Psaltaren 36
1 För sångmästaren; av HERRENS tjänare David. I mitt hjärta betänker jag vad synden säger till den ogudaktige, till den för vilkens ögon Guds fruktan ej finnes.
“For the leader of the music. A psalm of David, the servant of the Lord.” To speak of the ungodliness of the wicked is in my heart. He hath no fear of God before his eyes.
2 Den intalar ju honom vad som är behagligt i hans ögon: att man icke skall finna hans missgärning och hata den.
For he flattereth himself in his own eyes, Till his iniquity is found out and hated.
3 Hans muns ord äro fördärv och svek; han vill icke göra vad förståndigt och gott är.
The words of his mouth are iniquity and deceit; He neglecteth to be wise and to do good.
4 Fördärv tänker han ut på sitt läger, han träder på den väg som icke är god; han skyr icke för något ont.
He deviseth mischief upon his bed; He persevereth in an evil way; He abhorreth not sin.
5 HERRE, upp i himmelen räcker din nåd, och din trofasthet allt upp till skyarna.
Thy goodness, O LORD! reacheth to the heavens, And thy faithfulness to the clouds;
6 Din rättfärdighet är såsom väldiga berg, dina rätter såsom det stora havsdjupet; både människor och djur hjälper du, HERRE.
Thy righteousness is like the high mountains; Thy judgments are a great deep; Thou, O LORD! preservest man and beast!
7 Huru dyrbar är icke din nåd, o Gud! Människors barn hava sin tillflykt under dina vingars skugga.
How precious is thy loving-kindness, O God! Yea, the sons of men seek refuge under the shadow of thy wings.
8 De varda mättade av ditt hus' rika håvor, och av din ljuvlighets ström giver du dem att dricka.
They are satisfied with the abundance of thy house, And thou causest them to drink of the full stream of thy pleasures.
9 Ty hos dig är livets källa, i ditt ljus se vi ljus.
For with thee is the fountain of life; Through thy light we see light.
10 Låt din nåd förbliva över dem som känna dig och din rättfärdighet över de rättsinniga.
O continue thy loving-kindness to them that know thee, And thy favor to the upright in heart!
11 Låt icke de högmodigas fot komma över mig eller de ogudaktigas hand driva mig bort.
Let not the foot of the proud come upon me, Nor the hand of the wicked remove me!
12 Ja, där ligga ogärningsmännen fallna; de äro nedstötta och kunna icke mer resa sig.
Lo! already are the workers of iniquity fallen; They are cast down; they are unable to rise!
