Psaltaren 92

1 En psalm, en sång för sabbatsdagen. Det är gott att tacka HERREN och att lovsjunga ditt namn, du den Högste,

Yahweh, it is good for people to thank you and to sing to praise you [MTY] who are greater than any other god.

2 att om morgonen förkunna din nåd, och när natten har kommit din trofasthet,

It is good to proclaim every morning that you faithfully love us, and each night [to sing songs that] declare that you always do what you have promised to do,

3 med tiosträngat instrument och psaltare, med spel på harpa.

accompanied by [musicians playing] harps that have ten strings, and by the sounds made by a lyre.

4 Ty du gläder mig, HERRE, med dina gärningar; jag vill jubla över dina händers verk.

Yahweh, you have caused me to be glad; I sing joyfully because of what you [SYN] have done.

5 Huru stora äro icke dina verk, o HERRE! Ja, övermåttan djupa äro dina tankar.

Yahweh, the things that you do are great! But it is difficult for us to understand [all] that you think.

6 En oförnuftig man besinnar det ej, och en dåre förstår icke sådant.

There are things [that you do] that foolish people cannot know about, things that stupid people cannot understand.

7 Om ock de ogudaktiga grönska såsom gräs och ogärningsmännen blomstra allasammans, så sker det till fördärv för evig tid.

They do not understand that although the number of wicked [people] increases [like blades of] grass do [SIM], and they prosper, they will be completely destroyed.

8 Men du, HERRE, är hög evinnerligen.

But Yahweh, you [will] exalted/be honored/rule) forever.

9 Ty se, dina fiender, HERRE, se, dina fiender förgås, alla ogärningsmännen bliva förströdda.

Yahweh, your enemies will [certainly] die, and those who do wicked things will be defeated/scattered.

10 Men mitt horn gör du högt såsom vildoxens; jag varder övergjuten med frisk olja.

But you have caused me to be as strong [MTY] as [SIM] a wild ox; you have caused me to be very joyful [MTY].

11 Och med lust får mitt öga skåda på mina förföljare och mina öron höra om de onda som resa sig upp mot mig.

I [SYN] have seen you defeat my enemies; d I have heard those evil men wail/scream while they were being slaughtered.

12 Den rättfärdige grönskar såsom ett palmträd, såsom en ceder på Libanon växer han till.

But righteous [people] will prosper like [SIM] palm trees that grow well, or like [SIM] cedar [trees] that grow in Lebanon.

13 Ja, sådana äro planterade i HERRENS hus; de grönska i vår Guds gårdar.

[They are like the trees] that grow near the temple of Yahweh [in Jerusalem], those trees that are close to the courtyard of the temple of our God.

14 Ännu när de bliva gamla, skjuta de skott, de frodas och grönska;

[Even] when righteous people become old, they do many things [IDM] [that please God]. They remain strong and full of energy, [like trees that] [MET] remain full of sap.

15 så för att de skola förkunna att HERREN är rättfärdig, min klippa, han i vilken orätt icke finnes.

That shows that Yahweh is just; he is [like a huge] rock [under which I am safe/protected], and he never does anything that is wicked/wrong.
