Sakaria 7
1 Och i konung Darejaves' fjärde regeringsår hände sig att HERRENS ord kom till Sakarja, på fjärde dagen i nionde månaden, det är Kisleu.
And it came to pass in the fourth year of Darius the king, [that] the word of the Lord came to Zacharias on the fourth [day] of the ninth month, which is Chaseleu.
2 Ty från Betel hade då Sareser och Regem-Melek med sina män blivit sända för att bönfalla inför HERREN;
And Sarasar and Arbeseer the king and his men sent to Bethel, and [that] to propitiate the Lord,
3 de skulle nämligen fråga prästerna i HERREN Sebaots hus och profeterna sålunda: "Skola vi framgent hålla gråtodag och späka oss i femte månaden, såsom vi hava gjort nu i så många år?"
speaking to the priests that were in the house of the Lord Almighty, and to the prophets, saying, The holy offering has come in hither in the fifth month, as it has done already many years.
4 Så kom då HERREN Sebaots ord till mig; han sade:
And the word of the Lord of hosts came to me, saying,
5 Säg till allt folket i landet och till prästerna: När I nu under sjuttio år haven hållit faste- och klagodagar i femte och i sjunde månaden, har det då varit åt mig som I haven hållit fasta?
Speak to the whole people of the land, and to the priests, saying, Though you fasted or lamented in the fifth or seventh [months] (yes, behold, these seventy years) have you at all fasted to me?
6 Och när I äten och dricken, är det icke då för eder egen räkning som I äten och dricken?
And if you eat or drink, do you not eat and drink for yourselves?
7 Haven I icke förnummit de ord som HERREN lät predika genom forna tiders profeter, medan Jerusalem ännu tronade i god ro med sina städer omkring sig, och medan Sydlandet och Låglandet ännu voro bebodda?
Are not these the words which the Lord spoke by the former prophets, when Jerusalem was inhabited and in prosperity, and her cities round about her, and the hill country and the low country was inhabited?
8 Vidare kom HERRENS ord till Sakarja; han sade:
And the word of the Lord came to Zacharias, saying,
9 Så sade ju HERREN Sebaot: "Dömen rätta domar, och bevisen varandra kärlek och barmhärtighet.
Thus says the Lord Almighty; Judge righteous judgment, and deal mercifully and compassionately every one with his brother:
10 Förtrycken icke änkan och den faderlöse, främlingen och den fattige, och tänken icke i edra hjärtan ut ont mot varandra."
and oppress not the widow, or the fatherless, or the stranger, or the poor; and let not one of you remember in his heart the injury of his brother.
11 Men de ville icke akta därpå, utan spjärnade emot i gensträvighet och tillslöto sina öron för att slippa att höra.
But they refused to attend, and madly turned their back, and made their ears heavy, so that they should not hear.
12 ja, de gjorde sina hjärtan hårda såsom diamant, för att slippa att höra den lag och de ord som HERREN Sebaot genom sin Ande hade sänt, förmedelst forna tiders profeter. Därför utgick stor vrede från HERREN Sebaot.
And they made their heart disobedient, so as not to listen to my law, and the words which the Lord Almighty sent forth by his Spirit by the former prophets: so there was great wrath from the Lord Almighty.
13 Och det skedde, att likasom de icke hade velat höra, när han ropade, så sade nu HERREN Sebaot: "Jag vill icke höra, när de ropa;
And it shall come to pass, [that] as he spoke, and they listened not, so they shall cry, and I will not listen, says the Lord Almighty.
14 utan jag skall förströ dem såsom genom en stormvind bland allahanda hednafolk som de icke känna." Så har nu landet blivit öde efter dem, så att ingen färdas där, vare sig fram eller tillbaka; ty de hava så gjort det ljuvliga landet till en ödemark.
And I will cast them out among all the nations, whom they know not; and the land behind them shall be made utterly destitute of any going through or returning: yes they have made the choice land a desolation.
