Psaltaren 19
1 För sångmästaren; en psalm av David. Himlarna förtälja Guds ära, och fästet förkunnar hans händers verk;
To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David. The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork.
2 den ena dagen talar därom till den andra, och den ena natten kungör det för den andra;
Day unto day uttereth speech, and night unto night sheweth knowledge.
3 det är ej ett tal eller språk vars ljud icke höres.
[There is] no speech nor language, [where] their voice is not heard.
4 De sträcka sig ut över hela jorden, och deras ord gå till världens ändar. Åt solen har han gjort en hydda i dem;
Their line is gone out through all the earth, and their words to the end of the world. In them hath he set a tabernacle for the sun,
5 och den är såsom en brudgum som går ut ur sin kammare, den fröjdar sig, såsom en hjälte, att löpa sin bana.
Which [is] as a bridegroom coming out of his chamber, [and] rejoiceth as a strong man to run a race.
6 Vid himmelens ända är det den går upp, och dess omlopp når intill himmelens gränser, och intet är skylt för dess hetta.
His going forth [is] from the end of the heaven, and his circuit unto the ends of it: and there is nothing hid from the heat thereof.
7 HERRENS lag är utan brist och vederkvicker själen; HERRENS vittnesbörd är fast och gör den enfaldige vis.
The law of the LORD [is] perfect, converting the soul: the testimony of the LORD [is] sure, making wise the simple.
8 HERRENS befallningar äro rätta och giva glädje åt hjärtat; HERRENS bud är klart och upplyser ögonen.
The statutes of the LORD [are] right, rejoicing the heart: the commandment of the LORD [is] pure, enlightening the eyes.
9 HERRENS fruktan är ren och består evinnerligen; HERRENS rätter äro sanning, allasammans rättfärdiga.
The fear of the LORD [is] clean, enduring for ever: the judgments of the LORD [are] true [and] righteous altogether.
10 De äro dyrbarare än guld, ja, än fint guld i mängd; de äro sötare än honung, ja, än renaste honung.
More to be desired [are they] than gold, yea, than much fine gold: sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb.
11 Av dem hämtar ock din tjänare varning; den som håller dem har stor lön.
Moreover by them is thy servant warned: [and] in keeping of them [there is] great reward.
12 Vem märker själv huru ofta han felar? Förlåt mig mina hemliga brister.
Who can understand [his] errors? cleanse thou me from secret [faults].
13 Bevara ock din tjänare för fräcka människor; låt dem icke få makt med mig, så bliver jag ostrafflig och varder fri ifrån svår överträdelse.
Keep back thy servant also from presumptuous [sins; ] let them not have dominion over me: then shall I be upright, and I shall be innocent from the great transgression.
14 Låt min muns tal täckas dig och mitt hjärtas tankar, HERRE, min klippa och min förlossare.
Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O LORD, my strength, and my redeemer.
