஒதியாவின் மனைவியின் மகன்கள்: கர்மியனான கேயிலாவின் தகப்பனும், மாகாத்தியனான எஸ்தெமோவாவின் தகப்பனும்.
And the sons of the wife of Hodiah, the sister of Naham, were the fathers of Keilah the Garmite, and Eshtemoa the Maacathite.
20 ஷீமோனின் மகன்கள்: அம்னோன், ரின்னா, பென்கானான், தீலோன். இஷியின் சந்ததிகள்: சோகேது, பென்சோகேது.
And the sons of Shimon: Amnon, and Rinnah, Ben-hanan, and Tilon. And the sons of Ishi: Zoheth, and Ben-zoheth.
21 யூதாவின் மகனான சேலாக்கின் மகன்கள்: லேகாவின் தகப்பன் ஏர், மரேஷாவின் தகப்பன் லாதா என்பவர்களும், பெத் அஸ்பெயாவிலுள்ள மென்பட்டு புடவைத் தொழிலாளிகளின் வம்சங்களும்,
The sons of Shelah the son of Judah: Er the father of Lecah, and Laadah the father of Mareshah, and the families of the house of those who worked fine linen, of the house of Ashbea;
22 யோக்கீமும், கோசேபாவின் மனிதர்களும், மோவாபிலும், ஆட்சி செய்த யோவாஸ், சாராப் ஆகியோரும், யசுபிலேகேமுமே; இவை யாவும் பூர்வகாலத்தில் பதிவு செய்யப்பட்டவை.
and Jokim, and the men of Cozeba, and Joash, and Saraph, who had dominion in Moab, and Jashubilehem. And the records are ancient.
23 நெத்தாயீம், கெதேராவிலும் வாழ்ந்த இவர்கள் எல்லோரும் குயவர்கள்; இவர்கள் அங்கு தங்கி அரசனுக்கு வேலை செய்துவந்தனர்.
These were the potters, and the inhabitants of Netaim and Gederah. They dwelt there with the king for his work.
24 சிமியோனின் சந்ததிகள்: நெமுயேல், யாமின், யாரீப், சேரா, சாவூல்;
The sons of Simeon: Nemuel, and Jamin, Jarib, Zerah, Shaul;
25 சாவூலின் மகன் சல்லூம், இவனது மகன் மிப்சாம் இவனது மகன் மிஸ்மா என்பவர்கள்.
Shallum his son, Mibsam his son, Mishma his son.
26 மிஸ்மாவின் சந்ததிகள்: அவனுடைய மகன் அம்முயேல், இவனது மகன் சக்கூர், இவனது மகன் சீமேயி.
And the sons of Mishma: Hammuel his son, Zaccur his son, Shimei his son.
27 சீமேயிக்கு பதினாறு மகன்களும் ஆறு மகள்களும் இருந்தனர். ஆனால் இவனது சகோதரர்களுக்கு அநேகம் பிள்ளைகள் இருக்கவில்லை; அதனால் யூதா மக்களைப்போல் இவர்களது முழு வம்சமும் பெருகியிருக்கவில்லை.
And Shimei had sixteen sons and six daughters, but his brothers did not have many sons, neither did all their family multiply like the sons of Judah.
28 அவர்கள் பெயெர்செபா, மொலாதா, ஆத்சார்சூவால்,
And they dwelt at Beersheba, and Moladah, and Hazarshual,
29 பில்கா, ஏத்சேம், தோலாத்,
and at Bilhah, and at Ezem, and at Tolad,
30 பெத்துயேல், ஓர்மா, சிக்லாகு,
and at Bethuel, and at Hormah, and at Ziklag,
31 பெத்மார்காபோத், ஆத்சார்சூசிம், பெத்பிரி, சாராயிம் ஆகிய இடங்களில் வாழ்ந்துவந்தனர். தாவீது அரசனாகும்வரை இந்தப் பட்டணங்களெல்லாம் அவர்களுக்குரியதாகவே இருந்தன.
and at Beth-marcaboth, and Hazar-susim, and at Beth-biri, and at Shaaraim. These were their cities to the reign of David.
32 அவற்றுடன் ஏத்தாம், ஆயின், ரிம்மோன், தோகேன், ஆஷான் ஆகிய ஐந்து பட்டணங்களைச் சுற்றியிருந்த கிராமங்களும் ஆகும்.
And their villages were Etam, and Ain, Rimmon, and Tochen, and Ashan, five cities.
33 இந்தப் பட்டணங்களைச் சுற்றியிருந்த கிராமங்கள் பாகால்வரை பரந்திருந்தது. இந்த இடங்களே அவர்களுடைய குடியிருப்புகள். இவர்கள் தங்கள் வம்சாவழி அட்டவணையும் வைத்திருந்தார்கள்:
And all their villages that were round about the same cities, to Baal. These were their habitations, and they have their genealogy.
34 மெசோபாபு, யம்லேக், அமத்சியாவின் மகன் யோஷா,
And Meshobab, and Jamlech, and Joshah the son of Amaziah,
35 யோயேல், ஆசியேலின் மகனான செராயாவுக்குப் பிறந்த யோசிபியாவின் மகன் யெகூ,
and Joel, and Jehu the son of Joshibiah, the son of Seraiah, the son of Asiel,
36 அத்துடன் எலியோனாய், யாக்கோபா, யெசொகாயா, அசாயா, ஆதியேல், யெசிமியேல், பெனாயா,
and Elioenai, and Jaakobah, and Jeshohaiah, and Asaiah, and Adiel, and Jesimiel, and Benaiah,
37 செமாயாவின் மகன் சிம்ரி, அவனுடைய மகன் யெதாயா, அவனுடைய மகன் அல்லோன், அவனுடைய மகன் சிப்பி, சிப்பியின் மகனான சீசா ஆகியோருமே.
and Ziza the son of Shiphi, the son of Allon, the son of Jedaiah, the son of Shimri, the son of Shemaiah-
38 இப்பெயர்களையுடையவர்கள் வம்சங்களில் தலைவர்களாயிருந்தார்கள். இவர்களின் குடும்பங்கள் அதிகமதிகமாய்ப் பெருகின.
these mentioned by name were rulers in their families, and their fathers' houses increased greatly.
39 அவர்கள் தங்கள் மந்தைகளுக்கு மேய்ச்சலைத் தேடி கேதோரின் எல்லையான பள்ளத்தாக்கின் கிழக்குப் பகுதிக்குச் சென்றனர்.
And they went to the entrance of Gedor, even to the east side of the valley, to seek pasture for their flocks.
40 அங்கே அவர்கள் மிகச் செழிப்பான மேய்ச்சலுக்குரிய இடத்தைக் கண்டனர். அந்த நிலம் விசாலமானதும், சமாதானமும் அமைதியுமுடையதுமாக இருந்தது. அங்கே காமியர் சிலர் முற்காலத்தில் வாழ்ந்திருந்தனர்.
And they found lush and good pasture, and the land was wide and quiet and peaceable, for those who dwelt there formerly were of Ham.
41 மேற்கூறப்பட்ட பெயர்களையுடைய இவர்கள், யூதாவில் எசேக்கியா அரசன் ஆட்சி செய்த காலத்தில் அங்கு வந்தார்கள். அவர்கள் அங்கு குடியிருந்த காமியர்களை அவர்களுடைய இடங்களில் தாக்கி, மெயூனியரையும் இன்றுவரை இருப்பதுபோல் முழுவதும் அழித்துவிட்டார்கள். பின்பு அவர்கள் அங்கே தங்கள் மந்தைகளுக்கு மேய்ச்சலுக்கு உகந்த வளமான இடம் இருந்ததினால் குடியேறினர்.
And these written by name came in the days of Hezekiah king of Judah, and smote their tents, and the Meunim who were found there, and destroyed them utterly to this day, and dwelt in their stead because there was pasture there for their flocks.
42 பின்பு சிமியோனியரில் ஐந்நூறு பேரும், இஷியின் மகன்களான பெலத்தியா, நெயெரியா, ரெப்பாயா, ஊசியேல் ஆகியோரின் தலைமையின்கீழ் போய் சேயீர் மலைநாட்டைத் தாக்கினார்கள்.
And some of them, even of the sons of Simeon, five hundred men, went to mount Seir, having for their captains Pelatiah, and Neariah, and Rephaiah, and Uzziel, the sons of Ishi.
43 அங்கே தப்பி ஓடிப்போய் மறைந்திருந்த அமலேக்கியரை அவர்கள் கொன்று, அவர்கள் இந்நாள்வரைக்கும் அங்கேயே வாழ்கிறார்கள்.
And they smote the remnant of the Amalekites who escaped, and have dwelt there to this day.
