Mga Awit 118
1 Oh mangagpasalamat kayo sa Panginoon; sapagka't siya'y mabuti: sapagka't ang kaniyang kagandahang-loob ay magpakailan man.
Tell Yahweh that you thank him very much for the good [things that he has done for you] He faithfully loves [us, his people], forever.
2 Magsabi ngayon ang Israel, na ang kaniyang kagandahang-loob ay magpakailan man.
You Israeli [people] should [repeatedly] shout, “He faithfully loves [us, his people], forever!”
3 Magsabi ngayon ang sangbahayan ni Aaron, na ang kaniyang kagandahang-loob ay magpakailan man.
You [priests] who are descendants of Aaron should repeatedly shout, “He faithfully loves us, his people, forever!”
4 Mangagsabi ngayon ang nangatatakot sa Panginoon, na ang kaniyang kagandahang-loob ay magpakailan man.
All you who revere him should repeatedly shout, “He faithfully loves [us, his people], forever!”
5 Sa aking kapanglawan ay tumawag ako sa Panginoon: sinagot ako ng Panginoon, at inilagay ako sa maluwag na dako.
When I was distressed, I called out to Yahweh, and he answered me and set me free [from my worries/troubles].
6 Ang Panginoon ay kakampi ko; hindi ako matatakot: anong magagawa ng tao sa akin?
Yahweh is (on my side/helping me), so I will not be afraid [of anything]. No one [RHQ] can do anything that will [prevent God from blessing] me forever.
7 Ang Panginoon ay kakampi ko sa gitna nila na nagsisitulong sa akin: kaya't makikita ko ang nasa ko sa kanila na nangagtatanim sa akin.
[Yes], Yahweh is (on my side/helping me), [so] I will look triumphantly at my enemies [while he defeats them].
8 Lalong mabuti ang manganlong sa Panginoon kay sa maglagak ng tiwala sa tao.
It is better to trust in Yahweh than to (depend on/trust in) people.
9 Lalong mabuti ang manganlong sa Panginoon kay sa maglagak ng tiwala sa mga pangulo.
It is better to trust Yahweh to protect [us] than to trust [that influential/important] people [will protect us].
10 Kinubkob ako ng lahat ng mga bansa sa palibot: sa pangalan ng Panginoon ay aking ihihiwalay (sila)
Armies of [MTY] many nations surrounded me, [but] Yahweh enabled me to defeat them by his power [MTY].
11 Kanilang kinubkob ako sa palibot; oo, kanilang kinubkob ako sa palibot: sa pangalan ng Panginoon ay aking ihihiwalay (sila)
They completely surrounded me, [but] I defeated them all by the power of Yahweh.
12 Kanilang kinubkob ako sa palibot na parang mga pukyutan: sila'y nangamatay na parang apoy ng mga dawag: sa pangalan ng Panginoon ay aking ihihiwalay (sila)
They swarmed around me like [angry] bees; they were like a fire that blazes strongly, but only briefly, in a thornbush, [but] I defeated them by the power [MTY] that Yahweh gave me.
13 Itinulak mo akong bigla upang ako'y mabuwal: nguni't tulungan ako ng Panginoon.
[My enemies] attacked me fiercely and almost defeated me, but Yahweh helped me.
14 Ang Panginoon ay aking kalakasan at awit; at siya'y naging aking kaligtasan.
Yahweh is the one who makes me strong, and he is the one about whom I [always] sing; he has saved me [from my enemies].
15 Ang tinig ng kagalakan at kaligtasan ay nasa mga tolda ng matuwid: ang kanan ng Panginoon ay gumagawang matapang.
Listen to the joyful songs of victory being sung in the tents of godly/righteous people! They sing, “Yahweh has defeated our enemies by his mighty power [MTY];
16 Ang kanan ng Panginoon ay nabunyi; ang kanan ng Panginoon ay gumagawang matapang.
he has raised his strong right arm [to show he has defeated his enemies]. Yahweh has completely defeated them!”
17 Hindi ako mamamatay, kundi mabubuhay, at magpapahayag ng mga gawa ng Panginoon.
I will not be killed [in battle]; I will live to proclaim the great things that Yahweh has done.
18 Pinarusahan akong mainam ng Panginoon; nguni't hindi niya ako ibinigay sa kamatayan.
Yahweh has punished me severely, but he has not allowed (me to die/[my enemies] to kill me).
19 Buksan ninyo sa akin ang mga pintuan ng katuwiran; aking papasukan, ako'y magpapasalamat sa Panginoon.
[You gatekeepers], open for me the gates of the temple in order that I may enter and thank Yahweh.
20 Ito'y siyang pintuan ng Panginoon; papasukan ng matuwid.
Those are the gates [through which we enter the temple to worship] Yahweh; godly/righteous people enter those gates.
21 Ako'y magpapasalamat sa iyo, sapagka't sinagot mo ako! At ikaw ay naging aking kaligtasan.
[Yahweh], I thank you that you answered my prayer, and you saved me [from my enemies].
22 Ang bato na itinakuwil ng nangagtayo ng bahay ay naging pangulo sa sulok.
[Yahweh’s promised/chosen king is like] [MET] the stone which the builders rejected [when they were building a house], [but that stone] became the (cornerstone/most important stone in the building).
23 Ito ang gawa ng Panginoon: kagilagilalas sa harap ng ating mga mata.
(This was done by Yahweh/Yahweh has done this), and it is a wonderful thing for us to see.
24 Ito ang araw na ginawa ng Panginoon; tayo'y mangagagalak at ating katutuwaan.
This is the day in which [we remember that] Yahweh acted [powerfully to defeat our enemies]; we will rejoice and be glad/happy today.
25 Magligtas ka ngayon, isinasamo namin sa iyo, Oh Panginoon: Oh Panginoon, isinasamo namin sa iyo, magsugo ka ngayon ng kaginhawahan.
Yahweh, we plead with you to [keep] rescuing us [from our enemies]. Yahweh, please help us (accomplish/do well) [what we want to do].
26 Mapalad siya na dumarating sa pangalan ng Panginoon: aming pinuri kayo mula sa bahay ng Panginoon.
Yahweh, bless the one who will come with your authority [MTY]. And from the temple we (bless/[ask Yahweh to] bless) all of you.
27 Ang Panginoon ay Dios, at binigyan niya kami ng liwanag; talian ninyo ang hain ng mga panali, sa makatuwid baga'y sa mga tila sungay ng dambana.
Yahweh is God, and he has caused his light to shine on us. Come, carrying [palm] branches, and join the people [who are starting] the festival as they go to the altar.
28 Ikaw ay aking Dios, at magpapasalamat ako sa iyo: ikaw ay aking Dios, aking ibubunyi ka.
[Yahweh], you are the God whom I [worship], and I will praise you! You are my God, and I will tell [everyone] that you are great!
29 Oh mangagpasalamat kayo sa Panginoon, sapagka't siya'y mabuti: sapagka't ang kaniyang kagandahang-loob ay magpakailan man.
Thank Yahweh, because he does good things [for us] He will faithfully love [us] forever.
