1 Ngo tvvkadunv, Vbvrikunamv: Pwknvyarnv ninyigv atubogv nyi am tulatua supv kunvre? Maa vdwloka tua mare! Ngo kadv Israel lo nyi ngv, Abraham gv husi lokv, Benjamin aralo vpin gonv lokvnv.
I SAY then, Hath God rejected his people? God forbid. For I also am an Israelite, of the seed of Abraham, of the tribe of Benjamin.
2 Pwknvyarnv atubogv nyi am tulatua sula rimapvnv, oogv atuake lo gakchola rinam vdwa. Elija gv Pwknvyarnv gvlo Israel vdwgv lvkwnglo dinchi rungbv kumnam am Darwknv kitap arwnglo ogolo oguv vla milwkpvdw nonuno chindu:
God hath not rejected his people whom he foreknew. Know ye not what the scripture saith of Elias? how he maketh intercession with God against Israel, saying,
3 “Ahtua, bunu vdwv noogv nyijwk vdwa mvki nyaroku okv noogv yogwngmvrwng vdwaka toyaktopak jitoku; ngo mvngchik doomwng dukunv, okv bunu ngaaka mvki dubv gwngnya duku.”
“Lord, they have killed thy prophets, and digged down thine altars; and I only am left, and they seek my life.”
4 Pwknvyarnv oguvla ninyi mirwk jitoku? “Oogv jvjvmanv baal vnam Pwknvyarnv nga kumabv doonv hejar kanw nyi blvgo ngo gvbv vvchingvmu pvvtoku.”
But what saith the oracle of God to him? “I have left to myself seven thousand men who have not bowed the knee to Baal.”
5 Vjaka oogv aingbv: Vkvlvgavbolo ninyigv anyuaya lokv okaka Pwknvyarnv gv gakdam pvla kayu pvnamv meechinggo doodu.
So then at this present time also there is a remnant according to the election of grace.
6 Ninyigv anyuaya lokv hv gakdunv, bunu ogugo ridudw ho rinam lokv rima doonv. Holvgabv Pwknvyarnv gv gaknamv nyi vdwgv rinam am ogugo ridudw, vbvrikubolo ninyigv anyuaya ngv jvjvklvnv ayabv riku madu kunv.
But if by grace, it is no more by works: otherwise grace is no more grace. But if by works, it is no more grace: otherwise work is no more work.
7 Vbvrikubolo ogubv rireku? Israel gv nyi vdwv oogv lvgabv kaakarto vbvrijvka bunu mapa kuma toku. Pwknvyarnv gv yvvnyi gakpvdw vv mvngchik nyitwng twngching gonv paamwng toku; ho kvvbi vdwv Pwknvyarnv gv goknam am ronji kunvbv rinya toku.
What then is the result? Israel hath not obtained that which it seeketh; but the election hath obtained it, and the rest were blinded,
8 Darwknv kitap vbv mindu, “Pwknvyarnv bunugv tuktum okv haapok am pvcha dubv mvtoku; silu lodvbv bunu tvvla madunv okv kaapa madunv.”
as it is written, “God hath given them the spirit of slumber, eyes that they should not see, and ears that they should not hear; unto this present day.”
9 Okv Dabid minto, “Bunu vdwa laatung riku okv bunugv dvmintvngmin kolo kuplwk laariku; bunu vdwa gilu moriku, bunu vdwa mvritririt lariku!
And David saith, “Let their table be for a snare, and for a trap, and for a stumbling-block, and for a recompence unto them:
10 Bunugv nyik am nyikmv molaka vkvlvgavbolo ho bunu kaapa nyola madu kubv.” Okv bunua dvbvdwki bv adwkaku gv arwnglo doomu toka.
let their eyes be blinded, that they may not see, and bow down their back continually.”
11 Ngo tvvkadunv, vbvrikubolo: vdwlo Jius vdwv dwktup kubvdw, bunugv dwktup pakulo bunu gilu ngopvkui? Vbv lokvma! ogulvgavbolo bunu rimur duku, vkvlvgabv turnamv Jentail lo aaduku, Jius vdwa bunua kavtav modu.
I say then, Have they stumbled so as to fall? God forbid: but by their stumbling salvation is come to the Gentiles, to provoke them to jealousy.
12 Jius vdwgv rimur namv nyiamookulo achialvbv boktalwkji la laalwk toku, okv bunugv yalu lo heema kunamv Jentail vdwgvlo achialvbv boktalwkji la laalwk toku. Vbvrikunamv, vdwlo Jius nyi vdwaka aatala rita kubolo boktalwkji kunamv vdwgobv kaila rireku!
For if their stumbling is the riches of the world, and their diminution the riches of the Gentiles; how much more their fulness?
13 Jentail vdwa ngo nonua vjak mindung dunv si: Ngo Jentail lo Apostol ako bv ribvdobv ridw, ngoogv atubogv kudungkua lo ngo goosure.
For I address myself to you Gentiles; inasmuch as I am indeed the apostle of the Gentiles, I exalt my ministry:
14 Lvkonyika ngo atubogv nyi gv lokvya kavtav dubv mvla nyola ridw okv vbvridula bunua achok godaka turmu nyola modubv vla.
if by any means I might provoke to jealousy my flesh, and save some of them.
15 Holvgabv bunu vdwlo tulatua kubvdw, ho kvvbi nyi mvnwng ngv Pwknvyarnv gv nyiru la rikunam lokv angusibv mvngdar lakula ajin bv ritoku. Vv oguaingbv rireku, vbvrikubolo, vdwlo bunu laarwk sirekudw? Vv sinam gv lvgabv turekudw!
For if the rejection of them is the reconciliation of the world, what shall their recovery be, but life from the dead?
16 Vtwng gv patung achok go Pwknvyarnvnyi jichobolo, vbvrikubolo vv vtwng mvnwng ngv ninyigvbv ridukunv; okv singnv nvgonyi miami am Pwknvyarnvnyi tamji bolo, akda vka ninyigvbv ridukunv.
Now if the first fruits be holy, so is the mass: and if the root be holy, so are the branches.
17 Olib singnv gv akda nga twngla twngnga bolo, okv mootum gv olib singnv akda vv vktur sidukunv. Nonu Jentail nyi vdwv oogv mootum lo doonv olib singnv aingbv ridu, okv nonu Jius vdwgv maatar bv darwkchongjor jvnv turnam baago bv ridukunv.
But if some of the branches have been broken off, and thou though a wild olive hast been grafted in among them, and become a partaker of the root and fatness of the olive tree;
18 Vkvlvgabv nonu oogv akda dartungnv aingbv rinv vdwa tvvlik la riyoka. Nonu oguaingbv kai mvngsu nyola nvpv? Nonu akda daagv aingching bv rimwng dunv; nonu miami am vngdwng momado—miami vv nonua vngdwng moduku.
boast not against the branches. But if thou boast, thou bearest not the root, but the root thee.
19 Vbvritola nonu mire, “um vmabvdv, vbvritola akda ngv darmwkdarmak moroku sum ngoogv lvgabv dooku mvnv dukubv.”
Wilt thou say then, The branches were broken off, that I might be grafted in?
20 Vv jvjvrung. Bunu palin la paa duku ogulvgavbolo bunu mvngjwng marung jidu, nonugv mooku hoka doori lo ogulvgavbolo mvngjwng yala ridu. Vbvritola nonu holvgabv kai mvngsu yoka; vbvmabvya, busula ritoka.
Admitted; by unbelief they were broken off, and thou standest by faith. Be not high minded, but fear:
21 Pwknvyarnv Jius vdwa vbv kayu mabv rito, klugv oogv singnv akda doodung sinv aingbv rinv aka; nonuno vbv hv nonua kayu invpv mvngdure?
for if God spared not the native branches, tremble lest he spare not thee.
22 Ngonu kakakunamv Pwknvyarnv vdwgo aya nvgobv okv akortor rungnv gobvka ridu. Oogv yvvdw gilu dukunv um Pwknvyarnv holvgabv akortor dukunv, vbvritola nonua aya duku—nonu ninyigv aya nga dubv mola riyidw. Vbvritola nonuno doomu la rima bolo, nooka vbvching darmwkdarmak la darra rikunvpv.
Behold therefore the kindness and severity of God: to those indeed who fell, severity; but unto thee, kindness, if thou continuest in that kindness: otherwise thou also shalt be cut off.
23 Okv vdwlo Jius vdwv bunugv mvngjwng manama kayu kubolo, bunu kvvlo ogolo ridudakdu kudw ho bunu vdwa laakur reku; holvgabv Pwknvyarnv vbvka riladubv gwlwk vv doodunv.
But they also, if they continue not in unbelief, shall be grafted in: for God is able to graft them in again.
24 Jentail vdw nonuno oogv mootum lo olib singnv akda dartungnv aingbv ridunv okv vbvrikunamv, vbv klu akdung bv rimanv, vv rongo mvngit nam olib singnv ho vksit sidunv. Jius vdwv soogv rongo mvngit nam olib singnv bv ridu; okv Pwknvyarnv gv lvgabv olib singnv akda darkunv um atubogv kvvlogv singnv aingbv mvdukubv vksit sipu yala ridunv.
For if thou hast been cut out of the naturally wild olive, and contrary to nature hast been grafted into the good olive: how much more shall these, which are native branches, be grafted into their own olive tree?
25 Jvjv rungnv go arwng hoka doodu, ngokv ajin vdwv, oogv nam ngo chimuso mvngnam go, holvgabv so si nonua kairungbv chinvpanv go vla mvngsu momare. Si vbvridunv si Israel nyi vdwgv mvngdin lamanv doonamv doobv kumare, vbvrilachin anyungjvngaku Jentail nyi vdwv Pwknvyarnv gvlo aangam ma daadwbv doodvre.
For I would not that you should be ignorant, brethren, of this mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits; that blindness in part is come on Israel, until the fulness of the Gentiles be come in.
26 Okv si ogubvrijvka Israel mvnwng ngv ringlin rikunv. Vbv Darwknv kitap mindu, “Ringnv ngv Jayon lokv aare okv Jakop gv haatar lo alvmanv dvdv nga mvlamva riku.
And so all Israel shall be saved: as it is written, “The Deliverer shall go forth out of Sion, and shalt turn away ungodliness from Jacob;
27 Ngo soogv milvpvvnam sum bunua pvvjire vdwlo ngo bunugv rimur am laapak jire kudw.”
and this is my covenant with them, When I shall take away their sins.”
28 Ogulvgavbolo bunu alvnv yunying nga tulatua nyadula, holvgabv Jentail vdwgv lvgabv jius vdwv Pwknvyarnv gv nyiru bv ridu. Vbvrilachin bunu Pwknvyarnv gv gaknam bv ridunv ogulvgavbolo, bunugv abuapa vdwgv lvkwnglo bunu Pwknvyarnv gv ajin bv silu lodvbv ridu.
As concerning the gospel indeed, they are now enemies for your sakes: as concerning the election, they are beloved for the fathers’ sake.
29 Holvgabv Pwknvyarnv yvvnyi hv gakdam lvjv pvkudw okv boktalwkji pvkudw um vdwloka ninyigv mvngnam am mvngkap mvngngv kuma dunv.
For unchangeable are the gifts and the calling of God.
30 Jentail vdw nonuno lvgabv mimbolo, kvvlo atuake lo Pwknvyarnv gv minam am nonuno tvvmabv rito; vbvritola nonuno vjak Pwknvyarnv gv aya nga laarwk sila riduku ogulvgavbolo Jius nyi vdwv Pwknvyarnv gv gaam am tvvma kunam lvgabv.
For as ye also in times past did not believe in God, but now have obtained mercy through their unbelief:
31 Oogv apiabv, aya nama nonuno laarwk sipaduku ogulvgavbolo Jius vdwv vjak Pwknvyarnvnyi tvvku manam lvgalo, vbvrinam aingbv bunuka vjak Pwknvyarnv gv aya nga laarwk sipa laduku.
so also these now have not believed in your mercy, that they also might obtain mercy.
32 Holvgabv Pwknvyarnv vjak minam tvvmabv doonv vdwa patwk arwng lo doonam jvbv mvtoku, vkvlvgavbolo bunua mvnwng nga Pwknvyarnv gv aya nga kaatam pvkunam lvgabv mvto. (eleēsē g1653)
For God hath shut up all in unbelief, that he might have mercy upon all. (eleēsē g1653)
33 Pwknvyarnv gv nyitv ngv vdwgo kairungdu! Ninyigv mvngkimvnglak okv chinampanamv vdwgo arwng dukudw? Yvvka mirimimpa sila jinyo ridw? Yvvka ninyigv lamtv nga mvngchin nyolakre?
O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! how unsearchable are his judgments, and how incomprehensible his ways!
34 Darwknv kitap vbv mindu, “Yvvdw Ahtu gv mongrumara nga chinyu redw? Yvvdw ninyia tamsar minsu lajinv?
For who hath known the mind of the Lord, or who hath been admitted his counsellor?
35 Yvvkudw ninyia ogugo jimi sila kujinv, vkvlvgavbolo hv um jirwk sila dukubv?”
Or who hath first given unto him, and it shall be repaid him again?
