1 En vallfartssång. Ur djupen ropar jag till dig, HERRE.

A Song of Ascents. Out of the depths, have I cried unto thee, O Yahweh.

2 Herre, hör min röst, låt dina öron akta på mina böners ljud.

O My Lord! hearken thou unto my voice, —Let thine ears be attentive to the voice of my supplications,

3 Om du, HERRE, vill tillräkna missgärningar, Herre, vem kan då bestå?

If, iniquities, thou shouldest mark, O Yah, O My Lord, who could stand?

4 Dock, hos dig är ju förlåtelse, på det att man må frukta dig.

But, with thee, is forgiveness, that thou mayest be revered.

5 Jag väntar efter HERREN, min själ väntar, och jag hoppas på hans ord.

I have waited for Yahweh, My soul hath waited for his word;

6 Min själ väntar efter Herren mer än väktarna efter morgonen, ja, mer än väktarna efter morgonen.

I have hoped, O my soul, for My Lord, more than they who watch for the morning, who watch for the morning.

7 Hoppas på HERREN, Israel; ty hos HERREN är nåd, och mycken förlossning är hos honom.

Wait, O Israel, for Yahweh, —for, with Yahweh, is lovingkindness, and there aboundeth with him—redemption.

8 Och han skall förlossa Israel från alla dess missgärningar.

He, therefore, will redeem Israel from all his iniquities.
