Amos 7

1 Ito ang ipinakita sa akin ng Panginoong si Yahweh. Tingnan, lumikha siya ng isang pulutong ng mga balang nang magsimula ang tagsibol ng mga pananim, at, tingnan, ito ang huling pananim pagkatapos ng pag-ani ng hari.

Here, My Lord, Yahweh gave me to see, and lo! he was preparing the locust, in the beginning of the shooting up of the after-grass, —and lo! after-grass, cometh after the mowings for the king.

2 Nang matapos nitong kainin ang mga halaman sa lupain, pagkatapos sinabi ko, “Panginoong Yahweh, isinasamo ko patawarin mo sila; paano makaliligtas si Jacob? sapagkat napakaliit niya.”

And it came to pass, when they had made an end of eating the herbage of the land, that I said—Oh, My Lord, Yahweh, forgive, I beseech thee: By whom shall Jacob, arise? for, small, he is.

3 Nahabag si Yahweh tungkol dito. “Hindi ito mangyayari,” sinabi niya.

Grieved was Yahweh, over this, —It shall not be, said Yahweh?

4 Ito ang ipinakita sa akin ng Panginoong Yahweh: Tingnan, tumawag ang Panginoong Yahweh ng apoy upang humatol. Tinuyo nito ang napakalawak, malalim na tubig sa ilalim ng lupa at sisirain pati na rin ang kalupaan.

Here, My Lord, Yahweh gave me to see, and lo! My Lord Yahweh proclaiming that, the controversy should be settled by fire, —which, having devoured the mighty roaring deep, should devour the inheritance.

5 Ngunit sinabi ko, “Panginoong Yahweh, isinasamo ko na itigil mo na; paano makaliligtas si Jacob? Sapagkat napakaliit niya.”

Then said I, My Lord, Yahweh, forbear, I beseech thee, By whom shall Jacob, arise? for, small, he is.

6 Nahabag si Yahweh tungkol dito. “Hindi rin ito mangyayari,” sinabi ng Panginoong Yahweh.

Grieved was Yahweh, over this, —Even this, shall not be, said My Lord, Yahweh.

7 Ito ang ipinakita niya sa akin: Tingnan, nakatayo ang Panginoon sa gilid ng isang pader, na may isang hulog sa kaniyang kamay.

Here, he gave me to see, and lo! My Lord, stationed upon a pinnacle, —and, in his hand a plummet.

8 Sinabi ni Yahweh sa akin. “Amos, ano ang nakikita mo?” sinabi ko, “Isang hulog.” Pagkatapos sinabi ng Panginoon, “Tingnan mo, ilalagay ko ang isang hulog kasama ng aking mga taong Israelita. Hindi ko na sila kaaawaan pa.

And Yahweh said unto me, What canst thou see, Amos? And I said, A plummet, —Then said My Lord, Behold me! fixing a plummet in the midst of my people Israel, I will not again any more forgive him.

9 Mawawasak ang matataas na lugar ni Isaac, masisira ang mga santuwaryo ni Israel, at tatayo ako laban sa sambahayan ni Jeroboam na may kasamang espada.”

So shall the high places of Isaac, be made desolate, and, the holy places of Israel, be laid waste, —and I will rise up, against the house of Jeroboam, with the sword.

10 Pagkatapos si Amazias na pari ng Bethel, nagpadala ng isang mensahe kay Jeroboam na hari ng Israel: “Nakipagsabwatan si Amos laban sa iyo sa pagitan ng sambahayan ni Israel. Hindi kayang pasanin ng lupain ang lahat ng kaniyang mga salita.

Then sent Amaziah, the priest of Bethel, unto Jeroboam king of Israel, saying: A conspiracy hath Amos, raised against thee, in the midst of the house of Israel, The land, is not able to endure, all his words;

11 Sapagkat ito ang sinabi ni Amos: 'Mamamatay si Jeroboam sa pamamagitan ng espada, at tiyak na dadalhing bihag ang Israel palayo sa kaniyang lupain.”'

For, thus, saith Amos, By the sword, shall Jeroboam, die, —and, Israel, shall, surely be exiled, from off his own soil.

12 Sinabi ni Amazias kay Amos. “Propeta, humayo ka, tumakbo ka pabalik sa lupain ng Juda, at doon ka kumain ng tinapay at magpropesiya.

Then said Amaziah unto Amos, O seer, go flee thee away unto the land of Judah—and eat, there, bread, and, there, mayest thou prophesy;

13 Ngunit huwag ka ng magpropesiya pa kailanman dito sa Bethel, sapagkat ito ay santuwaryo ng hari at isang maharlikang tahanan.”

But, at Bethel, not again, any more, mayest thou prophesy, —for, the holy place of the king, it is, and, the house of the kingdom, it is.

14 Pagkatapos sinabi ni Amos kay Amazias, “Hindi ako isang propeta o anak ng isang propeta. Isa akong pastol, at ako ang nangangalaga sa mga puno ng sikamoro.

Then answered Amos, and said unto Amaziah, No prophet, was I, —nor the son of a prophet, was I, —but, a herdman, was I, and a preparer of sycamore fruit;

15 Ngunit kinuha ako ni Yahweh mula sa pagbabantay ng mga tupa at sinabi sa akin, 'Humayo ka, magpropesiya ka sa aking mga taong Israelita.'

But Yahweh, took me away, from following the flock, —and Yahweh, said unto me, Go prophesy against my people Israel.

16 Pakinggan mo ngayon ang salita ni Yahweh. Sinasabi mo, 'Huwag akong magpropesiya laban sa Israel, at huwag akong magsalita laban sa sambahayan ni Isaac.'

Now, therefore, hear thou the word of Yahweh, —Thou art saying, Thou must not prophesy concerning Israel, nor let thy word drop down upon the house of Isaac.

17 Samakatwid ito ang sinasabi ni Yahweh: 'Ang iyong asawa ay magiging babaing nagbebenta ng aliw sa lungsod; mamamatay sa pamamagitan ng espada ang iyong mga anak na lalaki at mga anak na babae; susukatin ang iyong mga lupain at paghahati-hatian; mamamatay ka sa maruming lupain, at tiyak na dadalhin sa pagkabihag ang Israel mula sa kaniyang lupain.”

Therefore—Thus, saith Yahweh, Thy wife, in the city, will commit unchastity, and, thy sons and thy daughters, by the sword, shall fall, and, thine own soil, by line, shall he apportioned, —and, thou, on a polluted soil, shalt die, and, Israel, shall, surely go into exile, away from his own soil.
