1 அரசர்கள் போருக்குச் செல்லும் வசந்தகாலத்தில் யோவாப் தனது ஆயுதம் தாங்கிய படைக்குத் தலைமை தாங்கிச் சென்றான். அவன் அம்மோனியரின் நாட்டை பாழாக்கி ரப்பாவுக்குச் சென்று அதை முற்றுகையிட்டான். ஆனால் தாவீது எருசலேமில் இருந்து விட்டான். யோவாப் ரப்பாவைத் தாக்கி அதைப் பாழிடமாக்கினான்.

He blasphemed Israel. And Jonathan, the son of Shimea, the brother of David, struck him down.

8 இவர்களும் காத் என்னும் இடத்தில் இருந்த ரப்பாவின் இராட்சத சந்ததியைச் சேர்ந்தவர்கள். இவர்கள் தாவீதின் கையினாலும் அவனுடைய மனிதர்களின் கைகளினாலும் கொல்லப்பட்டார்கள்.
