1 Mga Cronica 15
1 At gumawa si David ng mga bahay sa bayan ni David; at ipinaghanda niya ng isang dako ang kaban ng Dios, at ipinaglagay roon ng isang tolda.
David [commanded his workers to] build some houses for him in Jerusalem. He also told them to set up a tent in which to put the Sacred Chest.
2 Nang magkagayo'y sinabi ni David, Walang makapagdadala ng kaban ng Dios kundi ang mga Levita: sapagka't sila ang pinili ng Panginoon upang magsipagdala ng kaban ng Dios, at upang mangasiwa sa kaniya magpakailan man.
He said, “Only the descendants of Levi are permitted to carry God’s Sacred Chest, because they are the ones whom God chose to carry it and to serve him forever.”
3 At pinisan ni David ang buong Israel sa Jerusalem, upang iahon ang kaban ng Panginoon sa dakong pinaghandaan.
David summoned all the people of Israel to come to Jerusalem. He wanted the Sacred Chest of Yahweh to be put in the place that he had made for it.
4 At pinisan ni David ang mga anak ni Aaron, at ang mga Levita:
He summoned the descendants of Aaron, [who was the first Supreme Priest, ] and the other descendants of Levi.
5 Sa mga anak ni Coath: si Uriel na pinuno, at ang kaniyang mga kapatid, isang daan at dalawangpu;
120 descendants of Kohath, who was Levi’s second son, came, with Uriel their leader.
6 Sa mga anak ni Merari: si Asaias na pinuno, at ang kaniyang mga kapatid, dalawang daan at dalawangpu;
There were 220 descendants of Merari, Levi’s third son, who came, with Asaiah their leader.
7 Sa mga anak ni Gersom: si Joel na pinuno, at ang kaniyang mga kapatid, isang daan at tatlongpu;
There were 130 descendants of Gershon, Levi’s first son, who came, with Joel their leader.
8 Sa mga anak ni Elisaphan: si Semeias na pinuno, at ang kaniyang mga kapatid, dalawang daan:
There were 200 people from Elizaphan’s clan who came, with Shemaiah their leader.
9 Sa mga anak ni Hebron: si Eliel na pinuno, at ang kaniyang mga kapatid, walongpu;
There were 80 people from Hebron’s clan who came, with Eliel their leader.
10 Sa mga anak ni Uzziel: si Aminadab na pinuno, at ang kaniyang mga kapatid, isang daan at labing dalawa.
And there were 112 people from Uzziel’s clan who came, with Amminadab their leader.
11 At ipinatawag ni David si Sadoc at si Abiathar na mga saserdote, at ang mga Levita, si Uriel, si Asaias, at si Joel, si Semeias, at si Eliel, at si Aminadab,
David summoned the priests Zadok and Abiathar and these [other] descendants of Levi: Uriel, Asaiah, Joel, Shemaiah, Eliel, and Amminadab.
12 At sinabi sa kanila, Kayo ang mga pinuno sa mga sangbahayan ng mga magulang ng mga Levita: magpakabanal kayo, at gayon din ang inyong mga kapatid, upang inyong maiahon ang kaban ng Panginoon, ng Dios ng Israel, hanggang sa dakong aking pinaghandaan.
David said to them, “You are the leaders of the clans descended from Levi. You and the other descendants of Levi must purify yourselves, in order to [be able to do this special work for Yahweh. You must] bring the Sacred Chest of Yahweh, the God of us Israelis, up to the place that I have made for it [here in Jerusalem].
13 Sapagka't dahil sa hindi ninyo dinala nang una, ang Panginoon nating Dios ay nagalit sa atin, sapagka't hindi natin hinanap siya ayon sa utos.
The first time that we tried to bring it, we did not ask Yahweh how we should carry it {it should be carried}. You [descendants of Levi] were not the ones who carried it, so Yahweh our God punished us.”
14 Sa gayo'y ang mga saserdote at ang mga Levita ay nagpakabanal, upang iahon ang kaban ng Panginoon, ng Dios ng Israel.
Then the priests and the [other] descendants of Levi [performed the rituals to] purify themselves, in order that it would be proper for them to do the work of carrying the Sacred Chest of Yahweh, the God of us Israeli people.
15 At pinisan ng mga anak ng mga Levita ang kaban ng Dios sa kanilang mga balikat sa pamamagitan ng mga pingga niyaon, gaya ng iniutos ni Moises ayon sa salita ng Panginoon.
The descendants of Levi [inserted] the poles [into the rings on] the Sacred Chest so that with them, they could carry the Sacred Chest on their shoulders, like Moses had commanded, and like Yahweh had said that they should.
16 At si David ay nagsalita sa pinuno ng mga Levita, na ihalal ang kanilang mga kapatid na mangaawit, na may mga panugtog ng tugtugin, mga salterio, at mga alpa, at mga simbalo, upang magsitugtog ng malakas, at maglakas ng tinig na may kagalakan.
David told the leaders of the descendants of Levi to appoint some of their relatives to sing joyful songs and play lyres, harps, and cymbals [while they were carrying the Sacred Chest].
17 Sa gayo'y inihalal ng mga Levita si Heman na anak ni Joel; at sa kaniyang mga kapatid ay si Asaph na anak ni Berechias; at sa mga anak ni Merari na kanilang mga kapatid ay si Ethan na anak ni Cusaias;
So they appointed Heman and his relatives Asaph and Ethan. Heman was the son of Joel; Asaph was the son of Berekiah. Ethan, a descendant of Merari, was Kushaiah’s son.
18 At kasama nila, ang kanilang mga kapatid sa ikalawang hanay, si Zacharias, si Ben, at si Jaaziel, at si Semiramoth, at si Jehiel, at si Unni, si Eliab, at si Benaias, at si Maasias, at si Mathithias, at si Eliphelehu, at si Micnias, at si Obed-edom, at si Jehiel, na mga tagatanod-pinto.
There was also another group of descendants of Levi who were appointed: Zechariah, Jaaziel, Shemiramoth, Jehiel, Unni, Eliab, Benaiah, Maaseiah, Mattithiah, Eliphelehu, Mikneiah, and two of the Sacred Tent gatekeepers, Obed-Edom and Jeiel.
19 Sa gayo'y ang mga mangaawit, si Heman, si Asaph, at si Ethan, ay nangahalal na may mga simbalong tanso upang patunuging malakas;
Heman, Asaph and Ethan sang, and also played bronze cymbals.
20 At si Zacharias, at si Jaaziel, at si Semiramoth, at si Jehiel, at si Unni, at si Eliab, at si Maasias, at si Benaias, na may mga salterio na itinugma sa Alamoth;
Zechariah, Aziel, Shemiramoth, Jehiel, Unni, Eliab, Maaseiah, and Benaiah played lyres.
21 At si Mathithias, at si Eliphelehu, at si Micnias, at si Obed-edom, at si Jehiel, at si Azazias, na may mga alpa na itinugma sa Seminit, upang magayos sa pagawit.
Mattithiah, Eliphelehu, Mikneiah, Obed-Edom, Jeiel and Azaziah played harps.
22 At si Chenanias, na pinuno ng mga Levita, nasa pamamahala sa awitan: siya ang nagtuturo tungkol sa pagawit, sapagka't siya'y bihasa.
Kenaniah, the leader of the descendants of Levi, directed the singing because he was very skilled at doing that.
23 At si Berechias, at si Elcana ay mga tagatanod sa kaban.
Berekiah and Elkanah were two of the men who guarded the Sacred Chest.
24 At si Sebanias, at si Josaphat, at si Nathanael, at si Amasai, at si Zacharias, at si Benaias at si Eliezer na mga saserdote, ay nagsihihip ng mga pakakak sa harap ng Dios: at si Obed-edom, at si Jehias ay mga tagatanod sa kaban.
The priests Shebaniah, Joshaphat, Nethanel, Amasai, Zechariah, Benaiah, and Eliezer were appointed to blow trumpets in front of the Sacred Chest. Obed-Edom and Jehiah also guarded the Sacred Chest.
25 Sa gayo'y si David, at ang mga matanda sa Israel, at ang mga punong kawal sa mga lilibuhin, ay nagsiyaon upang iahong may sayahan ang kaban ng tipan ng Panginoon mula sa bahay ni Obed-edom:
David and the Israeli leaders and the officers who commanded 1,000 soldiers went to bring the Sacred Chest back from Obed-Edom’s house. They were very joyful as they brought it to Jerusalem.
26 At nangyari, na pagka tinulungan ng Dios ang mga Levita na nangagdadala ng kaban ng tipan ng Panginoon, na sila'y naghahain ng pitong baka at pitong tupa.
God helped the descendants of Levi who carried the Sacred Chest of Yahweh; therefore David and the leaders sacrificed seven bulls and seven (rams/male sheep) [to thank him].
27 At si David ay nababalot ng isang balabal na mainam na kayong lino, at ang lahat na Levita na nagsisipasan ng kaban, at ang mga mangaawit, at si Chenanias na tagapagturo ng awit na kasama ng mga mangaawit: at si David ay mayroong isang epod na lino.
All the descendants of Levi who carried the Sacred Chest, all the singers, and Kenaniah, the man who directed those who sang, wore robes of fine white linen and sacred vests made of fine linen. David also wore a sacred vest made of white linen.
28 Gayon iniahon ng buong Israel ang kaban ng tipan ng Panginoon na may mga hiyawan, at may mga tunog ng korneta, at mga pakakak, at may mga simbalo, na tumutunog ng malakas na may mga salterio at mga alpa.
So all of the Israeli people joined in bringing the Sacred Chest up [to Jerusalem]. They shouted [joyfully, while the musicians] blew horns and trumpets, and played cymbals, lyres, and harps.
29 At nangyari, samantalang ang kaban ng tipan ng Panginoon ay dumarating sa bayan ni David, na si Michal na anak ni Saul ay tumanaw sa dungawan, at nakita niya ang haring David na sumasayaw at tumutugtog; at kaniyang niwalang kabuluhan siya sa kaniyang puso.
While they were bringing the Sacred Chest into Jerusalem, Saul’s daughter Michal watched them, looking out of a window. When she saw King David dancing and celebrating, she despised him.
