Psaltaren 68
1 För sångmästaren; av David; en psalm, en sång. Gud står upp; hans fiender varda förskingrade, och de som hata honom fly för hans ansikte.
To him that excelleth. A Psalme or song of David. God will arise, and his enemies shalbe scattered: they also that hate him, shall flee before him.
2 Såsom rök fördrives, så fördrivas de av dig; likasom vaxet smälter för eld, så förgås de ogudaktiga för Guds ansikte.
As the smoke vanisheth, so shalt thou driue them away: and as waxe melteth before the fire, so shall the wicked perish at the presence of God.
3 Men de rättfärdiga äro glada, de fröjda sig inför Gud och jubla i glädje.
But the righteous shalbe glad, and reioyce before God: yea, they shall leape for ioye.
4 Sjungen till Guds ära, lovsägen hans namn. Gören väg för honom som drager fram genom öknarna. Hans namn är HERREN, fröjdens inför honom;
Sing vnto God, and sing prayses vnto his name: exalt him that rideth vpon the heauens, in his Name Iah, and reioyce before him.
5 de faderlösas fader och änkors försvarare, Gud i sin heliga boning,
He is a Father of the fatherlesse, and a Iudge of the widowes, euen God in his holy habitation.
6 en Gud som förhjälper de ensamma till ett hem, och som för de fångna ut till lycka; allenast de gensträviga måste bo i en öken.
God maketh the solitarie to dwell in families, and deliuereth them that were prisoners in stocks: but the rebellious shall dwell in a dry land.
7 Gud, när du drog ut i spetsen för ditt folk, när du gick fram i ödemarken, (Sela)
O God, when thou wentest forth before thy people: when thou wentest through the wildernesse, (Selah)
8 då bävade jorden, då utgöt himmelen sina flöden inför Guds ansikte; ja, Sinai bävade för Guds ansikte; Israels Guds.
The earth shooke, and the heauens dropped at the presence of this God: euen Sinai was moued at the presence of God, euen the God of Israel.
9 Ett nåderikt regn lät du falla, o Gud; ditt arvland, som försmäktade, vederkvickte du.
Thou, O God, sendest a gracious raine vpon thine inheritance, and thou didest refresh it when it was wearie.
10 Din skara fick bo däri; genom din godhet beredde du det åt de betryckta, o Gud.
Thy Congregation dwelled therein: for thou, O God, hast of thy goodnesse prepared it for the poore.
11 Herren låter höra sitt ord, stor är skaran av kvinnor som båda glädje:
The Lord gaue matter to the women to tell of the great armie.
12 "Härskarornas konungar fly, de fly, och husmodern därhemma får utskifta byte.
Kings of the armies did flee: they did flee, and she that remained in the house, deuided the spoyle.
13 Viljen I då ligga stilla inom edra hägnader? Duvans vingar äro höljda i silver, och hennes fjädrar skimra av guld.
Though ye haue lien among pots, yet shall ye be as the winges of a doue that is couered with siluer, and whose fethers are like yelowe golde.
14 När den Allsmäktige förströr konungarna i landet, faller snö på Salmon."
When the Almightie scattered Kings in it, it was white as the snowe in Zalmon.
15 Ett Guds berg är Basans berg, ett högtoppigt berg är Basans berg.
The mountaine of God is like the mountaine of Bashan: it is an high Mountaine, as mount Bashan.
16 Men varför sen I så avogt, I höga berg, på det berg som Gud har utkorat till sitt säte, det där ock HERREN skall bo för alltid?
Why leape ye, ye high mountaines? as for this Mountaine, God deliteth to dwell in it: yea, the Lord will dwell in it for euer.
17 Guds vagnar äro tiotusenden, tusen och åter tusen; Herren drog fram med dem, Sinai är nu i helgedomen.
The charets of God are twentie thousande thousand Angels, and the Lord is among them, as in the Sanctuarie of Sinai.
18 Du for upp i höjden, du tog fångar, du undfick gåvor bland människorna, ja, också de gensträviga skola bo hos HERREN Gud.
Thou art gone vp on high: thou hast led captiuitie captiue, and receiued giftes for men: yea, euen the rebellious hast thou led, that the Lord God might dwell there.
19 Lovad vare Herren! Dag efter dag bär han oss; Gud är vår frälsning. (Sela)
Praysed be the Lord, euen the God of our saluation, which ladeth vs dayly with benefites. (Selah)
20 Gud är för oss en Gud som frälsar, och hos HERREN, Herren finnes räddning från döden.
This is our God, euen the God that saueth vs: and to the Lord God belong the issues of death.
21 Men Gud sönderkrossar sina fienders huvuden, krossar hjässan på den som går där med skuld.
Surely God will wound the head of his enemies, and the hearie pate of him that walketh in his sinnes.
22 Herren säger: "Från Basan skall jag hämta dem, från havets djup skall jag hämta dem upp,
The Lord hath sayde, I will bring my people againe from Bashan: I will bring them againe from the depths of the Sea:
23 så att du kan stampa med din fot i blod och låta dina hundars tunga få sin del av fienderna."
That thy foote may bee dipped in blood, and the tongue of thy dogges in the blood of the enemies, euen in it.
24 Man ser, o Gud, ditt högtidståg, min Guds, min konungs, tåg inne i helgedomen.
They haue seene, O God, thy goings, the goings of my God, and my King, which art in the Sanctuarie.
25 Främst gå sångare, harpospelare följa efter, mitt ibland unga kvinnor som slå på pukor.
The singers went before, the players of instruments after: in the middes were the maides playing with timbrels.
26 Lova Gud i församlingarna, loven Herren, I av Israels brunn.
Praise yee God in the assemblies, and the Lord, ye that are of the fountaine of Israel.
27 Där går Benjamin, den yngste, han för dem an; där går skaran av Juda furstar, Sebulons furstar, Naftalis furstar.
There was litle Beniamin with their ruler, and the princes of Iudah with their assemblie, the princes of Zebulun, and the princes of Naphtali.
28 Din Gud har beskärt dig makt; så håll nu vid makt, o Gud, vad du har gjort för oss.
Thy God hath appointed thy strength: stablish, O God, that, which thou hast wrought in vs,
29 I ditt tempel i Jerusalem bäre konungar fram sina skänker åt dig.
Out of thy Temple vpon Ierusalem: and Kings shall bring presents vnto thee.
30 Näps odjuret i vassen, tjurarnas hop med deras kalvar, folken, må de ödmjukt hylla dig med sina silverstycken. Ja, han förströr de folk som finna behag i krig.
Destroy the company of the spearemen, and multitude of the mightie bulles with the calues of the people, that tread vnder feete pieces of siluer: scatter the people that delite in warre.
31 De mäktige skola komma hit från Egypten, Etiopien skall skynda hit till Gud, med gåvor i händerna.
Then shall the princes come out of Egypt: Ethiopia shall hast to stretche her hands vnto God.
32 I riken på jorden, sjungen till Guds ära; lovsägen Herren, (Sela)
Sing vnto God, O yee kingdomes of the earth: sing praise vnto the Lord, (Selah)
33 honom som far fram på urtidshimlarnas himmel. Ja, där låter han höra sin röst, en mäktig röst.
To him that rideth vpon ye most high heauens, which were from the beginning: beholde, he will send out by his voice a mightie sound.
34 Given Gud makten; över Israel är hans härlighet, och hans makt är i skyarna.
Ascribe the power to God: for his maiestie is vpon Israel, and his strength is in the cloudes.
35 Fruktansvärd är du, Gud, i din helgedom; Israels Gud, han giver makt och styrka åt sitt folk. Lovad vare Gud!
O God, thou art terrible out of thine holie places: the God of Israel is hee that giueth strength and power vnto the people: praised be God.
