1 சிறிது காலத்தின்பின் தாவீது பெலிஸ்தியரை முறியடித்து அவர்களைக் கீழ்ப்படுத்தினான். அவன் பெலிஸ்தியரின் கட்டுப்பாட்டிற்குள் இருந்த காத் பட்டணத்தையும், அதைச் சேர்ந்த கிராமங்களையும் கைப்பற்றினான்.
And it comes to pass after this, that David strikes the Philistines, and humbles them, and takes Gath and its small towns out of the hand of the Philistines;
2 அதோடு தாவீது மோவாபியரையும் தோற்கடித்தான். எனவே அவர்கள் தாவீதின் ஆட்சிக்குக் கீழ்ப்பட்டு காணிக்கை செலுத்திவந்தார்கள்.
and he strikes Moab, and the Moabites are servants to David, bringing a present.
3 மேலும் சோபாவின் அரசன் ஆதாதேசர் தனது அதிகாரத்தை யூப்ரட்டீஸ் நதி பிரதேசத்தில் நிலைநாட்ட போனபோது, தாவீது அவனுடன் ஆமாத்வரை போரிட்டான்.
And David strikes Hadarezer king of Zobah, at Hamath, in his going to establish his power by the Euphrates River,
4 தாவீது அவனிடமிருந்த ஆயிரம் தேர்களையும், ஏழாயிரம் தேர் ஓட்டிகளையும், இருபதாயிரம் காலாட்படையினரையும் கைப்பற்றினான். அவன் நூறு தேர்க்குதிரைகளை மட்டும் வைத்துக்கொண்டு மற்றெல்லாக் குதிரைகளின் பின்தொடை நரம்புகளை வெட்டி முடமாக்கினான்.
and David captures from him one thousand chariots, and seven thousand horsemen, and twenty thousand footmen, and David utterly destroys all the chariots, and leaves of them [only] one hundred chariots.
5 சோபாவின் அரசன் ஆதாதேசருக்கு உதவும்படி தமஸ்குவைச் சேர்ந்த சீரியர் வந்தபோது, தாவீது அவர்களில் இருபத்திரண்டாயிரம் பேரை வெட்டிப்போட்டான்.
And Aram of Damascus comes to give help to Hadarezer king of Zobah, and David strikes twenty-two thousand men in Aram,
6 அவன் தமஸ்குவிலுள்ள சீரியரின் ஆட்சிக்குட்பட்ட பகுதியில் கோட்டை காவலாளர்களை நிறுத்தினான். சீரியர்கள் தாவீதின் ஆட்சிக்குட்பட்டு காணிக்கை செலுத்தினார்கள். இவ்வாறு யெகோவா தாவீது போன இடமெல்லாம் அவனுக்கு வெற்றியைக் கொடுத்தார்.
and David puts [garrisons] in Aram of Damascus, and the Arameans are for servants to David, carrying a present, and YHWH gives salvation to David wherever he has gone.
7 ஆதாதேசரின் அதிகாரிகளிடமிருந்து தனது தங்கக் கேடயங்களை தாவீது எடுத்து எருசலேமுக்குக் கொண்டுவந்தான்.
And David takes the shields of gold that have been on the servants of Hadarezer, and brings them to Jerusalem;
8 ஆதாதேசருக்குச் சொந்தமான திபாத், கூன் பட்டணங்களிலிருந்து தாவீது அதிக அளவு வெண்கலங்களைக் கொண்டுவந்தான். இவற்றிலிருந்துதான் பின்னர் சாலொமோன் வெண்கல பெருந்தொட்டியையும், தூண்களையும், இன்னும் பலரகமான வெண்கலப் பொருட்களையும் செய்தான்.
and from Tibhath, and from Chun, cities of Hadarezer, David has taken very much bronze; with it Solomon has made the bronze sea, and the pillars, and the vessels of bronze.
9 தாவீது சோபாவின் அரசன் ஆதாதேசரின் படையனைத்தையும் முறியடித்த செய்தியை ஆமாத்தின் அரசன் தோயூ கேள்விப்பட்டான்.
And Tou king of Hamath hears that David has struck the whole force of Hadarezer king of Zobah,
10 அப்பொழுது தாவீது அரசன் ஆதாதேசருடன் சண்டையிட்டு வெற்றிபெற்றமைக்காக, தோயூ அரசன் தன் மகன் அதோராமை தனது வாழ்த்துக்களையும் பாராட்டுக்களையும் தெரிவிக்கும்படி அனுப்பினான். எனவே அதோராம் தங்கத்தினாலும், வெள்ளியினாலும் செய்யப்பட்ட பொருட்களை எடுத்துக்கொண்டு வந்தான்.
and he sends his son Hadoram to King David, to ask of him of peace, and to bless him, because that he has fought against Hadarezer and strikes him (for Hadarezer had been a man of wars with Tou); and [with him were] all kinds of vessels, of gold, and silver, and bronze;
11 தாவீது அரசன் தான் ஏதோமியர், மோவாபியர், அம்மோனியர், பெலிஸ்தியர், அமலேக்கியர் ஆகிய எல்லா நாட்டினரிடமிருந்து கொண்டுவந்த வெள்ளியையும் தங்கத்தையும் யெகோவாவுக்கு ஒப்புக்கொடுத்திருந்தான். அதுபோலவே இந்தப் பொருட்களையும் யெகோவாவுக்கு ஒப்புக்கொடுத்தான்.
King David has also sanctified them to YHWH with the silver and the gold that he has taken from all the nations, from Edom, and from Moab, and from the sons of Ammon, and from the Philistines, and from Amalek.
12 செருயாவின் மகன் அபிசாயி உப்புப் பள்ளத்தாக்கிலே பதினெட்டாயிரம் ஏதோமியரை வெட்டிப்போட்டான்.
And Abishai son of Zeruiah has struck Edom in the Valley of Salt—eighteen thousand,
13 அவன் ஏதோமிலே காவல் படைகளை நிறுத்தினான். எல்லா ஏதோமியரும் தாவீதுக்குக் கீழ்ப்பட்டு இருந்தார்கள். தாவீது சென்ற இடமெல்லாம் யெகோவா அவனுக்கு வெற்றியைக் கொடுத்தார்.
and he puts garrisons in Edom, and all the Edomites are servants to David; and YHWH saves David wherever he has gone.
14 தாவீது தனது எல்லா மக்களுக்கும் நீதியும் நியாயமும் செய்து, இஸ்ரயேலர் அனைவரையும் ஆட்சிசெய்தான்.
And David reigns over all Israel, and he is doing judgment and righteousness to all his people,
15 செருயாவின் மகன் யோவாப் படைகளுக்குத் தலைவனாயிருந்தான்; அகிலூதின் மகன் யோசபாத் பதிவாளனாயிருந்தான்.
and Joab son of Zeruiah [is] over the host, and Jehoshaphat son of Ahilud [is] remembrancer,
16 அகிதூபின் மகன் சாதோக்கும், அபியத்தாரின் மகன் அபிமெலேக்கும் ஆசாரியர்களாய் இருந்தார்கள். சவிஷா என்பவன் செயலாளராக இருந்தான்.
and Zadok son of Ahitub and Abimelech son of Abiathar [are] priests, and Shavsha [is] scribe,
17 யோய்தாவின் மகன் பெனாயா கிரேத்தியருக்கும், பிலேத்தியருக்கும் தலைவனாயிருந்தான். தாவீதின் மகன்கள் அரசனின் பிரதான அதிகாரிகளாய் அரசனின் பக்கத்தில் இருந்தார்கள்.
and Benaiah son of Jehoiada [is] over the Cherethite and the Pelethite, and the chief sons of David [are] at the hand of the king.
